All appears to be original. Starts right up, runs strong, simply all there. Looking for a good home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Passed safety and emission in NH just couple days ago, ready to roll. European VIN Number so Ebay dont recognize. IT IS 1986 NOT 1980! I will start this description with I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS VAN. Im about 3200 miles away from this van and I have never seen it in person in my life. All I have to go by is pictures. What you see is what I see, no more, no less. Anyway, I have purchased this van with intention of bringing it to NH and making cool shop vehicle, good advertizing piece maybe, as we deal in classic and older mostly European cars. However some things have changed and we ended up with nice Sprinter vanLong story short, this van is for sale. It is Located in Portland Oregon, at Copart auction yard, and it is not available for inspection. You are buying what you see in the pictures!!! It will come with your choice of Oregon Salvage Certificate OR Clean and clear NH registration that will transfer in clear title else ware. Picture shows damage in the right front. Description didnt specify exactly the extent of damage, but it doesnt look too bad from the pictures. I assume, and per description, engine is or should be OM617 5 Cylinder diesel, transmission as I can see in the pictures appears to be automatic. I have no idea of running condition but my guess is, it had to be driving in order to hit something???? Anyway, your guess is as good as mine. Picture quality is not the greatest but thats all I have, and I dont plan on going to Oregon any time soon. It was damaged on the driver side, all the damage was superficial. I have head same car, 2.0l in same reflex silver, and it was all transferred to this TDI. Only part that was painted on the car was left quarter panel. There was no mechanical damage whatsoever. Car was put together right as it was destined to be mine. It has brand new brakes around both rotors and pads, also both new cv axles. Runs and drive perfect and will make great car to someone.Depending on the state this may or may not need inspected, check your local regulations.Massachusetts for example, needs no inspection, on any insurance cars over 10 years old, 2004 and older.Timing belt is in decent shape, however, I have no records on it. Jetta has good power and no issues whatsoever. Airbag, ABS and check engine is all good. We do have pictures of the car with damage if needed. As I said all mechanical and safety was just gone trough by NH inspection station. !!!!!!!!!!!!! If needed we can help with shipping to any point on the planet at buyer expense !!!!!!!!!!! There was about 3000 Phaeton's ever imported/sold in US. I had owned one for over a year and it is just awesome vehicle. 4.2L V8, 335hp, 6 speed auto. Most everything on this car is adjustable in some way. Good ride, quick and firm, yet comfortable. Adjustable suspension firmness, ride height, and pretty much everything else. Seats are adjustable any possible way, heated, vented and with massage all around. Other than few minor nicks, GREAT shape. Rear passenger glass has a crack and to replace is about $200-$300 Passed safety and emission in NH just couple days ago, ready to roll. It will come with 20 day temporary tag, unless you are Massachusetts resident ( sorry Massachusetts doesnt allow ) any other state is fine. Please look at the pictures carefully!
