The Series II Dragon Roadster uses race-proven stock Corvette C4 aluminum suspension components in a dedicated race quality space frame chassis with a vintage-styled original fiberglass body and small block engine. The result is stunning in appeal and proved its world class performance on the track with Class Wins each year raced at Run & Gun. Offered For Sale by the California Automobile Museum The Dragon Motor Cars Prototype Series II Roadster. In the words of the builders, this Dragon is "No Nonsense High Performance". This Dragon is powered by a 1996/1997 General Motors LT-1 series V8 coupled to a 4L60E 4 Speed Automatic transmission. The mechanical configuration is still generally as originally installed. The Dragon rides on adjustable coil over shocks in all four corners, steering and handling as well as the suspension for the front end was provided by a C-4 Corvette donor. Out back you'll find a solid 10 bolt G.M. axle mounted in a 4 link configuration and a modified drive line connecting it all together. Manual dual circuit 4 wheel disc brakes with dual piston calipers up front and single pistons in the rear provide ample stopping power and the American Racing Torque Thrust rims wrapped in Toyo Proxes 4 275/40 ZR17 tires transfer your desires to go or stop to the ground. Additionally, for added performance and longevity, the braking circuits are plumbed with steel braided brake lines. The LT-1 engine has been dressed up with some tasteful additions including true dual exhaust with custom exhaust headers and functional side pipes. (a modification completed by the original fabricators of the Dragon) A chrome alternator has been installed and Corvette covers atop the intake. Cooling is efficiently handled by an electric pilot controlled fan fastened to an aluminum Griffin radiator. The large air inlet in the front allows the Series II to cool much better than its predecessor. Electrically, the Dragon utilizes the factory designed system for the LT-1 engine and power is supplied by a newer Die Hard series battery. At 2200 pounds or so, this High Performance vehicle is pure business. There are no frills, no amenities, and no creature comforts. Mechanical and vitals are monitored by 6 gauges including Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, Battery and Charging System Voltage, Fuel Level, Tachometer, and a Speedometer. Turn signals, Headlights, Electric Fans, Windshield Wipers, Horn, and High/Low Beam Headlight operations are controlled by neatly installed toggle switches in easy reach of the pilot. You won't find a need for a stereo in this machine. The sound of the engine and finely tuned exhaust provide all the listening pleasure you will ever need. Operating this machine is no major issue. There is plenty of leg room in the cockpit for even the tallest of drivers. The side profile of the car is low and very easy to enter even considering one has to step over the side into the pilots seat. Once comfortably seated, the pilot has the protection of a full body width roll bar, chrome fire extinguisher, and RJS Racing 5 point harnesses to protect against nearly any unfortunate event that may arise. Operation of this ferocious Dragon is handled by the Radio Controlled Paddle shift and the GT Grant removable steering wheel. As with any vehicle used over a period of 8 plus years, no matter how meticulously cared for, one will find a few minor blemishes. This Dragon is no exception. On the exterior, the recently modified paint (original paint scheme reversed from red with black accents to its current configuration) has a small bubble on the right rear section of the trunk lid just in front of the integrated spoiler and some very minor road rash on the chin up front. Some swirls are also present but should be easily removed with a high quality detail. The *Leather* interior is in very good condition with no tears, rips, or other signs of wear other than some discoloration on the pilot's seat from where one would place their foot while stepping in to the car. Built on an ultra-clean, stripped-down 2-door post coupe, the specifications read like a high-end parts catalog, including a fuel injected small block and custom paint, and it all combines to create one of the finest custom Chevelles we've ever featured. Refinished in tasteful purple over tan, there was just no point in trying to be subtle. Most of the original sheetmetal was retained, but in the quest for perfection, everything was smoothed and straightened so that the custom work would really stand out. The trim was all shaved to give it a sleeker look and a cowl-induction hood was installed simply because nothing looks better on an early A-body. The de-badging was thorough, and the most interesting detail on the car is now a simple graphic that creates a side molding on the rear quarters. The two-stage urethane paint looks so spectacular that onlookers might think it's still wet and it's obvious that a lot of late nights went into getting all the panels aligned just right. It's a few years old now, so it's got a few signs of work, but there's no denying that a lot of money went into the build. There's no chrome or stainless left, but the bumpers were tucked in close to the body and the window frames were expertly painted to match the body, adding a very monochromatic look that's quite appealing. There's not much stock Chevelle equipment remaining inside. Low-back buckets have beautiful tan cloth upholstery that is a lot more supple and comfortable than the hardy, shiny GM stuff. Custom door panels and carpets with custom floor mats add to the illusion that this is no ordinary Chevelle. The original dash has been extensively reworked; turn the key and it lights up with an instrument panel full of Dakota Digital instruments flanked by a leather-wrapped Budnik steering wheel on a custom tilt column. A custom center console adds a dose of style and practicality, and