This 280z is in very nice condition as you can see from the pics. I've had this car 2 years but have driven it very little due to lack of time. I purchased this car from a dealer in Virginia and they said they had purchased it from someone in North Carolina so it has been a southern car for some if not all of its life. The motor runs nice and smooth. The steering (which is manual) works well as do the brakes. The transmission is a manual 5speed. Even the stock radio works if you raise the manual antenna. The windows/doors/hatch all work as they should. It has air conditioning but it is currently not working however the fan does work. All of the AC components appear to be there. I installed new tires on it shortly after i got it so they are brand new. Car is complete and is missing nothing that i am aware of other than the spare tire and jack. The paint on the car looks nice but it is not a flawless show car. Just a very nice car you can drive and enjoy.

Shell is great for someone with a rusted body looking to transfer as it is very clean. Currently in primer. It will need a nes hood or to have current hood fixed as it has a few rust spots, not unfixable though. Car was setup for v8 swap and has fuel cell installed, coilovers on all 4 corners, shaved engine bay ( battery tray removed). I have the interior for the car I am missing one a pillar trim piece. Dash work was started for removing the side ac vents since roll cage and vintage air was going into the car. This isn't a 2k z so don't ask. If its your first z you won't understand the cost of Zs and why the body is so important as you will almost always pay more to bring the body back to life than the car itself. Rear spoiler is shown in pictures but not included with car. Car has 2 spots left that need to be addressed. I was just going to grind that out and prep with por15 as that is covered by door seal. No need to waste 100 getting that cut and replaced. Selling \ trading my project to do something bigger. Car has had extensive body work done to it. Fuel cell in place, coil overs on all 4 corners, big brake upgrade for front desk, complete original interior, new bushings everywhere. Car will need a new hood prior to paint. Also comes with front air dam new in box from MSA. Work was started on dash to cover the side vents so that vintage air unit would blow from center only. Vintage air unit not part of the listing. The VQ motor is out of a 2007 NISMO 350z that had 22k miles. I personally drove the car and verified the miles prior to pulling. I pulled the motor as well and the harness is complete, the only wire that was cut goes to the brake controller. Also have the drive by wire gas pedal and the ignition with original key. Transmission is still connected to motor. All accessories are also still on the motor. McKinney motor sports sells the items needed for the swap (Drive shaft, engine mount, trans mount and shifter relocating bracket) for 1800. I kept the wiring harness complete so that I could use the existing NATS on the car. I would prefer a project I will be able to enjoy with both of my kids when wife's not around. Will consider trades 2 doors with 4/5 seats, No 4 door, nothing past 1986 and no rust buckets. Rolling chassis are welcomed if its the right one 55/56/57 no post rollers, nomad, hudson hornet, pontiac safari wagon and so on are welcome. I like classics a lot. I've done a lot of Zs and this was going to be my favorite one of all, but have to be practical at some point. I still have the donor car I pulled the motor from so if there is any other part you think you may need off of the car feel free to let me know. 1976 Datsun 280z was freshly painted 7-8 years ago by a professional shop. while it was repainted the motor was also rebuilt. the paint has a few blemishes (please see photos) the motor runs good and strong. the gas tank needs to be replaced it will clog so currently the car is not drivable but will start and run to get it on a trailer. just can drive long distances without the tank plugging up. the interior is mostly there just needs to be re installed. does not have front carpet and is missing door catches. the body is mostly rust free except the rear of the chassis rails need refurbishment. I have here a 1978 Datsun 280Z.Cars interior has been redone. New carpet. Reupholstered seats and barely used. New center console. 16x9 XXR wheels and brand new tires w/little stretch. Car runs well and hasn't given me problems for 2 years that I've owned it. All stock and no major mods, just a custom made air intake. Has after market front bumper/lip. Car will come with original stock wheels.The Car gives off a really strong smell of gas fumes when on. I'm guessing because its an older car. No radio. No A/C.There is a problem with the starter. The problem just appeared not too long ago. It won't start right away when you turn the key in the ignition. It will start up by the third or fourth time, but it WILL START. The exterior color is not the original color. Original color was orange because the engine bay is orange and the door jams as well.

