Completed on the 19th of September 1962, 157310 was purchased new at Pon's Porsche Import of Holland (famous as the first Porsche importer in the world), on September 28, 1962, optioned to a T with complete LEATHER upholstery for cabriolet, equipment such as ARMREST, LEATHER HEADREST with fittings, OUTSIDE MIRROR, INSIDE ANTI-GLARE MIRROR, FLOOR MATS, safety belts, DELUXE HORN RING travelling kit, touch-up paint dispenser, 2 brown luggage straps for luggage space, Becker Europa radio with 2 loudspeakers and antenna, jack, spare wheel, tool case and cover for cabriolet. M.A, Basinger of Denver, Colorado took delivery of his Porsche at the dealership, where it would receive its first inspection and lubrication before being brought back to Colorado with him. An original service book for the car shows additional receipts for later servicings at Jesse Boyce Motors of Grand Junction, Colorado. Other original booklets to this car include a May 1962 Porsche accessories price-list with individual options circled and its 1962 edition Driver's Manual in plastic sleeve. Throughout the better portion of 1992, a complete nut-and-bolt restoration was commissioned for "Buttercup" to its current presentation by restorer Gary Balzer of Hanford, California. The car was purchased from a dealer as a lease return and it was the special ocassion car, always garaged and serviced by the book. I have read that these are the best Jaguar's built and 2005 was the new design year.The car has most options other than the 20" wheels. The only flaws are 2 tiny door scuffs on the right quarter and on on the left, the right wheels have a little curb rub and the lower part of the front bumper has some scrapes from her driveway. The paint is all original from what I observed and has never been in any accidents while in her possession. The interior looks good, I saw only light wear on the seats and no scuffs on the door panels or anywhere else inside. The spare tire has never been used and the tires have plenty of tread for a summer of enjoyment. The car is really clean underneath and chassis is immaculate, we don't have harsh weather here so no corrosion of any kind. All books and manuals as well as 2 sets of keys. A color you don't see often and it will keep you cooler in the summer.There is a Buy-It-Now, it was arrived upon by many factors and is fair for both parties. If you want to make an offer I will contact her as she has the final say. I welcome inspections, the car is located in Hanford, CA (about 45 min from me) and can be viewed by appointment. The owner of the car can't drive so trades are of no interest. The winning bidder will receive a California title, clear of any liens with the car.
