The Series II Dragon Roadster uses race-proven stock Corvette C4 aluminum suspension components in a dedicated race quality space frame chassis with a vintage-styled original fiberglass body and small block engine. Offered For Sale by the California Automobile Museum The Dragon Motor Cars Prototype Series II Roadster. In the words of the builders, this Dragon is "No Nonsense High Performance". This Dragon is powered by a 1996/1997 General Motors LT-1 series V8 coupled to a 4L60E 4 Speed Automatic transmission. The mechanical configuration is still generally as originally installed. The Dragon rides on adjustable coil over shocks in all four corners, steering and handling as well as the suspension for the front end was provided by a C-4 Corvette donor. Out back you'll find a solid 10 bolt G.M. axle mounted in a 4 link configuration and a modified drive line connecting it all together. Manual dual circuit 4 wheel disc brakes with dual piston calipers up front and single pistons in the rear provide ample stopping power and the American Racing Torque Thrust rims wrapped in Toyo Proxes 4 275/40 ZR17 tires transfer your desires to go or stop to the ground. Additionally, for added performance and longevity, the braking circuits are plumbed with steel braided brake lines. The LT-1 engine has been dressed up with some tasteful additions including true dual exhaust with custom exhaust headers and functional side pipes. (a modification completed by the original fabricators of the Dragon) A chrome alternator has been installed and Corvette covers atop the intake. Cooling is efficiently handled by an electric pilot controlled fan fastened to an aluminum Griffin radiator. The large air inlet in the front allows the Series II to cool much better than its predecessor. Electrically, the Dragon utilizes the factory designed system for the LT-1 engine and power is supplied by a newer Die Hard series battery. At 2200 pounds or so, this High Performance vehicle is pure business. There are no frills, no amenities, and no creature comforts. Mechanical and vitals are monitored by 6 gauges including Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, Battery and Charging System Voltage, Fuel Level, Tachometer, and a Speedometer. Turn signals, Headlights, Electric Fans, Windshield Wipers, Horn, and High/Low Beam Headlight operations are controlled by neatly installed toggle switches in easy reach of the pilot. You won't find a need for a stereo in this machine. The sound of the engine and finely tuned exhaust provide all the listening pleasure you will ever need. Operating this machine is no major issue. There is plenty of leg room in the cockpit for even the tallest of drivers. The side profile of the car is low and very easy to enter even considering one has to step over the side into the pilots seat. Once comfortably seated, the pilot has the protection of a full body width roll bar, chrome fire extinguisher, and RJS Racing 5 point harnesses to protect against nearly any unfortunate event that may arise. Operation of this ferocious Dragon is handled by the Radio Controlled Paddle shift and the GT Grant removable steering wheel. As with any vehicle used over a period of 8 plus years, no matter how meticulously cared for, one will find a few minor blemishes. This Dragon is no exception. On the exterior, the recently modified paint (original paint scheme reversed from red with black accents to its current configuration) has a small bubble on the right rear section of the trunk lid just in front of the integrated spoiler and some very minor road rash on the chin up front. Some swirls are also present but should be easily removed with a high quality detail. The *Leather* interior is in very good condition with no tears, rips, or other signs of wear other than some discoloration on the pilot's seat from where one would place their foot while stepping in to the car. For the most part, the overall function of this Dragon is as it should be. The steering and suspension are tight, responsive, and trouble free. Acceleration, shifting, and stopping are all breath taking, and the car is not only exciting, but a head turner no matter where you are. A few things worth mentioning that the perspective buyer would like to know are as follows; there is evidence of oil seepage at the front timing cover seal, the odometer, the horn, windshield wiper, and fog lights do not currently work, and the pilot's side rear view mirror lense is missing. 1965 High Performance Barracuda For Sale in Clarkston, Washington  99403 Look out classic car enthusiasts!  This 1965 Plymouth Performance A Group Barracuda is a rare find that comes dressed to impress!  This two-door pony car features beautiful white paint that is complimented by a clean, tan colored interior.  This show car is sure to turn heads, however it has been fully restored with highway performance in mind.  This Barracuda has 86,000 original miles including 13,000 miles since the restoration.  Generally Barracudas of this model year came with either a slant 6 engine, 180 hp 273 cubic inch V8, or the Formula S with the high performance 235 hp 273 V8, heavy duty suspension, larger 14 inch wheels, and a tachometer. Like the Formula S, the Performance A Group had the high performance engine and heavy duty suspension, but lacked the larger wheels and tachometer. The V8 Commando badge shown in pictures is unique to this car. This Plymouth Barracuda appears to be original, however looks can be deceiving.  