Hi, Up for sale is my 2006 Carrera S. This car you're looking at is a unicorn. You'll be hard pressed to ever find another Atlas Grey 997 with the factory Aero Cupkit option. It took me a long time to find this car and I am putting this car up for sale with intentions of purchasing a GT3/GT3RS. This car is an absolute blast to drive and turns major heads everywhere. You'll be hard pressed to find another 911 Carrera S in this condition. The car has never been tracked either. This car is equipped with very desirable options and modifications. Originally a $100,000+ spec'ed car. There are tens of thousands invested afterwards into this car. As a side note, I've been building show cars for quite some time now and I've sold a few of my prized vehicles. I take great pride in my cars and I never have the intentions of selling them. Whenever I do, the new owners are thrilled with the condition of my cars. Like I said before, this car has not seen any track time/auto-x. No paintwork on any of the metal panels either/no accidents. I have a clean CarFax and AutoCheck report on hand. The car underwent a full PPI inspection ($800.00) at Rusnak Porsche (~2,000) miles ago for certification and passed with zero issues. The serial number stamped on the motor does not fall into the 2005 build known for the IMS issues. This car has always been serviced at Coral Gables Porsche and also Rusnak Porsche in Pasadena. Recently serviced within the last 500 miles and also received a fresh tire balance. This car has never seen rain either. Simply put, this is a no story car. Hi, Up for sale is my 2006 Carrera S. I am putting this car up for sale with intentions of purchasing a GT3/GT3RS. This car is an absolute blast to drive and turns major heads everywhere. You'll be hard pressed to find another 911 Carrera S in this condition. The car has never been tracked either. This car is equipped with very desirable options and modifications. Originally a $100,000+ spec'ed car. There are tens of thousands invested into this car. As a side note, I've been building show cars for quite some time and I've sold a few of my prized vehicles and I take great care of my cars the new owners are more than thrilled with them. Like I said before, this car has not seen any track time/auto-x. No paintwork on any of the metal panels either/no accidents. I have a clean CarFax and AutoCheck report on hand. The car underwent a full PPI inspection ($800.00) at Rusnak Porsche (~2,000) miles ago for certification and passed with zero issues. The serial number stamped on the motor does not fall into the 2005 build known for the IMS issues. This car has always been serviced at Coral Gables Porsche and also Rusnak Porsche in Pasadena. Shinoda attended the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles (before it moved to Pasadena) but was kicked out, and went to work first for Ford Motor Company in 1955, then briefly with Packard , then General Motors in late-1956. Working with GM design chief Bill Mitchell and Corvette chief engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov , he refined work on concept cars that eventually translated into the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray and the 1968 version, patterned after Shinoda's Mako Shark show car. In 1968 Henry Ford II hired former GM executive, Bunkie Knudsen , to be president of Ford. Knudsen recruited Shinoda to come to Ford in hopes of improving the styling and sales of Ford's lineup. This was a one-year only car and the only Fox body based Cobra built. The production run was limited to a mere 4,993 examples. Of those, only 448 were built in this rare color combination. Although emission laws still had a strangle hold on our muscle cars, Ford still managed to coax 235 horsepower and a whopping 280 pound feet of torque from the legendary 5.0L Windsor engine. With zero to 60 times at 5.6 seconds and the deep growl from the large V8 engine, these Cobras were truly intimidating on the street throughout the 90’s. Due to their popularity on the drag strips, very few of these collectible cars survived let alone remained original. The first owner purchased this Cobra from a local Orange County, California Ford dealership. This owner was a mature woman (the proverbial grandma from Pasadena) who primarily used the car to visit her daughter in Arizona. For the next 5-years, she racked up 63,000 miles commuting to Phoenix…all freeway miles. In 1998, she decided she needed something more practical for this 700-mile round trip; so, she traded the car into Villa Ford in Orange, California for a SVT Contour. At the time, the current owner’s uncle worked at this dealership and knew his nephew had been looking for a ’93 Cobra for some time now. So, he made a quick call and the current owner was at the dealership within the hour. He purchased the car in April of 1998 and began an incredibly well-documented 16-year relationship with this Cobra. Every service, repair, and enhancement was documented. The stack of receipts is impressive. The car was never abused. It was initially used as a daily driver and then it became more of a weekend car. It was always garaged, regularly detailed, and obsessively serviced. The engine is bone stock and the valve covers have never been removed. Any upgrade made was tasteful and to improve reliability/performance. All OEM original parts have been preserved and