Now, after years of service and a top notch cosmetic restoration, this LTD has to be one of the cleanest and nicest original Police cars available for purchase anywhere. ALL of this LTDs original police equipment is present and in excellent working order. Even cooler, its stalwart special order 5.0L Mustang V8 is loaded for bear and ready to hit the road. If you’re looking for a unique collector car that will start a conversation anywhere you take it, this LTD police car is your hot ticket. Redesigned for the 1983 model year, the final generation American LTD utilized Ford’s venerable Fox platform to perfect a ‘downsized’ police car formula which began with the 1978 Fairmont. Because of its rear wheel drive layout and available V8, the LTD offered a variety of niche models that its front wheel drive cross-town rivals simply couldn’t compete with. One of those niche models was the 1984-85 LTD police package which combined the Mustangs 5.0 liter V8 with an enhanced suspension package from the LTD LX to create what many cops referred to as ‘the four door Mustang’. With a top speed of 123 MPH and a durable, performance proven platform, these tough little police cars were great at catching speeders and firmly established Ford as a leader in the fiercely loyal police market. An official looking solid black car seems to be the prototypical vehicle of most law enforcement agencies, surpassed only by white in terms of popularity; which is most likely due to cheaper cost. Exceptionally maintained throughout its entire life and likely refurbished at some point as a public relations show piece, this vintage, real deal police car is in outstanding, era correct condition. Deep and glossy black lacquer paint hints that a detailed cosmetic restoration was likely completed many years ago (meaning the car probably spent very little time getting beat up on the streets before it was retired to show status) and its weather stripping is supple, its doors close tightly and there are no rattles or squeaks anywhere to be found. The car’s rust free body is as straight as when it left the factory displaying no blemishes or parking lot dings and its rich black paint is devoid of any major flaws. Based on appearance alone, it’s safe to assume this LTD was one lucky car which didn’t see much extreme use at all and, since its restoration, likely hasn’t been outside of a garage for more than a few hours at a time. Hello and Welcome to our auction of this fantastic running/driving 1998 Aston Martin DB7! This Aston runs very well and can be driven home by anyone. The i6 is the most dependable Aston on the market in my opinion as well as others of greater knowledge!!! Here today is my personal 1998 Aston Martin DB7 Supercharged i6 for sale!! Please know I am not a dealer nor a professional mechanic but just an extremely huge fan of exotic cars like this since I first saw Goldfinger and The Italian Job (1969 version)! This is the 3rd Aston I've owned and it's by far the best sports car out of the 22 or so exotics I've owned over the past 30 years!! This DB7 has approximately 75K low, well maintained miles; (subject to change as I drive the car weekly as it's so very dependable!!!) Miles are correct but SC law made me list it as exempt on the new SC Title due to some changes in laws pertaining to cars of this age and the fact the original miles on the previous title from California were hand written in the provided space on the title. Please look at the carfax report to see the mileage is correct!! This beautiful black DB7 has the supercharged inline 6 cyl which is more than powerful enough for daily driving fun!! It has new Suede black headliner installed and pillars are gray suede! The carpet is black wool it appears with the seats being fine gray leather with black trim in places!! Seats are fully electric and are heated which is nice here in the Southeast!! I've done very little to the car over the past year as it simply needed nothing other than routine oil changes, tune up, etc. I changed the spark plugs about 3K miles ago as well as having my mechanic look over the engine to decide it was in need of nothing but an oil change and a new radiator cap as the original one had a rubber seal that didn't look so great! This car Never overheats, no oil drips, idles smooth and quiet, A/C works, Heat works but not so great (common issue with this model Aston) has the original Alpine CD-2000 Six Disc changer in the trunk, also original 1998 GPS/NAVIGATION!!, HEATED SEATS!, Security Alarm, cruise control, and more! Also, this Aston had a special 1998 cellular phone charger installed in the arm rest! I imagine this would have been nice back in 1998, yet now it was of no use whatsoever!! So being a prop builder and artist, I decided to add what Q might have worked up for this Aston, if there