If you're a hardcore Chrysler collector who's itching for the ultimate investment grade big fin letter car, this all-American cruiser will have you reminiscing about the late 50's and the great Americana that came from that era. Chrysler's research during wartime and their development work on a new engine for the P-47 Thunderbolt led to the now-famous hemispherical combustion chamber design, or as us car guys like to refer to it as the "Hemi". However, the 300C was incredible not only because of its power, but it also was loved by many because of its exceptional handling that resulted from a lowered placement of the heavy engine and careful location of the rear leaf springs. This 300C left the factory originally covered in a coat of Cloud White, however today it sits covered in a fresh coat of Jet Black. The black is accented very nicely by the tan interior and top. The 300C's futuristic design helped mark the debut of jet age Detroit styling trends that would continue for several years. And although Chrysler's aerodynamic ingenuity came in handy at Daytona Beach, where a fire breathing 390 horsepower Hemi propelled the car to 134 MPH, it was the firm's style quotient that quickly sent the market into a frenzy. At the front of this rag-top's sculpted body is a bold, 'yawning' grille that hangs a red, white and blue "300" emblem between chrome trimmed 'increased visibility' headlamps and innovative brake cooling ducts. Below that grille is an original, re-chromed bumper wrapping clear marker light into pristine stainless fender trim; and above that grille, a fresh chrome "CHRYSLER" script combines with a grafted center fin to detail the car's massive hood. At the sides of the car's body, rolled fenders flow into smooth fins behind great looking stainless trim and large red, white and blue "300" emblems. Below that trim, dent-free stainless gravel shields protect the fenders from the car's twist happy tires; and above the trim is stylish chrome mirrors that combine with flush chrome door handles to lend a healthy dose of form and function. At the top of the car, an angled windshield and like-new greenhouse glass ride between a fresh tan top, bright opposing windshield wipers and polished original trim. And at the back of the car, jet-inspired tail lights center a simple chrome tag bracket and an ornate "300" emblem above a second original re-chromed bumper. With this car's 392 cubic inch Firepower V8 Chrysler created a big block legend that's still highly regarded as a revolutionary blend of performance and luxury. Not only does this hot Hemi mill produce 375 horsepower, but it also twists out 9.25 to 1 compression into 420 lb./ft. of torque. Induction is handled by a pair of gold air cleaners that are piped directly into two high performance Carter 4-barrel carburetors. Fire is provided by a high performance points distributor which shoots sparks between a tagged 30 amp generator and fresh black plug wires. Combustion comes courtesy of a high performance camshaft which breathes through a high performance intake and low restriction exhaust manifolds. Aesthetically, the engine's fresh aluminum paint contrasts well against cool gold valve covers and the car's glossy Gauquin Red engine bay. And little details like stainless lines, rebuilt horns, a reproduction Mopar red cap battery, a correct Silentflite fan drive and a cool Jiffy Jet washer bag provide tons of exciting eyeball appeal. Put the 300C on a lift and you'll see that bolted to the massive HEMI is the original pushbutton A488 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic push button transmission that sends power to the 8 rear axle. Also underneath you'll see the torsion bar front suspension bolted to the X-frame chassis and in the rear a leaf spring setup houses the aforementioned rear-axle. Stopping power comes courtesy of a power drum brakes, and in front of those brakes 14" steel rims have been wrapped in BF Goodrich Silvertown Whitewall tires. Hop inside this handsome Chrysler and you'll find a spacious and airy driving environment which has enough room to haul the whole family in comfort and style. Tan leather bench seats harbor correct seat cushions which still feel firm to the touch. Black carpet does an excellent job of highlighting the car's bright stainless accents and correctly cushioned dash. And speaking of the dash, a bright rearview mirror, a red, white and blue "300" emblem, a rare Highway Hi-Fi record player and pushbuttons for the tough Torqueflite transmission frame super cool 'jet age' gauges that are centered on a continuous motion clock. At the sides of the seats, fantastic tri-tone