It was the ride your upper class neighbors enjoyed and, like the original Bel Air, it wholly embodied the time of its creation. With that in mind, the restoration of this awesome, third generation convertible involved a frame-off mix of nostalgia and convenience that created a better-than-new cruiser. Amenities like a correct 409 and smooth Powerglide 2-speed make this the perfect car for fun drives while classic lines, a correct interior and miles of Silver Blue paint are sure to keep collectors happy. If you're looking for a spectacular classic that's road ready, show ready, and just plain ready to go, this brazen bowtie is a whole lot of metal for not a lot of money! BODYWORK/TRIM Awarded 985 out of 1,000 points on its way to claiming Trailered Modified First Place at the 2006 Eckler's Classic Chevy Show in Kissimmee, Florida, this top-of-the-line drop-top displays immaculate bodywork that simply glistens. A lot of time and effort was put in to making sure the car's profile was extremely straight, which resulted in chiseled sheetmetal that's completely wave-free. That time was well spent, as better-than-factory fit perfectly centers hinged pieces that move freely and close with a solid thunk. And those thunks are bathed in a rich layer of Silver Blue basecoat that's been sealed in durable clear and buffed to a spectacular shine. Chevrolet's third generation Impala is a stylish piece that, with its absence of excessive chrome, suggests GM had officially left the tailfin-induced bender America enjoyed throughout the '50s. At the front of this sleek showboat, a broad stainless grille hangs four halogen headlights and small amber parking lamps between an ornate Chevrolet crest, a blocky "CHEVROLET" script and a mirrored, wraparound bumper. At the top of that grille, subtle hood spears lead the eye to tinted glass that's cleared by bright wipers, sealed in straight frames a capped with a power-operated roof. At the sides of that hood, dent-free rocker guards, optional fender skirts and engine-turned, SS-specific trim spears found bold "IMPALA" scripts beneath traditional cross-flag emblems and "SS" quarter badging. Opposite those guards, correct door handles and classy bowtie mirrors perfectly complement optional edge liners, ornate fuel filler trim and angled antennas. And at the back of the car, a stainless-trimmed, engine-turned valence hangs six familiar taillights between a second Chevrolet crest, a small "CHEVROLET" script and a second wraparound bumper. ENGINE In the early days of America's horsepower wars, Chevy's stalwart 409 was arguably the go-to choice for most racers. There was simply nothing else on the road that could touch its street-ruling horsepower. And that made cars like this sculpted drop-top feared and equally revered. At the top of its "QC" branded mill, a polished, single-snorkel air cleaner forces oxygen in to a coated Edelbrock carburetor, which is fed through an old school AC fuel bowl and polished fluid lines. That proven 4-barrel tops a factory intake, which wedges a chrome oil filler between factory heads and polished and decaled valve covers. Those valves send spent gases in to correct, cast iron exhaust manifolds and a 2.5-inch, true-dual exhaust system that's characterized by a deep, vintage roar. That roar is the product of sparks sequenced through an MSD Blaster 2 coil, a familiar points distributor and trusted AC Delco Packard TV R Suppression cables. Those sparks are generated by pliable V-belts, which spin a polished alternator and leak-free power steering pump behind a factory radiator, a correct pulley fan and an electronic pusher fan. And this B-Body's entire engine compartment, from its Chevy Orange paint and Gloss Black fenders to its clean Delco battery and cool washer bottle, is nicely detailed and ready to show. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION One look under this sturdy cruiser reveals a solid X-frame chassis that's just as ready for the road as that legendary 409. Torque meets the pavement through a correct Powerglide 2-speed, which spins a factory rear end. Holding that virtually unbreakable drivetrain off the ground is a restored double A-arm front and 3-link rear suspension. That suspension's handling is greatly enhanced by modern power steering and power drum brakes. Exhaust flows from the aforementioned manifolds to quality Flowmaster mufflers and polished stainless tips. The body's rust-free floors are layered in thick undercoating, which was probably sprayed during the car's detailed restoration. And all that old school Americana rolls on 14-inch steelies, which spin 215/75 Dayton whitewalls around red-detailed, Super Sport-specific wheel covers. INTERIOR Covered in a monochromatic sheen, this Chevy's correct interior has been restored to factory-fresh condition in virtually every way. The SS-specific front bucket and rear bench seats feel newer than the car's 52 years would suggest, and present just as well now as the day they rolled out of the upholstery shop. At the base of those seats, color-keyed floor mats protect like-new carpet. At the sides of those mats, pleated panels hang correct door hardware and small power window switches inside an array of crisp speakers. At the front of those panels, a padded dash, which is dressed in rebuilt telemetry, centers a correct Delco radio above Datcon accessory gauges and an optional tissue box that hides a modern Pioneer CD player. At the base of that dash, a stylish, SS-specific console centers a chrome shifter in front of a small, lockable storage compartment. In front of the driver, a chrome-trimmed steering wheel laps a column-mounted tachometer. