The bright red paint is vivid and shiny, proving that paying more for a car really did get you more. Fit and finish are typical Teutonic quality and someone spent a lot of Saturday afternoons keeping it in top condition. Yes, it shows some normal wear from driving and some signs of age, but at this price, you're going to be very pleased with how it looks. It's as instantly recognizable as, say, a Mercedes SL of the same vintage and the BMW roundel hood ornament still means something. No modifications, no alterations, just a very clean car that still turns heads years later. The black leather interior is shockingly nice, particularly for a vintage convertible. The seats show very little wear and just some comfort marks on the lower cushions, but no signs of UV damage or dryness. How'd they manage that? You also get carpets that seem to defy the years and door panels that still look tidy and crisp. All the original gauges are big and easy to see, making us long for the days when cars weren't filled with electronic gimmicks and needless distractions from the serious business of driving. The original stereo has been upgraded to a Panasonic AM/FM/CD stereo unit that integrates neatly into the center stack, and the rest of the controls are simple and easy to use. Even the trip computer is still operational, a fun thing to play with when you're stopped at red lights. The back seat looks almost completely unused and the hard tonneau makes for a neat place to stash the black canvas convertible top. This convertible even offers a good-sized trunk that's quite usable, making this car a great candidate for your next road trip. BMW's 2.5 liter inline-six is justifiably famous, as its turbine-smooth road manners and flat torque curve make it a great partner for the sporty convertible. It has also proven itself to be virtually bulletproof with proper maintenance, meaning that you can enjoy this one without worries. It's quite original under the hood, and while it's not detailed for show or anything like that, you'll be pleased by how simple and robust the hardware is, making it easy to service today. Parts availability for these cars is quite good and you shouldn't be afraid of the cost of ownership, as these are quite reliable machines. Backed by a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, the 325i is a wonderful touring car and very low-stress in traffic. The ride is agile but supple, the brakes are powerful, and the engine note goes from barely audible at idle to a wonderful tenor wail at full tilt. Familiar BMW alloy wheels give it an upscale look and they're wrapped in recent Yokohama radials. Pickup trucks are the Next Big Thing in the collector automobile world, and the ones that you can use and enjoy every day are at the very top of the heap. With a recent repaint in high-gloss black, this truck looks absolutely fantastic in person. The cool thing about the color is that it both looks appropriate on the truck's 1987 sheetmetal, as well as contemporary, since black never really goes out of style. Of course, adding things like the cowl-induction hood gives it a whole different attitude, and you can tell even in photos that the workmanship is first-rate. It appears that this has always been a clean, southern truck, and with black paint, there's really no place for shoddy workmanship to hide. It was treated to a frame-off restoration two years ago, which cost more than $30,000, so you know this isn't some beater. Heck, even the beautifully finished bed looks fresh out of the stamping press with no signs of forced labor in its past, although it now has a spray-in bedliner and stainless bed rails to keep it in top shape. The chrome and brightwork is in good shape, including the bumpers and oversized side mirrors, and fresh stainless fender moldings were installed once the paint was dry. The all-black interior is the ideal complement to the bodywork, and offers a fresh vinyl seat cover on the original bench seat, so it's comfortable no matter what time of year it might be. OEM-style components like the door panels and dash pad are in excellent condition with minimal wear and the factory gauges are in excellent condition; they're so nice that we strongly suspect they've been rebuilt. Fresh carpets were fitted and the shifter on the floor manages the 2-speed transfer case for the 4-wheel-drive system. In the center of the dash there's a high-end AM/FM/CD/iPod/satellite stereo that powers a set of subwoofers behind the seats, so this sucker really rocks. It's also loaded with options, including A/C, a tilt steering column, and a sliding rear window for those days when you just don't need A/C. Just get in and go have fun! Under the hood, a rebuilt 350 cubic inch V8 from a K10 Blazer has been nestled between the wheel wells, and someone obviously took their time dressing it up. There's a chrome air cleaner lid and Chevy Orange on the block and an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor has been fitted to an aluminum intake, so it's plenty stout. The motor makes wonderful sounds thanks to a set of long-tube headers and a pair of Flowmasters with outlets just under the bed. This sucker snarls! The ultra-clean chassis is neatly finished with no signs of abuse or even aggressive off-roading, and all the suspension modifications are quite nicely done, including the lift kit. Everything has been restored, replaced, or rebuilt, and the vast amounts of cash that went into the build are obvious everywhere you look. Heck, those custom black powdercoated wheels and 38.5-15 Super Swamper tires probably cost 20% of the asking price! This is one of those trucks that needs nothing to hit the trails, and looks great even on pavement. There's a ton of cash invested here, and it makes a lot of sense to take advantage of someone else's investment. And yes, you saw that correctly, it sold for more than $88,000. Given how