This 1978 CJ7 Golden Eagle Jeep is in great condition and ready to sell. I originally purchased this vehicle from a seller down in Temecula, CA who refurbished some of the main parts (engine, Rhino lined body, paint, interior, etc.) and garaged it. It was registered in Oregon and would not pass California Smog. I bought a Holley conversion kit which switched it from carbureted to electronic fuel injection and then bought original spec'd exhaust components to comply with California smog restrictions. This car has passed and has a valid smog check certificate.

Description: This car is a legit 8 second street car. It has working lights and blinkers. Its titled and licensed with mufflers, etc. The car is 100% steel with real glass (not lexan) windows. The car weighs 2993 (wet) without the driver. This car has been driven and raced very little since the engine was rebuilt. The paint is 3 years old and the engine rebuild was 2 years ago. The build was completed slowly over the past 8 years with the majority of the parts purchased in the past 5 years. The car shows well with beautiful paint done by Mark House and full carpet, door panels, etc. It was entered in the Portland Roadster Show in 2015 where it won a best in class award. Performance: Without the benefit of a boost controller this car leaves the starting line very lazy and yet it can run mid 8's at over 170 mph. The best ET/Speed was last September at Woodburn dragstrip where it ran 8.30 @ 179 MPH. The next pass was 8.46 @176. With the addition of a boost controller this car will be capable of running in the 7's. 1987 Buick GNX: #294, Let Out of The Putnam Collection, Game Changer, ASC/McLaren Tuned. 1 of 547, Matching #s, 3.8L V6 Turbo w/ Intercooler, 2 Door Sedan, 4 Speed AT, Original Black Paint, 4978 Miles Original, Accident Free Body, Original Wheels w/ Goodyear Tires, 4th Owner from 1998 w/ Car on CO or MSO. I present my 1987 Buick GNX #294, a 1 year American icon, having come from Putnam's Leasing Collection in Greenwich, CT. and retaining its original Certificate of Origin (CO), aka Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) and includes original dealer invoice, a copy of the original window sticker and related owner's manuals and ASC warranty documents. The GNX was a game changer, the Grand National to end all Grand Nationals, simply the quickest production car offered in this country.... then. As the 4th owner since 1998, this car went thru the 1st 3 owners w/o being titled and has been garage kept and well maintained. I've driven the car on a few day trips such as to Mount Hood, Oregon out of San Francisco, California. I've dialed down the boost so as to prevent breaking traction and for safety... it'll need to be dialed back if you wish. All electrical features are working, the horn, turn signals, power windows, hi-low headlight beam and all instrument gauges. All side, front and rear glass are the original w/ the logo stamp clearly evident as well as all emblems and stickers located on the engine, door and trunk. The glass is essentially w/o nicks, chips and pock marks. When I detailed the body of this car upon purchase in 1997 the bare metal of the body could hardly be felt as it more typified the sensation of touching a pillow or cloth or an early Persian rug. While that may no longer be true it is possible to restore that luster it had given you've enough time. The body does have dust/dirt marks/swirls, small nicks, light hairline scratches here and there... nothing to be ashamed of unless you expect brand new paint. Maybe 2 or 3 3/16" dimples or smaller in the body but I haven't located them. The bumper fillers have discolored a bit as you see in the pictures from its original black. The 4 wheels are original and w/o curb rash while the original Goodyear Eagle tires are older w/ plenty of tread but not recommended for road trips or freeway use. The interior seat and dash has no rips/stains/tears or other defect evident. The underside is as clean as the interior. The AC blows luke warm but unless you're in the San Francisco fog you would never need it. A bit of loose foam may come out of the vents... due to aging of the foam rubber. It was long ago when I last saw the original spare and jack, which I can double check. I have both sets of the original GM keys that works the ignition and to lock and unlock the doors, trunk and glovebox. 