1964 Datsun Fairlady Rosdster needs a new home. The car is 99% complete with new top, new complete interior, new tires and brakes. The chassis is solid and ready for a POR15 coating which is included. I believe the engine, transmission, clutch and differential have all been rebuilt. 90% of the parts have been detailed. This car needs body work, paint and assembly. Frame doors and trunk lid are solid. Front fenders need some work but are not that bad. I just do not have the time. I also have the 3000 lb. capacity auto body rotisserie that the body is mounted on for sale. It has all the hardware for conventional and unibody mounting.

1970 Datsun 1600 Roadster (SPL311) Original condition Datsun Roadster with 97682 miles I purchased this 1970 model with approximately 97,500 miles. The car has been very reliable and I have enjoyed driving it. I believe that I am the second owner of this car. The previous owner stated that the miles were original. The external tape deck works well. Just had the car gone through by a local repair shop that specializes in classic cars. The following work was done Replaced brake master cylinder, rear brake cylinders, inspected, bleed adjusted. Replace clutch master cylinder, adjusted, bleed, tested clutch Oil, fluids, etc replaced All parts were new OEM unless unavailable Total repair cost were minimal for OEM parts, labor and misc. This is a fun driving vehicle that drives well. The body is in great shape with a few scratches. The interior is completely original including a repairable split in the dashboard and a few minor splits near the windows. The car does have a convertible top that I do not use is in storage. I have an assortment of spare parts.

Introduced in August of 1963, the home-market RHD cars were badged Fairlady 1500 while the American-market LHD cars were known as the Datsun 1500. This car has been meticulously and authentically restored to show condition. It has the dual carburetor 1.5L 4-cylinder engine rated at 85 HP, and 4-speed gearbox. The undercarriage and engine compartment are beautifully detailed. The paint and brightwork are superb. There are very few of these surviving and this car still has its original owners manual and Clarion radio. The odometer shows 83k miles, and the car rides on period-correct whitewall tires with wheels still sporting the original hub caps. A unique feature of the Fairlady is the side-facing rear seat to provide seating for three. This car is a real jewel that you can show with pride. For those of you who are not familiar with these Datsun 2000 Roadsters, this was Datsuns/Nissans very first sports car to hit American soil. Very few of these in left hand drive were built for the 1969 model year and these cars were built and brought here to compete with the MG's, Triumphs and alike cars but without the constant oil puddles one experienced with the European cars. Reputed as a bargain sports car, the Datsun 2000 was produced to help build the Datsun racing image up. With a lower price tag than any vehicle in its class, the 2000 won its class in C Production and D-Production, in SCCA racing on a consistent basis even after production was over. John Morton, Bob Sharp and several others raced the Datsun 2000,not to be confused with the Datsun 1600. 1969 DATSUN SRL311 FAIRLADY 2000 ROADSTER ORIGINAL U20 1982 CC ENGINE 135 H.P. Rare Datsun fairlady 2000 roadster. All original except for roll bar, and 4-point restraints. Good condition. Not running, needs alternator and rear brakes. hasn't been driven in 5 years. The alternator failed and I parked it planing on doing a small overhaul, which I never go to. The body and chassis are in great condition, there is a small amount of rust on hood and trunk under the paint. My mother was previous owner, not sure of how many owners there were previous. I have had it since 2003. It really is in good shape and ready for some one to love 'her'. It needs a small restore, however, its not far off from being a true head turner. This is honestly one of the funnest cars I have ever had the pleasure of driving. I know someone out there will be happy to have her.

Selling my 1969 Datsun 1600 Fairlady Roadster. Long time southern car, with fresh down to the bare metal restoration with a stack of receipts for recent engine work, parts and tires. Body off restored. New pads where body sits on frame. New floors installed as well as body insulation. Beautifully painted in silver of a very straight body. Body was stripped down to metal and minor metal work done, then primed in yellow urethane primer, blocked and then painted with 4 coats of base coat silver (PPG) and 4 coats of clear. Then block sanded and polished, the paint is stunning. This Datsun runs very well and combines the best of Japanese dependability with attractive styling. Converted to electronic ignition ($400) and with a new set of SU carbs ($909). Engine runs cool, has excellent oil pressure, all gauges function properly including lights and horn. Receipts in hand for new carpets, seat covers, miscellaneous chrome items such as inner and outer door handles, 4 brand new tires, new brakes, rebuilt master cylinder and slave cylinder, new pan gasket, new top, new fog lights. Clutch and transmission is excellent and shifts through all 4 forward gears smoothly as well as goes in reverse with no problem; brakes stop the car quickly and firmly with no pulling to one side or another. Newly replaced shocks, very nice driving car, especially with the top down. Charging system works and car always starts once key turns ignition. Car does have manual choke but it is not necessary to use to start the car. Car has the original tonneau covers. Original 1970 Datsun Fairlady 1600 Rally Roadster Beautiful Original late model 1970 Datsun 1600 Sport Roadster. Removable Hardtop, no soft top. She is in amazing example, in great condition. Only 59,600 original miles, rust/rot free example. Been continuously garage kept its entire life. Had a cosmetic restoration about 20 years ago by the second owner. 