The body is straight with no collision damage whatsoever that I can see. Car was stripped to bare metal and received a Very high quality Re-Paint some time in the past... including under the hood. It suffered some sun damage so I had just had it redone... it presents beautifully with only the most minor blemishes... specs you see in some of the pics are dirt not blemishes! The car is completely rust free... Frame and chassis are super solid!... retains its original undercoating! Driver side floor received a small gash from a jack or something... maybe 3-4 inches. no big deal and I will try to have that patched this week... just wanted to disclose it. Doors close tight and windows work nice. This is a beautiful Z car...Get's tons of looks and compliments everywhere we roll. The interior is fabulous as well... panels, carpet, and seats have all been custom done in blue and gray... super nice job and looks great... dash has full face cover. EXPORT NO PROBLEM! This is a really interesting and cool 1978 Custom 280Z in very nice condition all around!! This is an original West Coast low mileage Z that I purchased from an artist. He spent 100's of hours and lots of money customizing this car... see last 2 pics! I got it and didnt love the look but didnt have the heart to just paint over his work so I had the car dip wrapped with a material that can be easily removed if desired. The car turned out awesome!!... it looks runs and drives great with a nice blend of his work and my desired look! I will of course include his custom bumpers etc if desired. The miles are said to be original and backed up by the title. Unmolested and well maintained drivetrain and suspension. Has nice details and could be awesome weekend cruiser, daily driver, or addition to any collection. The body has no rust or collision damage that I can see. It was body worked to fill holes and smooth things but no major damage that I can detect. There are some imperfections and blemishes but overall presents beautifully. Has some mild custom touches... I love the look!! Passanger door opens with a custom mechanism... easily removed but its unique and kinda cool. I do have a set of fender flares and airdam that I was considering installing along with some jdm style custom seats but I like it as it is so maybe not. If it doesnt sell this week I may install those and raise the price accordingly. Frame, floors, and chassis are super solid!! New bronze 15 inch rims with nice tires. It's not a trailer queen... it's a driver! Get's tons of looks and compliments everywhere we roll. The interior is custom as well... panels, and dash have custom touches... carpet was replaced by custom rubberized matting. Seats are later model cloth Nissan... they are comfortable and in good shape.. they have multiple adjustments and nice support... they are blue and gray. I was going to have them dyed brown or black or replace with the racing seats so for now theyre just covered. Gauges, lights, and electronics all work properly, except the clock (of course lol) Nice aftermarket stereo and speakers. L28 motor starts idles and runs fantastic... sounds great through custom exhaust.. (I dont like the muffler placement so I'm having the redone this week.) 5 speed Trans shifts smooth and strong through the gears. Suspension is tight and provides excellent ride... brakes stop straight and sure. Strong, powerful, and reliable... freshly serviced and tuned... ready to roll.... definite daily driver capable. Overall this is a really cool Classic Z in great condition all around. Fun history and options. I am a Z collector. This one makes an Awesome Weekend Cruiser, daily driver, or whatever you like. Great for any enthusiast, collector, or anyone looking for a cool and unique Vintage sports car at a great price. The car is located in Beverly Hills California... Classic Z car has been professionally converted and customized... ready for daily driver, cruises, or local shows. All the custom work including body, interior, drivetrain, and suspension have been redone professionally. This Z is great all around. Looks, runs, feels, and drives awesome... FAST and smooth. Excellent weekend cruiser, daily driver, or addition to any collection. Body is straight with no rust or collision damage that I can see. Fit and finish are very nice. Driver quality custom repaint presents beautifully with minor blemishes. Seams and rubbers are great. Underside is clean with original undercoating. This is a driver!! Interior is in nice condition as well. Panels, carpet, and headliner all look great...Custom seats fit and feel great. Dash has a nice cover. Fully insulated, feels quiet and tight. Electronics work properly. Custom tach installed... speedo not hooked up but I'll try to take care of that this week. BEST PART... rebuilt chevy 350 V8 Motor starts, runs, and idles excellent... performance enhancements but built for daily driver relaiability, Super responsive and nicely tuned. Rebuilt 3 speed Auto Trans shifts smooth through the gears. Car has great street manners and is FAST!!!... Super fun to drive!! Sounds mean but not obnoxious through custom exhaust. Suspension feels tight and handles excellent. Goes down the road straight with no wiggles, shimmies, or shakes... Stops straight and sure. EXCELLENT, FAST driver. Thanks for looking at this beautiful 1976 Datsun 280Z. I am selling this car for my brother-in-law. He has owned the car since 2008. It has the fuel injected straight 6 with 4 speed manual transmission. Body is in great shape and paint looks very nice. Car was repainted at some point of time, but we don't know when. (You can see some tape line on molding around windows, so car was not taken apart to paint) There are 3 rust spots that I have noted. One in the driver door jamb on rocker. Two on the passenger outer rocker. (See pictures) New fuel pump & fuel lines in 2012 from car sitting so much and not being driven. Tank was also cleaned at this time. Nissan dealer also did a new master cylinder for brakes in 2012.Car also has brand new wheels to look era correct along with brand new tires. Less than 5 miles on them to drive the car home! Bridgestone Potenza tires 205/55R16 all the way around. Rear main seal and oil pan gasket were replaced back in 2008 when the car was purchased, but there is still a small leak coming from somewhere. Interiors is in very nice shape. Only issue I noted was material on sun visors has separated. Car can be inspected in person. Its located in Ocala, FL 34476.
