Absolutely Great Look! 1960 Austin Healey Sprite 1960 Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite Mark I "Nut and Bolt" Rotisserie Restoration of a California Car Fitted with Factory Correct Hardtop and Completed in Racing Motif _________________________________________ NOTE: Our listings are rather lengthy. They not only describe this particular car but also some history of the make/model, considerations in buying a classic car and facts about our firm. However, we continually hear from out of state / out of country buyers (many of our clients) that they prefer the level of detail that we provide. However, if you are not prepared to read the full listing, please read the OVERVIEW below along with the PHOTOGRAPHS at the bottom. If you'd prefer, please call us at 925-846-1451 and we'll gladly discuss the Sprite and answer any questions over the telephone, including our "Buy it Now" policy. Yes, the Sprite can be purchased prior to the end of the eBay auction. PHOTOGRAPHS PLEASE NOTE: EACH TIME WE LIST A VEHICLE ON eBbay WE RECEIVE COMMENTS THAT THERE ARE NO PHOTOS OF THE INTERIOR, ENGINE, UNDERCARRIAGE, ETC. OF THE CAR. THERE ARE CLOSE TO 100 PHOTOS OF ALL AREAS OF THIS SPRITE, BUT WHEN YOU REACH WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE LAST PHOTO, YOU WILL NEED TO SCROLL DOWN ON eBay TO VIEW THE REMAINING PHOTOS. IF YOU ARE STILL UNABLE TO SEE THEM, PLEASE CALL US AT 925-846-1451 AND WE WILL PROVIDE A DIRECT LINK. NOTE: IT IS A VIOLATION OF eBbay POLICY FOR US TO LIST THE URL ON THE eBay LISTING. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE ADDITIONAL PHOTOS OF ANY PART OF THE SPRITE. INTRODUCTION This car is offered at a realistic price and, unlike bidding on cars in an auction environment, you will have the benefit of extensive information and history on the car prior to making a buying decision. Equally as important is the fact that Classic Cars Ltd. has been in business for 20+ years and enjoys an excellent national / international relationship with nearly 800 positive eBay feedback responses. Please keep in mind that we will gladly... 1. Answer any questions over the telephone and take the time to guide prospective customers through the buying process (925-846-1451). 2. Assist with locating a quality, suitable transporter at very competitive prices. 3. Provide proof that we are licensed, bonded (for the financial transaction), fully insured, and operate from an established showroom environment. 4. Provide feedback from previous buyers, and specific references for vehicle purchases in your area (we also ask that you view our detailed eBay feedback by clicking on the number to the right of the eBay user name) 5. Offer additional information including specific photographs or clarification of any part of our description of the vehicle Thank you again, please let me know if I can be of assistance. Happy "eBaying"! Paul R. Wankle, Pres. Classic Cars Ltd. Pleasanton, CA 925-846-1451 OVERVIEW-THIS PARTICULAR 1960 AUSTIN-HEALEY BUGEYE SPRITE This smart looking 1960 Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite was the subject of a "nut and bolt" rotisserie restored and has been recently freshened / updated for its new owner to fully enjoy. It has been done in a period-correct racing motif (easily converted to a street appearance by the removal of magnetic numbers on the doors, hood and trunk area). Anywhere it goes; it will bring out smiles, particularly to the driver. Major features include: - Stock 948 cc engine; dual SU carburetors - Stock 4 speed transmission; synchromesh gears 2-4 - Factory correct green engine and transmission paint - New wiring harness - Sharp yellow paint scheme with wide white racing stripe - Factory correct, fully restored white hardtop - Black interior with white seat piping - New brake system - Slotted aluminum wheels with new tires NOTE: We will offer the factory hardtop to the buyer of the car but will consider adjusting the price should the buyer have an interest in the Bugeye without the hardtop. DETAILS-THIS PARTICULAR 1960 AUSTIN-HEALEY BUGEYE SPRITE MARK I HISTORY OF THIS 1960 BUGEYE SPRITE This particular Bugeye, affectionately named "'Ol Yeller" by its California owner, was used as a daily driver and also entered in occasional local auto-cross or gymkhana events "in the day." As was common during this era, the car was only fitted with lap belts and never received a roll bar or other modifications. In the 1960's the philosophy was "Run what you brung" (a philosophy of actually driving the car you raced on track or in a parking lot to the event) and "Ol Yeller" was right at home with the other "new" (at the time) Healey's, Triumph's, MG's, Porsche's and other sports cars. "Ol Yeller" is a beautiful example of an Austin-Healey Sprite that underwent a comprehensive "Rotisserie" restoration several years ago. Since that time, the car has been used sparingly, never in the elements and has developed a lovely patina. Overall, it shows quite well although a close critical inspection reveals cosmetic imperfections including minor chips, paint flaws and other cosmetic flaws. However, perhaps most important is the car remains very solid with good door and hood fitment and very high gloss paint, polished cockpit trim and other upgrades (more on that later). Reportedly an original California car, the car was owned by one owner for over 30 years. When it was sold to the most recent owner, he invested a considerable sum to have the Bugeye completely restored from top to bottom; often referred to as a "Nut & Bolt" restoration. The photographs show the car being prepared for paint, on the rotisserie, engine out, interior out and suspension and other components removed from the car. While the Bugeye remains in virtually stock mechanical configuration, it has received some wonderful cosmetic touches that give the car a "period" sports / racing appearance. Specifically, the bright yellow paint-work is accented by a wide racing stripe that covers the grille, top of the bonnet and the rear portions of the car. "60" numbers (often referred to as "meatballs") have been added to the doors, hood and trunk (magnetic and removable). Classic, period aluminum slotted wheels adorn the car and are wrapped with brand new tires with fewer than 100 miles. Perhaps most important, the car is fitted with a proper factory (our "experts" tell us) hardtop that has just been totally restored and painted to match the white trim on the Bugeye. It gives the car an absolutely striking appearance and is a very sought after addition owners of Bugeye's. Anyone who has done a restoration knows it is expensive! The above description does not include all of the many details involved. The reserve price is well below what it would cost to achieve this level of restoration on your own. "THE NUMBERS" VIN # AN5AL40869 Appears to be the proper sequence VIN# for year 1960 ENGINE NUMBER 9CUH32820 9C = 948cc engine U = Center change gearbox H = High compression MECHANICAL - Stock 948 cc engine w/ dual SU carburetors; Austin-Healey green - Stock 4-speed smooth case transmission; synchromesh gears 2-4; Austin-Healey green - Very nice drivability - Rear wheel drive - Ansen style slotted aluminum wheels - Four new Achilles Platinum 165/65R13 tires - Jack in rear compartment (non