Up for auction is a 1965 Mustang K-code coupe equipped with a rebuilt 302 and manual 4 speed transmission. Presented in an un-restored driver quality condition with all exterior lights in working order. This car starts right up, and shifts through all gears smoothly. The 4-wheel drum brakes stop the car well. It has a clean title. The cars Vin# is 5R07K137595 Vin# on engine reads 8R125010 Casting code near starter is C8OE-6015-ACA Registration Reads Year first sold 1964 passenger Door latch reads 7/64 Drivers 8/64 Dates above headliner read 8/27d2, 8/23d3, Original Paint looks to be Poppy Red *i received some information that all R code cars in 64 had a vin under 125000 this means this is a 1965 k-code CLICK HERE For K-Code Production Stats **More info to come on engine... Interior:Interior condition is driver quality, with a great overall appearance but could use a restoration, front seats are in great shape with high back seats and rare head rests adding a bit of comfort and a real race car feel, rear bench seat is in need of new upholstery, with a tear present on the bottom half. No headliner, needs new dash pad, radio is there but not installed, dash has been cut out roughly for the stereo to fit. Exterior:Exterior body work is needed . the car when purchased was flat black but was factory painted red. With a professionals touch this K code can be restored to its original glory putting some attention to detail in the needed areas. The driver side door has a dent that someone poorly attempted to repair (replacement door will be included), Rear driver side quarter panel appears to have had minor rust at the bottom behind drivers side wheel, but again a poor attempt at a repair is present (original not aftermarket drivers side quarter panel is included). Undercarriage:The frame rails beneath both front shock towers are solid with no rust present; the floor-pans have been unprofessionally repaired by the same individual who attempted the body work. They are holding together and solid, but could use a professional’s touch. The floor pan frame rail support/extension has sustained damage from improper floor jack procedures but again is solid needing a professionals touch. Trunk area is rust free and solid. Overall this car is undeniably a great driver worthy of restoration, with a great base being that it’s a rare K-code. I’m available to answer any further questions that you may have. I have no documentation on the rebuilt status of the engine, I was told it was rebuilt by a reputable local engine shop, but again I have no documents to prove this. All glass is intact with no cracks, windows roll up and down smooth, drip rails are solid, I have all the emblems as well,.

I was introduced to him through Robert Nethercutt, a flying friend of mine. The car was Located back east. We bought it the car and had it shipped directly to Mike’s home and shop in Sun Valley for a bare metal repaint and mechanical sorting prior to me taking possession. If you are not familiar with Mike Regalia, He is a very well respected Ferrari Restorer probably best known for his work and Sale of the Steve McQueen 250GTL (Lusso)I have a binder with the photos of the The color that we painted the car was the same color that the factory painted it when new. The interior of the car is original black leather / black carpet. I re-dyed the front seats this year and the mouse fur was replaced in 99 with the correct material. I have the factory build sheet that is included in the photo set that shows the original colors and options. The motor was strong when we bought the car. We pulled the engine compartment down to the heads and rebuilt everything else. Today the car shows 49, XXX original miles. I believe that my brother Richard and I are the 3rd owners of the car.Note that 15189 has always been in good This car is not a Franken-C/4 that somebody has dolled up for sale at auction. The car is a matching numbers car that was unmolested, 100% intact and correct when I bought it. When Mike took the paint off, the original paint by the way. The only signs of damage was a repair on the front right headlight bucket. Everything that belongs in a C/4 is in place and is correct all the way down to the Cheney hose clamps.Recently, I have done some significant work on In the last 2 years, the suspension has been rebuilt and I changed the rear load levelers out for Koni coil overs. I still have the original load Levelers. In the last year I have rebuilt the transmission and the rear end. The starter motor has been replaced, the alternator has been rebuilt. The relay / fuse block has been removed, cleaned and re-grounded. The water pump with both the water and oil seals have been replaced. The Becker Mexico radio was serviced last year and plays correctly. The A/C was serviced this summer and it blows cold. The cars sits on new Michelin XWX tires. Maybe 2000 miles on them now.
