I live in St Augustine, but am in Melbourne every weekend, so could meet in north or central Florida. I'm the second owner and honestly just bought the car six months ago. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it - I basically just wanted a newer car for my commute and although I can afford it (well, not technically - thanks Dave Ramsey!), the luster has worn off and I'd rather save the car payment money. I currently drive 40k miles a year and that is about to double! The car is getting me the mileage that I expected - my 6 month / 16k mile average is a hand calculated 45.5mpg - and this is 90% interstate! Thanks to the warmer weather and the move away from winter fuel, my last 5 tanks have averaged over 47mpg. I wish I drove more city, b/c it performs even better!! My main issue is I am having second thoughts on driving a newer car like this into the ground w/ my commute. I also have an older VW TDI and it's long been paid off. I was going to sell it, but I'll "ruin" it instead and save the car payment money for repairs down the road. Like I said, there is nothing wrong with the Prius. It currently has 83k miles and may go up slightly. I honestly searched for several months to find it. There were five packages offered for this model year - I, II, III, IV and V. This is the top of the line V. So that means it has 17" wheels, proximity keyless entry (never take the key out of your pocket - doors unlock as you walk up and it has push button start), navigation, satellite radio, bluetooth, backup camera, heated leather seats, power lumbar in the seats, pop-up headlight washers and LED headlights (not HID.....LED!!). On top of ALLLL of that, it has the rare Advanced Technology Package. This is truly why I bought the car. With my commute on the interstate, it gets pretty boring. Boring can be unsafe. The ATP includes adaptive cruise control (it slows or speeds up with traffic), lane keep assist (it will beep if you drift and even steer the car to stay in your lane!) and also has automatic parking (parallel and backing in - my girlfriend loves this option). It literally has every option offered for the car (Toyota offered a solar powered roof, but only on IV models - not V - I have no idea why). As you can see in the pictures, the windows are tinted. It was factory maintained by the original owners and the only things I have done is change the oil with Mobil 1 full synthetic and add a K&N air filter (15-20k mile filter changes could add up, so I bought this solely for economics). The tires were new when I bought it, so I sold the factory wheels and had a set of black and polished 17" mesh wheels installed. In my opinion, it is one of the best looking Prius that I have ever seen. I have a clean CarFax from when I bought it. There are no title issues. My credit union holds the title, but I have bought and sold a lot of cars over the years and it is a painless process with them. I'm just looking to get what I owe on it, so $16.5 is where I am right now. We can draft a Bill of Sale and send your payment overnight to the credit union. They will then overnight the title to you....at least this is how it has worked in the past. It's been a few years since I have sold a car that I owed money on. And at one point, with a full list of body styles, options, trim grades, color combinations, and mild to outrageous engines, the challenge became picking a platform which optimized variety and livability. Whoever checked the options sheet for this investment grade 1966 Super Sport probably came as close as you can get to having it all. Its original big block 396 V8 is a go-to heavyweight for both stoplight brawlers and drag strip warriors. Its correct Muncie 4-speed transmission is as spirited as it is reliable. And its super slick Marina Blue on black color combination literally defines the word classic. If you're in the market for a top notch example of one of the best Chevrolets ever produced, this national award winner is just the car you've been looking for! As Chevelle enthusiasts, we all know it can be very hard to prove the authenticity of Chevrolet's most famous muscle car. Fortunately the record keepers won a small victory in 1966 and every one of Chevrolet's coveted SS396 cars received a specially sequenced vehicle identification number. The car's frame-off transformation began when long-time Chevelle buff Jim Germann completely acid dipped its solid body in preparation for some minor rust repair. Once that body re-emerged and air cured, Jim bolted up a new hood, welded in a new trunk pan and blended a few small patches below its rear window and at the bottom of its right quarter panel. Eventually, with the car patched, prepped and ready to go, the world