I need 1 guy who wants this car. I bought it next to the airport from an old latino fella. He gave me a bill of sale and I haven't done a thing with this car in 6 months. It runs and has 2 sets of original keys. Its in great original shape. The catalytic convertor is clogged and the key is sticky. I can drive it around but not for long. the old guy told me not to because the cat heats up quick. It sounds like a submarine right now. The car revs right up and is smooth though. You will have to be patient with me as I go through the title process. Check my feedback, people on eBay love my cars and everybody get the papers. The rust is on the rear deck and passenger front fender down low. check the pics. This is a 1 owner car from a cal berkeley prof who was an excellent caretaker. These are kinda scarce. I've have been conflicted since buying this car about a month ago. I thought I found a great car to hop up, hack up, resto-mod and turn into an awesome Pro-Touring ride. But after debating back and forth for weeks, I could not bring myself to do it. I could not add the loud Flowmaster mufflers, stroke and poke arguably the best Ford engine ever, the 302 to 347, change the white top to black, change the beauty rings to Cragars or Magnum 500s, add a Mach 1 hockey puck side stripes, add a Mach 1 hood, and repaint the car in a wild House of Colors GOLD flake. The change of heart came when I drove it to the recent Good Guys event and people just congregated around "Golden Girl" and looked her up and down, underneath and inside, took photos. This car is just TOO NICE to do my thing. Therefore, I have decided to just to let someone else appreciate her originality, her essence, her grace and just let her be as she was and still pretty much is, almost as she came from the factory and left the showroom floor that gorgeous Summer day in 1972... just as she was custom ordered by her original owners, Robert and Carol Anne. "Golden Girl" is an all original, unmolested, unrestored, original paint, near mint survivor car, found in a Silicon Valley garage, non-op'ed since 2001, piled up with stuff as if she was just a shelf holding the family's collection of stuff through the years. The original top was soiled and torn here and there, the white wall tires were out of round, there were a few door dings and the fender met the support pole in the garage. The driver seat was torn and the seat frame bent. There were a couple tiny door dings and the paint had some discoloration here and there. Overall the paint gleams! The interior is near mint and all the weatherstripping and rubber are very pliable, like new. The engine is completely intact with all required vacuum hoses attached. My first order of business was to get it road worthy and safe and looking good before I began my Muscle Car resto-modifications. All the fluids and filters were changed, including new brake hoses, wheel cylinders and master cylinder. A transmission flush and new pan gaskets were done. Output seals, pinion seal and a differential flush with fresh gear oil and Limited Slip Additive completed the drive train. New Idler Arm was added and a wheel alignment was performed. New BFG Radial TA's make the car pop with Muscle Car styling, as seen in the original “Gone in 60 Seconds” Eleanor of 1974. Golden Girl still sports her original style hub caps and beauty rings as driven by James Bond in “Diamonds Are Forever”. The Mustang drives straight and true. After the Good Guys event, I went against my original Restomod vision and replaced the Top with a Concourse correct White Top with Glass (not plastic) from National Parts Depot. Then, I set about to repair the seat, but no one seemed to have the correct Ginger Sebring covers. The Ginger Houndstooth-style from TMI and others won't cut it. Like a miracle from above, a local 1970 Yellow BOSS 302 owner listed on Craigslist a pair of buckets in Ginger Sebring Knit from a 1971-73 Mustang/Cougar he adapted. I bought the pair within 2 days of his listing. Mustang car guys like us can talk for hours about our cars. I had scanned the local CL for the past 3-4 years and I have never seen a pair in this material in this like new condition for over 2 years! Heaven-sent score! My upholstery guy is a true master craftsman with over 40 years in the business. He knocked out the job in 3 days. Expensive but excellent work. Done. The exterior paint was treated to a hand wax with ZYMOL. It's expensive and really is the best stuff that leaves virtually no swirls or lines. Golden Girl is 42 year old and I just did not want to risk a cut and buff. It shined up beautifully with a hand job as seen in the photos. A couple more wax jobs, perhaps a clay bar, some engine and interior detailing, Golden Girl should bring good times and possibly GOLD at 1972 and older vintage