My buddy Joe G is unique in that he has an eye like nobody I know nor ever met. When I say he has an “eye” what I mean is he just knows what is what and how it should be. Some of his past cars and motorcycles have been featured in the finest magazines in the automotive world. He was one of the first guys to build a restomod Corvette back in 1990 on a 1962, using a Mustang II Front-end. When Joe went looking for a 67 Corvette Coupe two years ago he searched the country looking for “this” car. He was looking for an original Corvette that had something different. Once he found it and purchased it he brought it home and put his magic touch on it. Joe really enjoys the movie “King of the Mountain” with Dennis Hopper and Harry Hamlin street racing their high-powered cars up and down the dangerous and deadly mountain road known as Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills. Here’s a link to the final scene, where Cal (Hopper) in a 67 Hot Rod Corvette and Hamlin in a modified Porsche 356 race to one’s death. Hopper’s car is partially the inspiration for this unique ‘67 Coupe. Check out the fender flares and mirrors... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KynMbNsDCfY This Vette in person just has “IT”... I don’t really know how to describe “IT” in words, but I know it when I see it... so look at the pictures, I think you just might agree. Now, before all you NCRS guys go bye-bye on the flared fenders, just let me say this about these incomparable masterpieces of automotive art. Somewhere in the stash of Michelangelo’s Drawings is one of these fender flairs that he drew way back in 1525 when he was at the top of his game. Yes, indeed these are Renaissance flares; refined, tasteful and fully discrete. Seriously, these flares should have come with this car or at a very minimum been an option. And to say they are perfection is an absolute understatement. From every angle they look amazing, being exact mirror images from one fender to the other. These fenders make this car! And this car is cool. The 17” wheel and tire package as well as stance are impossible without the addition of these gorgeous flared fenders. Have you ever tried to put a set of 17” wheels and tires on a mid-year? You can’t or you will be blowing out fiberglass chunks the first time out the driveway. I should know, I’ve done it with far less than 17 inches. These flares were designed and integrated into the body by Roger Brunelle, the owner of Bruno’s Corvette Repair (Ventura Blvd in Studio City) back in the early 70s when Bruno was infamously known as the “guru of fiberglassing”. Bruno repaired and modified Corvettes for the Hollywood elite, people like Henry and Peter Fonda, Steve McQueen, Bruce Willis & Ryan O’Neil. Bruno studied fiberglass at Massachusetts Institute of Technology while still in the Marines in the 50’s. After he got out of the service he moved to Southern California and opened a shop specializing in Corvettes and fiberglass. Is there any doubt Dennis Hopper’s ’67 flares were put on over at Bruno’s before the filming of “King of the Mountain”. According to a 1993 LA Times Article “Bruno’s Corvette is known to Corvette enthusiasts worldwide and is probably the oldest Corvette oriented business in the world outside General Motors”. LA Times Link to Bruno’s Article: http://articles.latimes.com/1993-02-12/news/va-1314_1_corvette-repair These unique flares are a shining example of the California Racing Culture of the 60’s and 70‘s. These flares make this Corvette and if you like a Corvette with real style, a unique history and attitude you may have just found it. Check your “purist” hat at the door, study the lines on this car for a few minutes, and see if you don’t agree: this was the option that GM forgot... History... these flares are hot-rod Corvette History!! "The 1967 Corvette Coupe" - Considered by many to be the "penultimate in Corvette design and execution"; myself being one of those! It truly represented "the end of an era"; a five year run of the first true fixed roof coupe available within the Marque - and oh what a finale! By 1967, production and assembly of the Corvette had greatly improved - many of the notorious "anomalies" - leaks, squeaks, rattles, and inconsistent fit & finish issues had been quietly resolved. Refinements such as four wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, power windows, power steering/power brakes, transistor ignition, leather seating surfaces, tinted windows, and a choice between a rip-snorting array of 427 Big Block engines and a mild-to-wild complement of 327 Small Block power plants (all with "no worries" hydraulic lifters) allowed the discriminating buyer a vast array of "directions" with which to have his new Corvette appointed. Without further ado, allow me to introduce you to 1967 Corvette Coupe #5696… HISTORY The allure of "The California Car" here for your consideration: The original "Conditional Sales Contract" shows a date of January 7th, 1967 between a Manhattan Beach buyer, Ted Hemphill, for a Lynndale Blue Coupe, with the following "listed" options: "4sp, t/ws, P. Traction, 350HP" and a "Cash Price" of $5,042.64 - Selling Dealer was Baher Chevrolet of Manhattan Beach, CA. Also in place is the original Dealer "Inspection and Adjustment Schedule" dated 12/21/1966, showing "checks" for all systems, including "Air Conditioning Sight Glass". The original buyer was an employee of Hughes Aviation; an engineer, perhaps? It certainly seems so, given the wealth of records that he kept; most prominently, a leather bound "diary" of all repairs, mileage log, fuel and oil consumption at each mileage interval - EXACT fuel fill-ups, including the location of the filling station! On February 2nd, 1967 - less than one month into his ownership, he had the Dealership install a full factory Transistor Ignition system for $161.17. After this, the invoice trail is lost until 11/1978 (believed to be the 3rd owner) with a series of invoices to an owner in Southern California; the story told to me was that the 2nd owner was another employee of Hughes Aviation, and that this third owner was an Air Force Major, who barely had time to drive the car. The story is the Air Force Major had all his work done by the mechanics on the base. My Father was an Air Force Colonel stationed at Andrew’s AFB for over 25 years, running the Detachment 1 Air National Guard. My first VW was completed painted by “his guys” for a case of Budweiser. His 63 and 69 Corvettes were completely maintained and rebuilt by the mechanics in his shop. They were the best. So it makes sense that there is little paper trail from that period of this Corvette’s History. The very tasteful small fender flares were professionally added by Bruno’s sometime in the mid-70's by the Air Force Major. By the time of this owner's sale to the 4th owner in 07/1982, this '67 Coupe continued to remain in sunny Southern California - as I was told, this owner was a commercial airline pilot, Ron Tegler. Invoice dated 01/19/83 lists the car's mileage as 23,656; car continues to be serviced at Chevrolet Dealerships in Southern California… In about April of 1983, it appears that our fourth owner, Ron Tegler, moved himself and this car to Illinois; as we all know, by this time, "early Corvettes" had achieved a certain cult status and were certainly well-cared for, protected from the elements, and rarely if ever driven in same. This owner switched his repair alliances to an independent shop by the name of "Lamb's Automotive" in Prairie View, IL; an invoice dated 05/11/83 with 24598 and an invoice dated 08/17/84 lists the mileage as 27104. Another invoice from Lamb's dated 09/27/1989 - Mileage: 33,219. Tegler kept the car until 2000 and do much of the restoration. As an aside, a review of the invoices attributed to this owner shows that in the early 90's, it received a fairly extensive "freshening up"; although there are no invoices to support this, the story that I got from the 5th owner is that at this point the engine was rebuilt (bored .30 over), the body was painted the original Lynndale Blue, the transmission was rebuilt, and the original 3.55 rear end was rebuilt and upgraded to 3.70 gearing. Another Lamb's invoice - June 1st, 1994 - Mileage: 36,870. September 13, 1995 - Mileage: 38,586. September 5th, 1996 - Mileage: 39,044. July 24, 1997 - Mileage: 39,477. August 12, 1998 - Mileage: 40,392. August 30, 2000 - Mileage: 42,535. In the Fall of 2000, the 5th owner bought the car; this is the gentleman that I bought it from. Mileage on August 9th, 2002 is listed at 44,254. Owner shows living in Illinois as well, with a subsequent move to Michigan. Invoice dated August 24, 2006 - Mileage: 46,541. Invoice dated April 25, 2008 - Mileage: 47,062. Invoice dated July 24, 2009 - Mileage: 47,734. Condition Today This leads us to the current owner, Joe G., who "brought the car back to Southern California" via enclosed transport after an on-site visit/test drive in March 2013. Joe fully "embraced" the exquisite fender flares (the option that GM forgot, in my opinion), and continued forward with his vision of this coupe as a "70's road race-inspired Corvette". Joe added a Borgeson power steering conversion (MUCH better than the stock power steering, in my opinion), 17X7" wheels and tires to fill up those fine flared fenders, a 15" Freeman Design Teak steering wheel, a Quick Fuel 600cfm mechanical secondary's carburetor with "Coolman" heat shield, polished Corvette valve covers, and the "coup de grace" - a matching pair of extremely rare 70's Hella adjustable side view mirrors which he had custom-fitted with convex glass on both sides. A razor sharp professional tune-up, which included blocking off the manifold heat crossover tube with new gaskets, now makes for both easy cold starting and hot weather restarting with the modern "poor quality" fuels. This IS the original numbers-matching 327/350 engine (considered by many to be the best small block GM ever built). See the pictures of the engine stamp and it is clearly the original stamp from the factory, with broach marks intact. The original numbers matching 4 speed transmission shifts perfectly with no