2 Owners from new. Great daily driver. Loaded with top options: Fully removable LeMans Hardtop with full rear side windows. MiniLit alloy wheels all around, new rubber, Period correct front driving lights. Tuned 1600cc Factory motor, 4 speed transmission, original stereo and more. The 1600cc 4 cyl engine with 97 hp in combination with the low weight of 875 kg makes this a really nice and sporty car to drive. Only 3400 LDH 1970 1600 were produced. The car is in a good strong running condition with some very minor wear. A rare very nice, sporty looking, driver with a Rallye look. She is a Factory US Model. Comes with a clean US title, vin number: SPL331-30009, a very late designation. Titled as a 1970. BACKGROUND & HISTORY The roadsters, especially the 1600, became regular winners on the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) circuit, winning 10 national SCCA championships. For the full story of Nissan's involvement, the race teams, drivers and cars, visit the Datsun Roadster SCCA pages http://www.datsun.org/fairlady/usindex.htm The 1600's were by the far the best roadsters Nissan produced. The old joke is that the Datsun roadsters were just MG rip offs. The punchline is that, unlike the MG, the Datsun roadsters kept their oil in the engine at night, not all over the garage floor like the Brit cars. Both Bob Sharp and Pete Brock of BRE were racing roadsters by the end of the 60's along with a handful of privateers. Nissan went so far as to set up an official competition department in the US to supply parts for the team's that were racing roadsters. Nissan/Prince combined speed shops were also instituted in Japan. The roadster, along with 410sss and 411sss Bluebirds, were the backbone of Nissan's rally efforts in Monte Carlo. Roadsters and their drivers have actually racked up quite an impressive number of racing victories, including several SCCA titles. By the time production ceased in 1970, 1600 and 2000 Fairlady Roadsters had been built. a few were titled as 1971 versions. This is one. The 240z was destined to replace the Roadsters as Nissan's "Flagwaver" marquee model. The roadster technology was getting old, as was that of most of its competitors. Within a few years, very few roadsters would remain in production as the GT style cars took over. The Roadster turns heads to this day, displaying a certain classic elegance that few other Japanese cars do. http://www.datsunroadster.com/INFO_PAGES/what_year.htm#FAIRLADY IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Vintage vehicles are used and display wear and tear. Beautifully restored, Bright Red, base-coat/clear-coat Fairlady with the legendary Nissan SR20DE double overhead cam engine and five speed manual transmission...engine and transmission are low mileage, apx 35,000. Engine internals are stock, but it breathes through a cold air intake and the exhaust is large diameter and free flowing. This car is absolutely rust-free and has just completed a ground-up restoration. Front suspension is completely rebuilt and tuned for street and track days...rear suspension stock and very solid. All chrome and rubber is new. Five tires are new and mounted on genuine Minilite wheels. New period-appropriate Speedhut instrument package. Volvo front disc brakes with braided steel brake lines. New rear hubs. I have the hard-top and soft-top for this car, but have never run it with either, preferring that it be a sunny day, dry weather, open car only. Roll bar just installed. This is the best looking, strongest pulling, best handling example of a Datsun roadster that I have ever seen. I bought the car last Spring in supposedly restored condition, and what been done was very well done, but it wasn't complete. Over the summer I had the suspension and steering rebuilt, instruments installed brakes upgraded, wiring completed, a remote oil filter installed, competition bushings installed on key suspension parts and a roll bar installed. It is now truly ready to go. This sale will take place in Portland, Oregon and will be cash or cashier's check only. Shipping, if necessary will be on buyer's account, but I am happy to facilitate shipping.

Up for sale is this yellow 1969 Datsun 2000 Fairlady Roadster with the 5 speed transmission and 2.0 liter motor. The VIN number is SRL311-08217. The car has 46,388 miles on the clock and the car starts without an issue. INTRO The car has been repainted yellow single-stage to allow for ease of touching up chips, etc. The car was intended to be used as a driver so the inevitability of chips was always there. The car hasn’t got any chips on the paint and the paint shows no signs of fading or wear. The car is garage-kept and it is kept under a cover while it is indoors as well for dust, etc. The car hasn’t been driven much since the “restomod” was completed. I finished it about a year ago or so and I’ve been performing little things to it as I had time – those small improvement included fuel lines, etc. Just haven’t had the time to drive it and my free time isn’t there anymore so I’m deciding someone else needs to get the pleasure from driving this sports car! INTERIOR The floorboards of the car didn’t have much rust beside surface rust; however there was a small section near the pedals that had rusted through and that was successfully repaired. The interior has been redone with new carpeting and the vinyl rear deck and rear upright panel as well as the quarter panel vinyl covers are all newly covered. The door cards are what I got the car with and they have been cleaned, but they are not the original Datsun panels. The floor mats are Datsun floor mats and the seats are also by no means original. Most of you are aware, but for the unaware individual, the seats are from a Mazda Miata. The seat belts are the 3-point harness variety, not just the lap belt. I added the option for the three point harness to make the car safer. This car accommodated both options, so no modifications were made to add the 3 point option. The dash is the original dash I got with the car and the top of the dash has been recovered by the PO, you can see the recovering in the photos I will post to the listing. The floordboards were sound-dampened with a dynamat-type soundproofing. The material used was zilla-mat (not Dynamat