Paul Nouvet 443-562-0434 2000 CHEVROLET EXPRESS 1500 GLADIATOR CONVERSION, 177,442 MILES Autocheck shows this car to be a one owner with no accidents. This car was just traded in at a local new car dealership, that is some pretty positive history! The engine runs great! The 4.3L V6 engine provides ample power and decent fuel efficiency. There is no smoking or hesitation. There are no strange noises and no valves tapping. There are no oil leaks. The automatic transmission works perfectly. It shifts smooth as glass with no issues. The front brake rotors were just replaced last month along with both rear drums, front and rear brake pads are in excellent shape. All 4 tires are in excellent shape with plenty of tread (80% or more). There is a full size spare tire in excellent shape underneath the van and jack in the rear cargo area. There are no warning lights lit on the dash. The vehicle drives great. No rattles, it feels excellent. We have totally inspected the front end components for play. All components are tight. Our cars are mechanically sound when they leave our dealership. We spend countless hours checking them over and repairing them. The steering is tight and accurate. The car does not drift left or right. The wheel is centered while driving. The paint on this car is excellent overall. All of the paint is shiney and it looks much newer than a 2000. This car is truly beutiful. The only blemishes on the body are scrapes on the running boards and small dents on the rear bumper. The right front wheel is missing 1 center cap. The interior has some minor wear and tear due to its age but overall very nice (as seen in pictures). The 3rd row seat converts into a bed for all traveling needs. The odometer is correct and working, it reads 177k miles. All of the controls are also in excellent working order with no looseness or play. The van is equipt with a VCR and T.V. monitor that supports auxillary inputs. All of the windows work perfectly the car is in great roadworthy condition. I have personaly driven this car many times. It is definitley dependable and comfortable. The heat is very hot and the air conditioning is ice cold. The car comes Maryland state safety inspected for Maryland residents only. I have the title in hand and on site. It is 100% transferable and registerable in any state and has no liens. All of the cars we sell on eBay go through an intense mechanical inspection in our shop. The Chevelle was one of Chevrolet’s most popular models it has ever sold, it was one of the best selling cars of its era, and it remains to be a model that is coveted by hot rodders and collectors alike. Introduced on September 26, 1963 and built between model years 1964 and 1977, the Chevrolet Chevelle was available in a wide array of body styles; everything from a two-door sport coupe to a four-door estate wagon. Chevrolet, after realizing that their Impala model was seemingly growing by the foot, needed a mid-size model to fit in between it and the recently-released compact Nova/Chevy II. Chevrolet, wanting to get their point across that this was a driver’s car, and not a stripped-out racer, included every comfort and convenience Chevelle option available, including a tachometer, so the driver could keep a close eye on his revs that the L37 provided, a 160mph speedometer (presumably to help keep Johnny Law out of his or her rear view mirror), and deluxe front and rear seat belts to help keep occupants safe and in place, in the event that the vehicle’s owner ever decided to go crazy and engage in any extracurricular activities. An AM/FM radio, padded dash, and a remote driver’s side mirror came as standard equipment as well. 1968 delivered a whole new redesign for the Chevelle and its A-body cousins. Electrical: All exterior lights are in working order to include the headlights, tail lights, running lights, blinkers and the plate light. (The backup lights are not connected.) New GM hoses, with appropriate tower clamps, snake around clean Harrison air conditioning and a correct Frigidaire compressor. This coupe is a fully sorted, big block rocket that's ready to put the "Super" back in "Yenko Super Car". If you're searching for some old school Chevrolet muscle that wraps killer performance in outstanding looks, your Chevelle has arrived! BODYWORK/TRIM One can't help but smile when they look at a Chevelle this cool. Assembled in Baltimore, Maryland, it's everything car guys dream of from the first time they say "muscle car" to the day they trade their high octane V8 for an electric rascal motor. Decked in PPG Tuxedo Black 2-stage, and displaying a traditional array of Yenko Super Car stripes, this Chevy is the product of a detailed, 