had been a James Bond movie in 1998 or so. My two small boys absolutely love the Johnny English movies so while watching with them one rainy day, I noticed the blue Vantage V12 he drove had a nice setup of gadgets to fit perfectly as the consoles are the same in the Vantage vs. this DB7. In addition to the small gadget box.....I also built the small yellow rockets and firing tubes which are simple for display at car shows. I did this just for fun and the kids really enjoyed it. When the young boys to teens stop but that have never seen an Aston in real life....it just sort of makes it that much more special....so please know I did this for a smile! :) I know the car was never used in a Bond movie. :) I just really enjoy showing the car to kids and not keeping it hidden away all year. This car brings lots of smiles to everyone it seems! All the prop gadgets I put on this car are just for show. The lights on the console panel can be wired to light up.....I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Top Speed is approximately165mph I've read online but I buy/drive cars like this simply because I love the history of the Astons and the fact they're one of the most beautiful cars on the road. You will certainly be stopped at almost every gas station or restaurant by onlookers wanting to know more about the car. Seems I have someone filming the car in motion almost every couple of weeks too! I feel it’s also important to understand this is one of more RARE Aston Martin DB7 COUPES and not the common convertible DB7’s. The Aston DB7 i6 has been hailed as one of the most beautiful and trouble-free Astons you could ever own!!! Unlike the Vantage V12 which requires a $1500 mechanic visit just to change the spark plugs and do a standard tune-up as all 12 plugs are extremely difficult to remove. I changed the spark plugs on this DB7 i6 engine in less than 30 mins......and I ordered the proper Aston Plugs from the UK. Aston Martin only sent around 67 of these to the USA back in 1998 so being LHD and a coupe makes it quite rare here in the states!! I was told it was the only 1998 DB7 coupe in the state of South Carolina!!! Very dependable and it's my daily driver even though some days it’s just to the post office that’s 1 mile from home. J . Car was approximately $148 Thousand dollars when new in 1998 and I imagine the coupes will increase in value even more once they hit the 25 year old mark!! Please........serious bidders ONLY!! My time is valuable!! The winning bidder is 100% responsible for getting the car shipped to his location OR……..fly in and drive it home!! I have driven this car from SC to VA and SC to GA a few times and it drives GREAT on long trips!! Four hours straight from SC to VA and this Aston never gave any problems except I kept wanting to drive a bit faster at times. I had the car shipped from California to South Carolina back in August 2015 for around 850.00. BODYWORK/TRIM Sealed in Subaru's sophisticated Sunlight Gold Opal, this slick Chevrolet is the beneficiary of an extensive, ground-up restoration that was conducted by Street Metal Fabrication of Greenville, South Carolina. In addition to better-than-factory alignment, the car's body features super sinuous appeal thanks to fully shaved emblems. That body's combination of form, fit and flash is reinforced by high-gloss clear, which, during the finishing phase, was sanded to a mirror-like shine. And that world-class look is completed by custom striping that our production team likes to call "bray"; a pigment that displays a small hint of brown while maintaining just the right amount of gray to complement the car's custom leather interior. The greatest thing about building a massaged fifth generation Bel Air is: the subdued look most street rod enthusiasts strive for is pretty much standard factory fare. At the front of this fully sorted full-size, a shaved and chromed grille rides between chromed headlight buckets, modern H4 torches and a modified bumper. Above that grille, a factory hood leads the eye to a custom cowl that trades factory windshield wipers for functional breathing. Behind that hood, straight stainless trim shapes curved greenhouse glass. Below that trim, chrome side spears ride between shaved mirrors and traditional GM door handles. And at the back of those spears, modified taillights illuminate a custom, 1-piece bumper that's been professionally tucked and smoothed. ENGINE Hoist this Chevy's sculpted hood and you'll find a positively massive V8 that's been skillfully wedged in a custom Sunlight Gold Opal engine compartment. Carefully assembled and professionally detailed, that brutal stoplight slayer utilizes a stroker crank, a flat tappet cam and Dart Engineering casing to transform 598 cubic inches of red hot combustion into 10 to 1 compression and 800 