Hello MOPAR lovers , I have a Recently finished bad mamma jamma Newport Convertible Ready to show and go. This car has had a nice on body restoration and is a completely rust free desert Nevada car. It has a 440 four barrel from the factory that has been cleaned up and refreshed and sounds and runs like a beast. It just ran up and down the strip for 3 hours for a Music video shoot 2 weeks ago without a single hicup and no overheating issues, The brakes, shocks and 3" gangster wide white tires are all new. the interior has been updated and modernized with a Jack Daniels theme. Leather modern customized seats in Black with all new Black and chrome door panels with JD Bottle Arm rests. For the purist the factory door pulls and rests can be put on in minutes. The dash has been completely disasembled and the chrome has been polished and replaced. All the rubber on top, trunk, and doors has been replaced with new correct weatherstrip. The windshield is new and all the glass is in excellent shape. The power top is a high end brand new top with the glass window in back and not the cheap plastic, and when its down the glass displays the 4 10" Memphis Subs. The stereo has 3 Amps pushing over 3000 watts so you can bump the tunes when cruising with an under dash CD stereo with the original chrome radio in the dash. The exhaust system is brand new with glass packs so it has the propper 440 big block "boat" sound when idle. No expense was spared making this a nice driver that would be a great addition to any collection or for the guy who wants to make a statement. Honestly what can you buy these days for less than 20k that has this much curb appeal. The price of MOPARS go up every year and this car is a sound investment. I have 12 cars right now and 3 are in restoration stage and I need to let a few go to good homes. I will help arranging shipping as I use a local company that is honest,fair, and quick. Looking at a true survivor with a little over 46k miles. Great running car and has the original 400 motor. Heat and a\c both work. Vinyl top has no cracks. Original paint with a few touch ups. Very solid body and dash is in amazing shape. Floor pans are all solid and only issue is a spot underneath right in front of the rear tire on the driver's side. Just a great car that has been preserved and well taken care of. A few cons. Heater and a/c work on one speed and so either a cleaning of the switch or a new switch. Either way a quick small fix. 1966 was one of the best years for the design team at the Chrysler Corporation. With clean lines and a muscular stance, this Newport is a great combination of luxury and big block performance. The 383 cubic inch V8 runs beautifully, and with new wheels and tires this Chrysler cruises at highway speeds effortlessly. This is the last year for the art deco instrument cluster, including the very distinctive humped dashboard that houses a gun-sight speedometer, conjuring America's obsession with space exploration and flight during the 1960's. This particular Newport is in really nice shape and is ready to drive and enjoy. The lights, radio, windows, wipers, etc. all work as they should. The interior is in extremely nice shape and very comfortable. The guys at Chrysler in the '60's really hit the nail on the head with driver positioning, because from my first drive of this Newport I felt as if I'd owned it for years. I'm over 6 ft tall and it is as roomy and luxurious as any car I've owned. This Chrysler is a great chance to get a big block Mopar cruiser with a nice mix of aggressive looks and art deco luxury in a beautiful color combination. You are looking at a beautiful 1969 Chrysler Newport Convertible. This car is a fantastic Cruiser! This car was restored in the early 1990's. The person that performed the restoration was a professional as this car still looks good. I was able to track him down and he explained everything that he did to the car. I have some photos of the process. Car was originally Dark Green. Car was repainted R6 Red and the paint looks great. I get compliments on the paint finish all the time. Engine was rebuilt as a high performance 383 with a new camshaft, 4-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust. Old carburetor was gummed up and impossible to adjust, so I replaced with a brand new Holley. Car idles and runs very nicely. Car is in excellent shape. Body is clean of rust and very straight. It does have some small bubbles on the quarter panel over the right rear tire and on the Dutchman panel – both areas are hardly noticeable, but they are there. I replaced a portion of the driver floor that had rusted through. Underbody is clean! I had a New White Convertible Top and Back Glass installed and had the Air Conditioning fixed. I have also installed a new Battery, Engine Wiring Harness, and I upgraded the Alternator and Voltage regulator to the 1970 Chrysler design. I installed a new Fuel Tank sending unit (Gas Gauge now works). New Fuel Pump. New Spark Plug & Ignition Coil, I also had the rear axle rebuilt, new pinion and differential bearings, and upgraded the differential from a standard to an Eaton Truetrac. 2.76 Gear set was swapped for a 3.55 by the previous owner. New front stabilizer bar bushings. New Steering Gear. New Tie Rod Ball Joints. New Front Shocks. Engine is an Original Numbers Matching Engine 383. Transmission is the Original Numbers Matching 727 and it shifts smooth. Transmission does hesitate at cold start, but as it warms up it performs very nicely. Added new transmission cooler lines. I have completely replaced all brake components. Master Cylinder, Power Brake Booster, Wheel Cylinders, and brake shoes are new. Drums were turned. Car stops great. Power steering Interior is in great shape – White Seats / Black Carpet & Door Panels. New Carpet Installed. Exterior: Again this is a solid and straight car. However, the car does have a few minor dings and scratches that you would expect on a car of this vintage. Dings are mainly on the chrome trim and bumpers. All electrical functions as it should with the exception of the passenger window switches. I found the correct driver window gang switch (that controls a 4 windows) and replaced it and corrected the wiring in the door. All windows work from the driver door. Passenger switches need to be corrected. I also have many parts such as a rebuilt 727 Transmission, Front Disc Brake Swap Kit, window switches, etc. that will come with the car if the offer is right. Trust me, I have a lot more in this car than it will sell for. I am ok with that as I have enjoyed getting this car back to where it should be. I have tried to be as thorough as possible with my description of the vehicle, but there is a chance that I may have missed something. I have done a lot to this car.