stock) - Renewed drum braking system - New rear axle seals - Good "synchros" (2nd-4th) & clutch - New wiring harness (not cloth type) - New stainless steel gas tank - New brake wheel cylinders and needed braking components - Functional emergency brake EXTERIOR - Clean straight body - Beautiful restored factory hardtop in fresh white paint - Excellent bonnet with good gaps - Body is free from damage - Yellow paint with period style wide white "racing stripe" - "Meatball" period racing numbers "60" (1960 Bugeye) - Stock rear bumperettes painted yellow to match car - Front bumper removed in keeping with the more aggressive appearance of the Bugeye (and lighter weight) INTERIOR - Lovely Black seats / white piping in - Excellent black carpet that extends fully to the rear - 3-spoke 13" custom American Racing steering wheel with functional horn - Analog gauges; all function with readings well within acceptable range - Functional windshield wipers - Operational turn signals, lights and other electrical systems - Recently updated chrome latch seat belts (passenger & driver) - Non-operational heater/defroster (blower removed and not included but can be located from aftermarket sources) - Original body numbers remain in place on the door jambs COSMETIC CONDITION As a result of the restoration, the Sprite is in nice cosmetic condition both inside and out. The extensive photographs reflect the car's condition including the body, paint, engine compartment, interior, rear compartment and underside. The exterior paint shows nice with very high gloss two stage paint and good panel fit. The front bonnet closes and is secured by a turn of a homemade handle replacing the original chrome unit. The engine compartment is clean and free from excessive oil, grease and overspray. The entire engine bay received the benefit of an "engine out", suspension removed re-spray at the time of the restoration. While the body of the Sprite suggests evidence of professional rust repair during the restoration, the work was very well done. Undercoating was not applied in an attempt to hide anything so the body color appears on the inner fender wells, door jambs, under hood and even the front suspension components (refer to photos). The floor panels and other areas are extremely clean. While the windshield itself is good, the windshield rubber is quite dry, and "checked." MECHANICAL CONDITION - RUNNING / DRIVING The Sprite starts immediately with the use of the functional choke and warms up quickly. It idles smoothly and does not overheat. The engine is strong and the Bugeye runs and drives very well. There is no smoke, leaking (outside of the characteristic British car "seepage" or, as the British refer to it; English rust proofing!), or unusual noise and this is also true of the transmission and drive-line components. The Sprite has good power through all of the gears and does not hesitate or exhibit drivability problems The transmission shifts smoothly and the clutch engages and does not chatter or make noise. The car does not pop out of gear and shifts are short and precise. The recently replaced brakes stop the car straight and sure. The emergency brake is fully functional and holds the car on a relatively steep incline. The steering is tight and precise and the car offers handling that will leave the driver with a smile for miles to come. The current odometer reading is 33,251 miles and is working. We are listing the mileage as "TMU" (Total Miles Unknown) as a result of the age of the vehicle and the fact that it is mileage exempt in virtually every state / country. The Bugeye will be sold as photographed / shown unless the buyer is not interested in the factory hardtop in which case we ask that a price for the car be negotiated BEFORE the end of the auction. Below are a few additional facts pertaining to this Bugeye: - The car does not include side windows or a convertible top (both are available used and/or through aftermarket sources. - The hardtop is painted white underneath but is unfinished (no headliner). - A mounted spare wheel tire (not from a Bugeye but with same bolt pattern and functional as a spare), non original jack & handle. The car was designed by the Healey Motor Company, more specifically Donald Healey, and produced in partnership with the British Motor Corporation (BMC). There were three series of the Sprite. The first series (Mark 1) was produced from 1958 through 1961, with approximately 49,000 examples being sent to the USA. In the United States, the cars were called "Bugeye's", while in the UK they were commonly known as "Frogeye's". Each of the names evolved from the headlights mounted on the top of hood that resemble a frog and/or bug. The body was very smooth and flowing. There were no door handles; to open the door, the inside handle would need to be operated. The trunk did not open but was accessed through an opening behind the seats. Up front, the entire front hood hinged upwards, allowing easy and convenient access to the engine. The mechanical components were borrowed, in an effort to reduce the cost of production, from a number of vehicles that were already available in the marketplace. The suspension was from the Austin A-35 while the basic engine was courtesy of the Morris Minor. The 948 cc engine was based on the Morris Motor Company A-series but fitted with dual SU carburetors increasing the horsepower from 37 to 43. Coil springs and wishbones were in the front while the rear was a semi-elliptical leaf spring configuration. A rack-and-pinion steering unit controlled the car, drum brakes provided the stopping power, and a four-speed manual gearbox sent power to the rear wheels. Bugeye's had a plethora of new technology for the era, mainly found in their innovative D-Type Jaguar inspired chassis. As the Bugeye Sprites took to the streets, the race track also became a familiar home. A Sprite won their class in the 1958 Alpine Rally among other significant events, often against larger more powerful race cars. The original Sprite was a popular vehicle for many reasons, including its small size, sporty nature, and overall low cost of operation. The original versions cost approximately $2000. The cars were easy to maintain, offered great handling and epitomized the British Sports car experience of the 1950's / 1960's. While the cars were certainly not considered high performance, they were geared to have "zippy" performance in the lower ranges. Today, Bugeye / Frogeyes have become increasingly difficult to locate for a variety of reasons. While large numbers of cars were produced, the cars were prone to significant rust (especially in "rust zones" in the USA), and many cars didn't survive past the 1970's. Also, a large number of cars were entered in a variety of Motorsports events including road racing, auto crossing and other events where the cars did extremely well and established a number of records. PURCHASING A COLLECTOR VEHICLE - THINGS TO CONSIDER As always, we recommend that you carefully review the seller's background for any collector car being sold over the Internet. It is important to ask yourself a number of questions including, but not limited to: - How long have they been in business? - How much experience do they have with collector cars? - How many positive collector car vehicle sales have they