horsepower! A perfect amount of oxygen flows from a custom-fabricated cowl induction system to an 850cfm Quick Fuel Technology carburetor. That wind mixes with fuel in a coated intake and progresses to aluminum Pro-Filer heads that are built with flat tappet lifters and tough roller rocker arms. Immediately following combustion, which is sourced via an aftermarket distributor and familiar Taylor plug wires, spent gases roar through custom-fabricated headers. Charge comes courtesy of a satin-finished alternator that, like the car's satin AC compressor, spins on a high quality Vintage Air accessory drive. Cooling is provided by a big Griffin radiator that's backed by Flex-a-Lite puller fans and a proven Stewart water pump. And items like billet hood hinges, fabricated valve covers, a satin-finished fuel pump and trick dipsticks enhance subdued and classy aesthetics. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION We've said it time and time again, and the old adage still proves true. A pro-tourer simply isn't an authentic pro-tourer unless its significant power enhancements are augmented by significant chassis hardware. That's the only way 100% of the car's performance potential will ever be realized. This Bel Air's spry big block is, first and foremost, augmented by a custom-fabricated perimeter chassis that replaces GM's venerable X-frame. At the center of that chassis, a fresh Tremec 5-speed makes good use of a hydraulic clutch. When that clutch grabs, a fresh driveshaft twists a narrowed Moser rear end, which seats an Eaton posi-traction differential between RideTech coil-over-shocks. Turns come courtesy of modern power steering, which seats an AGR gearbox between Bilstein coil-over-shocks. Smooth and solid stops are provided by multi-piston Wilwood calipers, which squeeze four drilled and slotted rotors. Spent gases flow in to custom pipes and throaty Flowmaster mufflers. Power meets the pavement through polished Schott wheels, which spin 225/45R19 Goodyear Eagle RS-As in front of 275/45R20 Goodyear Eagle GTIIs. And everything from this Chevy's custom oil pan to its Sunlight Gold Opal floors is expertly finished, superbly detailed and ready for action. INTERIOR Behind the car's lightweight doors, it's all Paul Atkins. Custom leather seats, which wear metallic piping over polished buttons, are configured in a typical bench and bucket layout. From the driver's perch, a Paul Atkins dash hangs an impressive array of Classic Instruments All American gauges above billet foot pedals, pushbutton ignition and Vintage Air climate control. Beneath that dash, fibrous carpet frames a custom console that anchors a simple chrome shifter behind iPod-compatible Clarion audio. Opposite that console, leather side panels center billet door and window handles between large kick speakers and custom metal trim. In front of the driver, a 2-tone steering wheel spins around a convenient, tilting column. And behind the passengers, a custom package tray hangs over a fully upholstered trunk that features ample storage and display space. The car's frame-off transformation began when long-time Chevelle buff Jim Germann completely acid dipped its solid body in preparation for some minor rust repair. Once that body re-emerged and air cured, Jim bolted up a new hood, welded in a new trunk pan and blended a few small patches below its rear window and at the bottom of its right quarter panel. Eventually, with the car patched, prepped and ready to go, the world class technicians at Wooding's Auto Body in Roanoke, Virginia seamed a thick coat of primer with POR 15 rust inhibitor and sprayed a spectacular coat of correct GM code F Marina Blue paint under a glossy clearcoat shell. And today, this top notch Chevelle is as a spectacular muscle car which combines the best aspects of big block Chevrolet performance with the gratuitous fun and old school style that only a classic can provide! When it comes to classic cars a lot of people simply don't understand the true meaning of the word "concours". Make no mistake, in this context the word does indeed still refer to the assembly of a bunch of different elements. However, that traditional meaning is augmented by the added significance of both "original" and "perfect"; as in, getting the car as close to original and perfect as humanly possible. That means the significance of a showpiece like this Chevelle, which has had all its original trim fully restored or replaced with true NOS pieces, cannot be taken lightly. At the front of this bright blue trophy winner you'll find a black, body-width grille which hangs a fresh and prominent "SS396" emblem between small AACA plaques, four halogen headlights and an original, re-chromed bumper. At the top of the car, a pristine Super Sport hood props a chrome center spear and chrome SS396 louvers