shifter rattle. Numbers matching, date coded correct heads. Numbers matching (but upgraded to 3.70 gearing) Positraction rear end, original factory air-conditioned car (factory compressor and brackets removed but included with purchase), original factory power windows, tinted glass, dealer-added Transistor Ignition, single repaint of factory original Lynndale Blue. The carburetor is a correct style Holley from the era, but not likely the original carb that came from the factory. The seats were upgraded to leather seating surfaces (a common upgrade), no cracks to dash pads, headlights operate perfectly, car "tracks" perfectly at freeway speeds, accelerating and decelerating, brakes pull down straight & true, car runs cool even on 100 degree days. The original fiberglass fan shroud was replaced with a metal shroud when the radiator was replaced due to cracking. Dash lights have been upgraded to LED's, rear cargo "hatches" have been upgraded to very usable twist-lock doors (original cargo board included); sale includes ALL documentation/receipts, a 40% tank sticker (which is regrettably unreadable), set of original 1967 Chassis Overhaul and Service Manuals, and boxes of parts, INCLUDING a set of four original GM "stock" fender pieces - many of you will remember these being offered by GM sometime in the 80's to "remove" added fender flares or to replace busted out fenders. Joe, like the previous owners, just could not bear to remove Bruno’s fine fender flares; the new owner can do so now, or at a later date if he/she desires. The Body on this gem is near perfection, having zero evidence of ever being even bumped in a parking lot. Pictures were taken of all shut lines and close-ups of head light buckets prove this point. The Front Bumpers are PERFECTLY aligned. So many mid-years are “wonky” as Joe puts it. The headlight buckets are rounded in the corners, just like they should be from the factory. We have been all over this body and it is as straight as any we have ever seen. The Clock, all Gauges (and little lights), all the lights and turn signals and the radio works. The paint is over 20 years old but is absolutely gorgeous with the exception of one blemish right behind the driver’s door (see close-up picture just after the wheel pictures in the line-up). When the car was color sanded someone got a little too aggressive and lightly burned a spot. In the daylight you can barely see it. The paint condition surely validates the mileage (along with the records) and the fact that this Corvette sat in a garage for most of its life, protected from the elements. Lynndale Blue is an amazing color, but taking pictures can be tricky depending on the light. In the shade it has more of a gray tint and in direct sunlight it looks more like Nassau or Marina Blue. I tried to take pictures in both lighting conditions to show the difference. There are many spare parts that come with the car, a Holley 4-barrel, the original valve covers, original (manual) steering box and master cylinder, original spare tire, 5 extra (repro) Rally Wheels, Orig Shielding, Jack, original suspension bushings (2003), original AC unit, etc. See photos of additional parts that accompany the car. Also, all the original documentation and work receipts, original owners manual and service manuals come with the car. Not all the pictures of the parts and documentation are in the ad, but you can find all of the pictures on PhotoBucket link here: http://s669.photobucket.com/user/fmattingly/library/Corvette%201967%20Ganzler I have personally owned over 30 Corvettes in my life and this one ranks right up there with probably the coolest one I have ever seen. It has been sorted by the Master... Joe G. It runs and drives like a 49K mile Corvette should and better, thanks to Joe’s unique ‘eye’ & touch. Listen, we have nothing against trailer queen, NCRS type cars. We truly enjoy them and appreciate them, but if you are looking for a car to drive and drive and drive, with fun factor galore and a unique character, then this is a car you should seriously consider. Understated edge and a pinch of restrained attitude ... “The King of the Mountain”. The car is available to be seen anytime during this auction in San Clemente, CA. Feel free to call me at 949-310-6262 from 7AM to 11PM seven days a week. Joe’s number is also available for serious buyers. I have shipped over 50 cars overseas and can help arrange transport to anywhere in the world.