car shows. The paint and body is very striking, though it is not perfect and reveals "factory" mass production imperfections such as some paint over-runs (or is that factory dipping in rustproofing?) and slight door gap issues, but it is still presentable as an ORIGINAL SURVIVOR car IMHO. Unmolested survivor cars in good quality condition are just now becoming ALL THE RAGE and just NOW beginning to command a PREMIUM over Re-Painted and Re-Stored cars. It is ONLY ORIGINAL ONCE as they say. It has beautiful patina, the little imperfections give it life, character and a STORY...it really looks fine to me and the many who have seen it, but everyone's standard is different. If you must respray on it, go for it. You should win MANY shows for originality. With a little more work, you can have a 100 point MCA concours trailer queen. Golden Girl is relatively EASY to get to a 100 Point SCORE because everything is nearly intact. You won't have to scour the country for a bunch of hard to find NOS parts. She still has her original Autolite muffler too! 1972 for some reason is the cut off for many vintage car shows. It is said to be the official end of the Muscle Car era. Good Guys car events seem to restrict cars to 1972 and older. Go figure. But no worries. Golden Girl can join the fun, the shows, the parades and the cruises. 1972 was a tough year for Federal Safety. All these buzzers and lights that we are accustom to today in modern cars, that started full on in 1972. Buzzers and lights go off in Golden Girl if you don't buckle up. Pretty cool, actually, to sit in a historically important model year. It is my understanding that Robert returned from Vietnam and special ordered this gorgeous DEARBORN, MICHIGAN -built Mustang from Canyon Ford in Southern California for the love of his life, Carol Anne. There is even a special Ford-logo plate on the dash near the radio from the factory that says: CUSTOM BUILT FOR CAROL ANNE - - - -. I’ve never ever seen this before!! Robert is a bit of a hoarder and eccentric, so most records are lost or buried in his home. However, I found receipts in the trunk that follow their time in Southern California in 1975 and migration to Arizona circa 1979 and then to Silicon Valley in the early 1980's. The car has been out of the DMV system for over a decade. If you are in California, there is a chance you may need to bring the car to a local Highway Patrol office for an inspection. Anyway, Golden Girl sat neglected in the garage for years and years as Robert and Carol raised their children. Robert supposedly had a history with Steve Jobs and Apple, which we can't confirm nor deny. There is a stain ring on Golden Girl's trunk that I'd like to imagine was from Steve's coffee mug as he brainstormed Robert's Silicon Valley garage. I'm selling this car on a Bill of Sale, you get the original PINK SLIP with Robert and Carol Anne's original names and signature on it, and you become the SECOND OWNER if you are the very fortunate high bidder. I really hope Golden Girl gets into a museum, a private collection or just to a wonderful person who will love and treasure her. Golden Girl is a very special girl. She is VERY RARE. 1 of 1 rare. Of the 125,093 Mustangs built in 1972, she is a 1 of 1 as optioned. There is no other Mustang out there, like her. The Marti Stat Report testifies to her extreme rarity and uniqueness as follows: 125,093 1972 Mustangs, 6,401 were Convertibles. Of them, 3,224 came with 302-2V Engines. 1,969 of those had FMX Automatic Transmissions. 108 of them were painted Gold Glow Metallic, of which 68 had Ginger Knitted Vinyl Bucket Seats. Of those, 38 were equipped with White Power Tops. 3 of them came with Power Side Windows. Of these, 1 was produced with an Air Conditioner. 2F03F199740 is that Mustang. ONE OF ONE… ALL ORIGINAL ONCE AND IT IS STILL ALL ORIGINAL… Power Windows are a must. 1964-1/2 to 1970 Mustangs never had this option. Finally, in 1971 to 1973, Power Windows became a RARE option. Who wants to hand crank 4 individual windows front and rear? I don't. And you, the lucky buyer, won't either! Air Condition is a must have option too, especially if you live in Southern California, Arizona, Texas or Florida. Well, it is just nice to have no matter where you live, period. Very desirable. Robert custom ordered his Convertible with some STRANGE ideas, IMHO. I mean, it looks like a luxury Grande model with the White Top and luxury interior with the Deluxe Inner Door Grab Handles. But what is strange is that Golden Girl has the Mach 1 front grille with working amber lamps, front urethane bumper, lower matte black trim with chrome accents, and high performance Traction-Lok Rear Differential and Competition Suspension. It's almost as if Robert gave Golden Girl the soft feminine Grande touch for Carol Anne, but