The product of an uncompromising vision and many talented builders, this stunning Chevy wraps a tuned LS3 small block and stalwart 4L60E transmission in a custom suspension and classic aesthetics. And, if you're a fellow enthusiast who's looking to satisfy an unrelenting need to headline shows and make a big statement, it's the award-winning pickup of your dreams! BODYWORK/TRIM Professionally restored by Legens Hot Rod Shop of Martin, Tennessee, this 3100 spent most of its life as a solid Arizona worker. In what amounted to a systematic, no-expense-spared rebuild, the truck's rust-free body was completely stripped, thoroughly massaged and layered in a liquid-smooth coat of Jet Black 2-stage. Traditional touches, like shaved fenders and a nosed hood, were complemented with shaved wipers, a smoothed cowl, shaved mirrors and polished LED taillights. A gorgeous burled wood bed was affixed using highly polished stainless hardware. And, for good measure, Legens even smoothed the truck's mirrored bumpers. Today, this incredible half-ton is a unique combination of time, talent and exceptional attention to detail. And with its killer paint, hot small block and stylish interior, it's the kind of top-notch street rod that's guaranteed to make you weak in the knees! ENGINE Toss the truck's domed hood and you'll find a hot LS3 crate engine that, thanks to the skilled techs at Street & Performance, makes a solid 480 horsepower! GM Powertrain invested a great deal of time and research into getting the most out of its Gen IV small block, and it definitely shows. Changes started with a 20% stronger casting, featuring an increased bore of 103.25mm. Focus was then shifted to flow efficiency, resulting in the use of rectangle-port heads and an all-new intake manifold. Factor in a new piston design, and injectors borrowed from the brutal LS7, and you get a very potent track weapon that happily doubles as an everyday commuter. At the top of the block, a black, chrome-trimmed air cleaner funnels wind in to a factory throttle body, which is bolted to a standard composite intake. At the sides of that intake, ceramic-coated headers hover under high quality Taylor plug wires. In front of those headers, a Billet Specialties Tru Trac system spins a plethora of Jet Black ancillaries. In front of that system, a body-matched radiator swirls coolant around a big electric puller fan. An American Autowire wiring harness ensures everything communicates well. And details, like braided fluid lines, Chevrolet-branded fuel rail covers, billet hood supports and a body-matched power steering reservoir, ensure the engine looks every bit as good as it runs. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Shimmy under this Chevy and you'll find a super clean undercarriage that's been prepped, primped and polished to match the truck's slick engine bay and stunning exterior. The subdued LS3 twists a Street & Performance 4L60E 4-speed, which is hooked to a painted Ford 9-inch that's fitted with 31-spline axles and big, 4.11 gears. That proven pumpkin pushes a C-notched parallel 4-link, which features high quality QA1 coil-over-shocks. Tracking is provided by a Mustang II front clip, which is complete with drop spindles, two more quality QA1 coil-overs and power rack-and-pinion steering. And that chassis hangs from a fully boxed Street Rod Garage frame. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to 4 and 6-piston Wilwood calipers, which utilize an 8-inch booster to squeeze 13-inch drilled and slotted rotors. At the center of the floor, a custom, 3-inch exhaust system routes spent gases through an X-shaped crossover. At the corners of the floor, stylish Billet Specialties Stilettos throw torque through 235/40ZR18 and 275/40ZR20 Toyo Proxes4s. And everything, from the truck's braided fluid lines to its painted stainless fuel tank, is well planned, exceptionally executed and ready to reflect! INTERIOR But the show doesn't stop there. Not by a long shot! When you pop this pickup's doors, you'll find a detail-oriented cockpit with charmingly retro surfaces that were installed by Paul Atkins Interiors of Hanceville, Alabama. Top dead center, a matte dash hangs clean Classic Instruments gauges above hidden controls for modern air conditioning. In front of that dash, an angled seat, which straddles chrome power window switches, aligns perfectly with custom-sculpted door skins. Speaking of those skins, they found traditional handles over custom, AC-piped kick panels. Beneath those panels, fresh carpet highlights billet foot pedals. Opposite that carpet, a custom headliner rides between a classy rearview mirror, a functional dome lamp and custom cab skins. And in front of the driver, a tilting Flaming River steering column spins a shrunken wheel around an elegant shifter. Those are the totals, IN HOURS, that our last three 1967 Chevrolet Corvette pro-touring cars sat on our RK Motors Charlotte showroom floor. And for good reason: they're some of the meanest, most exclusive and most enjoyable muscle cars on the planet! This 1967 pro-touring roadster is a top notch, no compromises C2 that will unquestionably draw a crowd wherever it goes. Despite its exceptionally well done modifications, which include a modern 521 horsepower V8, a strip ready driveline and a massaged fiberglass body, none of the pure, basic goodness of its beloved design has been compromised. And best of all, that fresh technology provides an athleticism and performance envelope that will embarrass pretty much anything on the road. If you're one of those enthusiasts who enjoys being at the pinnacle of style, the top of the leader board and the front of the car show, this world class pro-tourer is the car you've been dreaming of! This slick C2 Sting Ray's body is a never-been-hit '67 and, as you can tell, the very talented craftsmen at Corvette Restorations AZ treated it to a lot of time and some amazing fiberglass work. Even 45 years after it was launched, Larry Shinoda's brilliant design still speaks for itself. And the car's only noteworthy modifications include a couple of bolt-ons that combine both form and function to create a more aggressive front clip, and massaged fenders which perfectly frame its massive wheels and tires. Unlike most concours restored Vettes, this Sting Ray features exceptional fit and finish which, with the car's bright paint, is definitely a design statement. And speaking of bright paint, the car's sinuous form has been bathed in a vivid coat of Enzo Ferrari Yellow urethane that shines just as bright as the day it left the spray booth. It may be true that there's no such thing as a perfect car; but this killer Corvette pro-tourer is about as close as