will be included with the car. The approach this owner took with the car was to retain originality while carefully enhancing the one weak link: the suspension. The entire U.S. model year lineup all had the famous mechanical fuel injection and the one-year-only side oil door. It was also the first year displacement bumped to 2.4 liters. As the market continues to grow for “long-hood” 911s, the 1972 model is quickly becoming one of the most desirable. This 911 has a production date of February 1972. It was delivered new from Rusnak Porsche of Pasadena, CA on April 28th, 1972. The first owners were Marion and Charles Weber who lived in Los Angeles area and were the founders of locally famous MG Mitten automotive accessory store. This shop specialized in car covers and was in business from the mid 50’s to the late 80’s. Charles purchased this car for his wife, Marion, who was the face of the company and featured in all their product advertisements. As you can imagine, being in the car care business, they took incredible care of the car. In fact, it is reported that they never washed the car. It was always carefully wiped down with their detailing products. The car was almost always serviced at the local Porsche dealer and we have all the corresponding stamps in the books. In January 1976, the Weber’s sold the car to John and Janet Wells of Glendale, California with around 19,000 miles. John Wells was the founder and owner of the John Wells Golf Shop in the local area. Also, he was related to the Wells family of Wells Fargo. John was an enthusiastic car collector and continued the tradition of excellent care for this 911. It was always garaged with a cover; never driven in the rain; and, never washed with water…just lightly detailed. John kept great records of his service and we have all of his receipts. He primarily used a shop called Tommy’s “Verkstad” in La Crescenta, CA. They were a well-known and very reputable Los Angeles area independent Porsche facility. Some highlights of his services included: Rebuilt transmission, replace clutch/flywheel (34,000 miles) Replace oil return tubes and valve covers (37,000 miles) New master cylinder/rebuild brake calipers (38,000 miles) John Wells sold the car to the current owners in April of 1996 with 38,000 miles. This owner was an employee of his who had worked for him for 36-years. Wells never sold any of his cars but he saw how much his employee liked the car and that her husband was an antique car collector. So, he figured that the car would be in good hands. This couple live locally in Los Angeles County. They have owned the car for just over 18-years. Although they only drove it for another 4,000-miles, they took great care of the car and regularly serviced it themselves. Just before bringing the car to us, they took the car to TLG auto in North Hollywood for a full service and inspection. They spent over $3,000 on the following items: New fuel lines Remove and replace injection bump belt and pump drive seal Remove and replace valve cover gaskets New hood and deck lid shocks New fan belt New spark belts New turn signal switch Compression test: 1) 145 2) 145 3) 145 4) 145 5) 145 6) 150 The condition of the car is excellent. The car was repainted sometime in the early 80’s in its original silver color. The original paint started having the typical discoloration of the clear coat. The doorjambs, hood, trunk, etc. are still wearing the original paint (see pics). The glass is all-original including the windscreen (see pics for factory stampings). The chrome, rubber, deco trim, and rubber seals are all original as well and in excellent condition. There are some minor chips on the front of the car from normal driving (see pics). The Bridgestone tires were replaced about 7,000-miles ago and have plenty of tread left. However, that was in 1983. The condition of the tires is remarkable with no cracks…a testament to the good-life this car has lived. The interior is equally as nice and in very original/unrestored condition. The dash is pristine with no cracks. The door pockets are also in terrific condition. The dealer added the door speakers behind the front pockets. The seats are in original unrestored condition and look fantastic with no rips or tears. The original carpet (including trunk) shows very little signs of wear. The targa top headliner was replaced but the vinyl on the topside is original and the top has never been folded. All the gauges appear to work properly except for the clock. The underside is very dry and original with no signs of rust or repairs. TLG fixed the oil leaks and the engine appears to be dry as well. The engine looks to have never been opened. An early 911 is only original once and they way it drives proves it. It is very tight and responsive. The car shifts easily with no synchro issues. The power is strong and smooth. It is a joy to drive and would be wonderful as a summer touring Porsche. California registration paid through February 2015 This Porsche comes complete with the original tool kit, original spare wheel and tire, original jack, original factory floor mats, original wood trunk board, original books/manuals, original ownership/maintenance record book from Porsche, all records/dealer stamps from new, original valve covers, extra bulb for original Cibie headlights, original Porsche car bra from MG Mitten, and many original keys.