sneaked in sporty Mach 1 trims for him. I guess this car is the perfect compromise HIS (Mach 1) and HERS (Grande, White Top Convertible) car. Golden Girl is beautiful and graceful, yet powerful and athletic. Since she is ALL ORIGINAL, I've documented her with 100s of photos, just in case, I found a car I needed to bring to Original some day. You can see the Factory inspection marks, paint dabs, how the decals were applied, how the Mach 1 lower paint trim was applied outside and in the doors. The rubber bumpers, the electrical, everything is intact, in place and working. The odometer reads 2001 miles and climbing. I drive it once a week. People love it, honk, thumbs up and take photos of it all the time. The door service sticker says it had an oil change in 2001 at 1,575 miles. It's 2014 and she just turned 2000 miles. My grin goes cheek to cheek. I'm sure it has rolled over at least once. She purrs like a kitten, cruises at 65-75 mph with ease. Everything works. The lights, the gauges, the radio, the power top. She is just clean inside and out. The trunk is immaculate. Golden Girl has her original full size spare, a BF Goodrich SILVERTOWN in E78-14 size, seems brand new and still retains factory pink and white grease marker dabs. The jack seems unused too. How cool is that! No rust and super clean. The tonneau cover is original, date stamped 8-71, fits nice and tight. It came with a Car Cover in the trunk, which seems new and never used. The car is clean. The ash trays are clean. Non-smoker car! MYSTERY: This car has the VERY RARE special Snorkel Plastic Ducts that “RAM” fresh cold air from under the Battery Tray. This was NEVER available in 1971 and older Mustangs and first appeared in the very rare 1972 351HO Mustangs of which less than 398 were built. 1972 was the first year of the full time COLD AIR INDUCTION "Ram Air" plastic system. I have seen the snorkel and duct system for sale on EBAY by itself for about $500. 351 H.O. owners need this rare part if it is missing in their cars. This system allowed FORD to pass the Solid-Lifter 1972 351 H.O. through tough Emissions Laws in all 50 states, a feat that Chevrolet was unable to achieve for their 454 V8. By 1973, the Cold Air Induction concept went into ALL cars. However, the 1973 version is different than the 1972 version. The very RARE 1972 version has a plastic ban around the Snorkel with the Flex Duct stapled to it. I'm not sure why this system made it on this 1972 302 engine. Perhaps, it has to do something with California's NOX requirement. So, if you find this RARE ITEM on another 1972 Mustang non-351HO car, let me know. I’m curious. I've have been conflicted since buying this car about a month ago. I thought I found a great car to hop up, hack up, resto-mod and turn into an awesome Pro-Touring ride. But after debating back and forth for weeks, I could not bring myself to do it. I could not add the loud Flowmaster mufflers, stroke and poke arguably the best Ford engine ever, the 302 to 347, change the white top to black, change the beauty rings to Drag Lites, add Mach 1 hockey puck side stripes, add a Mach 1 hood, and repaint the car. The change of heart came when I drove it to the recent Good Guys event and people just congregated around "Golden Girl" and looked her up and down, underneath and inside, took photos. This car is just TOO NICE to do my thing. Therefore, I have decided to just to let someone else appreciate her originality, her essence, her grace and just let her be as she was and still pretty much is, almost as she came from the factory and left the showroom floor that gorgeous Summer day in 1972... just as she was custom ordered by her original owners, Robert and Carol Anne. "Golden Girl" is an all original, unmolested, unrestored, original paint, near mint survivor car, found in a Silicon Valley garage, non-op'ed since 2001, piled up with stuff as if she was just a shelf holding the family's collection of stuff through the years. The original top was soiled and torn here and there, the white wall tires were out of round, there were a few door dings and the fender met the support pole in the garage. The driver seat was torn and the seat frame bent. There were a couple tiny door dings and the paint had some discoloration here and there. Overall the paint gleams! The interior is near mint and all the weatherstripping and rubber are very pliable, like new. The engine is completely intact with all required vacuum hoses attached. My first order of business was to get it road worthy and safe and looking good before I began my Muscle Car resto-modifications. All the fluids and filters were changed, including new brake hoses, wheel cylinders and master cylinder. A transmission flush and new pan gaskets were done. Output seals, pinion seal and a differential flush with