11-year restoration that started with a solid body and fresh NOS fenders. At the back of that intake, a reliable points distributor shoots spark through eight MSD Super Conductor plug wires. Below those cables, bright chrome valve covers perfectly contrast Winters aluminum heads, which seat solid lifters over stock exhaust manifolds. And, at the front of those valve covers, pliable GM hoses snake through authentic tower clamps to a heavy-duty radiator that's mounted beside a clean, Delco-topped battery. Aesthetically, this road ready Chevelle's glossy exterior paint is perfectly complemented by a monochromatic engine bay that's been detailed to a very high level. BODYWORK/TRIM The beneficiary of a professional, ground-up restoration that was completed in mid 2009, this real-deal Super Sport wears a clean and solid body under correct Regal Red 2-stage. Recognizing the car's significance as a real-deal SS396, the restorers decided to keep trim and ornamentation just as the General specified. Out front, a black Super Sport grille centers a prominent "SS396" emblem between a new chrome bumper, small parking lamps and bright, halogen headlights. At the top of the car, like-new glass is caged between polished stainless wipers, straight stainless frames, correct Black vinyl and a chrome-trimmed Super Sport hood. At the sides of that glass, correct ornamentation and a small, bowtie-branded mirror frame traditional door handles, dent-free wheel lips and correct Super Sport rocker guards. And out back, a color-keyed, "CHEVELLE" branded valance hangs 2-tone taillights and a second "SS396" emblem above a broad chrome bumper. ENGINE Glance under this Chevy's mirror-slick hood and you'll find an original, 396 cubic inch L35 big block that's been fully rebuilt, completely restored and thoroughly sorted! Branded with a familiar 3855961 casting number, a correct "EDH" suffix stamp and a matching partial VIN, this legendary engine utilizes hydraulic lifters, a forged steel crank and closed-chamber, oval-port heads to turn beefy 10.25 to 1 compression into an easy 325 horsepower. At the top of the mill, a black and chrome, single-snorkel air cleaner feeds oxygen to a reliable Holley 4-barrel that's centered behind a tagged stainless fuel line. That air/fuel mixture travels in to a painted Holley intake, which rides between correct, cast iron heads and bright chrome valve covers. At the bottom of those heads, fully restored exhaust manifolds send spent gases in to high performance, true-dual pipes. At the back of those manifolds, a traditional points distributor shoots spark through fresh Packard TV R Suppression cables. And in front of those cables, a factory radiator swills water through pliable GM hoses and correct tower clamps. Aesthetically, the spotless big block is covered in a traditional coat of Chevy Orange paint that contrasts very well to the car's satin inner fenders and glossy red exterior. And everything, from the big mill's fresh decals and authentic Delco Moraine brake booster to its correct alternator and new Delco battery topper, has been professionally installed and completely detailed. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION What good would a killer big block be without a tough drivetrain and solid suspension to back it up? Behind the car's thundering 396, a proven Muncie 4-speed, which wears a Muncie (P) assembled on December (12) 1st (01) build stamp, sends power to a tough GM 12-bolt and correct 3.55 gears. That fully marked drivetrain is held off the ground by a restored, tagged and marked chassis, which features fresh shocks, modern power steering and rebuilt power drum brakes. At the center of that chassis, aluminized exhaust pipes run from the aforementioned manifolds to aggressive Flowmaster mufflers while fresh stainless fuel lines run from the aforementioned Holley to a new stainless tank. At the corners of the car, painted steelies twist 7.75-14 Firestone Deluxe Champion redlines around simulated mag hubcaps. And overall, the bottom of this awesome A-Body has been restored to the same high standards as its solid exterior panels and clean engine compartment. INTERIOR Naturally, this Chevelle's thorough restoration included the installation of a correct Black interior. Firm bench seats hang old school Fisher lap belts above fresh floor mats, stainless-trimmed foot pedals and a contoured shifter. In October of 1992 a gentleman by the name of Wayne Garver who lives in Booneville, Maryland purchased this 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air at the Carlisle Car Show. It was an all original car with a little over 79,000 original miles. The minute he laid eyes on this rare