class technicians at Wooding's Auto Body in Roanoke, Virginia seamed a thick coat of primer with POR 15 rust inhibitor and sprayed a spectacular coat of correct GM code F Marina Blue paint under a glossy clearcoat shell. And today, this top notch Chevelle is as a spectacular muscle car which combines the best aspects of big block Chevrolet performance with the gratuitous fun and old school style that only a classic can provide! When it comes to classic cars a lot of people simply don't understand the true meaning of the word "concours". Make no mistake, in this context the word does indeed still refer to the assembly of a bunch of different elements. However, that traditional meaning is augmented by the added significance of both "original" and "perfect"; as in, getting the car as close to original and perfect as humanly possible. That means the significance of a showpiece like this Chevelle, which has had all its original trim fully restored or replaced with true NOS pieces, cannot be taken lightly. At the front of this bright blue trophy winner you'll find a black, body-width grille which hangs a fresh and prominent "SS396" emblem between small AACA plaques, four halogen headlights and an original, re-chromed bumper. At the top of the car, a pristine Super Sport hood props a chrome center spear and chrome SS396 louvers in front of all new glass that's framed by dent-free stainless trim, cleared by familiar stainless wipers and capped by fresh stainless drip rails. At the sides of the car ribbed rocker guards, fade-free fender trim and obligatory chrome door handles combine with detailed cross-flag emblems, a correct chrome mirror and monochromatic "Super Sport" scripts to detail a tasteful, conservative profile. And at the back of the car, a traditional black valence centers a wide-set "CHEVELLE" script between a second "SS396" emblem, crystal clear tail lights and a second re-chromed bumper. If you wanted a top of the line Chevelle in 1966 you had one option: 396 cubic inches of big block Detroit iron! Rolling out of the factory with stout 10.25 to 1 compression, an impressive 325 horsepower and a massive 410 lb./ft. of torque, this Super Sport's original L35 V8 wears a correct "EH" suffix stamp and a matching 104519 partial VIN in front of a correct 3855961 casting number. At the top of that big engine, oxygen is forced into a fully detailed single snorkel air cleaner which rides on an old school 4-barrel carburetor and a cast iron intake manifold. At the sides of that intake spotless chrome valve covers reflect fresh Packard Radio TVRS wires above correct heads and fully restored exhaust manifolds. At the back of those valve covers, a reproduction points distributor rides between a rebuilt wiper motor, an NOS GM coil and a rebuilt and re-plated power brake booster. At the opposite end of the engine bay a re-cored radiator sends coolant around a shrouded, 4-blade fan via reproduction GM hoses and a full set of tower clamps. And at the side of that radiator, spark is supplied by a reproduction Delco battery which is spliced into to all new wiring and all new harnesses. Naturally the car's satin black engine bay, which consists of powder coated NOS fenders and a powder coated NOS core support, is 100% correct and looks great. Its Chevy Orange block, which has been bored .030 over and fitted with stock valve seats, still features original California smog equipment that adds both value and collectability. And everything from the car's rebuilt, original horns to its powder coated brackets and powder coated pulleys displays the kind of excellent attention to detail that ensures both big points and great performance. Underneath this rock solid A-Body 'better-than-new' is the prevalent theme with freshly over-restored floors, which are covered in a super slick coat of gloss black paint, hanging over a spotless and highly detailed chassis. Behind the car's stout big block a correct Muncie M20 4-speed transmission sends power from an 11 inch clutch and a polished 11 inch bellhousing to a rebuilt 12 bolt Posi-traction rear end that's equipped with easy driving 3.31 gears. Holding that killer drivetrain off the ground is a completely restored factory suspension that's been thoroughly sandblasted and layered in a durable coat of epoxy paint. And correct power steering combines with correct, and fully rebuilt, power drum brakes to provide greatly improved turns and modern car stops. At the center of the floors, the big engine's restored manifolds dump spent gases into an aluminized true dual exhaust system that's complete with factory replacement turbo mufflers. At the corners of the floors, rare 14 inch steel wheels spin 7.75-14 BF Goodrich Silvertown redlines around