fresh gear oil and Limited Slip Additive completed the drive train. New Idler Arm was added and a wheel alignment was performed. New BFG Radial TA's make the car pop with Muscle Car styling, as seen in the original “Gone in 60 Seconds” Eleanor of 1974. Golden Girl still sports her original style hub caps and beauty rings as driven by James Bond in “Diamonds Are Forever”. The Mustang drives straight and true. After the Good Guys event, I went against my original Resto-Mod vision and replaced the Top with a Concourse correct White Top with Glass (not plastic) from National Parts Depot. Then, I set about to repair the seat, but no one seemed to have the correct Ginger Sebring covers. The Ginger Houndstooth-style from TMI and others won't cut it. Like a miracle from above, a local 1970 Yellow BOSS 302 owner listed on Craigslist a pair of buckets in Ginger Sebring Knit from a 1971-73 Mustang/Cougar he adapted. I bought the pair within 2 days of his listing. Mustang car guys like us can talk for hours about our cars. I had scanned the local CL for the past 3-4 years and I have never seen a pair in this material in this like new condition for over 2 years! Heaven-sent score! My upholstery guy is a true master craftsman with over 40 years in the business. He knocked out the job in 3 days. Expensive but excellent work. Done. The exterior paint was treated to a hand wax with ZYMOL. It's expensive and really is the best stuff that leaves virtually no swirls or lines. Golden Girl is 42 year old and I just did not want to risk a cut and buff. It shined up beautifully with a hand job as seen in the photos. A couple more wax jobs, perhaps a clay bar, some engine and interior detailing, Golden Girl should bring good times and possibly GOLD at 1972 and older vintage car shows. The paint and body is very striking, though it is not perfect and reveals "factory" mass production imperfections such as some paint over-runs (or is that factory dipping in rustproofing?) and slight door gap issues, but it is still presentable as an ORIGINAL SURVIVOR car IMHO. Unmolested survivor cars in good quality condition are just now becoming ALL THE RAGE and just NOW beginning to command a PREMIUM over Re-Painted and Re-Stored cars. It is ONLY ORIGINAL ONCE as they say. It has beautiful patina, the little imperfections give it life, character and a STORY...it really looks fine to me and the many who have seen it, but everyone's standard is different. If you must respray on it, go for it. You should win MANY shows for originality. With a little more work, you can have a 100 point MCA concours trailer queen. Golden Girl is relatively EASY to get to a 100 Point SCORE because everything is nearly intact. You won't have to scour the country for a bunch of hard to find NOS parts. She still has her original Autolite muffler too! 1972 for some reason is the cut off for many vintage car shows. It is said to be the official end of the Muscle Car era. Good Guys car events seem to restrict cars to 1972 and older. Go figure. But no worries. Golden Girl can join the fun, the shows, the parades and the cruises. 1972 was a tough year for Federal Safety. All these buzzers and lights that we are accustom to today in modern cars, that started full on in 1972. Buzzers and lights go off in Golden Girl if you don't buckle up. Pretty cool, actually, to sit in a historically important model year. It is my understanding that Robert returned from Vietnam and special ordered this gorgeous DEARBORN, MICHIGAN -built Mustang from Canyon Ford in Southern California for the love of his life, Carol Anne. There is even a special Ford-logo plate on the dash near the radio from the factory that says: CUSTOM BUILT FOR CAROL ANNE - - - -. I’ve never ever seen this before!! Robert is a bit of a hoarder and eccentric, so most records are lost or buried in his home. However, I found receipts in the trunk that follow their time in Southern California in 1975 and migration to Arizona circa 1979 and then to Silicon Valley in the early 1980's. The car has been out of the DMV system for over a decade. If you are in California, there is a chance you may need to bring the car to a local Highway Patrol office for an inspection. Anyway, Golden Girl sat neglected in the garage for years and years as Robert and Carol raised their children. Robert supposedly had a history with Steve Jobs and Apple, which we can't confirm nor deny. There is a stain ring on Golden Girl's trunk that I'd like to imagine was from Steve's coffee mug as he brainstormed Robert's Silicon Valley garage. I'm selling this car on a Bill of Sale, you get the original PINK SLIP with Robert and Carol Anne's original names and signature on it, and you become the SECOND OWNER if you are the very fortunate high bidder. I really hope Golden Girl gets into a museum, a private collection or just to a wonderful person who will love and treasure her. Golden Girl is a very special girl. She is VERY RARE. 1 of 1 rare. Of the 125,093 Mustangs built in 1972, she is a 1 of 1 as optioned. There is no other Mustang out there, like her. The Marti Stat Report testifies to her extreme rarity and uniqueness as follows: 125,093 1972 Mustangs, 6,401 were Convertibles. Of them, 3,224 came with 302-2V Engines. 