Please see my "ME" Page for other exciting cars of distinction on EBAY. 1983 Datsun 280ZX Turbo Description Motoexotica is excited to introduce our Gorgeous 1983 Datsun 280ZX Turbo. Know as the “Japanese Corvette” the 280zx Turbo was an engineering pinnacle, boasting powerful performance, wrapped in a sexy, smooth body design and an ultra comfortable interior, with almost no extra cost options, as they came loaded with features. Over the years the Z went from a small no frills little sports car, to a highly polished and powerful GT tourer. The turbocharged 280ZX used a single Garrett AiResearch TB03 with an internal wastegate, and no intercooler. Nissan’s design philosophy at the time led to boost being limited to 6.8 psi (0.47 bar), despite the lowered compression of the turbo engine (7.4:1 with dished, cast aluminum pistons). Additional changes over the naturally aspirated engine included a higher volume oil pump, an oil cooler on automatic models, and Nissan’s Electronic Concentrated Control System (ECCS). Series II and Series I. At the time of its release into the US market, the 280ZX turbo was the fastest Japanese import on the American market. Which brings us to our Z. The exterior is very nice. The body, refinished in the original Fox Silver base/clear paint, and reproduction “turbo” graphics have been applied in their original locations. The body is free from dings and dents, the doors, hatch and hood all fit correctly. All of the glass is clear and crack free. The body on this car looks fantastic and doesn’t show its age. Moving under the Z, the area where most Z cars suffer, you will find a VERY dry and clean bottom. The rails have not been crushed from lifting it on racks over the years, which is very common to see and weakens the structure of the Z. This is one of the most solid Z car chassis we have seen in a while! The interior is unbelievable! The factory grey Velour seats are present and hardly look as if they have been sat in. The door cards are clean and the vinyl is not cracked or split on the top door rail, where they are most commonly worn. The dash and center console are clean, and all the buttons, switches, and gauges look great. the factory silver face radio is not worn out, but does not work at this time. The grey carpets, even on the drivers floor board, are not crushed down, and dirty from years of entering and exiting the car. In the hatch you will find the carpet is not shrunken, and the luggage tie downs, and t-top bags are present. Original owner and warranty booklets included. In all this is a very nice 280Z. The value of these cars are increasing, and as the demand increases the amount of clean examples such as this will diminish, so call to schedule a viewing today. The Vin on the vehicle is JN1CZ04S0DX755518 and the miles shows 170,277 and is being sold with a clean and clear title. Get out and drive. We will not be responsible for buyer’s remorse or problems found to said vehicle once they have left our property. We are just being realistic; most of the cars we deal in are vintage and by their very nature will need TLC and some degree of attention sooner or later. These are not new cars and your expectation should not be of a perfect, new car. All you have to do is collect the car at your nearest port and enjoy! Please note that we are not a transport company and only offer this service as a convenience to our customers. You are more than welcome to arrange your own shipping. Transportation will commence only after final payment and signed documentation are received. The vehicle is available for inspection prior to bidding. If you are the high bidder and unable to inspect said vehicle before auction close, you or an agent will have (7) days to inspect said vehicle after the close of auction. I encourage a physical inspection strongly to avoid any misunderstandings or representations. All used vehicles should be assumed to have some degree of wear. No vehicle is perfect to everyone. Each vehicle has its strengths, styles, tendencies and shortcomings. Therefore, despite our best efforts to verify a vehicle’s mechanical condition, we are not able to warranty a manufacturer’s workmanship or previous owner’s diligence in care. It is for this reason that all vehicles are sold ”WHERE/IS, AS/IS”. We have described the above mentioned vehicle to the best of our ability. However, with all classic and exotic vehicles, the condition is subjective. Please be advised that no oral or written statements concerning any vehicle constitutes a representation or warranty of the condition of the said vehicle. INDUSTRY UNIQUE RETURN POLICY: If for any reason you receive your vehicle and have buyer’s remorse, are not happy with the vehicle or just don’t want it for any reason we will purchase the car back from you. We must be notified in writing of your decision to return the vehicle within seven (7) days of your receipt of said vehicle. It's time for someone else to finish this one. The car has been garaged since we have owned it. The engine runs but needs some work to be a reliable driver. Seats have been upolstered and car has been painted on the exterior. After market AC/Heater has been added (we have the old parts if the new owner wants them).

