If you are looking to build a Bullet Nose Studebaker, this car is the one. It's the very desirable, still talked about, radical design inspired by World War II fighter planes, the Starlight Coupe. The 4 piece. wrap-a-round back window and sloping body design made it the car that people said, "Didn't know if it was going forwards or backwards." The nose design was reminiscent of the jet fighter air intakes and has been popular with car enthusiasts forever. 1950 was Studebakers greatest sale year, ever. Extremely solid body and frame. Stored in a shed for almost 40 years in dry Arizona climate. Some parts had been removed and stored in the trunk, perhaps getting ready for a re-paint due to the sanding that had been done. Most parts have been re-installed and others have been acquired from parts cars to make this Starlight Coupe as complete as I can make it. I know the radio, rear-view mirror, glove box door emblem and the door panels are missing. The drivers door glass is cracked. All the rest of the glass is serviceable. I plan to include 2 more doors and one has a good glass. Sometime in it's life the transmission tunnel had been cut. There is another tunnel piece included. Critters helped destroy the 65 year old wiring and upholstery. Headliner is ripped out, but the bows are still attached. Engine turns over by hand, but no attempt has been made to start it due to the condition of wiring and fuel lines. It's condition is unknown. Transmission is a 3 speed manual with overdrive. Anyone that has built an old car will tell you that rust is the one factor that costs money to fix with no extra value in return. This car has very little rust. I have found 2 small spots. One on the passenger door, (2 more doors will be included) and one spot on the passenger front fender. The floors are very solid, as is the trunk. The doors open and close with no sag or drag, and latch just like new. Hood and trunk fit as well as any I have seen. The car shows no signs of ever being in an accident. Car rolls and steers for loading. I'm thinning my herd of Studebakers and this is the project that is most complete and will take the least amount of effort to complete. There is still a lot of work to do, but it's a solid, complete car to start with and will make a really desirable driver or show car. Bullet Nose Studebakers always have a crowd around them at the shows. They make really interesting customs and resto-rods too. With the patina this car has, it would qualify for the Rat Rod class also. Please contact me for more info or pictures of areas of concern. I welcome inspections prior to auction close. I advertise the item as well as I can, good and bad, and have a 100% positive feedback. I may be able to help with transportation in lower 48, within reason. I'm not fond of driving in snow. This ’55 Champion is a rarely seen 2-door wagon that is sure to be a hit with everyone at the next car show or cruise night. With its beautiful blue and white paint, the color combination is striking. The paint on the car is in very good condition with only a few minor scratches and chips. There is nothing major showing anywhere on this very solid body. Both front and rear chrome bumpers are in excellent and look great with a brilliant shine. The rest of the stainless trim around the car looks equally as nice with no pitting. Inside, the tan seats show no notable wear and are in very good overall condition. The tan carpet is in good overall condition as well. Headliner, door panels and kick panels are all in good condition with no major wear showing. The dashboard has some very minor imperfections and houses a set of original style gauges and an AM radio. One gauge has a crack but overall, the dash shows well. For sale is a 1941 Studebaker Champion 202 Coupe located in our Indianapolis showroom. This is an all steel \'41 Studebaker Coupe that absolutely draws attention wherever it goes. This 1941 Studebaker 202 Coupe is powered by a rebuilt Ford 302 CID V8 engine, backed by a AOD 4-speed automatic transmission, running to a Ford 8\" rear end with 3.88 gears. The small block 302 CID V8 is a rebuilt Marshall Blueprint engine and makes great power along with being very streetable and reliable. A few other nice touches you will find under the hood are additions of an aluminum intake, Holley carburetor, ceramic coated headers, and an electric cooling fan. Behind that small block sits an AOD 4-speed automatic transmission outfitted with a transmission cooler and aluminum driveshaft and provides much better fuel economy over a typical 3-speed transmission. It is rare to find a vehicle of this vintage that truly could be used as a daily driver. Mechanically it is very solid. The exterior is believed to be 100% original. Interior is the same with the exception of the carpet, seat upholstery, and seat belts. Would be an excellent candidate for restoration but we think the patina gives this car character and charm. We really like the way this car drives. Feels more refined and solid than other cars of the era. Studebaker put a lot of attention into the details. The car starts easily every time and runs smooth and quiet. Gears shift smoothly & easily with positive feel. “Automatic Hill-Holder” makes stopping and starting on an incline an easy task. Factory overdrive engages simply by momentarily releasing the accelerator at or above approximately 31 mph. A less common feature that allows for the highway speeds of today. All gauges work. Odometer works. Horn Works. Turn signals and vacuum wipers operate correctly. Studebaker was quality to start with and it shows in the fit and finish. Everything is smartly appointed and solid. This was Studebaker’s answer to the Chevy Nomads of the day.This ’55 Champion is a rarely seen 2-door wagon that is sure to be a hit with everyone at the next car show or cruise night. With its beautiful blue and white paint, the color combination is striking. The paint on the car is in very good condition with only a few minor scratches and chips. There is nothing major showing anywhere on this very solid body. Both front and rear chrome bumpers are in excellent and look great with a brilliant shine. The rest of the stainless trim around the car looks equally as nice with no pitting.Inside, the tan seats show no notable wear and are in very good overall condition. The tan carpet is in good overall condition as well. Headliner, door panels and kick panels are all in good condition with no major wear showing.