door panels display a prominent 50s design theme between correct power windows and cool "300" branded sill plates. Behind the seats, a new convertible cowl snaps down over a giant, fully restored trunk which props a fifth wire wheel and a full-size spare tire next to an echo-prone level of cargo space. And in front of the driver, a gorgeous wide-diameter steering wheel spins an attractive two-tone rim around a deep-seated "300" center piece and a full chrome horn ring. This '57 300C Convertible represents a huge milestone in the development of Chrysler Corporation as a powerhouse manufacturer. Those are the totals, IN HOURS, that our last three 1967 Chevrolet Corvette pro-touring cars sat on our RK Motors Charlotte showroom floor. And for good reason: they're some of the meanest, most exclusive and most enjoyable muscle cars on the planet! This 1967 pro-touring roadster is a top notch, no compromises C2 that will unquestionably draw a crowd wherever it goes. Despite its exceptionally well done modifications, which include a modern 521 horsepower V8, a strip ready driveline and a massaged fiberglass body, none of the pure, basic goodness of its beloved design has been compromised. And best of all, that fresh technology provides an athleticism and performance envelope that will embarrass pretty much anything on the road. If you're one of those enthusiasts who enjoys being at the pinnacle of style, the top of the leader board and the front of the car show, this world class pro-tourer is the car you've been dreaming of! This slick C2 Sting Ray's body is a never-been-hit '67 and, as you can tell, the very talented craftsmen at Corvette Restorations AZ treated it to a lot of time and some amazing fiberglass work. Even 45 years after it was launched, Larry Shinoda's brilliant design still speaks for itself. And the car's only noteworthy modifications include a couple of bolt-ons that combine both form and function to create a more aggressive front clip, and massaged fenders which perfectly frame its massive wheels and tires. Unlike most concours restored Vettes, this Sting Ray features exceptional fit and finish which, with the car's bright paint, is definitely a design statement. And speaking of bright paint, the car's sinuous form has been bathed in a vivid coat of Enzo Ferrari Yellow urethane that shines just as bright as the day it left the spray booth. It may be true that there's no such thing as a perfect car; but this killer Corvette pro-tourer is about as close as you can get! The cool thing about a pro-touring Corvette is that you're taking an already aggressive design and adding a ton of race-bred technology which elevates the car's personality and performance to a whole new level. It's kind of like rebuilding the Incredible Hulk with components from the Terminator to create one mean, ass kicking machine; and this '67 Sting Ray definitely looks the part! At the front of the car, a body-width stainless grille sits inside of show worthy stainless trim which is bordered by two chrome trimmed parking lights, a razor blade style chrome bumper and a custom molded chin spoiler. Above that grille a 1967-exclusive stinger hood, which has been detailed with a gloss black stripe and fresh chrome trim, rides in front of like-new glass that is cleared by bright stainless wipers, framed by excellent looking stainless trim and capped by a black Al Knoch top. Below that glass flared front fenders hang correct 1967-exclusive heat extractors in front of pristine bowtie mirrors, correct chrome door handles, satin black rocker trim and custom black side pipes that are complete with stainless heat shields. Behind that glass, a full stainless roll bar is centered between super-wide flared rear fenders and a smooth rear decklid that is complete with both a body-matched fuel filler and a pristine "Corvette Sting Ray" emblem. And at the back of the car, two centered reverse lamps combine with four traditional Corvette tail lights to illuminate a chrome trimmed tag bracket and two more pristine, razor blade style bumpers. While the exterior of this awesome yellow roadster provides the kind of radical good looks you might find encased in velvet ropes on the show field, it's what lives underneath the car's functional stinger hood that separates the beauty queens from the road warriors. Professionally built by Arizona Speed and Marine in Phoenix, Arizona, this Sting Ray's 6.0 liter LS2 Generation IV V8 utilizes an aluminum block, a Competition camshaft and high performance heads that are equipped with severe duty push rods and titanium retainers to churn out a super car killing 521 horsepower! At the