this Dusk Rose 'Bird looks today, it was worth every penny. Today, however, you can buy this lovely Thunderbird at a substantial discount and still well under the cost of restoration, which was surely into six figures. The factory didn't build many Dusk Rose Thunderbirds in 1957, but somehow we've managed to get more than one in our showroom. Coincidence or luck? You decide, but this one is unquestionably one of the finest Thunderbirds we've ever represented. The restoration is only a few years old and was done to exacting standards that make this car stand out in an already crowded field. The sheetmetal is ultra-straight, gaps are tight, the doors fit beautifully, and even the troublesome areas in the rear wheel arches are spotless. Clearly this 'Bird has lived a charmed life. In addition, all the chrome was restored to show standards with glittering clarity in the bumpers, exquisite shine in the grille and side trim, and wonderfully detailed taillights. They were never this nice in 1957, by the way. Pastels are the ultimate in 1950s fashion and the white leather interior works well with the Dusk Rose paint to give this 'Bird a feminine look that remains timeless. The seat is so blindingly white that you might never feel like you're clean enough to sit behind the wheel, and the matching door panels are so beautifully detailed that you'll admire them every time you get in the car. Freshly rebuilt gauges in a bright engine-turned panel give you the full Thunderbird experience, and you'll note that modern A/C has been neatly and almost invisibly integrated into the dash. It also includes an AM/FM radio that does a pretty good impersonation of the original unit, as well as a white porthole hardtop with stand. 1956's spare tire moved back inside the trunk, where it's surrounded by a correct mat and a proper jack assembly. The engine is a D-code 312 cubic inch Y-block V8 topped by a 4-barrel carburetor and making 245 horsepower. Marvelously detailed with Ford Red on the block, a Thunderbird dress-up kit with finned valve covers, and a chrome air cleaner, this is a special engine bay that demands to be shown off. Expertly detailed for show, the only non-original components are those for the A/C system, but the installation is so clean and professional that most folks probably won't even notice. The exhaust manifolds have been refinished and treated to a protective ceramic coating, and feed a correct dual exhaust system with outlets in the rear bumper. The chassis is completely detailed and ready for show with just a quick wipe-down, and with a 3-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission, it's a pleasure to drive. Gorgeous Kelsey-Hayes chrome wire wheels are a desirable option, and wear 7.80-14 wide whites to complete the look. Stunning is the only word for cars like this Thunderbird. Available at a discount, this is pure 1950s fun that couldn't be duplicated for anywhere near the asking price. You probably haven't seen many like this, and with a great-running small block V8, nicely upgraded interior, and a distinct lack of excess flash, it's a very cool cruiser that will get attention merely by being so tastefully done. It was repainted some years ago in its original code 936 Ermine White, which actually works rather well on the chiseled Chevelle bodywork. It stands proudly next to the Impalas with its more advanced and updated design and the smaller size gives it a more sporting demeanor that the Impala lacks, which is a big plus in our book. It's muscular. Finish quality is decent, with a few touch ups and a few signs of use, and you'll never be afraid of showing it at local events. Better yet, people will be giving you appreciative thumbs-up gestures everywhere you go in this car and guys at shows will come up and remark that they've never seen this body style before. It's also thankfully saved from being yet another fake SS, which gives it an honest look that works quite well. The bumpers are new, the chrome trim and stainless window moldings are in great shape, and both doors shut easily, suggesting a car that's led an easy life. The rest of the stuff is a nice combination of original and replacement pieces that work well together, with nothing standing out as either too fresh or too old. The interior has been given a fairly comprehensive makeover, starting with a pair of late-model bucket seats up front. The original console is still in the middle, making this an interesting car from an options standpoint, and you'll find it's easy to get comfortable behind the wheel. That wheel is a later Chevy piece that should look familiar and the factory gauges have cool stainless faces that are the epitome of early '60s cool. A trio of auxiliary gauges hang under the dash and the shifter is a cool Hurst "his-n-hers" setup that makes this car a lot of fun to drive. There's an AM/FM radio in the dash, so you're not stuck listening to whatever's still playing on AM and the handsome back seat has plenty of room for a few friends. The trunk is outfitted with a correct mat and full-sized spare, and you'll note that the floors are pretty danged clean, too. Borrowed from an early '80s Monte Carlo, the 305 cubic inch V8 under the hood is a nice upgrade from the original 283, offering more power and torque to make this coupe a bit more entertaining. Topped by a 4-barrel Edelbrock carb and fired by an HEI ignition system, it's smooth and powerful, yet easy and inexpensive to maintain. The engine bay is quite tidy, with clean inner fenders and lots of new parts, including the power brake booster and master cylinder, alternator, and chrome valve covers. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic and a 10-bolt rear end, and one glance underneath will demonstrate that even entry-level cars don't need to be rough. There's a recent dual exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers, plus a new gas tank, so you can hit the road without worries. And classic Rally wheels are always the right choice, with these wrapped in 205/70/15 blackwall radials. Made to withstand all the punishment that a commercial vehicle needs to tolerate, this 1994 Chevrolet Silverado pickup appears to have led a very pampered existence. There may not be a nicer one, leading us to wonder if it's time for the Silverado to become a genuine collector vehicle. With a great look, V8 power, and remarkable originality, this low-mileage (6,052 actual miles to be exact) survivor deserves your full attention. Black will always be the toughest finish to maintain but year in and out it is always one of the top color choices when you want to impress. Combined with the regular cab and stepside bed, the truck has a sporty demeanor and a great look. It remains in outstanding condition for being more than 20 years old, and the shiny paint has weathered the years far better than most GM products of the era, needing nothing more than a buff to really look great. There are no notable blemishes, no major road rash, just a few signs of use here and there, and it's obvious that someone really loved this truck. There was never a great deal of chrome fitted to these workhorses but what is there remains in good condition. Few trucks wear the stepside bed better than the C10, and I would happily trade the reduced capacity for the awesome look every time. Slip inside and have a seat. Twin captain's chairs make this a first-class way to haul your gear and the gray cloth upholstery looks immaculately maintained. Because this is a Silverado it is optioned with several creature comforts, including air conditioning which still blows ice cold, plus an AM/FM/CD stereo, cruise control, power windows, locks, and seats, and a tilt wheel are all at your fingertips, further blurring the line between blue and white collar transportation. And we haven't forgotten that this is a truck with a half- ton load capacity and so power steering and power brakes make it all manageable. The dash pad isn't cracked, the carpets are protected by heavy-duty mats, and the center console offers plenty of storage for a few extra items along the way. Given the condition of the interior, we're thinking the mileage shown is pretty likely to be original. Open the hood and inspect the nicely detailed engine bay. This Silverado is equipped with the 350 cubic inch V8 that has been fitted to everything from Camaros to, well, pickup trucks. There are plenty of aftermarket performance enhancements for those of you that like to modify your ride's performance, thanks to the longevity and the multi -model placement of this motor. Still, more than enough power available if you choose to leave the motor bone stock like this one, which looks like it just rolled out of the showroom. The 4-speed automatic transmission is also performing without complaint and there isn't a better transmission available to mate to the 350; after all, nobody really wants a manual transmission in their truck, do they? Have a look at the super clean undercarriage, where you'll find no secrets, thanks to a lifetime in a warm climate, and again, it offers more proof of this truck's remarkable low mileage promise. Chrome wheels add some flash to the black pickup, endowing it with a sporty demeanor, and it carries 235/75/15 Toyo radials all around, perhaps only the second set of tires this truck has ever worn. Awesome flathead power, a great old-fashioned look, and all the charm that comes with a vintage pickup, this neat Ford is a great combination of old school and smart upgrades. The flowing fenders and upright cab scream 1930s, and with Ford, the trucks didn't quite mirror the cars, so it has a very upright look that's also quite appealing. The painted radiator shell, neat louvered hood with badges, and handsome beltline moldings all suggest that they were interested in making this pickup attractive as well as functional. The monochromatic paint job is a few years old and gives the truck a sunny disposition that's hard not to like. Workmanship is good all around and everything fits about the way it would have in 1934. The bed is filled with oak that's far nicer than anything the factory was doing back then, but otherwise it's pretty much what you got for your $500 or so. Marker lights on the front fenders help with visibility and incorporate turn signals for safety, and there's a period spotlight on the cowl, which is a nice touch. The big side mirrors are a bit rustic, but I'm pretty sure that's the whole point of this truck. The interior is 1934 Ford, upgraded and sophisticated in a way that they didn't bother with back in the day. The bench seat wears handsome blue cloth instead of leatherette upholstery, there are carpets on the floor instead of a rubber mat, and a modern steering wheel was stacked atop the original steering column for a slightly updated look. Wood trim on the dash and doors warms up the interior and gives the bare-bones pickup a touch of class, and a variety of upgraded gauges keep an eye on the warmed-over flathead up front. Fitted with a few hop-up parts, it's still the same rugged, reliable, and downright entertaining powerplant that it's been for decades. It's from a 1949 Ford, so it's a bit more modern than the original 85-horsepower unit, and with log-style exhaust manifolds, dual exhaust with glasspack-style mufflers, 8BA heads, and a front-mounted distributor, it offers the combination of parts that has been sorted out for years. It has a bubbly, torquey feel that's extremely entertaining on the road, and the rugged feeling of the original suspension only reinforces that old-time vibe. The chassis is very much 1934, including the 3-speed manual transmission and banjo-style rear end, and if not for the chrome wheels with baby moon hubcaps and 205/75/15 radials, it would be a totally authentic ride.