completed (positive eBay feedback)? - How detailed/complete is the description of the vehicle? - Do the photos show details of the interior, exterior, top, chrome, etc. or are they simply "glamour shots" taken from a distance? - Does the seller have a Surety Bond to protect the financial transaction? - What about insurance, licensing by the state, and a local business license? - Does the seller (if a business) have any DMV (Motor Vehicle) complaints and/or other history of legal action, grievances? - Does the seller enjoy a favorable local and national/international reputation? - Can the seller assist with funding sources, transport and out of state/country sales? ABOUT CLASSIC CARS LTD. - Classic Cars Ltd. has been in the same, small, California town for over 20 years. We operate a small "brick & mortar", indoor showroom, and specialize in the sale, consignment, and purchase of sports, high performance and specialty vehicles of all types. We have a particular interest in sports cars and unique vehicles. - The majority of our vehicles come from local, private owners and collectors, and many were sold new in California. We appreciate that rust free cars, with excellent documentation and history are especially attractive to our buyers both locally, and around the country. As a result, we do not purchase our collectible cars from "distressed" sales, such as wholesale auctions, salvage sales, or lien sales. We do not sell vehicles with salvage titles, or those that have a history of significant accident damage or repair. We have sold hundreds of unique, classic and collectible vehicles and regularly deal with buyers that have not had the experience of purchasing a large (both physically and monetarily) item on eBay, or through an Internet source. Our eBay feedback is 100% positive on all vehicle sales from customers around the globe and is a reflection of our commitment to accurate, complete, and thorough vehicle descriptions. - We have been shipping vehicles for years and have established excellent contacts that are not only high quality but very price competitive. We do not use brokers, terminal shipping or other discount methods. Call us or email for a quote directly to your home or office. We are often able to obtain quality enclosed transportation (the kind of travel this car deserves) for the cost of open shipping. - Please review our feedback on eBay (user name Never22Many) representing over 780 positive transactions to buyers all over the United States / World. - We are fully insured, bonded, and licensed for collector car sales all over the United States/World. - Classic Cars Ltd. carries a $50,000 Surety bond to cover financial transactions - We frequently sell vehicles to out of State / out of country buyers, and will be glad to provide references for buyers in your area. MISCELLANEOUS GENERAL INFORMATION - As with virtually all collector/specialty vehicles, we find that parts and resources are readily available for this (and most every vehicle), thanks in large part to the Internet. - In addition to the purchase price of the vehicle, California buyers will be subject to sales tax, a documentation fee, DMV transfer fees and license/registration. Out-of-state buyers will be responsible for the purchase price of the vehicle and any local taxes/fees will be the purchaser's responsibility to pay in their respective state. IMPORTANT NOTE: If the vehicle is delivered or driven in California and driven on California roads, sales-tax, license/registration and transfer fees will be assessed per California law. - We encourage telephone calls to discuss this vehicle in greater detail. Also, if you would prefer that we call you to answer any questions about the vehicle; shipping alternatives, etc. please e-mail us with your telephone number and will gladly get back in touch with you. - We encourage inspections of this Sprite by serious, qualified individuals or professional inspectors prior to the end of the auction. Please call at 925-846-1451 to arrange a convenient time. - As with any collectible vehicle of this vintage we are unable to provide a warranty or guarantee of condition. However, we make every effort to accurately represent our vehicles, and highlight both positive items as well as areas that require attention. We ask that prospective buyers consider our eBay history/feedback, standing in the community, length of time in business, and other factors when purchasing a collectible vehicle from Classic Cars Ltd. - Minor cosmetic issues/flaws are present on every vehicle (regardless of cost) including small chips, nicks, scratches, etc. that can be seen on even the best restoration, or even a relatively new, used "pre-owned" vehicle. Also, ownership of a collectible / specialty vehicle is more enjoyable if the owner is familiar with the "realities" of these unique cars. Unlike more modern day vehicles, these cars require regular, ongoing care/maintenance and some mechanical knowledge, patience, and understanding can make the experience considerably more pleasant. That said, collector / "specialty" car owners will tell you (emphatically) that they love their cars and wouldn't trade them for anything!! - The information contained in this description is believed to be accurate but, in some instances, has been provided by the car's owner / owners or outside sources. As a result, we are unable to guarantee the accuracy of the information. We encourage verification of "numbers" and significant data prior to the purchase of any collector vehicle that you are considering. We reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. We will be glad to discuss details of a "pre-auction" purchase (925) 846 1451. Inspections of vehicles are encouraged but (by appointment only) must be completed within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Out of state buyers are responsible for the high bid and any shipping costs. California buyers are subject to the appropriate sales tax, DMV transfer, and fees associated with the purchase of any used vehicle sale in the state of California. To avoid shipping the title with the car to our out of state buyers, we mail the title via Priority Mail. While shipping and transportation costs (if appropriate) are the responsibility of the winning bidder, we can assist with locating a suitable transporter. We regularly ship cars all over the USA/World, and can often times locate very competitive rates for transporting vehicles door to door, to a local terminal, enclosed, open, etc. Please call us for specific information/rates to your location. We meet some great people and fellow enthusiasts, and only rarely do we have problems with non-paying bidders. Please be certain that you are prepared to buy the car if you bid, or call us at 925-846-1451 before the end of the auction if we can answer any questions. If you have a "sunglass" rating or fewer than 10 feedback ratings on eBay, please call us before you bid so that we can discuss the bidding process, etc. If we do not hear from you, we reserve the right to delete your bid. Happy "eBaying"! Paul R. Wankle, Pres. Classic Cars Ltd. Pleasanton, CA 925-846-1451 OVERVIEW-THIS PARTICULAR BMW 320i (E21) We have had a soft spot in our hearts for BMW's for many years. In fact, our owner purchased a new 1979 BMW 320i "In the day." The