beauty he had to purchase it. From the research he gathered the car was a two owner vehicle. It was a very solid North Carolina car and the title was from 1985. He immediately sent the car out to be completely restored but unfortunately the company who he hired to do the car wasn’t holding up to their end of the deal. Wayne decided to take the restoration on himself and pay close attention to detail in every aspect. He spent the next five years restoring the car to what you see here today. He actually had the car on jack stands in his garage where he laid on his back and restored the undercarriage. He spent tons and tons of time bringing back this amazing American classic. I purchased the car from the gentleman who purchased the car from Wayne. He provided Wayne’s information so I could contact him and get all the details. Wayne was great to speak with and I could tell from our conversation he’s a great guy. He finished the car in January of 1995 and decided to take it to its first car show in Virginia where it where it won First Junior (AACA). He continued to show the car for many years winning many awards which include AACA Senior Grand National and Chevrolet Classic Nationals Platinum Winner where it scored 993 of 1000 possible points. Although the car was trailered to most shows, one time his truck fuel pump broke and he and his wife drove the car over 100 miles straight home. It drove and ran amazing. He decided after many years of ownership it made financial sense to sell his baby. He sold it to the gentleman I purchased the car from in 2013. He misses the car a lot and will always have a special place in his heart for it. All of the sheet metal is original to the car other than the driver’s side front fender. The body is very straight and the gaps are great. The hood, doors and trunk lid open and close excellent. The car was painted in its original factory color combination of Dusk Plum and India Ivory. This is a show quality paint job that is virtually flawless. We recently buffed it to a magnificent shine. This car has huge eyeballs! This color combination is extremely rare and high collectable among tri-five enthusiasts. I would challenge anyone to find a 1956 Bel Air in this color on the market for sale. Barrett Jackson hasn’t even had a 1956 Bel Air in this color combination. Breakdown of the trim tag: Style No # 56 -1037 D = 1956 Bel Air 2-door hardtop sports coupe Body No # M – 9795 Trim No # 579 = Charcoal with Ivory Paint No #708D = Dusk Plum with India Ivory Everything on the exterior of this car has been restored or replaced. It stills retains a lot of original equipment such as all the glass with exception of the passenger glass which broke during the restoration. The glass is in excellent condition. Both the front and rear bumpers are also original to the car and were rechromed. Everything else is in excellent condition such as the trim, lights, moldings, emblems, antenna, wipers, etc. It has a cool feature called a view finder which allows you to see around the car. The car sits on the correct style BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewall tires. This is one of the sexiest Bel Airs I’ve ever seen! The Charcoal with Ivory interior is absolutely stunning and in like new condition. When you’re sitting in this car it’s seriously like sitting in the car 59 years ago on the showroom floor. It smells new for crying out loud. Everything in the interior is in working order. Yes, that’s right. Everything works including such items as the horn, gauges, lights, heat, radio and clock. The radio has a tube and takes a few minutes to turn on and the clock will stop eventually. It requires lubrication to get it going again. Right now it’s not running which helps not drain the battery anyway. I’ve personally driven this car multiple times and the interior of this car has no rattles or any noises. It’s hard to describe the way it is. I’m lost for words! The trunk compartment is very neat and organized. Its home to the matching spare rim with correct BF Goodrich Silvertown tire and trunk mat. It has the correct sticker as well. The engine compartment is highly detailed and home to the original 265 V8 engine. This engine runs so amazing. It starts with a flip of the key every time and takes no time to warm up. Wayne knew a gentleman that restores these carburetors and he told him that when he was done it with it would run like nothing he’s ever owned. The gentleman was right. Also, the engine and transmission in this car have never been rebuilt. They’ve both been freshened up but there was no need to rebuild a factory built engine and transmission with less than 80,000 miles. Especially an engine and