top of that engine, a custom fabricated cowl induction system funnels wind from a reusable filter element to a traditional LS2 high-flow intake manifold via a custom fabricated chrome air tube. Once that air is present and accounted for, a GM electronic fuel injection system jets dino blood through stainless fuel rails to high pressure fuel injectors, and GM factory coils shoot sparks into high performance MSD plug wires. The resultant high compression combustion is cooled by a Be Cool 700 horsepower Super Street aluminum radiator which sends water past two 11 inch puller fans and a polished overflow tank to fresh hoses and a body-matched water pump. And the subsequent spent gases are evacuated through a pair of custom fabricated long tube headers which flow straight into the car's custom fabricated side pipes. In front of the engine a modern serpentine system, which has been fully outfitted with chrome pulleys and chrome brackets, spins both a chrome alternator and polished AC compressor; and behind the engine, a straight, unaltered firewall hangs a factory wiper motor next to a modern brake booster and master cylinder. The hot small block wears body-matched fuel rail covers and a thick coat of body-matched high temp engine paint which looks much better than the black on silver color combo of factory fresh LS2s. And a full array of details such as polished stainless lines, high quality braided hoses, chrome hood hardware and even a chrome oil cap provide a finished appearance that most modern engines simply can't achieve. Throw this Corvette up on a lift and the first thing you'll notice is four bright yellow brake calipers that squeeze four equally impressive slotted brake rotors. The second thing you'll notice is a bright yellow scatter shield that's bolted to a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission. Those yellow calipers, which are four piston "Corvette" branded C5 units up front and four piston "Delco Moraine" branded C3 units out back, provide excellent stops and modern car cornering thanks to a heavy duty Hydroboost brake system. And that precise transmission sends all the small block's massive power from carbon fiber clutch packs to a new Fast-Corvette differential that's equipped with pebble crushing 3.70 gears. Of course, those brakes couldn't sufficiently corner without the car's modern power rack and pinion steering and fresh Bilstein shocks. And that rear end couldn't sufficiently hook up without the car's Vette Brakes and Products fiberglass transverse rear leaf spring and suspension kit. The car's satin black floor and frame are virtually spotless; and everything from its fresh stainless steel fuel tank to its monoleaf front suspension is fully finished, superbly restored and displays very little use. And all this top notch Corvette hardware rides on a spectacular set of 18 inch Foose Nitrous Thrust wheels which follow 245/40 front Falken Azenis performance radials with 275/35 rear Falken Azenis performance radials. Open this Corvette's lightweight fiberglass doors and you'll find an OEM-quality standard vinyl interior which has been tastefully updated with both stylish trim components and modern technology. At the center of the car firm bucket seats, which were completely rebuilt during the recent restoration, ride between a six-point roll bar that's bolted to the car's frame and like-new black carpet that's sandwiched between color-keyed Sting Ray floor mats and Dynamat Dynaliner sound deadening. In front of those seats stylish aircraft-inspired gauges, which now operate electronically, perfectly complement brushed metal panels on both the car's glove box and center console. At the sides of those seats, great looking stainless trimmed door panels hang chrome handles, chrome window cranks, and chrome lock knobs above perfectly placed plastic armrests. And between those seats, a waterfall dash interface begins at a continuous motion clock and cascades through controls for the car's Vintage Air climate system and MP3 compatible Custom Auto Sound head unit to the base of a fully functional chrome shifter and chrome switches for the car's power windows. In front of the driver, a flat bottom, three-spoke steering wheel spins on top of a polished tilt steering column that's complete with a full set of billet stalks. And behind the driver, a fully carpeted storage compartment displays absolutely no wear and tear at all. A total of 1262 hours went into making this the ultimate B-body to polish off the collection of any Mopar collector. Originally leaving the factory in a PP1 code Ruby paint, today it sits in a vibrant shade of white that is