pristine dog dish hubcaps. And naturally the bottom of this first class Chevelle is as pristine as it is spotless, with everything from the car's new stainless fuel tank to its correct spiral shocks completely detailed for both show and go! Pop this Super Sport's sculpted doors open and you'll find a correct GM code 763 black imitation leather interior which is, for the most part, exactly how it rolled out of the factory. The car's correct front bucket and rear bench seats, which were rebuilt with fresh foam, wrapped in new seat covers and bolted to freshly powder coated brackets, show virtually no wear at all. In front of those seats a warp-free dash hangs rebuilt gauges and a correct Delco AM/FM radio above a rebuilt tachometer and a slick pair of NOS kick panels. Below that dash a great looking console frames a chrome floor shifter and a correct clock in pristine stainless trim. And below that console, like-new carpet perfectly complements a complete set of NOS Fisher lap belts. In front of the driver, an original GM steering wheel and an NOS rearview mirror provide an authentic motoring experience. At the sides of the cockpit, fade-free black door panels center pristine stainless trim and new chrome handles around straight and pliable armrests. And behind the passengers, an optional rear speaker tops a fully restored trunk that includes a correct mat, a full-size spare tire and correct decklid decals. Naturally after Jim Germann finished building it, and Wooding's Auto Body finished slicking it up, this pristine Chevrolet muscle car hit the show circuit and scored many national awards. In adding an 1M motor to its sDrive35i Z4, BMW produced the sDrive35is model. The 2014 Z4 edged that little bit closer to the de facto BMW M-car It is also an important car for the market where the Z4 competes against the other high performanacet wo-seater roadsters and coupes that can be purchased for similar money. Make no mistake a Z4 3.0 or 2.8is a quantum leap dowm from the is. The "S" is worth every penny of the $20,000 plus over the lesser models. Its hard to believe, but with 300bhp, the BMW Z4 sDrive35i was beginning to look a little anaemic compared to its rivals. The TT RS from Audi with 335bhp, the 355bhp Mercedes SLK 55 AMG and even Nissan 322bhp 370z were thumbing their noses at BMW and that couldn't be allowed to stand. If pressed, BMW would probably identify the Boxster S as the car its range-topping Z4s needed to beat but the performance arms race had meant that the Porsche was the only equivalent car to retain horsepower parity with the top line Z4s. BMW needed to act and it did with the 350bhp/370lb/feet Torque sDrive35is. The twin-turbo six-cylinder engine that powers the Z4 sDrive35is is a formidable piece of engineering. used widely in the BMW range wherever some serious performance is called for or a particularly weighty vehicle needs a sharp turn of speed without recourse to V8 power. A 340bhp output is 34bhp up on the sDrive35i and a big slug of power for a 1,500kg rear-wheel-drive sportscar. It is achieved with the aid of BMW's High Precision Direct Injection technology which also increases torque from 400Nm to 450Nm and as much as 500Nm when the engine's temporary overboost function is engaged. As standard, the sDrive35is comes with the BMW M DCT Double Clutch Transmission which is marshaled through steering wheel-mounted paddles. It's capable of extremely fast shift response times and has an integrated launch control system that balances power and traction off the line for the perfect getaway. BMW has set out to disprove the school of thought that says folding hard-top roofs are a bad idea in focused sports cars with a light weight electro-hydraulic arrangement that can be raised or lowered in 20 seconds. The need to make space to stow a great slab of ironwork to keep the rain out can deal a fatal blow to the styling of a convertible, particularly a compact two-seater like the Z4 but BMW designers appear to have avoided this. The telltale distended rear end isn't in evidence and roof up or roof down, the Z4 looks taught and well-proportioned. The bulging rear haunches hint at the cars potency while the subtle cutaways down the flanks make it a sleeker proposition than its angular predecessor. The sDrive35is models benefit further from the inclusion of the M Sport body styling package with its more aggressive front bumper and two-part diffuser at the rear. Theres also the M Sport Adaptive suspension system that sits the car 10mm lower than standard. The car is bigger than the model it replaced which helped it manage the inclusion of a folding metal roof so seamlessly. At 4,239mm, the length is up 148mm and the 1,790mm width is a 9mm increase. This