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk seals a correct mat, a correct jack and a full-sized spare tire below correct insulation and a fresh decklid decal. This 1963 Super Sport has got a mean look, aggressive muscle, and the right chrome to be the perfect classic cruiser. Impala coupes are highly collectable because the wide chrome grille up front, and the broad six taillight arrangement are both icons of the 60s. These cars are not as chrome heavy as other full-size coupes that had come before them, which makes each piece of brightwork an appreciated styling touch. It's especially true on this car where the chrome bumpers and SS badging are nice standouts against the deep black paintwork. In fact, this coupe does double dark duty with the optional black vinyl roof. The final piece to catch the eye is a set of 15-inch Rally wheels a hallmark to a true SS. Impalas are great coupes to collect because they have the cool pillar-less hardtop style that make them an instant classic, and at the same time, these full-size Chevys comfortably fit plenty of friends. There are two important components that make the SS package on the 1963 Impala. They must have the machined aluminum on the dash panel, and the bucket seats show a stylized button pattern. Real Impala SS enthusiasts will also be glad to see the proper sport badge on this car's horn button. In fact, this car has a lot of original pieces, from the black vinyl seats, to the heater/defrost, to the optional tachometer. You even get the original owner's manual! There are a few helpful upgrades such as a full aftermarket gauge package nicely mounted in a chrome frame below the dash. The feeling of a hardtop coupe is a wonderful thing. You can roll down all the windows, which gives you that big open space without a b-pillar. It's a place where the wind flows through your hair like a convertible, and in a big muscle car like this, the dual exhaust gets to be your best soundtrack. Underneath the hood is a 350 cubic-inch small block V8. Those who are familiar with the many motors available in the 1963 SS package know that the 350 was not one of them, but this powerplant is an upgrade from original. A fresh crate motor was installed only about 200 miles ago. This comes with the dyno sheets (at 387 rear wheel HP) to prove it has been tuned to compete with just about everything else out there on the streets. So this coupe is more powerful, and reliable than those Impalas that have had the same motor for 50+ years. The new V8 also included an upgrade to the GM TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. When it's time to impress at the car show, the engine bay won't disappoint. It grabs attention with some nice chrome touches, modern Chevrolet performance valve covers, and plenty of cool vintage components like the factory-installed windshield washer glass bottle. This coupe has the perfect mix of originality with a few subtle upgrades (the included restoration receipts have all the details.) It's a power steering car, which makes this the perfect reliable cruiser that's just waiting for you. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS Frame Off Restored Satin Silver Impala Super Sport 327 V8 M21 4 Speed PS PB Year: 1963 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Silver Mileage: 15727 Transmission type: 4 Speed Manual Engine: 327 V8 Interior color: Red Vehicle Info A vast majority of the metal that comes through our RK Motors Charlotte showroom is either flawless, concours-level show fare or incredibly original, low-mileage garage fodder. But, as awesome as those rare and exclusive cars are, the foundation of this hobby has always been old school stalwarts that we can drive, build on, show off and enjoy. Think about it, when you were a kid, did you dream of towing a pristine factory-original car to a field where it would sit and look pretty? No way! You wanted a classy head turner that was striking, cool and expressed your individual tastes. Professionally restored and powered by an era-correct Chevrolet V8, this impressive Impala SS is the kind of fully sorted cruiser that you can fire up, press the go pedal and road trip across the country in! Logging only weekend miles since its complete, frame-off restoration, this top-of-the-line, Los Angeles produced Chevy displays immaculate bodywork that simply glistens under our bright showroom lighting. A lot of time and effort was put into making sure the car's profile was extremely straight, which resulted in chiseled sheetmetal that's completely wave-free. That time was well spent, as better-than-factory fit perfectly centers hinged pieces which move freely and close with a solid thunk. And those thunks are bathed in a rich layer of correct Satin Silver basecoat that's been sealed in a durable clearcoat and buffed to a spectacular shine. Chevrolet's third generation Impala is a stylish piece that, with its absence of excessive chrome, suggests GM had officially left the tailfin-induced bender America enjoyed throughout the 50s. At the front of this sleek showboat, a broad stainless grille hangs four halogen headlights and small amber parking lamps between an ornate Chevrolet crest, a blocky "CHEVROLET" script