houses the shifter for the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission underneath. A powerful AM/FM/CD stereo with separate amplifiers in the trunk provides the soundtrack and there are power window and lock switches neatly integrated into the design. In the trunk, you'll find more gorgeous custom work that's more than up to the standards set by the interior design. Mechanically, this car is a wolf in, well, wolf's clothing. The 350 cubic inch L98 is topped by aluminum heads and fed by a factory Tuned Port fuel injection system that makes it start quickly, idle like a modern car, and pull like a freight train. Everything under the hood has been painted to match the body, the firewall and inner fenders have been smoothed, and a few splashes of machined aluminum add contrast. A BeCool aluminum radiator with a giant electric fan keeps it cool no matter what, and you're in good hands with power steering and front disc brakes. Out back there's a 12-bolt rear end hanging on upgraded trailing arms. Everything underneath has also been painted to match and remains in excellent condition with only minor signs of use. The time has come to sell my 1988 International custom-built diesel dually. I am selling my antique cars so my wife says I no longer need a cool, bad boy tow vehicle. This truck was originally a box truck to which the former owner fitted a late model F350 dually pickup truck bed. The truck chassis has 220,000 miles, but the motor is re-manufactured Jasper 7.3L International diesel with low miles. The diesel rumbles to life at the touch of the starter and the rear air bag suspension raises the truck from an easy-to-load 27" bed height into a rather menacing stance. This custom pickup always draws a crowd whether we are towing one of our cars to a show or picking up a few sheets of plywood at Home Depot. It runs and drives great, has a heavy-duty tow package with electric brake unit and can pull a house down the road at 70 mph all day. My wife says the air horn can wake the dead! The cab interior has not been customized. It shows the regular signs of wear as a truck would for the miles. The oversized bench seat is worn with a small hole, but some comfy Escalade leather seats would fix that! There is no body rust that I can find except for a few spots of surface rust at the rear window (see pic). It has a low-cost paint job that is shiney, but has lots of overspray, runs, small chips and amateur touch-ups. I just installed new glow plugs, new chrome stack, new front and rear shocks (it needed them!), new brake hoses, new battery, and a new Viair model 092 12 volt air compressor, storage tank, air lines and controls for the air bags and the new air horn. It has air conditioning, but I have never tried it, so I don't know if it works. I do know the heater works.The rear tires should be replaced for winter driving. The next step would be to install air bags on the front axle. That would make it a real low-rider show truck!!! The truck has a GVWR of less than 18,000 lbs (17,998) and hydraulic brakes, so a commercial driver's license (CDL) is not required. Additionally, it is registered and insured as a 1988 International pickup, not a commercial truck. Check out all the pictures and take a video test drive!!!! In its former life, the van was used as a sears appliance service vehicle and not abused. We are first a commercial van and truck dealer, but also build 4 wheel drive conversion vans and have done quite a few if you've been following. This particular van is a thorough example of what we can and do build. It's a complete custom vehicle with a host of new and rebuilt components, complete custom paint, and fitted / finished custom interior. clean original condition no salt truck, with an extensive and detailed coil spring 4 wheel setup. The van is well suited to be a platform for your camper or RV type build, or to be used as a service vehicle. This is a non extended model with the 4.6 2 valve motor, and 4.10 gearing, built for both over the road traveling and overbuilt for off-road usage. Our 4 wheel conversion employs a custom 4 link front end with in this case, a reconditioned 2006 Superduty axle from a 1 ton truck. We utilize all new grade 10 hardware and new bushings. It has all new tie rods, new coil springs front, new ball joints, new sway bar, sway bar links, new shocks at all 4 corners, new custom drive shafts, new track bar and joints, and this one has a rebuilt NP271 manual transfer case again from a 1 ton truck. It's been freshly aligned by a heavy truck shop including cam bushings. The transmission is a rebuilt 4rR75 with new low stall torque converter which vastly improves off line performance of the 4.6 motor. The van has new 33" KO2 tires, aluminum offset wheels. There is very little mechanically besides the engine that has not been gone through on the van, and it came in running/driving perfect with zero leaks or issues when we bought it. At asking price, our vans come with a 6 month 6,000 mile warranty on all 4 wheel components modified including the transmission. Parts nation wide, and labor locally as well. Our conversion is constructed with mostly conventional parts serviceable at any truck shop or Ford dealer, most everything is widely available and straightforward to work on. We will provide a build and part sheet for you on the truck on delivery. exterior This van is both clean and straight. It has never seen road salt, so there is no rust to speak of, undercarriage photos shown. The paint is Audi Nogaro Blue Pearl which is not metallic. The van was originally blue, so the transition was easy, the front door jambs were done, rear and under-hood was close enough as is. The roof has been blended, not a complete strip and spray, but it looks perfectly presentable and frankly is hard to see given the vans' size. Paint was done in base-clear and it's nice and glossy, hasn't been