If you're not looking for an 1985 Corvette, you should be! If you are, then congratulations!! No need to look any further!!! The '85 'vette is the best model year to have!! It's the last year (IMHO) the Corvette was more "Muscle Car" than "Sports Car" . . . . all iron small block Chevy; manual AC, no ABS, no 3rd tail light - clean lines and pure Corvette performance with the new Bosch TPI fuel injection system. Super comfortable leather seats (the best of any generation Corvette - sit in the others - I think you'll agree!). Z51 included: Delco-Bilstein shocks (now Monroe's), heavy duty cooling, heavy duty front & rear springs, stabilizers and bushings, fast ratio steering & 9.5" wide wheels. I've owned (& enjoyed!) the car for more than 2 years and it is in very good condition with minor cosmetic issues typical of a vehicle this age. Runs very well; no fluid leaks from engine, trans, steering, brakes, radiator, etc.; interior and exterior in very nice shape. It was run on a chassis dyno last Fall and puts out 253HP/364 lb-ft at the crankshaft. It is stock except for the Borla exhaust system (no cat) and K&N intake filter as the only modifications. Everything works with this one including the emergency brake and power antenna. Even the spare tire is there and ready to go. It is relatively inexpensive to own (maybe the least expensive Corvette of all model years) and insure since (where available) you can insure it as a historical vehicle (full coverage in Michigan is <$200/year) - parts are very cheap and plentiful because the C4 was made for 13 years (1984-1996) there is a lot of "factory customizing" you can do using parts from all these years of the generation. According to the prior owner, the car was repainted in 1999. It looks good overall but there is a small amount of peeling around the front bumper insert. It has a full set of 8.5" rims (non Z51) with (2) 9.5" (Z51) included in the sale. You can get another (2) 9.5"s if you want to bring it back to Z51 configuration. The prior owner put the standard rims on to save $$ when new tires were installed in 2010 (tires in great shape - good tread - BF Goodrich Comp TA). Complete tune-up, all new fluids, new black front floor mats and (4) shocks last year. No pending maintenance required. I would drive this car 1,000's of miles without hesitation. If you want to pay me to deliver it then let me know. . . . we'll figure out a plan (but best if you come to Michigan). Transmission, brakes, coolant system, and steering no issues; instrument panel no issues; cruise control, AC, radio, wipers, headlights, seats, etc - no issues. LH power window has new gear drive; RH is original tape drive (slower). The only item I can recommend be done is new weatherstripping for the doors and transparent roof panel if you want to drive it in the rain as the roof leaks a little bit due to the original seals still being there. I'm also including some misc. small parts and books too. Overall, I think it will be difficult to find a better one for less money! Please e-mail with any questions. Thanks for looking!! P.S. This is a 28+ year old vehicle and no guarantees/warranty are implied or expressed - sold in as-is / where-is condition.