and a wraparound chrome bumper. At the sides of that grille, traditional cross-flag emblems combine with an angled antenna and "SS" quarter scripts to break up a sea of metallic paint, while traditional door handles perfectly complement a classy bowtie mirror and engine-turned, SS-specific rocker trim. At the top of the car, subtle hood spears lead the eye to like-new glass that's cleared by bright stainless wipers, sealed in well-maintained frames a capped by lust worthy 'convertible roof' styling. And at the back of the car, a stainless-trimmed and engine-turned valence hangs six familiar tail lights between a second Chevrolet crest, a small "CHEVROLET" script and a second wraparound bumper. Powering this real deal Super Sport is a correct, 327 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 that hangs a traditional 3782870 casting number opposite a January (A) 16th (16), 1963 (63) casting date. At the top of the famous mill, a heavy duty, single-snorkel air cleaner funnels oxygen into a large Rochester carburetor that's centered between spotless stainless fuel lines and a bright white throttle spring. Fuel and air flow from that old school carburetor into a cast iron intake that's framed by factory Chevy heads and correctly decaled valve covers. Those heads force spent gases into correct, cast iron exhaust manifolds which, thanks to 2.5-inch, true-dual pipes, create a deep and sinister roar. That roar is the product of sparks sequenced from a familiar points distributor to fresh Packard Radio TVRS wires. Those sparks are generated by pliable V-belts, which spin a modern alternator and factory power steering behind a shrouded fan, "GM" branded hoses and a factory-correct radiator. And this B-Body's entire engine compartment, from its Chevy Orange paint and convincing Delco battery topper to its Satin Black fenders and glass GM washer fluid bottle, is decaled, detailed and ready to show and go. One look under this sturdy cruiser reveals a solid X-frame chassis that's just as ready for the road as that stout 327. Power flows to the pavement through an era-correct Muncie, which hangs a familiar 3831704 casting number in front of an open rear end and 3.50 gears. Holding that virtually unbreakable drivetrain off the ground is a restored double A-arm front and 3-link rear suspension. That suspension's handling is greatly enhanced by factory power steering and power drum brakes. Exhaust flows from the aforementioned pipes to big, factory replacement mufflers and well-hidden turn downs. The body's rust-free floors are layered in bright red oxide, which was bestowed during their detailed restoration. The car's rugged chassis and fully sorted driveline still display a full roster of accurately duplicated inspection marks. And all this old school Americana rolls on 14-inch steelies which spin 8.00-14 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls around red-trimmed, Super Sport-specific wheel covers. Decked in a contrasting red sheen, this Impala's great looking interior has been restored to factory-fresh condition in virtually every way. The SS-specific front bucket and rear bench seats feel newer than the car's 50 years suggest, presenting just as well now as the day they rolled out of the upholstery shop. In front of those seats, a restored red dash is chock full of rebuilt gauges, hangs a correct Delco radio over a modern Auto Meter accessory pod, and features a sharp and correctly centered tachometer. At the base of that dash, a stylish, SS-specific console props a chrome Hurst shifter in from of a small, lockable storage compartment. At the base of that console, like-new carpet, which displays hardly any wear at all, anchors big rubber floor mats next to straight Fisher sill plates. At the sides of that carpet, quilted door panels hang small power window switches between chrome vent cranks, stylized door handles and pliable red armrests. Above those panels, a tight white headliner stretches from the car's chrome A-pillars to its bright C-pillars. In front of the driver, a chrome-trimmed steering wheel spins a small horn ring around a classy Impala insignia. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk carries correct mats, a correct jack and a full-size spare tire. The sale of this chic Chevy includes a vintage owner's manual. Fully sorted and ready to roll, this awesome Super Sport is a wonderful classic to drive, enjoy and haul two or three of your coolest friends in. It's really no surprise that these cars are amazingly popular with almost everyone who sees them, because they have such a great combination of style, presence and performance. So, what are you waiting for? Pick up the phone, score the keys to this '63 hardtop, and get ready for years of care-free cruising! This is exactly why we created the RKM Performance Center. Being proud members of SEMA, ARMO, HRIA and the North Carolina Motorsports Association, the RKM Performance Center is a nationally recognized shop; best known for high level OEM restorations and custom builds. That being said, sharp sheetmetal paled in comparison to the car's most significant upgrade: the legendary L79 option. As intentionally nondescript as the Super Sport trim it accompanied, L79 netted the car's lucky new owner a 327 cubic inch, 350 horsepower small block that was cribbed directly from the Corvette. That mill was certainly a hit, as a little over 5,400 of the red-hot bowties were