time to sell my 280z, its a base datsun 280zx two seat, straight 6 cylinder 2.8 litter which still works like a clock and 5 speed manual transmission which shifts good with no grinds or pops, clutch never slipped on me too, i've owned it since 2010 , before me master mechanic owned , and we both took a good care of her, it was my weekend driver so i barely made few thousand miles for last 5 years, last reported milage is 186000 , at the same time instrument cluster got fried and was replaced with used 5 digit metter with 81000 reading , now its at 83000. Original red color, God knows how many times it was repainted, last paint job was done in 2013 painted 209 toyota black metallic, along with wide body flares and massive bumpers and skirts. heres the list of new parts: spark plugs and spark wires done in 2010 oil pan gasket nov 2011 valve cover gasket nov. 2011 clutch slave cylinder nov. 2011 front light bulbs retrofitted with H1 compatible headlights 10k light xenon light bulbs and ballasts 2" wheel spacers alternator replaced apr.2013 seatbelt retractor mechanisms replaced with new GM rear 'KYB' shocks apr.2013 rear 'MOOG' spring coils apr. 2013 rear LED taillights third LED brake light installed new carpet reupholstered dashboard BFgoodrich radial TA tires nov. 2014 front KYB shocks nov. 2014 front MOOG spring coilovers nov. 2014 front stainless steel braided brake lines front inner +outer tie rod ends along with wheel alignment nov.2014 front brake rotors and pads dec.2014 new aluminum radiator front main crank seal new battery may 2015 new rear hatch weatherstripping new thermostat installed power locks and power trunk release viper 2-way alarm keyless entry (1 mile range, keyless entry, remote trunk) AC retrofitted to be used with 134A , and charged 700 grams nice alpine cd/mp3/USB radio two powerful alpine amps tweeters in the doors, 9x6 sony speakers behind the seats, two 10" subs its a local car, so it has no rust holes under , some minor surface spots , but nothing major. Unfortunately bodywork got few imperfections, few cracks , which are listed in the pictures . so it could use better bodywork and fresh paint, but even as is , car looks amazing and draw attention everywhere i go. Also, car does not equipped with power steering, but could be installed by swapping parts from the turbo model. i got over 10k in this one , and i know i will never get my money back out of it, but ill try to get close to this number, asking 7500 , please don't low b., i don't have to sell, I've enjoyed this car for last 5 years, sure can do it for another 5. thank for looking, have a nice day.

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 It’s with a heavy heart I’m offering my custom 1978 Datsun 280Z V8 for sale. I never thought I would let it go but I think it’s time. The car has never been in an accident. I have owned this car since 1986 and taken it through many iterations, this last one with the goal of building the ultimate streetable V8 Z car. The design paradigm was to build it the way a manufacturer would. Braided lines and AN fitting were only used in locations where it made sense for safety or plumbing expediency. All systems operate as they should, anyone who can drive a manual shift car can drive this car without thought to special concerns or procedures. Clutch is normal pressure and perfect bite point. Accelerator pedal is smooth with excellent control. Brakes are simply perfect. At car shows and meets folks often don’t even realize this engine didn’t come in this car. But those who know are always impressed with how natural it looks under the hood. My car has received top 25 five years in a row and various awards in area shows. This car is track proven and I have participated in many HPDE events with PCA at Lime Rock Park - every time the car was completely reliable. Maintenance is normal to any car, a list of part numbers and of what application they came from will make long term ownership easy as can be. Here are detailed descriptions of the car’s systems: Restoration Complete rotisserie restoration. All rust has been repaired completely with 100% welded in steel. Frame rails have been replaced with custom formed 12Ga steel and slightly longer to join with rear of the floor pan (rear of floor pan is thicker/stronger than the thin floor pan sheet metal). Body was then painted inside and out with rust preventive paint and inside coated with lizard skin sound deadening - then covered completely with lightweight insulation. Hood is lightweight fiberglass from Smooth Line. Body was painted with PPG two stage paint then wet sanded and buffed for a mirror finish. Driveline Engine is a 1995 LT1 that had only 12k miles when installed. Engine has GM Hot Cam kit which includes 1.6:1 roller rockers, special valve springs, light weight retainers. Throttle body is upgraded aftermarket (I forget