car was driven from Illinois to California when he relocated and, as they say, "The rest is history." In 1983, the 1979 BMW "3-Series" was traded in on a newer model, this one a 1983 "S" 320i including factory Recaro style seats and BBS wheels. We thoroughly enjoyed that car and think of it often as one of our favorite sporting sedans. Since then, we have had too many BMW's to count including M5's, M3's, and a host of others. When we drove this particular car we couldn't help but be impressed with how much it reminded us of the cars that we had in the 1980's. The car remains exceptionally solid, exhibits the handling and braking that BMW's are known for coupled with a comfortable interior. In the early 1980's the BMW 320i (body designation E21) was the "must have" car of young, upwardly-mobile professionals--or "Yuppies," as they came to be known. This particular car is a true unmolested "Survivor" of this class with only 81K miles while owned by the original buyer for 32 years, mostly in California (originally delivered in Texas). The car has been carefully maintained as evidenced by included documentation. BMW 320i's in totally original, unmodified condition are becoming, as the old saying goes "As rare as Hen's teeth." This example retains a lovely patina and the label of "Survivor" is certainly appropriate. Cosmetically, it presents very well and it has been extremely well maintained as is supported by a large volume of repair / maintenance history. Notable features of the car include: - 1.8 L 4 cylinder engine w/ fuel injection - 5-speed manual overdrive transmission - 4 wheel independent suspension - Power assisted front disc/rear drum brakes - Rack and pinion steering - Halogen high beam lights - AM/FM BMW cassette stereo - New radial tires on period correct aftermarket mag wheels - New battery - Air conditioning elements all present but not functional at this time - Complete safety/performance inspection by a local BMW specialist in July 2013 including $1000.00+ of maintenance/repairs - February 2014 new windshield/rubber seal - May 2014 speedometer cleaning and calibration - Recent new radiator - Transmission rebuild reported by previous owner - All factory manuals plus purchase documents and sales brochures - Haynes repair manual - Original Safari Beige paint in good condition - Original "Mocha" cloth interior in very good condition (with carpet fading that is characteristic in this vintage BMW) - Optional manual sunroof - Clean CARFAX (no accidents or negative activity) - Reflects chronological mileage progression DETAILS-THIS PARTICULAR BMW 320i (E21) This car is a well maintained, unmolested "survivor" still bearing the majority of its original paint and interior. Although not restored, it is very presentable and drives extremely well. The car was owned by the original buyer for 32 years, mostly in California. The VIN is WBAAG3308B8005882 and the car has current California plates. The current odometer reading is 81,208 miles, and, judging by the maintenance records, is felt to be entirely accurate. The car comes with virtually all of the original documentation including all factory manuals and the original window sticker including: - BMW Folder for Materials - BMW Owner's Manual - BMW Service Manual (Stamped with Dealer Servicing through 60,000 Miles!) - BMW Radio Manual - BMW Service Location Manual - BMW Window Sticker - BMW Standard Equipment & Fuel Economy Rating Sticker - Original BMW Options List (Something we have never seen) - BMW Color & Upholstery Selections - Complete Dealer 320i Brochure - "The Ultimate Driving Machine" - BMW Brochure - Mailing to Original Owner for BMW Optional Equipment / "Extras" - BMW Original Odometer Mileage Statement (Showing original delivery miles of 20 miles) - BMW Original Vehicle Service Contract - Original Car & Driver Road Test Article 1980 HISTORY OF THIS PARTICULAR BMW 320i This car was sold to the original owner by BMW Auto Center in Houston, Texas on April 2, 1981 for $15,862. That original owner and two college buddies all purchased 320i's at that time. He subsequently moved to Denver for about 6 years, eventually moving to the Pleasanton, CA area. This original owner was very meticulous as evidenced by the maintenance records. He finally sold the car after 32 years of ownership in 2013 to the second and current owner, also a Pleasanton area resident. The current owner has continued the meticulous care as evidenced by further maintenance records. He has driven the car only a few hundred miles and kept it garaged. MAINTENANCE The car was faithfully maintained by the original owner with many service stamps in the original BMW service book up through the 60,000 mile stamp. He had additional work performed in the last 5,000 miles of his ownership as listed below (no receipts available): - Transmission rebuild-shifts beautifully, all synchros smooth - New radiator-does not heat above mid-point even on 100 degree day The second and current owner has continued this maintenance beginning with a comprehensive safety and performance inspection and repairs ($1,034) at Performance Technic, Inc., a local BMW specialist. They stated it is one of the nicest E21's they have seen with the lowest miles they can recall. "It is in fine operating condition." Maintenance by the current owner includes the following: - Complete tune up - Oil and filter change - New fuel pump - Brake lines flushed-brakes excellent - New fan belt - New tires - New battery (dated 5/2013) - Speedometer overhaul (as a result of erratic speedometer needle), replace all dash bulbs $303, May 2014 - New windshield (due to pitting) w/ new rubber seal $448, February 2014 ENGINEERING FEATURES - 1.8 L OHC four cylinder engine - Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection - Transistorized, breakerless ignition - 5 speed overdrive manual transmission, fully synchromesh - Four wheel independent suspension - Front torsion bar stabilizer - Power assisted brakes-front discs, rear drums - Rack and pinion steering - Electronic tachometer - Warning lights for low fuel, handbrake and braking system, brake pad wear, alternator, oil pressure - Halogen high beam lights - New Aspen Touring 195/60R14 radial tires, 10/32" tread - WEDS black spoked wheels, a period specific OEM after market replacement COMFORT/SAFETY FEATURES - Electric rear window defroster - Tinted glass all around - LED digital quartz clock - Tool kit (under trunk lid) - Electric outside rear view mirror - Fully reclining front seats - 3-speed intermittent windshield wipers - Flow-thru ventilation system - 3-point seat belts front and rear - Integrated center roll bar - Hydraulic safety bumpers FACTORY OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT - Luxus touring group (air conditioning, AM/FM cassette stereo, fog lights) - Manual sunroof - BMW logo rear mud flaps EXTERIOR The exterior still bears the original Safari Beige #147 paint with dealer-applied pin striping tape (as was so common "in the day.") The paint is high gloss and not thin, but does show some defects, particularly on the trunk lid plus a small "hot spot" at the bottom front of both doors. There is also some slight surface rust on the valence panel under the nose and a small dent on the right side of the hood. Both front and rear bumpers are in good