If you are in the market for a very nice, collectible, and fast appreciating car that is a blast to drive, you have to take a look at this car. I am sadly selling our 1989 XJ-SC convertible that car that has been in our family since May of 2001. The car was bought new at Dale Schumacher (British Motor Car Distributors, LTD) in San Francisco, CA on September 15th, 1989. It lived in California until my father in law bought it for my mother in law in 2001. They looked forever for an XJS with this color combination (very hard to find) and options (such as power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power top, tilt, cruise, leather, CD player, etc). At the time of purchase, the car has just a shade over 62k on the ODO. In the last few years, my father in law has passed and my mother in law can no longer get in and out of the car comfortably. The car has not been driven and just sits in the garage. So, we are finally letting go of it. The car has a clean Oregon title. It has had no accidents, body work, always been stored inside when not in use, and adult driven. In the last 250 miles, we have had the most well-known Jaguar repair shop in the state inspect and repair items from sitting, the Jag Shop of Portland, Oregon. Some of the replaced items include: Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 clean connections for main crankshaft position sensor, repair 2 fuel injector wires, replace brake pads and rotors, repack front wheel bearings, replace loose throttle shaft bushings, adjust linkages, Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 repaired the power steering rack (including rack boots and tower seals), installed a new distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, and wires. In addition, I just put brand-new tires on the car along with a battery. Knowing potential buyers may be interested in having an inspection on the car, I literally picked it from the shop yesterday (8-3-15) from the Jag Shop where they inspected the car and completed the tune-up. Therefore, this car is ready to drive! Unlike many British cars for sale, this car HAS had the costly repairs done professionally. Why buy a different car and then spend another few thousand on repairs of suggested maintenance? The body and paint on the car is very good. The paint shines well and definitely is an eye-catcher. It does have a few minor scratches and minor door dings as expected from a 26 year old car. However, they are barely noticeable due to the forgiving white paint. Meanwhile, the red interior is in very nice shape. The wood grain is excellent as is the dash. The seats have some wear but look and feel nice. The doors open and close well and do not sag. I put new shocks on the hood and it works excellent. The tires and brakes are new. The wheels could use some cleaning but present well. Lastly, the convertible top is free of rips or tears. This is a 2006 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H. It was one of 500 produced for the 40th Anniversary of the "Original" 1966 Hertz Rent-A-Racer. It is near mint in every respect. Everything is working. It has all the power equipment that it should from the Ford factory and all the upgrades that came from Shelby American in Las Vegas. Virtually all 500 were automatics. Every Hertz Mustang started out life as a standard Black Mustang GT...then it was shipped to Shelby American and they did some pretty serious upgrades to the car. Gold center stripes were added over the center of the car from front to tail. Gold side stripes added to the rocker panels....to this day....the only Black and Gold Mustangs are the GT-H series for Hertz. The original Mustang Alloys were used to save some expense, but the Pirelli P Zero tires, were an upgrade. Shelby also installed a Sirius Satellite radio control on the center console of every GT-H. Some were removed after Hertz service. This one is still fully in tact and works!! I added the 40th Anniversary Floor mats. One of the last sets available. Includes the Trunk mat too. The first owner also bought the GT-H "Cap Package". It consists of the GT-H wheel center caps and the Oil Filler, Washer Filler, Coolant Over-Flow, Power Steering Fluid, and Power Brake Fluid Caps under the hood. He also replaced all the standard star bolts in and around the engine compartment with stainless steel scalloped cap bolts. It all looks fantastic! I have all the original caps and bolts. They will go with the car to the new owner. An original set of Ford floor mats is also included. Now here's a partial list of what American Shelby did to upgrade this Mustang to GT-H status....3.55 rear end. X-Pipe Exhaust, including over-sized stainless steel dual exhaust tips. Handling Package including front and rear Torsion bars, Struts in front and Shocks in the rear. Power Package: Exhaust, and Cold Air Intake.Front grill, first owner also added the lower stainless bar grill. Front Fascia. Side scoops on left and right sides.Hood Pins and brackets with retaining wire. New Hood. Shelby badging all around including special car number and Carrol Shelby simulated autograph on the center section of the dashboard. Side "Hertz" badges. Also an engine security wire seal. It's still there. It was to prevent someone from renting it and swapping out the engine for a standard V-8. I have all the original Hertz paperwork that was given to the first private party owner. And the Original MSO that Ford crated and gave to Hertz to license the car. The original California title issued to Hertz. This one was delivered to San Diego, Ca. Where it spent it's entire in-service life. The first owner also lived there. I bought the car from him and drove it home to Portland, Or in January, 2014, last year. The original set of Hertz California lip-stick plates are here and go with the car. Yes they are listed on the Hertz title. There's a one-year old Firestone Battery in the car, oil was changed and wiper blades installed. Now for some bonus material....The first private party owner which Hertz sold to, was supposed to receive and invitation to buy an original artwork piece from Ford, showing the first "66 Hertz racer along side the current "06 Hertz Mustang. I was fortunate enough to be able to get one of the last three in existence. It is shown in the pics below. It has a special plaque listing the car number 0091 and the first owners name. It is HAND SIGNED by Carrol Shelby. I also have the original invitation that was sent out, but no envelope. It is mint and there is a certificate of authenticity that was sent with each glicee' print. I also bought a reproduction showroom banner that Hertz would have displayed at the rental counter. It goes with the car and is shown in the pictures. In addition...first owner bought a replacement leather seat cover for ...someday?? It goes with. An extra set of gold rocker panel side stripes. And a spare matching alloy wheel with a Pirelli P Zero mounted to it. He did not want to be caught with the compact spare tire in case he had a flat....he never did. The car runs and drives like new. The car has the Stage III engine and the Stage II Suspension. It will do 0 to 60mph in 4 seconds or better. Top speed is probably in excess of 175mph. Third gear at 7000 rpms is 120mph with another 1000 rpms to redline and two more gears to go! The motor has 10,000 miles on it. It was built in Dinan's Race shop with Carillo Racing Rods, Dinan Stage I, II, and III software installed, Dinan Cold Air Intake System, Dinan High Flow Air Flow Meter, and the Super Sprint Exhaust System. The motor has between 350 to 360 horsepower with an 8000 rpm redline with a rev limiter. Dinan Stage II Suspension with Dinan front and Rear Sway Bars, Dinan Strut Tower Brace, H&R Racing Springs (3" Drop), Blistein Sport Shocks/Struts, and Michelin Pilot Sport Front & Rear Tires. Alpine stereo with satellite radio remote and removable radio face, plus a 250W JL audio amp and custom sub-woofers. This SL is a clean and accident free example that benefits from good maintenance. Astral Silver over black leather is a very attractive combo, and this car presents very nicely inside and out. Within the last 4000 miles the car received a new timing chain, new spark plugs, and valve cover gaskets. It has also had a full A/C service with conversion to R134a. There are many 107-series SLs on the market, but this one is distinguished by good colors, matching factory hardtop, and major maintenance. It is reliable and ready to drive. The paint finish remains very nice following one high-quality repaint in its original Astral Silver. The black soft top is in very good condition with a clear plastic window. The original polished ‘Bundt” style alloy wheels were an optional feature in '78 and wear good Bridgestone tires. The interior looks extremely clean and nicely detailed. A cover protects the original dash pad which shows only tiny cracks around the defrost vents. Wood remains in good condition with slight cracks around the power window switches.