ordered. But, unfortunately, most were purchased strictly for the quarter mile, which means, thanks to the law of attrition, finding an authentic L79 Nova is becoming increasingly difficult. Well, as you know, your friends at RK Motors Charlotte take pride in specializing in rare and hard to find classics. And that's why we're proud to feature this fully documented, registry-listed L79 Nova. Wrapping a numbers-matching drivetrain in correct Marina Blue on Black aesthetics, this highly original wonder transforms the phrase "investment grade compact" from oxymoron into fact! BODYWORK/TRIM The beneficiary of a partial restoration that was conducted in the mid '90s, this Nova is a sharp weekend cruiser that currently presents much better than original factory fodder. During the car's precise reboot, solid sheetmetal was completely striped of its dull, original pigment. With that shell removed, and its foundation massaged into great alignment, correct Marina Blue base was sealed in mirror-like clear. And today, one close look at our high-resolution pictures reveals a handsome payoff in the form of one slick Chevrolet muscle car! The subdued and classy lines of the prototypical Nova are early '60s conservative. And because they're so universal in appeal, they've continued to gain significant popularity. At the front of this hardtop, a correct, black-trimmed grille hangs a classy "CHEVY II SS" badge between a mirrored bumper, clear parking lamps and bright, stainless-trimmed headlights. Above that grille, a finned hood anchors a simple Chevrolet crest in front of clean glass, polished wipers and straight stainless frames. At the sides of that hood, a clean, modernist profile centers small fender emblems and traditional door handles between straight wheel trim, a familiar bowtie mirror and correct Super Sport rocker guards. And at the back of the car, correct Super Sport trunk trim hangs red-detailed badging between vertical tail lamps and a second mirrored bumper. ENGINE Even if you forget everything else we tell you about this Chevy II, be sure to pay VERY close attention to what's under the car's hood. Motivating this real-deal Super Sport is a 1966-exclusive L79 V8 that, according to the factory, twists stout 11 to 1 compression into 350 Corvette-matching horsepower. Savvy collectors will quickly locate the original 327's correct 3791362 casting number, correct "ZI" suffix stamp and matching partial VIN. Casual observers will be quick to notice the mill's L79-exclusive polished, twin-snorkel air cleaner. And everyone will start to vibe when air and fuel flow from a big Holley carburetor in to a hot Winters intake that's framed by high-flow cylinder heads! That air/fuel mixture meets spark thanks to Packard TV R Suppression Cables, which crawl around polished valve covers on their way to a correct points distributor. Spent gases fall in to old school cast iron exhaust manifolds. There's a tagged radiator that joins a rebuilt alternator, a rebuilt master cylinder and a reproduction Delco battery to round out the car's first-rate ancillaries. And, when it comes to keeping up appearances, the entire engine compartment, from its Chevy Orange block to its Satin Black fenders, is clean, attractive and ready to roll! DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION One look under this sturdy compact reveals a solid chassis that's just as ready for the road as that stout 327. Power flows through an original Muncie 4-speed, which hangs a Muncie (P) assembled on March (03) 18th (18) 1966 build stamp behind a correct 3885010 casting number. That transmission twists a correct 12-bolt axle. Holding that virtually unbreakable drivetrain off the ground is a restored double A-arm front and leaf spring rear suspension. Stops come courtesy of manual drum brakes. Exhaust flows from the aforementioned manifolds to modern, aluminized pipes, which precede DynoMax Super Turbo mufflers with an H-shaped crossover. The body's unrestored floors wear a thick layer of original undercoating. And all that old school Americana rolls on traditional Chevrolet Rallies, which spin F70-14 Firestone redlines around polished trim rings and low profile center caps. INTERIOR Regardless of what motor made its way in to the subframe, the Nova always stayed true to its simplistic roots. No place was that more evident than in the car's cockpit. Front and center, nicely restored thrones provide seating. A showroom-quality dash balances rebuilt gauges between a correct Delco pushbutton radio and an original, Maine-mandated 4-way flasher switch. Beneath that dash, a Corvette-style shifter rides a chrome-trimmed console, which floats on like-new carpet that's protected by color-keyed floor mats. At the sides of that carpet, classy door panels are, like the car's headliner and package tray, virtually devoid of weathering. In front of the driver, a wide steering wheel laps a polished, "CHEVY II" branded horn bar. And behind the passengers, a matted trunk hides a full-size spare tire beneath a decaled decklid. HISTORICAL INFORMATION A quick look at this Nova's VIN, cowl tag and Protect-O-Plate authenticates it status as a correct, real-deal L79 Super Sport. It is a true Super Sport (we have the original window sticker to prove it) and every inch shines from a painstaking amount of custom work. You can tell there's something special about this Malibu SS from as far off as across the show field. The