condition. All trim is good with one small door ding size dent below the passenger side window. The body shows no evidence of accident damage plus the CARFAX (available upon request) does not indicate any signs of accidents. The hood, trunk lid and both doors close smartly and all body panel gaps are good as expected for German engineering. The rubber seals remain pliable and in excellent condition overall condition. There is a small, tight crack in the left side backup light lens. All window glass is tinted and excellent and the windshield and its rubber seal are brand new. The car has the optional manual sun roof and BMW logo rear mud flaps. The underside of the car is original, not detailed, but free from other than the usual patina and light surface rust on exposed components. However, there is no rust through and the floors, rocker panels, and other major surfaces are very solid and damage free. The car retains its original dealer installed "mid-line" multi-color pinstripe that was so fashionable in the late 1970's / early 1980's. While it shows some signs of separation, it is in overall good condition and could certainly be replaced with a different pin-stripe should the new owner choose. INTERIOR The interior is still the original Beige #0077 cloth, which is rare and hard to find in today's survivors. The seats show virtually no signs of wear and the door panels are excellent. The black dash pad is free of cracks and the black steering wheel is excellent. The car has 4 color coordinated floor mats. Both side windows roll smoothly and the rear windows fold out at the rear as designed. All weather stripping, though original, is still pliant and functional. The original BMW AM/FM cassette stereo is still working in the dash with two rear package shelf speakers. The air conditioning is not functional, but all factory components remain in the car. The pulley and belt (provided) would need to be re-installed and the system converted to R134a refrigerant to be functional. The engine compartment is as original and not detailed. The power brake vacuum unit shows surface rust and the top-side aluminum engine components are quite dull. The trunk compartment is very solid, showing no signs of damage and retaining high gloss paint. A factory spare tire / wheel is provided along with the OEM jack. The original factory tool kit is housed under the trunk lid. DRIVEABLILITY The car starts easily, idles well, shifts smoothly rides comfortably and cruises nicely. There are no unusual noises. Everything is in working order except for the air conditioner. The car does not overheat, even on extremely hot days. There are no significant leaks/drips. This series was the immediate successor to the aging BMW 2002 and was superseded by the BMW E30. In July 1975, BMW's Board of Management first presented this new model series in the Munich Olympic Stadium for public appraisal. The frontal view of the new car was dominated by the BMW trademark kidney grille standing out clearly from the radiator cover. The wedge shape of the two-door model was distinctive, extending all the way to the unusually high rear end. In response to criticism of the tail design, a black plastic trim panel between the tail lights was added. The car's styling was otherwise well received. The suspension incorporated rack and pinion steering and MacPherson strut suspension at the front, and semi-trailing arm type independent suspension at the rear. The power assisted brakes were discs on the front wheels, while the rear wheels had drum brakes. Five-speed overdrive Getrag gearboxes were fitted as standard in 1980. The cockpit design of the E21 marked the introduction of a new design concept, with the center console and central dashboard area angled towards the driver. As a sign of passive safety, all edges and control elements within the interior were rounded off and padded. European buyers had a choice of 1.6-, 1.8- and 2.0-liter power, but America got only one engine at a time. In 1981 the US 320i utilized the 1.8 liter BMW M10 four-cylinder engine fitted with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. - Can the seller assist with funding sources, transport and out of state/country sales? >center>ABOUT CLASSIC CARS LTD. - While we encourage telephone calls to discuss this vehicle in greater detail we will not respond to inquiries asking "What is the reserve". Also, if you would prefer that we call you to answer any questions about the vehicle; shipping alternatives, etc. please e-mail us with your telephone number and will gladly get back in touch with you. - We encourage inspections of this BMW by serious, qualified individuals or professional inspectors. - Minor cosmetic issues/flaws may be present on every vehicle (regardless of cost) including small chips, nicks, scratches, etc. that can be seen on even the best restoration, or even a relatively new, used "pre-owned" vehicle. Thank You & Happy Bidding Classic Cars Ltd. On May-23-14 at 13:29:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note that in one area of our ad we show the BMW as having a 2.0 liter engine; this is an error. ColorBlueInterior ColorBlueTitleClearOne thing is for certain, after 15+ years of selling high-end classic cars I have never seen another Wagon quite like this one! Now sitting on our showroom floor here @ ‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is this absolutely beautiful numbers matching 1963 Chevrolet Impala 9-Passenger Station Wagon, recent winner of the Goodguys ‘Period-Correct’ Award in Pleasanton California! According to the original Cowl Tag, this rare jewel was built on the 5th week of November 1962 (11E) @ the Los Angeles assembly plant, and then was sold new @ John Drew Chevrolet in Sacramento California. This ultra-rare Impala Wagon left the factory with ALL of the right options, that’s for sure! Finished in factory correct (Code 914) Monaco Blue Metallic wrapped around the factory correct (Code 842) Two-Tone Medium Blue/Light Blue Vinyl interior, with original factory options that include: 327/300hp High Performance engine, Borg-Warner T10 4-Speed Manual Transmission, 3.36 Posi-traction rear axle, Factory Tachometer, Four Seasons Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Front Seat, Power Rear Window, Deluxe Grill Guard, Deluxe Chrome Roof Rack, and AM Pushbutton Radio. Yes, this is a Factory 4-Speed ’63 Impala Wagon loaded w/ options! Have you ever seen another one? This ’63 Impala Wagon spent its entire life in sunny California and ultimately underwent a complete restoration in 2013. All of the original sheet metal was 100% rust free throughout, which really made the restoration process much, much easier. She was professionally refinished in factory correct Monaco Blue Metallic, which is absolutely gorgeous & literally explodes in the sunlight. All of the hard-to-find stainless trim & brightwork is excellent throughout! The entire interior is 95% original to the car and is absolutely MINT throughout! Look closely at the photos and see how spectacular the interior is on this rare Impala Wagon! All of the gauges, light, blinkers, etc. work perfectly, and even the ‘Cold’ light goes on when first started. The clock keeps perfect time and the lighter pops out hot! This is a very special Wagon indeed! Open the hood