best original paint, low mileage example available. It is an exceptional car in original condition, nicely equipped and beautifully presented. 1966 Ford Mustang GT 289 4v V8 VIN: 6R07A216529 Body 65B Sauterne Gold Metallic with Ivy Gold & White Pony Interior The Mustang, one of America’s most popular cars, was slightly restyled for 1966. Most noticeably, a floating horse was added to the front grille. Other changes for 1966 included a redesigned gas cap, bright hood lip molding on all models, standard rocker panel moldings (except on the 2+2), standard back-up lights, redesigned side chrome spires (which were deleted on the GTs and those with accent pinstripes) and revised style steel wheels that included a chrome trim. Different upholstery patterns and colors were available in the interior of the 1966 along with a five-dial instrument cluster. Padded sun visors were standard on every Mustang. This Mustang GT Coupe is from an estate sale. It is an all original San Diego, California car with the original sales contract and all records since new. Well optioned with GT Package (includes Fog lights, dual exhaust fitted through valance, 289 A Code 4 barrel V8, special handling package and GT stripes), Pony interior, C4 automatic transmission, front disc brakes, console, wood steering wheel, Air Conditioning (works well), Rally pack gages, rare Ford factory 8 Track/ AM Radio, remote mirror, power steering, and rally GT Wheels with redline tires.. The GT is a unique all original example with a wonderful history. It was purchased new by a Career Navy Officer in San Diego on August 12 1966. His care for this car was well beyond normal. We were told it was never washed with water, only carefully wiped down. The first time the car was seen was in 2004, shown by his widow after his death. The car was carefully kept and completely covered in wool blankets in the underground garage of their retirement apartment building. After his death the wife had a family friend drop by monthly to drive the GT a few miles. It is all Ford original paint with the exception of an older touch up of the right front fender. (There is no evidence of prior damage to this area) The Mustang has no parking lot dings or scratches. The outstanding light ivy gold crinkle and white crinkle (Trim Code 68A) pony interior is all original and looks new. The car has 75,000 miles but could pass for 35,000 miles. It is that original and nice. There are many Mustangs available at any given time. However, to find one in this original preserved condition is truly an opportunity for someone who wants the best. Another interesting note is the added tags under the hood that read "Shelby Enterprises Engine Number 25987 8/17/66" and an added Shelby round emblem to the front grille pony. The meaning of these has not been verified as the owner is deceased and his wife had no knowledge of this. However the date of the tags is only 5 days after he took delivery of the car new. The documentation with the Mustang does not contain any records from Shelby indicating any service or modifications. Impala hit the streets with a trim, sleek, style, and it was an instant hit with now iconic styling. The convertible Impalas were the one to own with a lot of chrome, with a stunningly clean profile, restrained use of bright work, and performance. This amazing 1961 Impala convertible underwent a 2-year frame-off restoration that addressed virtually every nut and bolt on the car. The Impala was assembled at the California plant and has the correct paint and interiors codes per the trim tag. From the show-quality white paint, powder coated frame, new factory red and white interior, and the 350c.i. engine, the convertible is a magnificent automobile that defines the word cool. The fact that it looks like a custom is testament to both the designers' original vision and the quality of the restoration. Every panel was straightened and aligned, every surface was hand-sanded, and several gallons of PPG Ermine White urethane were applied to give this car the look it has today. The depth of the finish is simply astounding. While white often hides details, on this Impala it seems to enhance. The chrome and stainless trim on this car is perfect. The sweeping side trims with the red insert makes the paint look astounding. On the rear of the Impala is stainless trim that kicks up from the sweep panel and outlines the trunk opening. Those six round tail lights were an Impala trademark and the crossed-flag emblems represented performance since the Corvette debuted nearly a decade earlier. This car is also fitted with all-new glass, fresh weather stripping, and show-quality chrome. The Chevrolet engine was completely rebuilt. It is a 1972 350 cubic inch four bolt main with a Holley four barrel carburetor, Edelbrock aluminum intake and dressed up with finned aluminum valve covers. The street-friendly camshaft ensures that it's easy to drive and doesn't get cranky during the low-speed cruises. Included are a new starter, HEI distributor, alternator, and power steering pump. There is a large Be-Cool aluminum radiator that keeps everything cool. A new aluminized dual exhaust system and mufflers completes the package. The paint work inside the engine bay was painted and detailed with factory correct finishes. The transmission is a new rebuilt Power Glide with a new torque converter. The front suspension is all new to include ball joints, tie rods, control arm, springs, and sway bar bushings. New shocks and brakes all around. The original rear was fully rebuilt, including new bearings and seals, and hangs on a fully rebuilt suspension featuring new coil springs and new shocks. The frame and floors have been powder coated for durability. There is no sign of rust or damage anywhere on the undercarriage. The new brakes are power assisted with a new dual bowl master cylinder and booster. The finishing touch is a new set of G78/14 Coker Classic Wide Whitewalls on the stock power coated wheels with Impala hub caps. The beautiful new original type red and white interior is stunning. The original working gauges remain in the dash. All complete new wiring harness was installed front to back. The Impala retains its beautiful iconic red and white original steering wheel. A new Custom Auto Sound USA-630 stereo radio with CD player is mounted high in the original location in the center of the dashboard with modern custom speaker’s front and rear. A rear antenna completes the package. The new original door panels with their silver inserts are also stunning. The new red salt and pepper carpet features the original nap and weave. The trunk has been finished as when new with spare wheel, tire, jack, tools and mats. The convertible has a new Hartz top, boot, and weather stripping. The cost this restoration was well into six-figures, and it shows in every single component being as close to perfect as it can possibly be. The engine delivers impressive performance and it cruises effortlessly at high speeds. Convertible Impalas have always been highly-sought cars and this one makes it easy to understand why. The coupe is in superb shape and is nicely equipped and beautifully presented. 1978 was the first year Pontiac offered the WS6 package in the Pontiac Trans Am. It included a larger diameter sway bar, tighter steering box gear ratio, bigger and wider radial tires and 15-by-8-inch snowflake rims. Pontiac stylists continued with the dramatic “Batmobile” nose. Also beginning in 1978, Pontiac engineers reversed years of declining power by raising the compression ratio in the Pontiac 400 through the installation of different cylinder heads with smaller combustion chambers. Not only had horsepower returned to be a good word in the Pontiac’s vocabulary, handling was also a focus. No longer were cars being built for the carefree days of cruising down endless interstates.