whose, got it from Brothers Performance) Mass Airflow Meter is Granatelli. Exhaust is Hooker block hugger headers with Jet-Hot black ceramic coating. The rest of the exhaust is 2.25" through a pair of custom rebuildable glass packs then Y'd together into single 3" all Jet-Hot silver ceramic coated, ending with a Dynomax Turbo muffler and chrome tip. Transmission is Borg Warner T56 customized with 2003 Cobra output shaft with 5th and 6th gear ratio change to the performance oriented 0.79:1 and 0.63:1. Syncros replaced with carbon kevlar type and shift fork pads upgraded to custom machined bearing bronze. (FYI some bronze shift fork pads are actually inferior brass, I figured the only way to be sure is to purchase the raw bronze and machine them myself) Shifter is short throw Hurst with Mustang short shifter and classic round knob. Skip shift is programmed out. Differential is a rare R200 viscous limited slip only available in 88 300ZX Turbo with the ultra-rare 3.36 gears from earlier Z. Bearings were replaced with up-rated Koyo bearings (the Nissan specific pinion input bearing was replaced with new Nissan piece). Differential cover is the finned aluminum large capacity unit. Front Diff mount is "Ron Tyler" inspired with urethane mount and rear is customized mustache bar to raise rear of diff 7/8" for better drive line angle. CV Half shafts and Ross Tech adapters complete the drive-train. Cooling system is high capacity core on stock tanks. Electric fan was adapted to stock fan shroud. Dual speed fan system controlled by the PCM is retained. Suspension Complete Ground control coil over kit with camber plates in front. Struts are Tokico 5-way adjustable. All bushings are Energy Suspension Urethane with exception of strut rods which are custom fitted Heim joints. Anti-sway bars are vintage Bob Sharp Racing. Custom built strut tower stiffener. Rear suspension cradle is custom designed for stiffness and clearance of finned diff cover with addition of adjustability for rear toe. Steering rack is custom valved 15:1 Mustang power unit and has a nice feel with just enough power to make low speed maneuvers effortless. (if you’ve ever driven a Z with wide tires you know what I mean) Wheels are ARS 17x8 Cobra replica direct fitment - NO ADAPTORS or SPACERS. Tire size is 225/45R17. Brakes are Arizona Z Car's Wilwood kit with Wilwood rear proportioning valve mounted discreetly within driver's reach (just below left side odometer reset and dimmer control). These brakes are amazing. Lines are all stainless steel with performance Teflon braided flex lines and AN fittings. Exterior is stock appearing with subtle tweaks retaining the classic lines of the original Z car. The huge gawking 78 bumpers were replaced with NEW NOS 70 front and rear center section and rear ends are re-chromed. Gas filler door was replaced with a filler from 79 280ZX. Door handles and Z emblem are new. Xenon air dam, Hella H4 headlamps with 100w high beam and 90w Hella driving lights, horns are Hella also, turn signal and front marker lenses are clear. Interior is mostly stock with 95 Camaro seats, Auto Power rollbar, and custom rear harness/strut tower stiffener. Gages are stock with tach recalibrated to 8 cylinder. Speedometer is stock with custom driver and controller reading PCM speed signal. Original seatbelt and defogger indicators are customized to smoked out warning light indicators for oil level, coolant level, security key and seat belt. Original console switches are replaced with 5 Carlin units for Power door locks, driving light mode (on, on with high-beam, off), hazard flasher, rear defogger, and rear hatch release. The dash does have some minor cracks I never felt they were bad enough to use a cap and thought I would send it off to “Just Dashes” someday. Electrical systems have been completely integrated-- no cheesy splices or hack jobs. Wiring harnesses from the 280Z and donor Z28 were completely disassembled and brought together eliminating unneeded wiring and integrating systems with absolute minimum of splicing. Then the completed harness was wrapped in non-adhesive tape just like the factory would. All systems have proper connectors, weather tight where they could get wet. Fuse block is custom with ATC fuses. Battery is moved to back into a custom battery box/well. Sound system is Alpine head unit plays CD and MP3, Alpine 5 channel amp with two 8’ subs, two 4.5” mids in stock location and custom floating bullet mounted Infinity dome tweeters configured in tri amp configuration. Heat and Air Conditioning work great, AC is 134a with a combination of Nissan and GM, stock heater valve was removed and relocated to the engine compartment with a Mopar style unit from 4 Seasons. Terms of sale: Vehicle is offered as is , where is. All sales are final no returns. Payment terms are cash or bank check. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this listing at anytimeFeel free to contact me with any questions