has yielded more space inside as well as the extra capacity out back to drop that roof into. Headroom with the canopy raised is 44mm better than in the old Z4, there is 43mm more elbow room and shoulder room is enhanced by 20mm. The boot is a useful 310 litres with the roof up but shrinks to 180 litres when it is folded. This is supplemented by a 15.5-litre interior storage area behind the seats. An optional hatch between the seats will allow longer items to be poked through into the cabin if necessary. When you factor in the DCT gearbox, the M power upgrade and the special sports exhaust system on the sDrive35is, £4,000($9,400 US) premium over the sDrive35i model looks like good business. The pricing of the sDrive35is also puts it in direct competition with the Audi TT RS while significantly undercutting the Mercedes SLK 55 AMG. The less powerful sDrive35i dominates the Porsche Boxster S, ensuring that BMW has all the bases covered with its Z4 range. We're used to being surprised by the economy and emissions figures that BMW manages to extract from even its higher performance models but even by the German marque standards, 31mpg from a 340bhp(350hp under boost) roadster is impressive stuff. A 160bhp Mazda MX-5 only returns 37mpg on the combined cycle. The BMWs overall running costs will be helped further by CO2 emissions of 201g/km which like its economy, is identical to the sDrive35i version. BMW isn't used to its performance models occupying any position other than the top spot on the podium and when a slew of powerful two-seater sportscars emerged onto the market, it was forced to act to keep the Z4 relevant. The resulting sDrive35is version of the marques folding hard-top roadster should be enough to put BMW back in contention at the very top of the £50,000 sportscar segment. The sDrive35is actually looks like very good value. For Â£4,000 or so over the sDrive35i model, Z4 buyers can have the DCT dual clutch gearbox, a special aggressive-sounding exhaust, adaptive suspension, enhanced styling and a host of other extras. This stereo system sounds great, but it looks pretty incredible in the car too. In the hills, both S-classers drive alike — same aloof and steely persona. Not hugely involving. In a straight line, though, they're as different as Warren Harding and Warren Beatty. The S600 blasts to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. Know what that means? To 60 mph, this 2.5-ton Teuton is quicker than: 1. A Porsche 911 Carrera S. 2. A Chevrolet Corvette convertible. 3. A Ferrari 612 Scaglietti F1. The S600 whooshes through the quarter-mile in 12.6 seconds, same as a Lamborghini Murciélago. This big Benz's twin-turbo V-12 manufactures 612 pound-feet of torque as low as 1800 rpm. We once nailed the throttle just as Colwell tried to open the glove box. His arms flailed and thrashed at cabin air, and it wasn't until the Benz had attained another 60 or so digits that he was able to lean far enough forward to effect any dashboard operations. Our shark-gray Merc asked for only 2.7 seconds to transform 50 mph into 70 mph. On two-lane highways, we learned not to floor the throttle until we were in the passing lane. Otherwise, this heavy destroyer was too likely to ram whoever was being overtaken. Here's something else that'll amuse and panic your passengers: Set the Distronic Plus proximity cruise control for 120 mph while following, say, a dawdling Ford F-150, then lift your foot completely off the gas. Later, when you pull out to pass, the S600 will automatically proceed to a buck-twenty entirely on its own, as if possessed by the ghost of René Dreyfus, and no red lights or Klaxons or legal warnings will so much as suggest themselves. All of this is accompanied by neither turbo lag nor vibration nor exhaust roar. At every driver swap, we had to glance at the tach to tell whether the V-12 was even reciprocating. Our "base" S600 was fitted with all the electronics known to German engineers and a few known only to Homeland Security, and the desirable active body control that cost $3900 on the S550 is here standard. Not to mention brake lights that flash furiously during panic stops and a right-rear seat with eight power comfort adjustments, plus a ninth that automatically slides the right-front seat forward to keep it clear of one's costly monkey-paw loafers, and pneumatic bolsters that stiffen during cornering so you don't have to expend any unnecessary energy holding your own torso erect, God forbid. Did we mention that, during a 70-mph panic stop, the S600 requires only 12 more inches of tarmac than a Mazda RX-8? Compared with the Rolls, this Mercedes resembles some sort of J.C. Penney "Discount Daze" bargain. For the price of our Phantom, you