you can get! The cool thing about a pro-touring Corvette is that you're taking an already aggressive design and adding a ton of race-bred technology which elevates the car's personality and performance to a whole new level. It's kind of like rebuilding the Incredible Hulk with components from the Terminator to create one mean, ass kicking machine; and this '67 Sting Ray definitely looks the part! At the front of the car, a body-width stainless grille sits inside of show worthy stainless trim which is bordered by two chrome trimmed parking lights, a razor blade style chrome bumper and a custom molded chin spoiler. Above that grille a 1967-exclusive stinger hood, which has been detailed with a gloss black stripe and fresh chrome trim, rides in front of like-new glass that is cleared by bright stainless wipers, framed by excellent looking stainless trim and capped by a black Al Knoch top. Below that glass flared front fenders hang correct 1967-exclusive heat extractors in front of pristine bowtie mirrors, correct chrome door handles, satin black rocker trim and custom black side pipes that are complete with stainless heat shields. Behind that glass, a full stainless roll bar is centered between super-wide flared rear fenders and a smooth rear decklid that is complete with both a body-matched fuel filler and a pristine "Corvette Sting Ray" emblem. And at the back of the car, two centered reverse lamps combine with four traditional Corvette tail lights to illuminate a chrome trimmed tag bracket and two more pristine, razor blade style bumpers. While the exterior of this awesome yellow roadster provides the kind of radical good looks you might find encased in velvet ropes on the show field, it's what lives underneath the car's functional stinger hood that separates the beauty queens from the road warriors. Professionally built by Arizona Speed and Marine in Phoenix, Arizona, this Sting Ray's 6.0 liter LS2 Generation IV V8 utilizes an aluminum block, a Competition camshaft and high performance heads that are equipped with severe duty push rods and titanium retainers to churn out a super car killing 521 horsepower! At the top of that engine, a custom fabricated cowl induction system funnels wind from a reusable filter element to a traditional LS2 high-flow intake manifold via a custom fabricated chrome air tube. Once that air is present and accounted for, a GM electronic fuel injection system jets dino blood through stainless fuel rails to high pressure fuel injectors, and GM factory coils shoot sparks into high performance MSD plug wires. The resultant high compression combustion is cooled by a Be Cool 700 horsepower Super Street aluminum radiator which sends water past two 11 inch puller fans and a polished overflow tank to fresh hoses and a body-matched water pump. And the subsequent spent gases are evacuated through a pair of custom fabricated long tube headers which flow straight into the car's custom fabricated side pipes. In front of the engine a modern serpentine system, which has been fully outfitted with chrome pulleys and chrome brackets, spins both a chrome alternator and polished AC compressor; and behind the engine, a straight, unaltered firewall hangs a factory wiper motor next to a modern brake booster and master cylinder. The hot small block wears body-matched fuel rail covers and a thick coat of body-matched high temp engine paint which looks much better than the black on silver color combo of factory fresh LS2s. And a full array of details such as polished stainless lines, high quality braided hoses, chrome hood hardware and even a chrome oil cap provide a finished appearance that most modern engines simply can't achieve. Throw this Corvette up on a lift and the first thing you'll notice is four bright yellow brake calipers that squeeze four equally impressive slotted brake rotors. The second thing you'll notice is a bright yellow scatter shield that's bolted to a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission. Those yellow calipers, which are four piston "Corvette" branded C5 units up front and four piston "Delco Moraine" branded C3 units out back, provide excellent stops and modern car cornering thanks to a heavy duty Hydroboost brake system. And that precise transmission sends all the small block's massive power from carbon fiber clutch packs to a new Fast-Corvette differential that's equipped with pebble crushing 3.70 gears. Of course, those brakes couldn't sufficiently corner without the car's modern power rack and pinion steering and fresh Bilstein shocks. And that rear end couldn't sufficiently hook up without the car's Vette Brakes and Products fiberglass transverse rear leaf spring and suspension kit. The car's satin black floor and frame are virtually spotless; and everything from its fresh stainless steel fuel tank to its monoleaf front suspension is fully finished, superbly restored and displays very little use. And all this top notch Corvette hardware rides on a spectacular set of 18 inch Foose Nitrous Thrust wheels which follow 245/40 front Falken Azenis performance radials with 275/35 rear Falken Azenis performance radials. Open this Corvette's lightweight fiberglass doors and you'll find an OEM-quality standard vinyl interior which has been tastefully updated with both stylish trim components and modern technology. At the center of the car firm bucket seats, which were completely rebuilt during the recent restoration, ride between a six-point roll bar that's bolted to the car's frame and like-new black carpet that's sandwiched between color-keyed Sting Ray floor mats and Dynamat Dynaliner sound deadening. In front of those seats stylish aircraft-inspired gauges, which now operate electronically, perfectly complement brushed metal panels on both the car's glove box and center console. At the sides of those seats, great looking stainless trimmed door panels hang chrome handles, chrome window cranks, and chrome lock knobs above perfectly placed plastic armrests. And between those seats, a waterfall dash interface begins at a continuous motion clock and cascades through controls for the car's Vintage Air climate system and MP3 compatible Custom Auto Sound head unit to the base of a fully functional chrome shifter and chrome switches for the car's power windows. In front of the driver, a flat bottom, three-spoke steering wheel spins on top of a polished tilt steering column that's complete with a full set of billet stalks. And behind the driver, a fully carpeted storage compartment displays absolutely no wear and tear at all. Included with the sale of this killer Corvette is a CD full of restoration photos, a stack of build receipts and a stack of component manuals.