and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you will find the original numbers matching 327/300hp motor with engine stamp (F1107RK), which tells us it was built on November 7th 1962. The (RK) suffix code reflects a 327/300hp motor w/ Manual Transmission & Air Conditioning. The original numbers matching motor is linked to the original numbers matching Borg-Warner T10 4-Speed Transmission, which is stamped (WL2621) December 26 1962 1st Shift, as well as a partial VIN stamp. The original numbers matching 4-Speed transmission feeds power to the original 3.36 Posi-traction rear axle, which is stamped (BM1126) 3.36 Posi November 26th. This all-original drivetrain was gone through from front to back and completely rebuilt to factory specifications. This Wagon starts up with the flick of the wrist, no cranking necessary, and settles into a nice smooth idle. She runs, drives, steers, brakes & performs beautifully in every way, and is one of the finest driving classic cars that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The strong-running 327/300hp motor has unexpected power & torque, and the Borg-Warner T10 4-Speed transmission shifts smooth as butter with no grinding or weird noises whatsoever. Again, I have driven hundreds & hundreds of classic cars/muscle cars and this 1963 Chevrolet Impala Wagon is up at the top of the list! I would not hesitate to jump in this Wagon and drive her across the country, if I only had the time! Anywhere that I take this Impala Wagon, there is a huge crowd surrounding her within minutes. I mean really, how many 4-Speed Impala Station Wagons have you seen around lately…or ever? Don’t feel too bad, because no one else has either! Paperwork includes: original Owners Manual, original Dealership Brochure, original Chevrolet Owner Protection Plan booklet, (2) 1963 Custom Feature Accessories booklets, original seatbelt diagram, original California black license plate, original John Drew Chevrolet license plate frame, binder of 8x10 restoration photos (before & after), folder of restoration receipts, Goodguys ‘Period-Perfect’ First Place award, and Hang Town Car Show award. This gorgeous numbers matching 1963 Chevrolet Impala 9-Passenger Station Wagon is so unique, so rare, and so correct that it will certainly appreciate in the years to come. Based in Saint George, Utah, R.H.R.C. was founded by Steven Ray Anastos after he relocated to Utah from Southern California. Steven has been dealing in high-end Mopar Muscle Cars since 2003 where he did business in California under the name "Steve’s Killer Bees". Having ridden motorcycles his whole life, he decided to expand the business by dealing in Custom Choppers, Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycles in addition to his growing Muscle Car and Hot Rod business. The stunning landscape, beautiful weather, open roads and no helmet laws make Utah the perfect place for such a business. After finding the ideal location with tons of visibility, Steven opened a brand new showroom in Saint George and plans on being around a very long time. The showroom is very unique as there is nothing else like it in Southern Utah. The area is starving for a taste of the Hot Rod Kulture and R.H.R.C. plans on getting in on the ground floor. They sell Helmets, Goggles, Sunglasses, Hats, Beanies, Jewelry, DVD’s, Books and Hot Rod Collectibles such as Rat Fink, Von Dutch, Clay Smith and Mooneyes. They also market their own line of R.H.R.C. apparel. Much of their business has been and will continue to be internet-based, especially the sale of their high-end Muscle Cars and Hot Rods as many of them are in the six-figure category. They intend to start selling these rare vehicles locally as there seems to be quite a following for Muscle Cars, Hot Rods and Motorcycles in the Southern Utah area. R.H.R.C. holds Car Shows and Special Events monthly at their Saint George location so stop by and see their incredible selection of inventory. If you are not already on their mailing list, please call or email with your contact information and they will keep you informed of any and all events. This auction is a legally binding contract to buy this vehicle. All vehicles are sold as-is unless otherwise specified. I have done my best to accurately describe this vehicle. It is up to the buyer to come see and further inspect the car before the end of the auction.-->

Happy "eBaying"! Paul R. Wankle, Pres. Classic Cars Ltd. Pleasanton, CA 925-846-1451 DETAILS-THIS PARTICULAR 1997 DODGE VIPER GTS RACE CAR CAR HISTORY This Viper is virtually the last remaining car in the collection of the late Dick Carter, a renowned race driver. Mr. Carter drove in NASCAR races for 66 years, even racing at age 81. He was the first promoter of Altamont Raceway in Tracy, California. Mr. Carter bought the Viper late in his career and improved it but most likely never raced it. This is supported by a clean CARFAX record on the car showing only about 300 miles of use since 2002. Further, the CARFAX shows no record of any accidents, although there may have been track incidents. The car is currently titled in California to a Carter family and was part of the estate. The car was converted to race use in the late 1990's and had remarkable success, running vs. Venom Vipers and winning 14 National SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) events from 1998-2001. A photo of the winning dash plaques from 13 of these events is available. As currently professionally set up for racing, the car is not street legal. The car is very light and reportedly extremely fast exhibiting staggering performance. It is an excellent candidate for the appropriate road racing venue (National Auto Sport Association / "NASA", Solo / Autocross or other suitable groups racing). The car starts even after sitting for prolonged periods of time and runs and drives very strong with no apparent issues. Outside of updating safety equipment and tires the car appears to be in race ready condition. One thing is clear; the car is an absolute blast to drive and is very fast! We were told that the professional modifications to make this Viper race ready total about $300,000 and included hundreds of hours of labor. The V10 motor is balanced and blueprinted, the six speed manual transmission is upgraded and the rear end is beefed up to withstand the tremendous horsepower the car develops. Hoosier racing slicks are mounted on new 18" Forgeline wheels ($5000). The car has new fully adjustable Moton shocks ($4500), a lift-off fiberglass hood/front ($2700), new Stoptech 14" brakes and pads ($6000), new custom-made Belanger headers and custom-made side exit mufflers ($4000), and light weight Autoform doors (no inside panels). The list of modifications including significant chassis strengthening and other improvements is too lengthy too list. Qualified buyers are encouraged to inspect the Viper. Both seats are Sparko EVO racing seats. The driver's seat is equipped with a 5-point Teamtech belt dated June 2002. The passenger seat has a lap belt only. The belts look like they have never been used supporting the information that we received that the car has only a few hundred race / track miles since being constructed. The car is equipped with a full race cage including a driver's side bar. Side windows have catch nets