absolutely stunning. Plymouth designers were working directly with the sales team and were being instructed to make the car's look as wide as possible in both the front and rear. The quad lamps that you see set within the body wide front grille were chosen to help achieve that look. Above the quad lamps Plymouth lettering sits just below the hood, while below, a wraparound chrome bumper gives the front end an incredible look. In fact all the aluminum and stainless trim was reconditioned and buffed to perfection. On the hood is a Plymouth hood ornament that frames the numbers 383 and sits at the end of the chrome trim that travels the center of the long hood. Down the sides, more chrome trim splits near the end of the front fender by a red white and blue emblem to form two chrome strips that run to the rear of the car. On the back quarter panel and rear of the trunk you'll find chrome 'Sport Fury' lettering, and another red white and blue Plymouth emblem. More chrome trim encompasses the rear tail lights, and a chrome rear bumper sits above the dual exhausts. Pop the hood and you'll find a potent 383cid V8 that cranks out 320hp. The block, which wears a correct 2468130 casting number, features era correct turquoise paint that contrasts nicely against the white back drop. Under the flat black finish air cleaner, a correct Carter four-barrel carburetor delivers atomized fuel to the intake manifold. From there the fuel mixture travels through the intake, to 516 heads that were built by Precision Machine in Canton, Ohio. The block has a .040 oversized bore and a .010 Crankshaft turndown. Speed pro pistons and re-conditioned rods help achieve combustion. The spark is delivered by a Mopar electronic ignition system that was added for the ease of modern conveniences. The original dual point distributor is included in the sale. After combustion, the spent gases travel out the exhaust manifolds into the 2.5" dual exhausts. Look under the car and you'll find an equally clean undercarriage. The floors are rock solid, painted in black and provide the perfect backdrop for the restored suspension. Behind the motor, a correct A833 4-speed manual transmission takes care of gear selection with the same authority it did in 1964. From there the power travels to the 8 3/4-inch rear end that has been equipped with 3.55 clutch type positraction differential. Up front, you'll find a powder coated K-frame that was completely rebuilt with new upper control arms, bushings and ball joints. New Monroe shocks were used in the front and rear and color coded to match OEM colors. Out back, re-arched leaf springs house the 8 3/4 rear-end, and a brand new gas tank with a 5/16" sending unit was also installed. Stopping power comes courtesy of 4-wheel drum brakes, and in front of those brakes you'll find 14" rims that feature period correct spinner hub caps. Those rims have been wrapped in Michelin X radial tires that feature a thin white line on the sidewall that ties into the body color. As you might have noticed, this car originally left the factory with red interior to match its ruby exterior. However thanks to an extensive amount of work from Legendary Interiors, today the vinyl blue interior accents the white exterior very nicely. Swing open the doors and you'll be greeted by blue vinyl front bucket seats that are separated by a middle console. Below the seats, brand new blue carpet shows no signs of wear, while in the center of the floor a correct Hurst 4-speed allows quick gear changes. That functional body's combination of excellent reflections and Kansas-flat surfaces suggests many labor-intensive hours were spent blanketing every inch of its metal with top-notch finish work. And one close look at our high resolution photos reveals a striped and polished Chevy that's ready to run the street and rule the show! By the early 70s, the Chevelle had become one of America's best-selling cars. And Chevrolet continued to introduce subtle refinements that met increasingly strict crash standards while maintaining the model's handsome and distinct profile. At the front of this sublime drop-top, a monochromatic, "CHEVELLE" branded grille centers a prominent "SS" emblem between two AACA plaques, two Power Beam headlights and a fresh chrome bumper. Above that grille, a functional cowl induction hood anchors rebuilt hide-a-way wipers between new pins, pristine stainless trim and like-new glass that's capped by a fresh black top. At the sides of that hood, bright badging and single-unit marker lamps perfectly complement straight wheel frames, traditional door handles and a subtle sport mirror. And at the back of the