brand). The interior fan, heater, defroster all work like they’re supposed to. The radio works fine, but I haven’t fitted any speakers in any particular place yet because I was still planning on deciding what size I wanted to use and that would dictate possible location I could install them. The window seals and door seals are brand new. OPTIONS The car will include a roll bar that can be installed at the buyers option or simply just included for installation at a later time should the buyer choose to do so. The rear deck doesn’t have holes to accommodate the roll bar at this time, so it isn’t an eyesore if the roll bar isn’t in there – it’s a clean interior at this time. I will also include the tonneau cover I received when I purchased the car. There are a couple of small holes (no larger than nickel sizes) and one or two previous patched areas, but the cover is still a worthy piece to use when the small holes are patched. I’ll try include a picture of the cover. BODY The bodywork performed didn’t warrant a tremendous amount of rust repair however there was some attention needed at the jack holes and a small spot of the top of the cowl vent. The fenders were removed to POR the interior of the fenders for rust prevention. The wheel wells are painted the same color as the car and you should be able to see that in the pictures. The interior of the trunk is painted the same color as the car and the floor of the trunk is POR’ed for rust. There was a small crack by the one gas tank bracket that needed welding to prevent the tank strap from pulling through the trunk floor. The trunk latch has an emergency lockout release cable retrofitted to the underside of the trunk in the case you should lock your keys in the trunk and need to re-open it. CHASSIS The chassis was completely POR’ed and coated black gloss to help maintain a black finish that won’t turn grey from UV exposure (yea I doubt the UV will get to it but anyways!). The body pads were replaced with pads that won’t hold moisture to avoid the floorboard suffering rust due to trapped moisture. The horsehair was removed and replaced with a poly-lam type foam. The shock absorbers are in great condition and the ball joints and zerk fittings are greased. The leaf springs have been spaced about ¾” to help lower the read end a small bit to add a sense of level-ness to the car. Previously it had a stance where the nose sat much lower than the rear. The exhaust is wrapped in flame retardant wrap to reduce the heat on the floor pan by the driver’s feet and gas tank. The brake calipers were rebuilt with brand new seals and the hoses were all replaced. The master cylinders were rebuilt and work well. ENGINE The engine bay is painted with the car while the body was off the chassis so the colors match appropriately. The engine bay is clean still and doesn’t have grease and oil all over. The engine is painted the factory color. The VIN plate is still the original VIN plate and is faded, but replicas can be purchased easily. I simply prefer the original one to a replica so I never bothered to replace it. The engine has a brand new clutch kit installed and the timing components are replaced. The timing chains installed are brand new, but the gears are excellent condition used gears. The front timing cover has new seals installed and the engine has had the cylinder head reworked. The seats were replaced with updated seats because the old brass seats don’t fare so well with the modern ethanol fuel and don’t last long. The head was shaved 0.004” so the compression remains the same and no oversize gaskets, etc. are used. The head has a three-angle valve job and new valve stem seals. I have a brand new valve cover gasket that needs to be installed to cure a small seep around the valve cover. I can install it upon request, but it will be included in the listing. The fan is the 4 blade fan to reduce noise of the engine, but the 7 blade fan is included for the buyer should he/she choose to use/sell it. The car is fitted with BMW E30 horns that have significantly louder tone and improved tone to get attention when it’s needed. I have the original horn(s) that I’ll include but I don’t think they work (one might but I don’t know for sure). The fuel lines are completely replaced with steel lines to eliminate any rust issues from ruining the fuel system. Rebuilt fuel pump with brand new seals and valves. I upgraded the starter to a high-torque gear reduction starter to speed up startup. CARBS The carburetors are Z-Therapy rebuilt carbs and make the car run like a champ! The car starts without any issues! The engine originally had an erratic tune that I couldn’t track down until I replaced the carbs with Z-Therapy carbs that include their custom needles for optimum performance with nowadays fuel quality. THE BAD The car still has one small little fuel line connector that leaks slightly near the oil filter (it’s the connection that runs up from under the car up toward the hood latch). The right rear brake cylinder leaks slowly and the clutch slave has a small seep from the bolt that needs to be checked. It’s been rebuilt, but I think it has a crush washer that needs replacing. The transmission has a second gear synchro that I think is going out, but the replacement is included. The rear bumper has bad chrome, the chrome is peeling and the front bumper chrome is pretty good except for each of the very edges that have some rust about the size of two quarters. The front isn’t noticeable necessarily, but the rear bumper is noticeable. The chroming on the rear tail lights shows a bit of pitting, but the chrome is still reflective (see pics). The seal on the right A-pillar is torn and the left window channel is missing (the channel below the window seal is still there just needs the portion above the window seal). I think that’s about all I can think of to explain to you. Sorry if it’s a bit longwinded, but I figured rather too much than too little information. For more pictures of the project and the specifics, you can view this album: http://www.flickr.com/photos/61986249@N04/sets/72157626546773254/with/5639986464/ Ask question if you have any!!!