transmission that operate like these do. There only original once! The engine compartment has many factory correct features including such items as the hoses, radiator and battery. The engine is coupled to a very rare 3-speed manual transmission that shifts on the column. The clutch is very smooth and its shifts like butter. This car cruises like a high end Mercedes Benz. Rear-end GM #3707306 and #34308. Tag #301. The undercarriage of this car is simply amazing as is the rest of the car. It was all done in the correct red oxide paint. Everything was restored or replaced. Newer shocks were added to give the car a smoother ride but the original style shocks are included. This is a mirror quality undercarriage. “As my website indicates I’ve collected and sold over 300 beautiful classic vehicles over the years. Get it before someone else does!” Marc Schiliro- the owner Inspection ReportUnfortunately most classic vehicles that are being advertised for sale by dealers and private parties aren't exactly what are being advertised for sale. This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different. The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages. Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration. An example would be a classic vehicle that's being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc. Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored. There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components. The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale. At MS CLASSIC CARS I own the entire inventory and take pride in what I sell. BODYWORK/TRIM Originally sold in Statesville, North Carolina, most likely to an avid Tar Heels fan, this solid Super Sport is the beneficiary of a high quality, frame-off restoration that was completed in the spring of 2014. After well-known Chevelle tech Doug Garrett finished a small amount of metalwork, the car's laser-straight panels were gifted correct Carolina Blue 2-stage by Steve Gibson at Rusty Fender Restoration. Once that 2-stage was allotted sufficient drying time, its surfaces were sanded and buffed into a ripple-free finish that's literally as smooth as glass. And today, this top dog Chevy sits as a spectacular piece of iconic American muscle that's detailed to better-than-new standards. By 1969, Chevrolet's Chevelle had earned the tagline "America's most popular mid-size". And GM, knowing not to mess with a good thing, rang in the new model year with minimal aesthetic changes. At the front of this coupe, a black-trimmed grille centers a fresh "SS396" emblem between bright headlights, clear parking lamps and a new chrome bumper. Behind that grille, an SS-exclusive hood props finned louvers between a flashy Chevelle script and pristine greenhouse glass that's framed in straight stainless trim. At the sides of that hood, traditional door handles and a fresh chrome mirrors complement bold fender badges, dent-free wheel trim and small marker lamps. Below that 4-barrel, a sea of brilliant Chevy Orange covers the block from the top of its cast iron intake to the base of its stamped steel oil pan. At the back of that intake, a traditional points distributor shoots fire through 7mm AC Delco Premium Wires. Below those wires, mirrored valve covers reflect freshly restored exhaust manifolds. And in front of those covers, a heavy duty radiator feeds pliable GM hoses and familiar tower clamps. Aesthetically, this road ready Chevelle's custom exterior paint perfectly contrasts a smooth, Satin Black engine bay. High quality extraneous bits, like stainless fluid lines, a Delco battery topper and a correct Delco-Moraine brake booster, are present and accounted for. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Under this impressive A-Body you'll find a fully sorted chassis that's been restored to the same brilliant standards as the body's straight exterior panels. At the center of correctly finished floors, an original GM Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed, which wears a correct "CC 69" assembly stamp opposite a matching partial VIN, twists torque to an original GM 12-bolt. That "CW" code axle is held in place by a restored F41 heavy duty suspension, which mixes factory power steering with power front disc and rear drum brakes. Exhaust floats from the aforementioned manifolds to aluminized pipes, which cap aggressive turbo mufflers with spotless stainless tips. Power flows from attractive Super Sport wheels to modern 225/70R14 BF Goodrich Radial T/As. And everything under this Chevy, from its fresh fluid lines and correct grease marks to its boxed control arms and bright fuel tank, is super clean and ready to roll!