car, a second chrome bumper centers a second "SS" emblem between classy tail lights, a pristine "Chevelle by Chevrolet" script and spotless stainless exhaust tips. In 1972, the biggest and baddest motor you could shove between the fenders of a Chevrolet passenger car was the mighty LS5. And this car's original 454, which hangs a familiar 3999289 casting number behind a correct "CRW" suffix stamp and matching partial VIN, twists 270 horsepower into an impressive 390 lb./ft. of torque. At the top of the mighty mill, functional cowl induction funnels wind into an original Quadrajet carburetor that's threaded onto fresh stainless fuel lines. Below that carburetor, a sea of Chevy Orange paint spreads from the engine's original intake and original, cast iron heads all the way to its original starter and original, cast iron exhaust manifolds. At the back of those manifolds, an original points distributor shoots fire through eight Packard TV R Suppression cables. And in front of those cables, a reproduction Delco battery complements an original radiator and correct plastic fan shroud. Aesthetically, this road ready Chevelle's fresh exterior paint transitions nicely into a Satin Black engine bay that features a very high level of detail. New GM hoses, with appropriate tower clamps, snake around clean Harrison air conditioning and a correct Frigidaire compressor. And all the familiar extraneous bits, like the car's original water pump, original alternator housing and factory-correct smog equipment are present, sorted and fully accounted for. The theme of 'road ready' extends under this fully restored Super Sport, where you'll find super clean floors and a rebuilt, factory-accurate chassis. Behind the stout engine, a rugged GM Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed sends power to a 12-bolt, posi-traction rear end that's fitted with correct 3.31 gears. Holding that killer drivetrain off the ground is a correct option F41 double A-arm front and 4-link rear suspension that's equipped with factory power steering, heavy duty sway bars and date-correct shock absorbers. The car's rebuilt power front disc and rear drum brake system is present, accounted for and functions exceptionally well. The aforementioned manifolds dump spent gases into high performance, true-dual pipes that mix baritone turbo mufflers with traditional, rear-mounted resonators. The car's frame, free of any major damage, is painted black to match its solid satin floors. The first things I noticed were the subtle beads on the rear valence that mimic the rocker panel blisters. Then I saw how the rear spoiler had been molded into the fender, and the custom made hood with OEM-looking nostrils. Heck, we have photos of them laying out wooden blocks on the rear deck to create bucks for the spoiler fabrication. Look closer and you'll see flush-mounted glass, shaved door handles and drip rails, and newly fabricated front and rear valence panels. Of course, the basics are 100% 'Cuda, starting with an original car and built from a bare steel shell. The car was stripped bare and every panel that wasn't perfect was removed and replaced with an exact reproduction. New quarters were installed, but they weren't installed stock-the side marker lights were shaved and the upper areas were adjusted to fit the giant tires. Of course, you'd need a stock 'Cuda next to this one to see all the modifications, but the total of the work is a car that keeps everyone guessing and absolutely steals every show it enters. Part of the show-stealing is certainly due to the paint job. Done in PPG Silver Star and Vibrants Purfect Purple with a lot of airbrush work, the car is visually arresting in person. You think you've seen show-quality paint? Guess again. If there's a flaw in this paint job, I can't find it. The finish is the result of hundreds of hours of bodywork, top-quality finishes, and another several hundred hours of wet sanding and buffing every square inch-hell, it even appears that the underside of the hood has been wet sanded and buffed. Then there's the unique strobe stripe, which is paint, not a decal, and is a combination of air brush techniques and pinstriping that gives it an almost three-dimensional look that seems to be vibrating off the metal. Out back, you've undoubtedly noticed the custom-made rear panel that houses custom taillights that look an awful lot like standard 'Cuda items, but are actually hand-made LED lights that give it a modern look at night. Up front, Harley-Davidson twin-bulb modular headlights are brilliant in any sense of the word, and a custom grille insert has been created to mimic the original, but