1,969 of those had FMX Automatic Transmissions. 108 of them were painted Gold Glow Metallic, of which 68 had Ginger Knitted Vinyl Bucket Seats. Of those, 38 were equipped with White Power Tops. 3 of them came with Power Side Windows. Of these, 1 was produced with an Air Conditioner. 2F03F199740 is that Mustang. ONE OF ONE… ALL ORIGINAL ONCE AND IT IS STILL ALL ORIGINAL… Power Windows are a must. 1964-1/2 to 1970 Mustangs never had this option. Finally, in 1971 to 1973, Power Windows became a RARE option. Who wants to hand crank 4 individual windows front and rear? I don't. And you, the lucky buyer, won't either! Air Condition is a must have option too, especially if you live in Southern California, Arizona, Texas or Florida. Well, it is just nice to have no matter where you live, period. Very desirable. Robert custom ordered his Convertible with some STRANGE ideas, IMHO. I mean, it looks like a luxury Grande model with the White Top and luxury interior with the Deluxe Inner Door Grab Handles. But what is strange is that Golden Girl has the Mach 1 front grille with working amber lamps, front urethane bumper, lower matte black trim with chrome accents, and high performance Traction-Lok Rear Differential and Competition Suspension. It's almost as if Robert gave Golden Girl the soft feminine Grande touch for Carol Anne, but sneaked in sporty Mach 1 trims for him. I guess this car is the perfect compromise HIS (Mach 1) and HERS (Grande, White Top Convertible) car. Golden Girl is beautiful and graceful, yet powerful and athletic. Since she is ALL ORIGINAL, I've documented her with 100s of photos, just in case, I found a car I needed to bring to Original some day. You can see the Factory inspection marks, paint dabs, how the decals were applied, how the Mach 1 lower paint trim was applied outside and in the doors. The rubber bumpers, the electrical, everything is intact, in place and working. The odometer reads 1800 miles and climbing. I drive it. People love it, honk, thumbs up and take photos of it all the time. The door service sticker says it had an oil change in 2001 at 1,575 miles. It's 2014 and she just turned 1800 miles. My grin goes cheek to cheek. I'm sure it has rolled over at least once. She purrs like a kitten, cruises at 65-75 mph with ease. Everything works. The lights, the gauges, the radio, the power top. She is just clean inside and out. The trunk is immaculate. Golden Girl has her original full size spare, a BF Goodrich SILVERTOWN in E78-14 size, seems brand new and still retains factory pink and white grease marker dabs. The jack seems unused too. How cool is that! No rust and super clean. The tonneau cover is original, date stamped 8-71, fits nice and tight. It came with a Car Cover in the trunk, which seems new and never used. The car is clean. The ash trays are clean. Non-smoker car! MYSTERY: This car has the VERY RARE special Snorkle Plastic Ducts that “RAM” fresh cold air from under the Battery Tray. This was NEVER available in 1971 and older Mustangs and first appeared in the very rare 1972 351HO Mustangs of which less than 398 were built. 1972 was the first year of the full time COLD AIR INDUCTION plastic system in select models before going system wide in Fords of 1973. I have seen the snorkle and duct system for sale on EBAY by itself for about $500. 351 H.O. owners need this rare part if it is missing in their cars. I'm not sure why this system made it on this 302 engine. Perhaps, it has to do something with California's NOX requirement. Ferrari : 308 GTB 1976 Ferrari 308GTB mech restored w/3.4L rebuild, two owner, lightweight

Offered for sale is a fully documented from day one, two owner, fully documented from day 1, 1976 Ferrari 308GTB (steel) chassis 20623 with 86,XXX fully documented miles. All belts and fluids just changed, new tires, new exhaust, car is 100% ready to go. This example was one of the first steel bodied cars in the US and was a Marin County California car from new through 2006. This car was originally purchased through Griswold motors in Berkeley, CA. The original owner was a well-known (since deceased) architect in the area and has pieces in the San Francisco museum of modern art. This original owner drove the car daily through about 1981 which when it accrued some 80% of its mileage. He also had the car serviced by one mechanic from day one through my purchase