original red color has been transformed into a beautiful electric blue. It shines nearly as bright as the Torq Thrust wheels. This drop-top has laser-straight lines thanks to its complete frame off restoration. Look at this car closely and you'll find that the workmanship is outstanding. Not merely nice, but good enough that people stop and remark about what a pretty car it is. Early Malibus have exceptionally clean lines and with a distinct lack of chrome and trim, it is particularly important that the bodywork be right. The details are crisp, especially the flared rear quarter panels that are the car's defining feature, as well as the crisply contoured hood that bears a familial resemblance to its big brother, the Impala. Chrome is excellent, and the bright details like the taillight surround and front grille have been beautifully restored. Someone invested big to make this car look this good. The interior is quite far from stock, but it keeps all the right original touches. The best place this can be understood is on the black vinyl interior. A true SS needs bucket seats. This one delivers with the same low-back proportions as all 1964 Malibu SS cars, but it has been upgraded with a more striking pattern that offers better bolstering for all-day comfort. The driver gets the classic shine of the Chevy wheel, but behind it is a new set of Dakota Digital VHX gauges. These have a cool nighttime blue glow that coordinates with the custom paint and the interior accent stripe. The original AM radio is still in place to keep the chrome of the dash intact, but your real tunes come from an AM/FM/CD changer unit stealthily mounted in the open space below the dash. Pop the hood and you'll find that the original 283 cubic-inch small block has been given a serious upgrade to a much younger and more powerful 350 V8. The two-speed powerglide automatic was also upgraded to a much more versatile three-speed unit. But for those who like the original powertrain, all of the numbers-matching components can be had in a separate deal with the owner. Personally, we enjoy the added power and usefulness of the upgrades already installed on this SS convertible. It makes for an intimidating symphony from the dual exhaust. Plus, the extra range of the new automatic matches well with the power steering and power brakes with a front disc upgrade. It gives this convertible the feeling that it can be an all-day cruiser. This is the kind of convertible you drive out of our showroom and take right to the car show. It is a great mix of a custom convertible with all the important original pieces intact and/or readily available. With quality and looks like this it wont last long under our showroom lights...call now!! 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle for Sale 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle for Sale Stock # 3011-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. Show-stopping. Jaw-dropping. Amazing. Gorgeous. Wicked. Real 138!! These are just some of the words we've heard people use to describe this fantastic bright red 1966 Chevelle SS. And they're all appropriate, because this is a seriously nice car. The bodywork alone probably cost as much as a new Impala, and the results speak for themselves: exacting gaps, laser-straight panels, and an incredible 2-stage urethane finish that will blow you away when you see it in person. There are no modifications, the effect you see is simply due to taking the factory equipment to the next level and making sure everything is as nice as it can possibly be. From the correct SS grille to the blacked-out tail panel, this car only wears what the GM stylists gave it, no more and no less. Not many cars achieve this level, and the time and effort it required must have been measured in years, not months. OK, sure, the chrome and trim might be showing a bit of original age, but it's quite minor and that's a pretty small nit to pick. Overall, this car shows extremely well. The interior features restored black bucket seats, fresh carpets, new door panels, and a beautiful center console with a built-in clock. An aftermarket tachometer has been mounted adjacent to the speedometer, and you'll appreciate it after you rip through all four gears with the big block under the hood at full song. And since the factory was kind of light on information, a trio of auxiliary gauges was installed under the dash in the usual location. An AM/FM/cassette stereo system fits neatly in the original radio's slot, and uses the original knobs so nothing looks out of place. A Hurst shifter with a cue ball knob is a period-perfect addition, along with the wood-rimmed SS steering wheel with aluminum spokes. And like the exterior, everything inside is beautifully finished, including the trunk which offers a reproduction mat and full-sized spare tire. Although the air cleaner decal says 427, this one actually sports 454 cubic inches under that stock hood. It's actually an ultra-rare 1970 LS4, which was a police-spec powerplant designed for heavy-duty use. Externally identical to the 396, there's no harm in a little deception and the engine certainly runs as well as any of the legendary big blocks of the past. Dressed in proper Chevy Orange with a set of chrome valve covers, it looks very correct, and they resisted the urge to upgrade obvious stuff, so it still runs cast iron exhaust manifolds and manual steering and brakes. Underneath, it's pure driver-grade, which means you can enjoy this car to its potential without worries, and there appears to be no major signs of trouble that would turn you off this amazing car. The exhaust system features Flowmasters, while the suspension and brakes are stock, so it's easy to service. Factory-style Rally wheels are a favorite and correct look on cars like this, and carry staggered 235/60/15 front and 275/60/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials. Amazing to look at and thrilling to drive, this car more than delivers on its awesome looks. 