with turn-signal indicators molded into the grille itself. Brake cooling ducts have been integrated into the lower valence, while out back, diffuser ducts evacuate air from under the car and generate downforce at high speeds. Mirrors are from a Chrysler Crossfire, and, well, I'll let you spend some time with the car and discover the rest. There's just so much to see, we can't possibly include it all here. There was never any doubt when this project started that this car would be Hemi-powered. But that's not a 50-year-old chunk of cast iron in the engine bay. No, a car of this caliber needs cutting-edge technology to go with the horsepower, so a modern 6.1-liter Hemi was selected instead. It's an Arrington-built piece that cranks out more than 525 horsepower (that's 100 horsepower more than the legendary 426 Hemis of yore), and does it in a smaller, lighter, and more user-friendly package. Forget tuning carburetors and fouled spark plugs, the only thing this car needs from you is someone to turn the key and press the red START button on the center console. Continuing the strobe stripe theme under the hood, you'll find some custom covers for the radiator and coils that mimic the three-dimensional detailing on the body. The intake has been polished for a little bit of eye candy under the hood, while the wiring and plumbing has been carefully hidden for a super-sanitary look. Power steering and power brakes are definitely part of the equation, as is a high-output alternator to keep the car's electronics happy. Just as a carburetor would be out of place on the engine, a 4-speed just wouldn't do underneath. Instead, there's a Keisler 5-speed with overdrive that makes the most of the engine's prodigious horsepower. Out back, a Chrysler 8.75-inch rear holds 3.91 gears on a limited slip. This will accelerate hard enough to break fingers, and can still climb to speeds once reserved for aircraft on the big end. The suspension features massive sway bars and cockpit-adjustable air shocks from Air Ride for a 21st century ride inside that vintage 1970 shape. Brakes are from Baer, and feature massive vented and cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. Those openings in the front fascia aren't just for show, either-they actually feed the front brakes a steady supply of cool air. Long tube headers dump into a stainless steel X-pipe and Flowmaster mufflers before terminating in custom tips molded into the rear valence. The floors are undercoated because the original intent was to build a car to drive before things got, well, a little out-of-hand. The perfect hot-rod profile and stance is achieved by a set of polished 18- and 20-inch Bonspeed Quasar wheels on 245/40/18 front and 295/35/20 rear Nitto Invo tires.Open the door and the first thing you'll notice is that the graphics from the exterior continue into the doorjambs-always the sign of first-rate paint work. Then you'll notice the Corvette bucket seats that have been custom upholstered with a mesh insert to really hold you in place. Door panels were specially fabricated for this car, and hold matching mesh inserts to really tie the whole interior together. A custom console was fabricated to resemble the original 'Cuda piece, but it now features a carbon-fiber insert, controls for the Air Ride suspension, and a big, red START ENGINE button that brings the monster to life. A billet pistol grip shifter controls the 5-speed, a cool update on the original that looks exactly right in this 21st century interpretation of the Hemi 'Cuda. The original dashboard has been reshaped and molded to hold a set of new Mopar Performance analog gauges. A leather-wrapped steering wheel with carbon-fiber accents sits atop a Flaming River column, and delivers razor-sharp feedback. In back, the rear bench has been reshaped to resemble the front buckets, and cool speed blisters with built-in speaker pods have been molded into the package shelf behind the headrests. An Alpine head unit is nestled up front, while massive Kicker speakers in their own custom enclosures in the trunk provide the support. Liberal use of Dynamat throughout the interior ensures that you'll stay cool and comfortable behind the wheel of this amazing car. On a build of this magnitude, you know there's a ton of documentation. We have extensive build photos, drawings, sketches, and other development details that are seldom seen in the finished product-concept cars often go directly from the designer's imagination to the show floor. You can see how this car evolved and the designer's intent throughout the process, and it's fascinating to compare it to the finished product.