installed. The steering wheel is a Momo brand. The exterior is bright painted red with a double white stripe down the center. All body panels and the paint are in good, very presentable condition. There are no signs of significant body damage and only minimal minor imperfections. It seems apparent that the car had very minimal track time as there is almost no "road" (or race rash or patina. In addition to the stock tachometer, speedometer, water temp, oil pressure, fuel and ammeter gauges, both oil temp and trans temp gauges have been added to the right side of the dash (in the former glove box lid). OTHER The current odometer reading is 8,030 miles and, based upon the Carfax report, is believed to be accurate (7,751 miles in 2002). Note that since 2002 the car has accumulated fewer than 300 miles. An indoor car cover is included. IMPORTANT NOTE: The speedometer/odometer and all of the gauges are fully functional. Based on the chronological documentation of the car (Carfax) it appears as if it saw very few actual race miles. We also have information indicating that the car received a mechanical and cosmetic freshening by one of the premier Viper builder in the country several years ago for "freshening". The vehicle has a clear California title and is currently registered as non-operational based on its race car status. Should a future owner choose to convert the Viper to a street car, the title is clear and carries no liens. HISTORY OF THE SECOND GENERATION VIPER (1996-2002) A coupe model called the GTS was introduced in 1996. Dubbed "double bubble", the roof featured slightly raised sections above each seat to accommodate usage of helmets, a throwback to its intended purpose. Vipers can be seen participating often in drag racing and road racing. The GTS, like its predecessor, was chosen as the pace car for the 1996 Indianapolis 500. Despite its similar outward appearance, the car was distinct enough to be considered a new generation model. Extensive modifications included a reworked V10 engine with higher power and less weight, an almost completely redesigned chassis that was made 60 lb lighter and 25% stiffer in torsional rigidity through meticulous computer analysis, a thoroughly redesigned suspension, and reduced braking distances. The 1996 to 2002 Viper GTS had a lighter (approximately 650 lb.) 450 bhp engine, which could complete the quarter mile in 12.3 seconds, 0.3 seconds and 6 mph faster than its predecessor, and increased top speed by 11 mph. The revised suspension, stiffer chassis, and aerodynamic body raised lateral grip to 0.98 g. Slalom runs could often reach or exceed 70 mph. - We encourage inspections of this Viper by serious, qualified individuals or professional inspectors. - Minor cosmetic issues/flaws may be present on every vehicle (regardless of cost) including small chips, nicks, scratches, etc. that can be seen on even the best restoration, or even a relatively new, used "pre-owned" vehicle. Thank You & Happy Bidding Classic Cars Ltd.

However, if you are not prepared to read the full listing, please read the OVERVIEW below along with the PHOTOGRAPHS at the bottom. If you'd prefer, please call us at 925-846-1451 and we'll gladly discuss the Impala and answer any questions over the telephone, including our "Buy it Now" policy. This car is immaculately clean inside, outside, under the hood, under the chassis and in the trunk. The underside is particularly impressive showing no signs of use in inclement weather. It looks every bit the ultra low 16,924 mile car that it is. This Impala SS is as close to having a "new" 18 year old car as it gets. TESTIMONIALS (from owners of the 1996 Impala SS on Edmunds) GM got it right -"I have seven cars but driving the SS is somehow very satisfying. It lopes along, big, black, bad, and then, when called on, just puts you into the comfy seats and gets to really outrageous speeds in a blink. I'm sure that more modern vehicles beat the numbers on acceleration, etc, but blasting around a freeway on ramp in a couple of heart beats with this beast is extremely fun!" Stealth 4-door Vette-"I am an enthusiast and love to drive. I did not really need to order a new SS, but I wanted a toy that would be a fun investment. My SS delivered, yeah it was politically correct with lighter & ashtrays; room and comfort for both my wife & grandmother in the same trip. I only need to pull it out of the garage to turn heads and there is always someone asking me to be 1st bidder when I sell." Still purring-"Have enjoyed owning & driving it for nearly 13 years, transmission & engine have been flawless, still turns heads. I am very proud to own such fine machinery that gets rarer yearly, get offers to sell all the time, have driven across country north-south & east-west, makes for great made-in-America advertising, Passes state emissions/safety tests without fail, plan on keeping all the way." OTHER - Current California registration (license 7ENJ044) and clear California title - Recently passed CA smog testing - Passed the California required safety inspection for working wipers, turn signals, lights, brakes, tires, etc. - All original owner's manuals included - 2 key fobs - Average annual mileage only 950 miles - Driven only 2000 miles in the past 7+ years - Clean CARFAX; no accidents - One owner for first 17+ years - Indoor car cover - Full 4 volume set of "91-96B Parts & Illustrations Catalog" SPECIFICATIONS OF THE 1996 CHEVROLET IMPALA SS - Seventh generation Impala SS - Produced February 14, 1994 to December 13, 1996 in Arlington, TX - 1996 production 41,941 units - B-body platform - 5.7 L (350 cu. In.) V8 engine w/ 260 hp and 330 lb-ft torque - 4-speed 4L60E automatic transmission - Wheelbase 115.9 inches - Length 214.1 inches - Width 77 inches - Height 54.7 inches - Curb weight 4,036 lb. HISTORY OF THE 1994-1996 CHEVROLET IMPALA SS In 1991, the GM B platform was extensively redesigned. The Impala SS badge was resurrected at the 1992 Detroit Auto Show as a concept car designed by GM designer Jon Moss. The concept car was two inches lower to the ground than the regular Caprice, and was powered by a 8.2-liter (500 cu in) engine. Eventually, the concept car's engine was replaced with a 5.7-liter (350 cu in) engine derived from the Corvette in order to show the public what would be offered if put into production. The 1994 Impala SS went into production on February 14, 1994 at GM's plant in Arlington, Texas, and was almost identical cosmetically to the concept car, the only noticeable change being the chromed bowtie logo on the grill. The car was, in essence, a high-performance version of the Caprice. From a mechanical standpoint, it used the Caprice 9C1 police package as its base and as such got most of the equipment formerly available only to law enforcement and government agencies. This included a sport-tuned suspension with reinforced shocks and springs, a high-capacity reverse flow cooling system (derived from the Corvette's LT1), larger four-wheel disc brakes, transmission cooler, dual exhaust, a higher-output electrical system, and other minor mechanical alterations. The Impala SS was uniquely fitted with a standard 3.08 gear. The limited-slip rear differential was standard and the suspension was an inch lower than a Caprice. A retuned LT1 5.7-liter (350 cu in) small-block