in front of all new glass that's framed by dent-free stainless trim, cleared by familiar stainless wipers and capped by fresh stainless drip rails. At the sides of the car ribbed rocker guards, fade-free fender trim and obligatory chrome door handles combine with detailed cross-flag emblems, a correct chrome mirror and monochromatic "Super Sport" scripts to detail a tasteful, conservative profile. And at the back of the car, a traditional black valence centers a wide-set "CHEVELLE" script between a second "SS396" emblem, crystal clear tail lights and a second re-chromed bumper. If you wanted a top of the line Chevelle in 1966 you had one option: 396 cubic inches of big block Detroit iron! Rolling out of the factory with stout 10.25 to 1 compression, an impressive 325 horsepower and a massive 410 lb./ft. of torque, this Super Sport's original L35 V8 wears a correct "EH" suffix stamp and a matching 104519 partial VIN in front of a correct 3855961 casting number. At the top of that big engine, oxygen is forced into a fully detailed single snorkel air cleaner which rides on an old school 4-barrel carburetor and a cast iron intake manifold. At the sides of that intake spotless chrome valve covers reflect fresh Packard Radio TVRS wires above correct heads and fully restored exhaust manifolds. At the back of those valve covers, a reproduction points distributor rides between a rebuilt wiper motor, an NOS GM coil and a rebuilt and re-plated power brake booster. At the opposite end of the engine bay a re-cored radiator sends coolant around a shrouded, 4-blade fan via reproduction GM hoses and a full set of tower clamps. And at the side of that radiator, spark is supplied by a reproduction Delco battery which is spliced into to all new wiring and all new harnesses. Naturally the car's satin black engine bay, which consists of powder coated NOS fenders and a powder coated NOS core support, is 100% correct and looks great. Its Chevy Orange block, which has been bored .030 over and fitted with stock valve seats, still features original California smog equipment that adds both value and collectability. And everything from the car's rebuilt, original horns to its powder coated brackets and powder coated pulleys displays the kind of excellent attention to detail that ensures both big points and great performance. Underneath this rock solid A-Body 'better-than-new' is the prevalent theme with freshly over-restored floors, which are covered in a super slick coat of gloss black paint, hanging over a spotless and highly detailed chassis. Behind the car's stout big block a correct Muncie M20 4-speed transmission sends power from an 11 inch clutch and a polished 11 inch bellhousing to a rebuilt 12 bolt Posi-traction rear end that's equipped with easy driving 3.31 gears. Holding that killer drivetrain off the ground is a completely restored factory suspension that's been thoroughly sandblasted and layered in a durable coat of epoxy paint. And correct power steering combines with correct, and fully rebuilt, power drum brakes to provide greatly improved turns and modern car stops. At the center of the floors, the big engine's restored manifolds dump spent gases into an aluminized true dual exhaust system that's complete with factory replacement turbo mufflers. At the corners of the floors, rare 14 inch steel wheels spin 7.75-14 BF Goodrich Silvertown redlines around pristine dog dish hubcaps. And naturally the bottom of this first class Chevelle is as pristine as it is spotless, with everything from the car's new stainless fuel tank to its correct spiral shocks completely detailed for both show and go! Pop this Super Sport's sculpted doors open and you'll find a correct GM code 763 black imitation leather interior which is, for the most part, exactly how it rolled out of the factory. The car's correct front bucket and rear bench seats, which were rebuilt with fresh foam, wrapped in new seat covers and bolted to freshly powder coated brackets, show virtually no wear at all. In front of those seats a warp-free dash hangs rebuilt gauges and a correct Delco AM/FM radio above a rebuilt tachometer and a slick pair of NOS kick panels. Below that dash a great looking console frames a chrome floor shifter and a correct clock in pristine stainless trim. And below that console, like-new carpet perfectly complements a complete set of NOS Fisher lap belts. In front of the driver, an original GM steering wheel and an NOS rearview mirror provide an authentic motoring experience. At the sides of the cockpit, fade-free black door panels center pristine stainless trim and new chrome handles around straight and pliable armrests. And behind the passengers, an optional rear speaker tops a fully restored trunk that includes a correct mat, a full-size spare tire and correct decklid decals.