The engine was replaced with a custom balanced 324 cubic inch Mopar mill. The 273's closed chamber heads, manifold, rocker arms and carburetor were retained. Pistons and cam was supplied by Hughes Engine and it has a compression of 9.6 to 1, with a forged crank from a 1967 Fury.  Also installed were new ball joints, tie rods, KYB shocks and polygraphite bushings.  The original .86 inch diameter front anti-sway bar was replaced with one that is one inch diameter, and .75 inch diameter was installed in the rear.  It also has a 2 ¾ inch single exhaust with an Accelerator muffler. A custom rectangular stainless steel resonator was built patterned after the original.  The stock 13 inch by  4.5 inch wheels were replaced with 14 inch by 8 inch Modern wheels, mated to radial 205-60 H rated tires.  Additionally, the manual 24 to 1 ratio steering gear was modified to a 16 to 1 ratio. Up for sale is my 1982 Datsun 280ZX. I bought this car in July 2012 as a hobby for something to do & to spend some money. It had 52,910 miles when bought. After driving it a few thousand miles to make sure I had no lemon I wheeled it into garage & done following things. Complete Suspension Rebuild - Ball Joints,Tie Rods,Wheel Bearings,Shocks & Springs (Tokio) Brake Disc. (Drilled American Made) & Tires. Car had it's Orignal Tires still on it when bought. I then replaced the rear Universal Joints & All Brake Hoses (6 of them) Having no transmission difficulities I decided to replace the clutch anyway because of miles. Original clutch showed normal wear corresponding to miles,( have it to prove) Replaced all belts & hoses & flushed coolant system. Gave the car a complete tune-up with plugs,wires,cap & rotor & timing check. I then replaced the whole exhaust system with same type stock & new catalytic converter. When finished took the car to local Nissan Dealership for Compression Check & Full Inspection, PSI Readings came out Excellent. Car had complete diagnostic,fuel system check. Came out needing a new fuel regulator & valve cover gasket because I asked the mechanic to check the valves as per specified manual maintenance for miles car had. Valves were fine but did need minor adjustment. All electrical,diagnostic (emissions) & fuel system delivery worked as they should. PSI #1-145, #2-150, #3-150, #4-148, #5-148, #6-152 Car gets good gas milelage if driven properly @ 24mpg in warm weather & about 18-20 in cold. Hot Highway Miles takes it to around 27. What Don't Work ? Cruise Control, worked when bought but quit soon after. Stereo System, I took out the old speakers when had the interior out to work on clutch. Power Attenna, Not caring about a radio I took it out. Car Needs minor Body Work as can be seen in photos. Also could use the ceiling material re-glued. Interior Itself is nice, no cracks in dash, no marked up or stained seats. Carpet decent enough. Drives Perfect ! Straight & Even & Brakes Good. NOTE ! THIS IS NOT A FAST CAR ! Most of these cars were beat to oblivion but this one made it. It rides a bit hard because I wanted a sporty & go-cart like feel with no body roll like stock model. Due have stock springs that come with car if you want to soften it up. Have driven the car approx 9,000 miles since all work done & not even a hick-up. Those 9k miles have taken me almost 2/1/2 years to put on it. Car is always garaged. My Price is Flat & Fair. So don't even waste your time e-mailing me with offers. Wanted to spend money & work on a car & I did. Just don't drive it nearly as much as I thought I would (Getting Old) & could use garage space. Great Deal for Someone ! BODY/PAINT: Very solid frame & body (unrestored; "farmer" respectfully kept condition). That means, didn't push/pull a tractor or push the fence down with it. Couple scratches, dings, decent paint job years ago with some non-peeling crackle. Magnet sticks to everything-all areas of both doors, etc, etc. No accidents. Doors do not fly open hitting bumps or turning corners at 90MPH (of course kidding about cornering @ 90mph, but not about doors staying closed on all cornering). MECHANICALS: Yes, truly starts in 10 seconds or less. NO oil burn smoke *anytime*. Clutch never slips. Never runs hot (does have an auxillary electric cooling fan, but I have never had to turn it on even in Florida scorch time of day). Old tranny is a slow top loader floor shifter, as was expected from new. Brakes are safe. Has an electric fuel pump (w/mechanical in place also as just show). Steering box is smooth original with minimal play ( even new in 1940 it wasn't el perfect tight) & no kinking/rough feels. Tires are not dry rotted. Could use a carb rebuild or removal & tightening of lower gasket screws at some point (little seapage on bottom; doesn't effect performance). No other over-all system leaks as of this writing. Roll up windows work good. Cowl vent opens for that 1940 A/C. ELECTRICS: No shorts. New battery 4 days ago (old one had 2 bad cells). All lights work except maybe dash gauge lights. Oil, charge & added temp gauges work. INTERIOR: New (a pinch of upgrade) seat; cardboard surrounds; interior light added (again, pinch of upgrade); mat; glass, etc. New jeweled/chrome exhaust tips. All glass seals fairly new. OWNERSHIP: requires a knowledge of market, old vehicle mechanicals, & the ability to decide on unique time capsule ownership worth paying for. All others need not apply.