1966 Chevelles are getting rare, and a true 138 code SS car is even tougher to find in shape like this, and this one will undoubtedly draw a crowd wherever it goes simply because it's so beautifully built. In this business, that really is a rare thing. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS Frame Off Built Impala SS ZZ4 V8 400 HP + Air Ride + AC Year: 1963 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Red Mileage: 823 Transmission type: 2 Speed Automatic Engine: ZZ4 V8 Interior color: Gold Vehicle info A vast majority of the metal that comes through our RK Motors Charlotte showroom is either flawless, concours-level show fare or incredibly original, low-mileage garage fodder. Professionally restored and powered by a smooth yet potent ZZ4 small block, this impressive Impala the kind of fully sorted cruiser that is ready to capture plenty of awards at local car shows, and be enjoyed to and from those events. The beneficiary of a no expenses spared $160,000 restoration, this Impala presents new in nearly every way. The complete frame-off restoration was finished in December of 2010. This top-of-the-line, St. Louis produced Chevy displays immaculate bodywork that simply glistens under our bright showroom lighting. It's obvious a lot of time and effort was put into making sure the car's profile was extremely straight, which resulted in chiseled sheetmetal that's completely wave-free. That time was well spent, as better-than-factory fit perfectly centers hinged pieces which move freely and close with a solid thunk. And those thunks are bathed in a rich shade of red that's been sealed in a durable clearcoat and buffed to a spectacular shine. The 1963 Impalas were sleek and stylish, with an absence of excessive chrome that suggested GM was coming out of its tailfin-induced hangover from the 1950s. At the front of the car, a body width stainless grille is stamped with black "Chevrolet" script and houses four clear headlights above centered parking lights. At the edge of the hood, a great looking chrome Chevrolet emblem features a traditional blue bowtie centered between red and white inlays. Below the grille, a wrap-around chrome bumper houses a cool ridged center section and displays a mirror-like showroom fresh shine. At the sides of the car, customized monochromatic Chevrolet crossed flag emblems combine with rear fender mounted "Fuel Injected" emblems to break up the sea of red paint, and chrome door handles sit above a white inlayed and "Impala" branded stainless body moldings to emphasize the car's long body. At the top of the car, all new glass is flanked by well-maintained stainless trim, new chrome bowtie mirrors and bright stainless wipers. Out back, six traditional chrome Chevrolet tail lights sit inside a silver rear valence panel above another show worthy chrome bumper. On the trunk lid, a second chrome Chevrolet emblem houses the same blue bowtie along with the same pristine inlays as the hood emblem and sits above another stamped black "Chevrolet" script. Lift the hood on this Antelope and you'll be carried to a valley of chrome surrounded by a black engine bay. Under the bright work, a GM Performance ZZ4 crate motor cranks out over 400hp worth of motivation for this cruiser. Chrome valve covers that have been branded with ZZ4 lettering match the air cleaner cover perfectly, offering a cohesive look to the engine. The reflective theme is continued at the front of the engine where a polished alternator, power steering pump, and air conditioning compressor spin off of engine power. At the front, a polished aluminum radiator keeps the mill cool with some assistance from a chrome, electric fan setup. The firewall has been smoothed and remains largely accessory free with the exception of the polished master cylinder. Turn the key and the small block rumbles to life with a mellow exhaust note befitting of the car's clean and classy look. Bolted to the powerful ZZ4 is a Powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission that has been equipped with a 2500rpm B&M stall converter. But the real story under the car is the upgraded air-ride suspension that allows you to achieve the perfect look by simply adjusting the bags from within the ride. Bolted to the air-ride suspension in the front is Strong Arm Tubular front control arms and in the rear a Strong Arm Three-link rear suspension helps achieve the perfect stance. Dual exhaust runs the length of car and is equipped with Flowmaster mufflers to create a breathtaking rumble when the small block roars to life. Stopping power comes courtesy of four-wheel disc brakes, and in front of those brakes 17" and 18" Budnik rims have been wrapped in Sumitomo HTRZ rubber. Adding to the appeal of this Impala is the completely custom two-tone leather interior that is absolutely stunning. The leather design is simple yet classy