could buy an S600, all seven sedans in last month's "Cheap Skates" comparo, and more than 14 months' worth of luxury lodging at the Drake in Chicago. After which, the parking valets will likely give you one of their handmade Russian Army coats, which, we are here to tell you, affect women in a warm and memorable way. Last February, we called the S550 "the best S-class ever," but now the S600 is the best S-class ever. , making it the best S-class ever, causing some of us to ask, "Why?" This car is already all arrogance and attitude, and every vehicle impeding its progress evokes that German descriptor "Backpfeifengesicht," which means "the face that cries out for a fist in it." All rights reserved. ses the driver’s range of visibility to up to 200 metres to reduce his workload when driving at night. This means that the system provides roughly the same range of visibility as high beam headlamps – but without dazzling oncoming traffic. Night view assist, which celebrated its debut in the S-Class in autumn 2005 and is also available for the CL Coupé, features two additional, infrared headlamps. Their light is invisible to the human eye, and therefore does not dazzle oncoming drivers. An infrared-sensitive camera on the inside of the windscreen shows the scene ahead of the vehicle on a display in the instrument cluster of the luxury Coupé, enabling road signs, pedestrians, cyclists, debris or other obstacles in the road to be identified much sooner. When night view assist is active, the infrared headlamps are automatically switched on when a speed of 15 km/h is reached and remain on when braking down to about 10 km/h. As soon as night view assist is activated, the display in the centre of the instrument cluster switches over to show the camera image. The large eight-inch display is directly in the driver’s field of vision, and provides a clear greyscale image of the road ahead. The driver is able to glance down at the infrared image regularly, monitor the situation ahead of the vehicle and adapt his style of driving accordingly. Up to 125 percent increase in safety Mercedes engineers have examined the capabilities of this technology in a series of practical trials. During comparative test drives with low-beam bi-xenon headlamps and the new night view assist system, male and female test drivers recognised obstacles in the road much sooner when assisted by the infrared light system. During tests, drivers were already able to discern test dummies at the roadside dressed in light-coloured clothing at a range of around 210 metres, which is about 41 metres sooner than with low-beam bi-xenon headlamps. The system proves even more effective in the case of pedestrians in dark clothing. In these situations the night view assist system already enabled the drivers to identify the test dummies at a range of around 164 metres, compared with only at about 72 metres when driving with low-beam bi-xenon headlamps alone. This represents a safety improvement of no less than 125 percent. Even when the headlamps of oncoming vehicles dazzle the driver and severely obscure the view, visibility is much better with this assistance system: a test dummy in light-coloured clothing standing at the road edge 50 metres behind an oncoming vehicle was detected from an average distance of 140 metres with the help of night view assist – around 53 metres sooner than with low-beam bi-xenon headlamps. The state-of-the-art CMOS sensor (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) and the infrared camera specially developed for Mercedes-Benz are able to reduce dazzle by electronic means, while enhancing the rest of the image to ensure that even smaller details are easily recognised. Important contribution to safer driving in the dark Night view assist is able to contribute greatly to improved road safety, as accident analyses carried out by Mercedes-Benz have confirmed: on the basis of data obtained from a joint accident research project conducted by German vehicle manufacturers and the federal office for roads and traffic, specialists at Mercedes-Benz analysed accidents occurring during the hours of darkness and found that the night view assist system has a very high safety potential. The risk of serious injury in road traffic is much greater in twilight and in the dark than during daylight hours. Collisions at night are predominantly driver-induced accidents during which drivers lose control of their vehicles – often because they have not recognised the course of the road soon enough in the dark, and failed to adjust their speed. As a result around half of the vehicles in question leave the road, while more than one quarter collides with oncoming traffic. Night view assist can also