V8 was standard on the Impala SS, making 260 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. The primary difference between the LT1 in the Impala and the LT1 that was in the Corvette and Camaro was that the Impala engine was fitted with cast-iron cylinder heads instead of aluminum ones, and a camshaft that was designed more for low-end torque than high-end horsepower. Another difference was that the Impala LT1 had 2-bolt main bearing caps while the Corvette LT1 had 4-bolt main bearing caps. The transmission used in the car was the 4L60E, which was an electronically controlled version of the previously hydraulically controlled 4L60. A manual transmission was never available in the 1994-1996 Impala SS. Several other cars in the B/D-body line also shared a similar powertrain: these were the Chevrolet Caprice, Buick Roadmaster, and the [D-body] Cadillac Fleetwood which all shared the LT1 engine and 4L60E automatic transmission. Cosmetically, the Impala SS received body-colored trim, a unique single-bar grille with no hood ornament and, a rear deck spoiler. It was fitted with 17-inch brushed aluminum wheels with 255/50ZR17 all-season Z-rated tires. Inside, the car came with a central console with cup holders (1994 and 1995 models) and a storage compartment, leather seats embroidered with the Impala SS logo, and a standard leather-wrapped steering wheel. For the 1994 model year, it was available only in black with a gray interior. Due to a shortage of the unique five-spoke aluminum wheels, only 6,303 cars were sold. However, the wheel shortage was remedied for the 1995 model year and 21,434 cars were sold. In 1995, Dark Cherry Metallic and Dark Grey Green were added as exterior color options, and the body paneling on the rear quarter panel was altered to reflect the cosmetic effect formerly achieved by a window insert. Another change from 1994 was the placement of the side mirrors from pods attached to the door to a larger format attached to the 'A' pillar. 1996 was the last year of production with 41,941 units sold. The 1996 Impala SS production went late into the model year; the last one being produced on December 13, 1996. It saw minor interior alterations, with the digital speedometer being replaced by an analog one, along with a tachometer. The shifter was moved from the column to the center console, and the engine was given an OBD-II computer control system (the camshaft was reground to adjust for the new computer). Special Ceremony A special ceremony was held at the plant on December 13, 1996 for M.G. "Pinky" Randall, a Chevrolet collector from Houghton Lake, Mich., who bought the last Impala SS. When Randall drove the car with the dark cherry-metallic paint off the line, he was accompanied by County Judge Tom Vandergriff in the front passenger seat. In the back seat were Mayor Richard Greene, plant manager Herb Stone and Lonnie Morgan, president of United Auto Workers Local 276, which represents about 1,900 of the plant's 2,100 employees. "I didn't think this last car would get publicity like this," said Randall, 69. The Impala becomes the 46th vehicle in Randall's Chevrolet collection. Discontinuation The entire B-body line, consisting of the Chevrolet Caprice, Impala SS, and Buick Roadmaster, was discontinued by General Motors, as GM wanted more assembly lines to be able to produce more profitable SUVs. Another fact was that the Caprice was the only B-body with a market share since fleet sales to law enforcement outnumbered sales of all other B-bodies. We have sold hundreds of unique, classic and collectible vehicles and regularly deal with buyers that have not had the experience of purchasing a large (both physically, and monetarily) item on eBay, or through an Internet source. - While we encourage telephone calls to discuss this vehicle in greater detail we will not respond to inquiries asking "What is the reserve". Also, if you would prefer that we call you to answer any questions about the vehicle, shipping alternatives, etc. please e-mail us with your telephone number and will gladly get back in touch with you. - We encourage inspections of this Impala by serious, qualified individuals or professional inspectors. - Minor cosmetic issues/flaws may be present on every vehicle (regardless of cost) including small chips, nicks, scratches, etc. that can be seen on even the best restoration, or even a relatively new, used "pre-owned" vehicle. Terms & Conditions Buyers outside of California will be responsible for a $195.00 fee for processing/administration. The charge will apply if the vehicle is purchased through ebay or before or after the auction, directly through Classic Cars Ltd. The vehicle is listed for sale elsewhere. Thank You & Happy Bidding Classic Cars Ltd.

Print this listing Offered by Carbuffs, Inc. of Concord, Ca. 1969 Camaro Super Street More photos below At first glance you may try to figure out what futuristic medium this fire breathing monster has come from. Then on closer inspection you see that this really is a true 1969 Camaro taken to the max. Everything about this package says GO!! Original concept was to build the fastest street car and the owner surely accomplished that with some to spare. The car is now configured to be the wildest street legal Camaro on the planet. Yes I did say street legal!! (Registered & Currently Licensed), Just imagine the stir you will cause at the local cruise in, car show or a visit to the race strip. You will definitely be in a class all your own. This is not the ride for the faint of heart or the bashful type who does not enjoy attracting a crowd. The first thing you notice about this growling monster is the quality of the build. Everything is done perfect with nothing withheld and no expense spared. The fit and finish is beyond spectacular for this all metal 69. From the flawless body lines to the perfectly fabricated interior this build screams quality and beauty. There is no fiberglass here and no corners have been cut. The chassis is fabricated out of 4130 chrome- moly tubing built to 25-1c specifications. The custom interior is fabricated out of polished aluminum. The car is a true pro build from the well known Top Of The Hill in Pleasanton, Ca. Seeing as how the car is all metal it does weigh in a little bit more than a fiberglass car might and to account for the extra weight the car sports a 10 litre 636ci Arias Hemi to move it down the road. The engine is built on an aluminum Arias block, with a Velasco 5-inch stroke billet crankshaft and uses Brooks aluminum connecting rods. The heads come from Arias and are hemi style aluminum with Arias shaft. MSD 7AL and MSD Super Coil ignition system. Ultra Dyne cam. Hand made headers. 8.5 to 1 compression ratio allows the car to be driven on 92 octane pump gas but 110 octane is required for maximum performance. Induction is from a massive Ron Caps Limited Production supercharger that uses an Arias magnesium intake manifold and an Enderle Buzzard-Catcher injector. This combination is capable of over 1800hp on alcohol. Car is currently configured to run on gasoline. Getting this amazing HP to the rear wheels is accomplished through Lenco 4- speed planetary transmission with a triple disc clutch, Lakewood bell-housing and a strange chrome-moly drive-shaft connected to a Ford 9" rearend.