enough to grab everyone's attention as they walk by. Up front you have two white and gold leather bucket seats separated by the middle console. Behind the front seats, two more rear bucket seats create a roomy and comfortable place for you and your 3 closest friends. In front of the driver is a Budnik, leather wrapped steering wheel that rests on a polished Ididit steering column. Beyond the steering wheel you'll find a custom Dakota Digital dash cluster that keeps an eye on the power plant. Open the console between the front seats and you'll reveal the controls for the Air-Ride technologies air suspension. Add on niceties like power windows, Billet Specialties window and door handles, Alpine stereo system, and a polished Vintage Air A/C unit and you have one incredible interior that has to be seen in person to really appreciate. This could easily be one of the nicest '63 Impalas on the planet. If you are in the market for a resto-mod that combines the elegance and simplicity of yesteryear with a modern powerful engine and a luxurious interior, then this is the Impala for you. It's a wonderful car to drive, enjoy and even haul three or four of your coolest friends in. Any Impala is a cool car, but this 1966 Impala SS shows just 46,751 believed-to-be original miles and presents in outstanding survivor condition. Oh, and did we mention that it's a lifetime California car and a real code 18 SS? Got your attention, didn't we? When you spend your life in California, it shouldn't be a surprise that you remain in outstanding condition, particularly if you're a car. Finished in its original Sandalwood Tan, this Impala has a classic, understated look that belies the horsepower that lies beneath, and it certainly seems as though someone ordered it just like this for a reason. The factory paint has a wonderful, warm glow that no modern paint could replicate and offers additional evidence that this car has always been someone's special toy, not something used to the daily grind. GM was slowly getting over their chrome addiction, but there's still plenty of brightwork on this SS, all of which is in excellent condition. From the brightly plated bumpers to the stainless rub strips that accent the side profile, to all the correct 'Super Sport' and '327' badges, the detailing on this car is extremely well preserved. The vinyl top adds the final piece of the puzzle, a sporty yet luxurious cap that makes this car all the more unusual. Bucket seats were a relatively rare option on Impalas in 1966, but all SS models got the good stuff, including buckets and a console. The seat covers, door panels, carpets, and dash pad are all original, giving this big hardtop a wonderful, comfortable look inside. A bright aluminum strip along the lower half of the dash houses the secondary controls, while an optional factory clock lives in its own pod atop the dash where everyone can see it. This amazing survivor also offers a factory tach in the dash, which is more evidence that the original owner was a guy who knew what he was getting into when he started checking off option boxes. The 4-speed with its big chrome shifter is framed by a console, one of the lone concession so to style and comfort, but after seeing how cool it looks, how could he resist? I'm going to guess that the trunk mat is a reproduction, but the spare is a period bias-ply whitewall that has clearly been there for a while, offering more evidence of this car's easy SoCal lifestyle. Power comes from a 327 cubic inch V8 which is rated at 275 horsepower. There's no question that this is a Grade-A survivor when you glance under the hood. While a few upgrades might add some horsepower, this one has somehow managed to remain almost completely stock for the past five decades. The Chevy Orange paint clinging to the engine was applied at the factory in 1966 and only routine maintenance items have been replaced over the years, including belts, hoses, and the mufflers. The 4-speed manual slices through the gears easily, and spins the original 10-bolt rear which has a Posi inside. It rides on original 14-inch steel wheels and optional mag-style wheel covers and a set of brand new Diamondback redline radials for a period-correct look. Full-sized luxury performance was the Impala's specialty, and if you enjoy the incomparable feel of an all-original car, this amazing Impala SS deserves a closer look. The market for early \'60s Impalas remains strong, and none are so iconic and desirable as the 1964 models. With clean styling, a ton of luxury features, and potent performance thanks to a wide variety of engines under the hood, Chevrolet created an Impala that could be as unique to each buyer as a custom-tailored suit. This very impressive 2-door SS sport coupe (yes it is a real code 14 SS) has been restored as needed, but still carries its original one-year-only silver interior and a bunch of rare options. Finished in Tuxedo Black, this SS stands out among its more common red brothers. Covering straight, clean bodywork, the brilliant black finish looks awesome with just the right amount of gloss, making it easy to believe it\'s 1964 all over again. Those long quarter panels are tough to repair if they\'ve been damaged, and given how straight this car is, it\'s probably never been rusty or hit. All the chrome and other trim pieces, including the bright metal SS insert running the length of the body, is in excellent condition. Up front, the