of the car in May of 2006, this car is incredibly well documented from day one and it includes the original window sticker as well as multiple letters from the Ferrari factory. The original mechanic still maintains a Ferrari shop in Novato, CA and he continues to know the car very well as I have kept him regularly updated. There are zero gaps in this cars history. This car is now much more powerful, lightweight, and is a joy to drive. This car, as with any 30+ year old car, although very well maintained by the original owner, was in need of regular things which any 30+ year old car would need. All of this has been completed, I will get into the details later. I am a Ferrari mechanic and have rebuilt or replaced nearly every mechanical component on this car, you will not find a more ready and fresh car on the market. Most all 308s are sold the same way I purchased mine in that they have been serviced regularly but things such as suspension bushings, brake calipers, engine and gearbox rebuilds (which just about every one of these 30+ year old machines need), and a/c system rebuilds have never been done as they are undoubtedly of great expense. My goal was to restore the car to high level of mechanical completion, but retain as much of the original as possible as a car is only original once and I am very much a fan of originality. There is just about no component on this car that has not been restored. 3.4L Engine, 330bhp, 270lbs torque: This engine is about a year or so old now and I have driven it well under 2000 miles. The engine has been rebuilt by me to a very high specification in that it has been blue printed in every detail, but the power has been significantly increased by way of placing a modern Ferrari crankshaft from a Ferrari 360 in the block as well as boring the sleeves along with extensive intake porting and valve redesigning. The Ferrari 360 crankshaft features a 79mm throw (also significantly lighter) vs. 71mm from a 308 crankshaft, the new bore of this engine is 83mm, while stock is 81mm. This required re-engineering of the pistons as well which was completed with JE pistons. A Ferrari 360 crank is a piece of jewelry, they are gorgeous and are undoubtedly something that only Ferrari can craft to such a level and as a result are incredibly expensive. The overall displacement of this engine is now just over 3.4L. The camshafts are a brand new billet steel set from a company in Europe featuring significantly higher lift (.425 vs. early US/European spec cams .350) and a good bit more duration(248 @ .050 vs. 235 @ .050 stock); these cams are still very streetable as the car is wonderful to drive on the street with a very flexible power curve. The idea was to build an engine with significantly more performance but without losing street manners or stock appearance. The original flimsy fiberglass camshaft belt cogs have been replaced with a custom made aluminum fully adjustable cam cog of aircraft quality. Higher specification valve springs were secured from an excellent company in Australia to control the valves and more aggressive camshaft lobe ramps. New valve guides and guide seals of course were installed and honed to appropriate tolerances. The intake valves are of a larger size by 2mm, designed by me, and use a larger internal diameter intake valve seat which further benefits flow. The exhaust valves are also new yet the exhaust ports and flow were unchanged as they flow a bit too much from the factory already, and at the time the factory didn’t know about modern concepts such as intake to exhaust flow rates etc. The intake bowls have been ported and enlarged/reshaped so intake flow is significantly higher than stock, thus more air which = more power. Custom pistons were designed then secured from JE and are about 10.5:1 compression, the quench to the cylinder head was designed by me to be an optimal .040. I used gapless top piston rings so this engine is very tight with minimal leakage in the cylinders. All gaskets and seals were of course replaced as well. While the engine was out I went ahead and replaced the synchros and all shift shaft seals in the gearbox, specifically synchros for gears 1, 2, and 3 with new genuine ZF synchros. The flywheel was skimmed and a new clutch and release bearing were installed. I spent a significant amount of time tuning this engine on the dyno and the road with a wideband O2 sensor and it is very well prepared.I installed a new water pump, and I just replaced the timing belts again for the sale of the car, so this engine is 100% ready. This engine is kept cool by a custom designed (by me) tig welded aluminum radiator which slots into the stock radiator position, it works very well. I have manufactured a large number of these radiators for the Ferrari club community which some of you