1983 Datsun 280ZX Coupe, Non-Turbo. Last year of the 280zx! It's not a restoration! More a refurbished Z! Digital gauges work! It has 2.8Liter Inline 6 N/A, 5-speed, PW, PDL, PM (heated), Cruise Control, PS, PB, & T-Tops! T-Tops don't leak. I bought the car in April 2014 and am the 3rd Alabamian Owner! Paints decent, NOT show car quality by any means. New Gabriel Shocks and Struts, Tie Rod Ends, Ball Joints, Full Pro-thane Bushings (Red) Throughout Car, Rubber Strut Rod Bushings, Drilled/Slotted, Front & Rear Rotors, New NTB Brand Tires - 205/70/14, New Front and Rear Carpet/Floor Mats, Recovered Headliner/T-Top Sunshades, Repainted the whole Interior to Burgundy (Was Originally Red), AM/FM/MP3/USB Radio, New Exhaust from Engine to Dual Chrome Tips, New Wheel Bearings, New Stainless Steel Brake Lines, Some New Weatherstripping, New Aluminum Radiator & Polished 13psi Cap, New Water-pump/Thermostat, New NGK Plugs/Wires/Cap & Rotor, New Fuel Injectors with Seals, New Fuel Pump & Filter, New Belts, New Clutch Master/Slave Cylinder. Rear Diff/Transmission Oil Changed July 2015 It runs, drives and handles amazingly! Uses no oil, doesn't leak or smoke at all! It looks 100% better than it did the day I bought it! I have a clear, clean title!! There is no rust in the frame rails or underneath the car. The doors are solid and not droopy. I know the Air Conditioning doesn't work, front grille is there, (but there's a small part broken, but it's hard to notice), and the factory digital clock in the dash doesn't work either, Heater blows air, but it's warm, not hot (unsure of problem). Feel free to ask any questions? Reasonable offers accepted! I will not ship! The car is located near Huntsville, Alabama. I would feel 100% fine with driving it anywhere!

1983 Datsun 280ZX Coupe, Non-Turbo. Last year of the 280zx! I would say it's 97% originally restored. It has a few upgrades, but not many. It does, however, have the rare "Leather & Digital Pkg" option. Leather seats were beyond repair, but I found a super nice set of cloth seats from another 83. Digital gauges work exceptionally well! It has 2.8Liter Inline 6 N/A, 5-speed, PW, PDL, PM (heated), Cruise Control, PS, PB, T-Tops and the original bags they go in! It even has the original spare tire, jack and other parts that have been unopened. I've been an enthusiast of the Datsun Z cars since the 80's! I bought the car in April 2014, put less than 300 miles on it and drive it a few times a month. I have most of the receipts for the parts I've replaced, but I do have all pics on a CD. The car might as well be new, as much as I've done to it! PLEASE read this full list: New Gabriel Shocks and Struts New Bellows for Shock/Struts New Tie Rod Ends New Ball Joints New Full Pro-thane Bushings (Red) Throughout Car New Rubber Strut Rod Bushings New Drilled/Slotted, Front & Rear Rotors New Aluminum 2-Piece Rear Louvers New NTB Brand Tires - 205/70/14 Refinished Stock Wheels and Painted Them New Front and Rear Carpet New Floor Mats Recovered Headliner Recovered T-Top Sunshades Recovered the 3 "Hard to Find" Rear Trim Pieces Replaced the Old Cracked Dashpad, with a Much Nicer One (Still has a small crack or two) Has Dashpad Cover Has Optional Console Armpad Cushion Repainted the whole Interior to Burgundy (Was Originally Red) New AM/FM/MP3/USB Radio New Pioneer Speakers all 4 Custom Aluminum Stereo Surround New Exhaust from Engine to Dual Chrome Tips New White Paint, (It has a few blemishes/dry spots, but it didn't cost me anything) New Pin Stripes New Wheel Bearings New Stainless Steel Brake Lines Some New Weatherstripping Repaired Factory Power Antenna, with working factory half/full mast controller New Body Side Trim (Factory) All New Lights Glass is all original and not chipped or broken T-Tops don't leak. In October 2014, I had some bottom end engine troubles, but found another 83, that had a rebuilt bottom end (Have Pics). So, I used the stock head/intake from my car and the rebuilt block from the other car. Runs great, Oil 70+ PSI! Here's the New engine parts I've added: New Aluminum Radiator & Polished 13psi Cap New Water-pump/Thermostat Full cooling system flush Replaced 50/50 Green Antifreeze New Upper/Lower Radiator Hoses New Heater Hoses Some new Rubber Fuel Lines Replaced Some Vacuum Lines Replaced New NGK Plugs and Wires New Cap & Rotor New Fuel Injectors, with Seals New Fuel Pump & Filter New V-Belts New Clutch Master Cylinder New Clutch Slave Cylinder EGR Delete Full Set of Felpro Gaskets Engine Oil (10w30) was changed in November 2014 Rear Diff/Transmission Oil Changed July 2015 I have several extra hard to find/expensive parts that go with the car, such as: Another AFM, a pair of nice tail lights, the outer window door dew wipe thingys, several extra underhood relays, small