Impala\'s grille is undamaged, while out back, all six taillights are bright and clear, including the back-up lamps in the center units. Inside, it\'s a stunning silver bucket seat interior with a ton of cool options. You\'ve probably never seen silver upholstery, since it was available only in 1964 and only with certain colors, making this car a very rare find. The interior\'s condition should tell you something about how well-maintained this car has been from new, and it all fits together very nicely with nothing looking too new or too old. The console is original and features the SS-exclusive engine-turned trim that matches the dashboard. There\'s also an original column-mounted tachometer and all the gauges are fully functional. This car also comes equipped with factory A/C (now with R134a refrigerant) and a rare AM/FM radio with rear speaker. Beautiful SS door panels, fresh black carpets, and an unmarked dash are all evidence of a car that has always been loved. Even the trunk is nicely finished with spatter paint, a full-sized spare, and a pair of accessory fender skirts if you happen to like the long, low, sleek look. The engine is Chevy\'s top seller in 1964, a Turbo-Fire 327 cubic inch V8, which is this car\'s original, numbers-matching powerplant. Contrasting Chevy Orange paint looks great against the satin black engine bay and there haven\'t been any notable deviations from stock. That\'s a factory air cleaner, original-style hoses and clamps, as well as a fresh reproduction Delco battery. Underneath, the chassis was detailed and the floors are finished in red oxide primer as original, with just enough overspray to re-create the way they did it at the factory. Brakes and suspension have been maintained to factory specs, and a recent set of mufflers gives the 327 a deep, powerful voice. A 2-speed PowerGlide automatic transmission feeds the original rear end and it rides on 225/70/14 redline radials and original wheels with spinner hubcaps. With just three owners who all obviously really cared about this car, this is an opportunity to own a stand-out Impala SS with V8 power and a lot of unusual options for a very reasonable price. Those of you wishing for the ultimate \'60s Impala need look no farther than this slick 1963 SS convertible, and yes, it\'s a real SS. A stout 409 provides the power and the triple black color combination is the way the factory delivered it. Yeah, this is definitely the one you\'ve been waiting for. Basic black is arguably the best color on these cars, perfectly capturing the dual-sided nature of the beast and giving it an elegant yet ruthless look. Black also emphasizes the length of the car, making it imposing and substantial, while at the same time showing off bodywork that will be the envy of the guys parked around you at any show. The clean lines of the Imp are highlighted by dramatic light and dark areas as the light plays across the body, leaving no secret as to why these cars were legendary in their own time. The original engine-turned trim is in excellent shape, as is the rest of the bright work, with the front and rear bumpers wearing fresh chrome that looks fantastic against the glossy black paint. If you want to get noticed, few cars can do it better than a big black ragtop that sounds like this one. We know this one is a real-deal SS because of the cowl tag, which shows a black bucket seat interior, which, as experts will tell you, was only available on SS models. The long-grain vinyl looks a lot more upscale than you\'d expect from the man-made material, and that\'s largely attributable to the quality of the work. Note the detailed patterns that defined Chevy\'s top-of-the-line machines, particularly the button-tufted door panels. This car has had extensive interior work in the very recent past, including a number of cleverly built-in speakers stashed throughout the passenger compartment, all of which can be removed without damage but are so well integrated that you almost don\'t notice that they\'re there. They are connected to an AM/FM/CD stereo head unit stashed in the glove box (remote included), which allows the original AM unit to remain in the dash for an authentic look. Engine-turned appliques on the dash and center console tie it together with the exterior, and a white cue ball on the shifter supervises the PowerGlide underneath. A new black canvas top and boot were stitched up just for this car, and the trunk carries a full-sized spare for emergencies. Chevy\'s 409 was the top dog in 1963, potent enough to have songs written about its performance. The one under the hood of this Impala looks quite stock, including the twin-snorkel air cleaner and uniquely shaped valve covers, all of which are covered in a bright layer of chrome. Chevy Orange on the block and heads continues the OEM look, and both the intake and carburetor are factory-issue. We don\'t have a lot of information on the engine build, but it runs superbly, doesn\'t smoke or make scary noises (except the good kind!), and despite its impressive performance, it\'s happy to trundle along in traffic without getting cranky. A fresh dual exhaust system provides a basso-profundo soundtrack, while the lowered stance and 17-inch Torque Thrust style wheels provide the right look. The right car, the right color, the right engine. What are you waiting for, Impala fans? This is it, so call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