help to improve the safety of pedestrians. I wondered how a hearing-impaired person would've interpreted my face earlier in the day, when I first experienced the 5097-pound S65 AMG run from 0-60 mph in just a tad over 4 seconds. Or when I compared the S65's $230,265 window sticker to the $178,185 one on its slightly tamer V-12-powered sibling, the S600. Both left me with a facial expression that could be described as dramatic and slightly insane. And those two adjectives pretty much sum up our thoughts on the S65 AMG and S600 following their weeks-long stays at our office. In the past, we sampled the 429-hp twin-turbo V-8 in the volume-leading S550 and the torquey turbodiesel V-6 in the S350 and found both powertrains to be more than adequate. Does the S-Class need a 12-cylinder? Not at all. But after driving these V-12 beasts, it's hard to imagine the S-Class being powered any other way. Performance wise, the cars weren't too far apart in a straight line, despite the S65's power advantage. The S600's 5.5-liter twin-turbo V-12, rated at 510-hp and 612 lb-ft, propelled the 5029-pound sedan from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds, and it completed the quarter mile in 12.8 seconds at 117.9 mph. The S65 AMG and its 6.0-liter, hand-built, twin-turbo V-12, which produces 621 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque, posted a 0-60 mph run of 4.1 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 12.6 seconds at 120.1 mph. Incidentally, the latter figure tied the S63 AMG we tested last summer. Both cars are mated to a five-speed automatic -- the only gearbox Mercedes has that's stout enough to handle all the power -- with the S65's tweaked by AMG to shift a tad faster. Surprisingly, the S600 and S65 AMG were tied on the skidpad (0.87 g) and the figure eight, with both cars posting a time of 26.1 seconds at 0.73 g. The S600 needed just 109 feet when stopping from 60 mph, 2 fewer feet than the S65, which is fitted with brakes that are bigger and perforated. What gives? We point to the tires -- both are sized at 255/35/20 and 275/35/20 (front and rear), but the S600 was fitted with Continental ContiSport Contact 2s, while the S65 AMG had Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GTs. Performance similarities aside, these two S-Classes have very distinct personalities. The S600 is the understated wallflower, with nothing more than a few "V-12" badges on its front fenders and unique exhaust pipes and rims to set it apart from more pedestrian S-Classes. It's extremely quiet, too, whether it's idling or at wide open throttle. At times, I caught myself moving my jaw around to make sure my ears weren't clogged. To make things even fancier, our S600 tester's optional Designo interior package, with its taupe leather, polished burl walnut trim, and chrome accents, appears to have been pulled from an opulent Art Deco mansion in Beverly Hills. The S65 AMG, on the other hand, has the rowdiness you expect for a car from Affalterbach, with its outspoken exhaust note growling either loudly or very loudly. A few staffers argued that the S65 is way too noisy, We also preferred the S65's steering feel over that of the S600, which was slightly overboosted. Out in public, the S65 AMG was an absolute head-turner. In addition to its signature AMG quad exhaust tips, body kit, and five-spoke rims, this S65 was painted with a special shade dubbed Designo Magno Platinum -- aka gunmetal gray metallic -- with a matte finish, a combination that adds $3950 to the sticker price. Even flashier, especially for a S-Class, was the Designo interior, which featured seats and door panels wrapped in gorgeous brown diamond-stitched leather, while everything else from the roofliner to the dashboard was covered in either black leather or Alcantara. As expected, both cars are packed with technology and interior goodies. Passengers are protected by safety features including Active Blind Spot assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Benz's Distronic adaptive cruise control system. Both cars also have a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system, rear DVD entertainment system, and massaging seats for every passenger except the person sitting in the middle back seat. While we usually love all things sporting an AMG badge, it's hard to overlook at what the S600 brings to the table. With a price tag that's at least $50,000 less than the S65, the S600 matches its rowdy AMG's performance, better braking, equipment list, and V-12 exclusivity. Unless you really want to hear that growl or feel the need to flash, it's the 12-pot S-Class to get. The S65 is only moderately faster, but screams mid life crisis with all the go fast looking bolt ons.