may be familiar with, and they are all very functional units which handle dreaded 308 overheating remarkably well. The ignition system is a crank fired digital Electromotive system which is very popular for these engines and Porsche 911 engines as the stock system for the Ferrari is not only very weak, but inaccurate and extremely expensive to maintain as the parts are very pricey and extremely time consuming to service correctly. No more points or distributor caps to ever replace, nor does the advance curve ever need to be adjusted as it’s all digital, and it looks the part. As a result of the above, this engine obviously runs very well and the car is substantially quicker than any 308/328. An engine rebuild of this high specification is done by very few places on the planet and costs are typically $25-$30k. Servicing is the same as any other 308 with the exception being the ignition system which requires zero servicing as it’s digital which has made the car much more drivable and easier to service. Belt changes ever 3-5 years, adjust carbs a bit at the same time, done, but from the outside the engine appears largely stock which was the idea, while power at the crankshaft is about 330bhp with 270lbs torque with a large amount of that torque available at 3000rpm. A solid stock 308 engine makes no more than 230bhp at the crank (despite factory claims north of 250 at times), so this is a very significant bump in power and efficiency. The sister engine which was blueprinted identical my engine specifications (with my permission) was featured in the Forza magazine article ‘Snowball Express’ and credits were kindly given to me. That car was also featured on Petrolicious. Chassis and other restoration work: This car has never been involved in any accidents, the paint is in good shape making for a very presentable car and the body is very straight. This car weighs 2800lbs with about ¼ tank of fuel which is what a European specification fiberglass 308GTB weighs. Additionally, this weight is 350-400lbs less than a 355 or a 360 and is even lighter than a 360 Stradale. This car is obviously significantly quicker than any 308/328 and quicker than a 348 and will hold its own with a 355. The car has been lightened simply by removing the US bumpers and replacing them with proper European spec bumpers (as Enzo intended), much lighter radiator, lighter (new) stainless exhaust, much lighter rotating engine internals, much lighter gear reduction start motor (with lifetime warrantee) and by removing the significant smog pump equipment. The wheels are 16” QV wheels (repros) with new tires. The suspension system on the front end has been entirely rebuilt as have all 4 brake calipers and the brake master cylinder, the front pads are very new Porterfield R4 spec and they are brilliant, brake fluid is Motul RBF600 which is all I ever use. The shocks were replaced before I picked up the car and they are in great shape, so I have not replaced them with exception being the front shock bushings which I replaced as they were shot. The steering rack has been rebuilt and the bushings have all been replaced. New aviation grade fuel pump and fuel lines. New battery. Upgraded Bosch 85amp alternator. All new coolant hoses throughout including the incredibly tricky heater hose which traverses the left side rocker panel. All a/c line seals have been replaced as has the evaporator and a/c dryer, a/c oil, and a/c charge (only use R12 or equivalent in these, NEVER use R134 as the system was never designed for such). The seats and leather are in wonderful original condition as is the headliner. Records and tool kit: All records are present from day 1, this car has wonderful provenance. The tool and jack kits and spare are complete with the exception being the tool kit is missing the pliers. All Ferrari books, manuals as original are complete. The car is ready to go, no stories, a/c works well, has been fanatically maintained and above all else, loved. Belts and all fluids just changed, gearbox oil is Redline MTL, new tires with less than 50 miles on them replaced just for this sale. I consider this car a ‘288GTO light’ in how it goes and drives, not entirely dissimilar to Magnus Walker and his style of prized early Porsche 911 modified cars. Nice early GTBs are trading hands in the UK and EU for upwards of 50k+ Euro, and US auctions are following suit. Fiberglass Euro cars are trading at upwards of 150k overseas and rising, very nice early steel GTBs will go the same way albeit probably not to that extreme! 308s are incredibly easy and relatively inexpensive Ferrari’s to maintain as they are such simple cars really, especially compared to 348/355s. We are but custodians of these wonderful machines and I believe it’s time to move her on to another loving owner. Car is sold as is.
