Eccentric gearheads knew if you wanted to look cool, you bought an L-Body. And if you wanted to look cool and go fast, you bought a Shelby L-Body. Averaging just over 430 miles per year, this pint-size MoPar appears to have rarely seen anything other than sunshine and warm summer days. A quick check of the car's undercarriage and suspension reveals no evidence of catastrophic rust or abuse. A quick check of the car's profile reveals its body has never seen any major repairs. And a quick check of our pictures confirms its original Santa Fe and Radiant Silver skin is both bright and glossy. That's right, even 31 years after it rolled out of the showroom this spry sports coupe is still a true head turner everywhere it goes! With its low window sills and 2.5-box proportions, this Shelby is a model of early '80s cool. At the front of the car, an aggressive, Shelby-designed air dam centers a black pentastar and clean "DODGE" script between clear parking lamps and bright halogen headlights. At the top of that dam, a sloped hood leads the eye to tinted and "SHELBY" branded glass that's flanked by small mirrors and aerodynamic C-pillar trim. At the base of that glass, a planar profile hangs black door handles and a body-matched fuel filler above straight Shelby stripes and pentastar-branded rocker extensions. And at the back of that profile, a dramatic Shelby spoiler frames clean tail lights, a full array of decklid emblems and an original dealer decal. In their effort to improve the Charger, Shelby and Chrysler did not overlook the car's mechanicals. They tweaked the engine, milling the block 0.030 inches to raise compression to 9.6 to 1. They changed the camshaft timing by advancing the cam a few degrees. They also made modifications to the 2.2 liter's electronic controls to extract optimum performance. Consequently, the Shelby powerplant develops 13 more horsepower and 10 more lb./ft. of torque than the standard Omni mill. These enhancements, plus a lower final drive ratio, make the car a tick quicker than the standard Charger and its early '80s competition. Specifically, the Shelby has a 0 to 60 time of 10 seconds flat and a 117MPH top speed. The engine compartment in this L-Body is mostly original and in great condition. And, decked in black and blue, it's as serious looking as the rest of the car, with just a hint of color here and there to add both texture and contrast. Shelby Chargers came standard with an A525 5-speed that feeds the front wheels. Holding that tossable drivetrain off the ground is an original Special Sports Suspension that utilizes shorter springs, stiffer shocks and correct power front disc and rear drum brakes to both lower the car and improve already responsive handling. At the center of that chassis, an original single-pipe exhaust system snakes spent gases through a factory-correct muffler. At the corners of that chassis, original 'pizza' wheels spin original 195/50R15 Goodyear Eagle GTs around locking lug nuts. And, still dressed in most of its blue overspray, this Charger is a clean, fully sorted survivor that's ready to hit the road as soon as it rolls out of our showroom! This coupe's tri-tone cockpit, which nicely complements its 2-tone exterior, shows hardly any signs of wear. The reclining seats keep you as comfortable for quick blasts of speed as they do during long road trips. I always wanted the grabber blue with white stripes. When I found the one D&M had for sale I knew I wanted the car because it was 2010 grabber blue with red stripe ( never seen the combo before ) I always said I would never buy a car sight unseen but everything just felt right. During that time I have had over 12 Corvettes and during the last 3 years I have been collecting High end classic cars. After working on a friends Corvette I got the bug to get another Corvette. I went to the internet site of D&M Motorsports . Their site has all High Def photos that are taken by a professional photographer and I found a pristine 1993 40th Anniversary Corvette with only 1,300 documented miles. I went up to D&M and Dave handled the sale. We settled on a price and I purchased the car that day. Because of the low miles on the car Dave arranged with Mike to deliver the car in an enclosed trailer to my home. Mike is the President & owner of D&M yet he took the time to deliver the car himself. Either you're so mad at the product or the seller you write a scathing report or you're so enthralled 2 days after you buy you gush with enthusiasm. I started looking for a Corvette in October of 2013 all over the Midwest and D & M Motorsports was just one of the dealers I pestered for 4 months, in those months I met with Angie and Dave checking out the cars I previously viewed and all their new arrivals. At no time was I pressured to purchase and every meeting was cordial and all my questions were answered no matter how long it took. In February 2014 they got in the car I wanted and I made an offer they agreed too and with the contingency I could have the car checked out. Not only did they agree to my terms they even stored the car for a month till the weather broke and at no charge. I always wanted the grabber blue with white stripes. Their site has all High Def photos that are taken by a professional photographer and I found a pristine 1993 40th Anniversary Corvette with only 1,300 documented miles. For 1970 the Mustang received a smoother body, a less aggressive face, a flat rear valence and a variety of balanced trim tweaks. The idea was to tame looks that some believed were hindering sales and better the car's performance in crucial SCCA Trans Am events. At the leading edge of this super slick Boss, a correct, Mustang-branded grille hangs bright halogen headlights between familiar 'fender fins', a pristine bumper, clear parking lamps and an aggressive chin spoiler. At the top of that grille, a solid Mustang hood leads the eye to like-new glass that's framed in satin-finished wipers, correct sport mirrors and straight stainless trim. Aesthetically, this Mustang's well-detailed engine bay appears very close to original, featuring even Satin Black paint under correct Ford decals. And everything, from the car's vintage washer tank to its reproduction battery, is fully-sorted and ready to roll. Take a look under this awesome GT500 and you'll find clean floors that are no stranger to road time. Just aft of the legendary V8, a tough C6 3-speed spins a correct Ford 9-inch around moderate, 3.50 gears. At the front of the car, factory control arms hang a correct sway bar and factory power steering between correct power disc brakes. At the back of the car, stiff springs hang traditional, power-assisted drums at the edges of a leak-free fuel tank. In the middle of the car, a beefy, true-dual exhaust system funnels spent gases through an H-shaped crossover, throaty turbo mufflers and small stainless tips. For 1970 the Mustang received a smoother body, a less aggressive face, a flat rear valence and a variety of balanced trim tweaks. The idea was to tame looks that some believed were hindering sales and better the car's performance in crucial SCCA Trans Am events. At the leading edge of this super slick Boss, a correct, Mustang-branded grille hangs bright halogen headlights between familiar 'fender fins', a pristine bumper, clear parking lamps and an aggressive chin spoiler.