1973 BUICK APOLLO SUPER STREET MACHINE. ACCUMULATED WORK, OVER SIX YEARS TO BUILD. OVER 2,000 MAN HOURS OF LABOR. FULLY DOCUMENTED WITH THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN RECEIPTS AND NUMEROUS RESTORATION PHOTOS. COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED DOWN TO THE BODY SHELL AND REBUILT. 78,714 ORIGINAL MILES. LESS THAN TWO MILES SINCE COMPLETION! AS AN ADDED BONUS, AN ENTIRE FOLDER OF DOCUMENTATION, INCLUDING FACTORY BUILD SHEET, DEALER INVOICE, WARRANTY PAMPHLET, AND OWNER’S MANUAL. YOU CAN OWN THIS ONE OF A KIND, “FAST AND WILD”, BUICK STREET SCREAMER FOR A FRACTION OF THE BUILD COST. WATCH THIS VIDEO OF THIS HOT BUICK WE HAD ALMOST TEN YEARS AGO. THE ONE WE HAVE FOR SALE TODAY BLOWS THAT ONE AWAY. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8d2PEwjeMu8 This is truly a rare opportunity. Seldom do you see a vehicle of this caliber and quality for sale, with absolutely no mystery or unanswered questions. All historical provenance is included to reveal the vehicle origins when it was sold new. Volumes of receipts and photos clearly showcase the hours of labor, plus all components and upgrades utilized in the rebuild and restoration. Remember that the Apollo is based on the same X platform as the Chevrolet Nova, one of the most iconic muscle cars and drag cars of the era. The Apollo is basically a Nova with different front and rear appointments, and nicer interior options. Factor in the rarity of this model, only 14,475 units manufactured, and unlike the Nova, most were victims of attrition. An absolute win-win situation. Selling at a fraction of the build cost. Open the door, buckle up, turn the key, and go. No issues, no stories, no warnings, it is all there, right in front of you. This super Street Machine is an attention getter, a head turner, and above all, a ground pounder that is a thrill to drive. Please read the ad, view all the photos, and click on the videos. When you have finished, you will know the complete history of this Apollo. The Buick Apollo was a short lived model, only offered in 1973 and 1974. The Apollo was Buick’s first ever compact car. The vehicle was a very close cousin to the extremely popular Chevrolet Nova, another member of the GM X body stable. The Oldsmobile Omega and Pontiac Ventura were the remaining two models in this GM stable. Base engine was a Chevrolet 250 Cu. In. six cylinder, but the Buick 350 Cu. In. V8 was also offered as an option. In 1974, Buick even offered a sport oriented GSX model. In 1975, the Apollo was replaced by an all new Skylark. Of the four X body models, the Apollo was the most well appointed. After all, next to Cadillac, Buick was the top of the line brand. Therefore, less of these were transformed into Street Machines and drag cars. It is truly a special find when one becomes available. In. eight cylinder engine from a 1975 Pontiac Trans Am. 1975 6X heads, 2.11/1.66 valves, ported and polished. Holley 750 Demon carburetor mounted on an Edelbrock Air Gap aluminum intake manifold. Hydraulic roller cam and valve train. Deco Remy electronic ignition. Electric fuel pump. Hooker Super Comp headers connected to Walker free flow exhaust. Thermostatically controlled cooling fan. 100 amp alternator. Vintage Old School rebuilt Turbo 375 transmission with stall converter. The Turbo 375 was a transmission used by GM in the “70’s, basically a Turbo 400 with less clutches. Ford 9” rear differential with Richmond 4.11 gears and full spool. Moroso Trick Springs in the front for maximum weight transfer. Heavy duty leaf springs in the back, with extended shackles that provide the nostalgic “California Rake”, the nose down, rear up drive height wildly popular in the ’60’s and ’70’s. Rear air shocks. Lakewood adjustable traction bars. Frame ties. Four wheel disc brakes with adjustable proportioning valve. Front tubular A arms with greasable polyurethane bushings. Undercarriage is clean and nicely detailed in black. You can drive this car without spending hours cleaning the undercarriage when you are done. Still nice enough to take it to a car show. Remember, this beauty only has two miles since the restoration. This car needs to be driven to break it in and shake it down. Keep in mind that you may have to perform some minor adjustments after some long distance driving, such as retorquing header bolts, checking miscellaneous nuts and bolts, etc. This is just common sense maintenance. Trunk has been stripped and resplattered, with new sealer in the seams. Fuel cell and battery located in the trunk. Master cutoff switch professionally installed, not just hacked in. New white vinyl bench seat interior. As with many old school hot rods, interior is primarily in stock configuration, with the addition of some upgrades and gauges. Hurst Quarter Stick shifter. Grant spoked steering wheel. Sun Pro Super Tach mounted on steering column. and Equus water temperature and oil pressure gauges mounted under the dash. Complete new interior. New seat vinyl, as well as door panels. New headliner and package shelf. The original dash pad is still in the car. It is in good shape, with one crack. Carpet is also new. Receipt for new interior included in the documents. As stated previously, all seals and weatherstripping are new. This Street Machine will provide years of thrills and satisfaction to the new owner. Finding a restoration/rebuild this complete and fresh at this price point is almost impossible. Included in this deal are all original documents, receipts, and a large group of restoration photos. Will consider trades up or down. Don’t hesitate on this great opportunity. Absolute multi purpose Street Machine- You are able to cruise, show, race, or just drive and enjoy this Classic.