color sanded but probably doesn't need to be. Over-spray is very minimal, much of the trim was removed prior to paint, and the windshield and molding was replaced after the photos. The bumpers and grille were sanded, primed, painted and cleared as well. The wheels are new, and tires are new BFG AT2s, 10 ply 285s, we don't skimp on anything. Wheels are 8x170 and we'll include an appropriate spare tire, jack and lug wrench.The photos document the van well. It's not a 10 point garage queen, but it's awfully pretty and quite imposing. Driving it down the road seems to cause people of all ages to turn their heads and smile. We have incorporated the sliding door hinge extension so it clears the right rear wheel, rubs just a hair, but opens all the way and easily. We've since also installed a pair of side step hoops in black under the front doors, they look nice and work great on these vans. I have them on my own. interior The interior has been fully gone through. Up front it's all just very clean and tidy, new padding under the flooring, custom upholstery piping and perforated inserts with heated seats all neatly wired that function perfectly. Yes, they get hot! We will include the missing center consul cup holder, was just out for cleaning during the photos. The stereo is basic, and the van does not currently have cruise control. We can swap out the steering wheel for a cruise unit and have it programmed for about $500 if needed. The cargo space was fully stripped out, insulated walls, doors, has new door cards, all custom paneling, and 6 touch LED lights that run off a switch by the sliding door entry. Basically with the switch on, they have very faint micro-leds that glow slightly, then when you touch them, the light up brightly, photos were a little blurry at night, but you get the idea. The van smells like new, everything works, clean and very comfy.mechanic We've put about 80 miles on this van since conversion and it's all there. It drives straight, shifts great, 4x4 works like a charm, and power is fine for city and highway use as long as you don't plan to pull a 10,000lb trailer up the hill every day. The 4.6s perform fine for what they are with the 4.10 gearing and low stall converter. If you feel you need a diesel, we do build them and have one coming up shortly. This van is much better suited to daily driving than a diesel, it's one of the quietest Ford Cargo vans I've ever driven, and we've sold 150 4x4 vans and a thousand Econolines. This van is quieter than my own van and I think it's a more responsive driver tooThere isn't much that hasn't been replaced or gone through on this rig. The ball joints and front end is all new, fresh fluid changes in both diffs, t-case, and transmission, and brake fluid, 4x4 works great, no drivability issues, check engine lights, leaks or other hiccups. Case in point is this gorgeous '56 GMC 100. It's got the power where it counts, great looks, and a bed that isn't too over-dressed for its day job. Similar to its Chevrolet cousins, this unique GMC packages up a unique 50's era paint scheme with the historic look of a classic pickup. Finished in a flashy, yet subtle blue and white, the great paint is enough to receive plenty of looks while traveling down the road. You'll notice right away that the truck has been lowered and features a set of custom rims. Finish work is quite good, with good gaps all around and a handsome GMC emblem on the hood. What little chrome is on this '56 is in fantastic shape. Inside that bed you'll find a nice gray floor that is ready to haul all your luggage on long trips like the Hot Rod Power Tour. The exterior is definitely eye-catching, but its also what is under the hood and in the cab that will blow you away. Pop open the doors and you'll be pleasantly surprised to find a very modern interior. The door panels are painted the same flashy blue as the exterior and features similar white accents. Moving farther inside the cab you can see that the seats have been updated to vinyl bucket seats from a late model. The driver's seat is powered, and with the updated seats comes the updated safety of three point shoulder seat-belts, making this one truck that is both modern and vintage at the same time. Sitting comfortably in the driver's seat, you will notice grey carpet underfoot and face a modern three spoke steering wheel. The custom dash features Auto Meter white-faced gauges that look sharp sitting in the white accent panel on the blue dash. Auxiliary gauges are in the center console which also houses the custom stereo system that is an AM/FM/CD player that's iPod compatible, and also features an amp and custom sound behind the passangers. With the shift light in place you will have no problem knowing when to use the floor shifter if you chose to. Needless to say, this interior is one that is clean, crisp, and again, a great combo of modern and vintage. Lift the hood and you'll find a very dressed up, and very stout, 305ci small block V8. According to the 14010201 casting number, we know that the engine was pulled from a 1980-1984 Chevy pickup. However, it never looked this good from the factory, and certainly didnt provide this much punch. Our sales staff is VERY presently surprised how much power it produces. The completely rebuilt engine features an aggressive air cleaner, Edelbrock performer intake manifold, Edelbrock 500 CFM carburetor, Edelbrock fuel pump and a hi-flow water pump. Spent gasses travel out the Hedman headers through a true dual exhaust system equipped with Flowmaster mufflers. The engine bay is extremely detailed and is ready to proudly be displayed with the hood up at your local car show or cruise in. Bolted to the sharp small block is an automatic transmission that sends power to a Dana 45 rear end equipped with 4.11 gears. All that power is supplied to the ground thanks to 15" custom rims that have been wrapped in Invader Radial G/Ts.