misc parts, etc. It runs, drives and handles amazingly! Uses no oil, doesn't leak or smoke at all! It looks 100% better than it did the day I bought it! I have a clear, clean title for it and there is absolutely NO RUST in the car! Like I mentioned above, I have the majority of the receipts, but have misplaced some of them... You can look at the pics from then to now and tell what's been changed replaced. I do, however, have a ton of progress pictures, that I will put on a CD, for the new owner. I have various manuals that go with the car. As well as, the owners manual and dealer brochures. I know the Air Conditioning doesn't work, (as the compressor is locked up and one of the hoses has been removed). The front grille is there, but there's a small part broken, but it's hard to notice. The factory digital clock in the dash doesn't work either. Before you stop reading and think that's too much, just think of everything I've done to it and all the documentation I have? I'm being as honest as I can about the car. Remember, I'm an enthusiast and hate to sell it, but we need the money more than the car at the moment... This is a sound, totally rust-free, fun little car to drive, now that I've replaced everything on it! I know this car from top to bottom, front to rear, inside to outside! I'm being as honest as I can about it, as I believe these are the only issues that are wrong with it? The interior is 100% in tact, no missing pieces! Reason for sale: Wife and I need the money, more than the extra car at the moment. Feel free to ask any questions? Reasonable offers accepted! I will not ship! The car is located near Huntsville, Alabama. I would feel 100% fine with driving it anywhere!

These were iconic back in the day and remain fun cars to drive with a balance and flavor that seems to elude today's 2-seaters. And with only 20,849 original miles, this is a very desirable collector! This 280ZX gets just about everything right: great colors, a 5-speed, and it's a 2-seat version, not a 2+2 so the proportions are ideal and weight is manageable. Oh, and I should also mention again that it's led a very easy life with only 20,849 original miles (not a misprint) on the clock. Nice, right? The original paint is more than 30 years old, so you know it's not perfect, especially for 1980s paint, but the fact is that few cars this old have ever looked this good. White is pretty durable and easy to maintain, which probably explains the shine, and the fact that it's never been rusty or wrecked means that the sheetmetal remains in first-class condition. At some point it was upgraded with a Turbo hood and its cool offset NACA duct. Nice black rubber trim hasn't been oxidized by the sun and with red pinstripes on all the most important body lines, it looks sporty without being too extroverted. The red cloth interior is one of the better places to do the serious business of driving from the early '80s. The bucket seats are still firm and supportive, the upholstery is in excellent condition, and even though it's red, the sun hasn't faded it to some awful orange color. It's loaded with options including A/C (fully functional), power windows and locks, cruise control, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo, the latter of which is splayed out on a silver panel just ahead of the shifter. Clear, legible gauges, including the traditional trio of auxiliary dials in the center of the dash, are all in good condition and as with any sports car, a 5-speed manual gearbox is a welcome sight. The cargo bay is in good shape with only light fading on the carpets (inevitable with that big rear window) and it still has the tie-down straps for the removable glass T-tops. The 280 part of 280ZX stands for the 2.8 liter inline-six that powers this sports car, and it does a pretty good job of simulating some of the great sports cars of the '60s. Plenty of silky smooth torque means that the Z is a fun car to drive in traffic and it's an effortless cruiser on the highway with very good road manners. The engine bay, while covered in hoses, wires, and pipes, is remarkably clean and well detailed and it runs as well it looks. The slick-shifting 5-speed is a joy to run through the gear, matching revs with each downshift and listening to the burly exhaust note that could only come from a six. The 4-wheel independent suspension is agile without a punishing ride, and the 4-wheel disc brakes are powerful enough to easily scrub off the speed. It's not detailed underneath, but there's no doubt that this is a good original car. Handsome alloy wheels are almost completely unmarked and carry 205/70/14 white-letter radials that fit just right. With the way Japanese sports cars are appreciating, it's only a matter of time before everyone catches on to what fun machines these are. Buy now and avoid the lines, and capitalize on the appreciation.
