This ’96 Impala SS was the closing year of the Impala Super Sport and it was the sole model having analog gauges rather than digital and a floor-mounted shifter in the center console linked to refined 4-speed automatic transmission. This example of a ‘96 Impala is super clean. It runs and drives great. It is fully loaded with no known issues. The only items replaced have been a seal on the cable going into the transmission and the windshield washer pump – both were replaced using NOS parts. Note on the tires: they are believed to be original, so they may need replacing although the car is currently driveable with them on. Title is reconstructed this car still runs and drives but I believe it may be low on transmission fluid or may need a transmission soon it started slipping on me it has a slight leak. You are looking at a 1964 Impala SS, this is a real Super Sport. I am selling this car for my younger brother who can no longer drive. My brother is a brain cancer survivor & it breaks his heart to sell this car. My brother has owned this car for over twenty five years. The Impala is an original Calif. car & still has it's black plates. The car is a pearl white with black interior. I have not seen the car in over ten years but will do my best to describe it. The car is powered by a rebuilt 350 from a 1976 Monte Carlo it has an automatic transmission with power steering. There is an aftermarket stereo cassette in the dash. This car has not ran for about ten years, was running well & driving well when parked. The body will need work as the passenger fender has bondo that is cracked as well as an area on the lower right quarter panel. There may be a few other minor dings ect. There is no rot, just a little top rust from sitting. The car has been covered & will come with the cover. The interior still looks to be nice with a clean dash. I believe the car will run with very little work, clean the gas tank & check the brakes. I am told the keys are missing, the ignition switch is easily replaced. The car is located in American Canyon Calif. which is just a few miles from Napa Calif. You will be responsible for picking up the car, and all costs associated with the shipping. The car is currently stored at a storage facility & will need to be picked up during normal business hours. Up for sale here is a very nice rare 1962 Impala Factory 4-speed car. If you want to do a car that doesn't need a lot of bodywork than this is for you. The old paint needs to be stripped off. The fenders are spotless, the doors have no rot on the seams or corners. The floor and rockers also are in great shape. The car has all original SS trim and grab bar. I also believe all the glass and stainless is the original. Not perfect but very nice. The interior has the original front buckets and rear seat. The rear seat is a bit sun blistered on the top. Sun visors are new. The headliner and carpet are in very presentable. The engine is a low miles small block. Very strong. The last owner put thousands into the mechanics of this car. Flow master exhaust system. Brakes are original drum. The trans is original Saginaw. Fresh clutch when he did the motor. I have hardly used the car for over 10 years. It needs the bottom of the trunk pan replaced. The part is just aver $100. I removed the gas tank ti have the pan fixed but never bought the pan. I can reinstall the tank if you prefer. It drives very well. If you prefer stock rims I can swap the Keystones out for you. It has a later 4-speed consol in it also. I have been collecting old cars for decades and it is time to try and let a couple dozen go. I come from the East coast and don't have rusted cars. Please call if serious. 1965 Chevy Impala Super Sport Matching Numbers. V.I.N. 16637Fxxxxx3, Engine F0706GF, Trans. C0701D, Axle DB701C, Trim 815, 06D (4th week of June), Protect-O Plate, Dealer Stamp and Original owner's manual. The car is code RR Regal Red with a 815 Black interior. Drive train is a 283/powerglide. Power steering, single circuit manual drum brakes, heater, wipers and after market AM/FM radio. All equipment works nicely. All glass is very good to excellent condition. Chrome is good to excellent. Trim "callouts" are good originals. The paint is very good to excellent. A little orange peel here and there. The paint is representative of a car from the era. Shiny but not mirror. I'm not a paint expert but believe you could sand it out if you wanted to. The engine has some "day 2" upgrades. A weiland intake, Carter carburetor and open air element were added. The previous owner installed glass packs but I have installed a nice set of flowmasters recently. The wheels retain their 14 inch size but are American Racing with Firestone Firehawk tires. The interior is original and beautiful. The engine bay was cleaned and painted and includes a repro. radiator tag and "Opti-Clean" bottle for shows. The previous owner left the trunk in "as is" condition. The rest of the car was just too nice to have an old trunk. I installed a new floor pan and cleaned the rest. Where there was factory spatter paint I kept it for originality. I also installed a new fuel tank, sending unit, straps, anti squeak, shocks and brakes. To the best of my ability, I left as much original on the car as there was. The car runs great. Starts instantly when cold and drives, steers and stops as a mid 60's car should. This is a very comfortable ride. This is my first Impala but won't be my last. I really like the fast back look. I have several other cars. Two of which are also numbers matching. One is Totally original. Need to make some room. I enjoy the the original/numbers cars a lot. I think whoever gets this one is going to enjoy it too. I'm always improving my cars and am looking for a correct jack for this one as well as a spare. When you pick it up maybe I'll have these items as well. I would like to emphasize I am a car guy not a dealer. I like to buy them, drive them, fix them and unfortunately due to space and money have to sell one occasionally to keep the addiction fed. As mentioned earlier in the ad, all the documentation is in the photo section of the ad. These documents and imprints go to the new owner and are available for inspection.