1 early service invoice from Putnam in 1987 had the original owner complaining of no boost... on a brand new car at that. Servicing was performed to clean out the turbo or other per the invoice. I've kept the sheepskin seat cover over the driver's seat since purchase. Neither driver nor passenger door panels have come loose as seen so often. I've tried to put in a new higher CCA battery but the strap won't fit over the battery to secure it, so I've put in a new stock battery. No hat/jacket but I do have the book if you want that. Neither my steering wheel lock or disklok are included as I use them. Needing Attention: - The dash brake light comes on/off at times indicating a brake failure. This was due to the poor powermaster unit design and is attributed to needing an accumulator ball replacement or other. - The radio antennae snapped early in life and I've never replaced it. The antennae motor works as does the radio buzzing. - The hood struts are losing its hydraulics. Excuse me if I added a few pictures from years earlier in the mix. The power lineup starts with 305 horsepower, the output of the 3.6-liter V6 that propels the basic Challenger SXT, and now includes the new Hellcat V8, a supercharged 6.2-liter variant of Chrysler's naturally aspirated 6.4-liter V8. It's rated for a prodigious 707 horsepower, the most powerful passenger car engine ever offered by Chrysler and also the most powerful in the contemporary pony car corral. Engine options for the rest of the 2015 Dodge Challenger pale a bit in comparison to the Hellcat, but are heavy hitters in their own right: a 5.7-liter Hemi (372 hp) and the 6.4-liter Hemi, aka the 390 (485 hp). Chrysler's 8-speed automatic transmission is available across the board, and new to the Challenger inventory for 2015. It's the only transmission offered with the basic SXT model, while a 6-speed manual is available with most of the V8s. The sheetmetal surrounding all this power is new, but that's not readily apparent. Dodge has been faithful to the original Challenger styling, and that continues to be true of the redesign, with one proviso: the current Challenger was faithful to the 1970 original. The 2015 version is faithful to 1971. That model year, its second on the market, marked the zenith of Challenger performance, the final year with the option of 426 Hemi V8 muscle. The design distinctions between 1970 and '71 were subtle, and that's true of the 2015 update. The front and rear fascias have been restyled, a thinner split grille slot (this varies according to trim levels), deeper airdam, an LED halo surrounding the quad headlights, a bigger power bulge in the new hood, a new Shaker hood option, and LED taillights. But like the transition from 1970 to '71, the Challenger's 2015 profile is essentially the same as 2014. That's also true of the structure, although the rear axle housing is cast aluminum, rather than iron. And the retro theme is amplified visually by color choices drawn from the glory years, high-impact heritage hues, according to Dodge: B5 Blue, Tor Red, and Sublime. The last one is an electric green that's probably visible even in dense fog. There are also seven heritage-inspired stripe options. While the exterior maintains close ties to the early '70s, the all-new interior is a blend of retro design and contemporary technology. There are 14 different interior package choices. Highlights under this heading include a new 7-inch TFT cluster nestled between the tachometer and speedometer with programmable information via Dodge's Performance Pages feature; a new 8.4-inch touchscreen option with Chrysler's U-Connect telematics; driver selectable operating modes; a variety of performance tracking features; and a new rearview camera. An S3 card slot, auxiliary audio input and USB outlet are integrated into a new media hub housed in the center armrest. The front seats have been redesigned, with upholstery choices ranging from cloth to Nappa leather, and the option of heating and cooling for those clad with hides. There's also a performance seat option with heftier thigh and torso bolstering for the front buckets. Dodge claims more rear-seat legroom for the Challenger versus Mustang and Camaro, but this distinction seems academic. Essentially a two-door version of the Charger sedan, the Challenger is a big car by pony standards, and it's heavy, most models weighing more than two tons. The SRT and Dodge chassis engineers have done a commendable job of tuning the suspension to manage the mass, and the brake packages seem equal to arresting it from high speeds with minimal drama and zero fade. And of course 707 hp can do wonders when it comes to minimizing mass, an original pony car theory that still applies. We still revere the pony cars of yesteryear. Cars like Hemi Barracudas regularly command auction prices running north of the $1 million frontier. While the original muscle era produced some memorable power-to-weight ratios, the latest Challenger lineup, particularly the Hellcat version, puts them on the trailer. And in addition, the contemporary Challengers add a couple of capabilities that were all but absent in the originals: they'll stop and turn. The LED headlight halos surround new projector beam lamps, augmented by low-mounted projector fog lamps. The split LED taillamps are also new, and there are nine wheel options, including 20 x 9-inch forged alloys, and, top of the line, 20 x 9.5-inch forged alloys from SRT in three different finishes. An interesting Hellcat light variation substitutes air intakes for the inboard headlamps on each side. And the hood bulge is functional, with a pair of vents to exhaust hot air from the engine bay. All the Challengers have hood bulges of some kind, including the historic shaker hood, which, like the Hellcat's bulge, is functional. As noted, the redesigned sheetmetal echoes styling details drawn from 1971, rather than 1970, augmented by wind tunnel development, an element that really was essentially absent in Seventies design. Source: New Car Test Drive Driving Impression The Dodge Challenger press preview was held in Portland, Oregon, and included a half-day of driving on scenic but busy public roads along the Columbia River (summer tourist season was in full swing), plus some lapping at Portland International Raceway followed by drag racing exercises on the track's long front straight. We managed to log most of our limited seat time in one of the few Hellcat-propelled Challengers on hand for the public road portion of the program, and emerged with a surprising impression. The power is certainly there, in massive, guttural depth, summoned with very little pressure on the throttle. But for all that, once the driver has learned to suppress the urge to tap the seductive power so readily available, the Hellcat can be a docile everyday ride. We should add, however, that resisting the Hellcat's massive thrust requires serious discipline. We found the Hellcat makes extraordinarily short work of two-lane passing opportunities, but we waited for the track to open the throttle all the way. Portland is a flat circuit with some very fast stretches. Indy cars race there, and even with a chicane two-thirds of the way down the front straight the Hellcat builds speed at a heady rate. The suspension engineers have done a good job here; the hottest of all Challengers corners well, and if the electric power steering could be a little more tactile on center, it's quick, accurate, and nicely weighted as speed builds. Braking with this package is powerful and fade free, via a set of massive Brembos, but the most impressive element, after the engine of course, is the 8-speed manumatic. In track mode it hammers home shifts in milliseconds, far faster than would be possible to duplicate with the 6-speed manual. While the Hellcat Challenger handles well enough, far better than its 1970s ancestors, it does share one key trait with the originals: it shows to best advantage at the drag strip. Engage launch control, tramp on the throttle, and the Hellcat is capable of getting through the quarter-mile lights in less than 11 seconds, squashing the driver into the seat bolsters and stretching facial muscles into a big grin. This is serious hustle for a production car. And like its forebear, it's capable of shredding its rear tires in short order. The Hellcat Challenger is capable of almost 200 mph (199), according to Dodge. Our limited seat time didn't give us an opportunity to verify this claim. But we believe it. The 2015 Dodge Challenger offers a choice of engines: The 3.6-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 produces 305 horsepower at 6350 rpm and 268 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm and is EPA-rated at 19/30 mpg City/Highway, or 23 mpg Combined. The 5.7-liter 16-valve pushrod Hemi V8 is rated at 372 hp at 5200 rpm, 400 lb-ft at 4400 rpm and gets an EPA-rated 16/25/19 mpg City/Highway/Combined with the automatic transmission. The 6.4-liter 16-valve pushrod Hemi V8 is rated 485 hp at 6000 rpm, 475 lb-ft of torque 4200 rpm and gets an EPA-rated 15/25/18 mpg. The 6.2-liter supercharged and intercooled 16-valve pushrod V8 is rated at 707 hp at 6600 rpm and 650 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. Source: New Car Test Drive Interior Although the general shapes of the Challenger's redesigned dashboard pay tribute to the original, forget the hard edges and plastics of yesteryear. The new dash and instrument panel are upholstered in far more civilized material, with lots of soft touch surfaces and very little reflectivity. More important, the instrument binnacle and dashboard are equipped with 21st century electronics, telematics, and infotainment, as distinct from the mechanical instruments of yesteryear and infotainment that could be summed up under one heading: AM radio. The new speedo and tach are analog-style electronic, there's a 7-inch thin film transistor (TFT) digital info display between the major gauges, and a new 8.4-inch touch-screen display option that's home for navigation and other systems. This includes the Performance Pages data that goes with the Fast Track Pack option, allowing the driver to track acceleration, braking, grip, and a vast variety of other performance metrics. The center stack display in the base Challenger SXT is a 5-inch screen. The seats are new for 2015, offered in several styles and upholstery materials, ranging from mildly sporty to raceworthy. SRT Challenger models are tricked out with a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel and aluminum shift paddles when equipped with the 8-speed automatic transmission. A robust Tremec 6-speed manual is available with all the V8 engines, but the automatic's response times in track mode are race-quick, far faster than the stick shift. A bewildering variety of features and options are available for the Challenger buyer, covering infotainment, connectivity, furnishings, and style, not only from the Dodge inventory of standard and optional features, but also from the vast array of goodies available through Mopar, Chrysler's in-house aftermarket supermarket. Opportunities for personalization are rich. The Hellcat comes with two keyfobs, one red, one black. The red one unlocks the full potential of the supercharged engine. The black one is the fob you hand to valets and/or your kids. It removes some of the temptation for excess by limiting engine output to a mere 500 horsepower. That's an element of retro that doesn't translate: 500 horsepower would have made the Challenger king of Woodward Avenue in 1971. In the surprisingly persistent realm of muscle cars, the Hellcat raises the ante, delivering competent dynamics and immense power for a relative bargain price. It's docile enough for everyday driving, provided the driver can resist the omnipresent temptation of the throttle. But its true reason for being is the race track, in particular the drag racing track. The 2015 Dodge Challenger offers a broad array of power choices, handsome interior options, and sophisticated electronics, wrapped in slick sheetmetal that's faithful to the Challenger's glory years. Then again, with this lineup, the case can be made that the Challenger's glory years are now. After the inspection is complete, they call me with the results. I then either do the repairs and put the vehicle up for auction, or if the problems are too numerous, and it looks like she's going to be a problem vehicle, I liquidate the vehicle at a local auction. My repairs average about $400.00 per unit. Please understand that we are not in the vehicle restoration business. I don't replace every teeny tiny part that is not brand new. A prime example of Jaguar's very comfortable, sporting four-speed V12 2+2 coupe. This early production, high compression Series 3 has had only two previous owners, and had been carefully stored by the second (lady) owner for 25 years. Prior to my ownership, the car was last registered in 1987, and is original in almost all respects, and is a remarkably well preserved example. The first owner sold the car after nine months to the second female owner. She drove the car for business and pleasure for about 15 years, when (so her husband tells me) she purchased a Primrose E-Type roadster. At this time, the engine, clutch and transmission were rebuilt by well known Jaguar specialists Consolidated Auto Works in Portland Oregon prior to the car's storage, and since then has only covered 200-300 miles. Finished in it's factory Pale Primrose with Beige leather interior, the car has been garaged from new and is entirely free of rust or any rust repair. It is all original on the inside except for new headlining and floor mats. The bonnet of the car was refinished by the previous owner because the factory lacquer was cracking, but the remainder of the paint appears original and in very nice condition. All chrome is in very good condition, and the eagle-eyed will spot the original equipment wiper arms and the early production straight handbrake. The headlights, rear lights and other lenses are the original 1971 Lucas items, and the exhaust is the original BL unit. The quad fantail has obviously been replaced in the last few years, and the sound is, as someone put it, "race bred and exotic". All electrics work, including gauges, turn signals, hazard warning etc. as does the air conditioning, which blows cold. The car has great oil pressure, and the gauges show the electrical system charging properly. Just like my Mk2 and 420, this Jaguar does leak a little oil, but certainly does not burn any as the engine is in rude health and has plenty of "go". The car's suspension has also been rebuilt in the last couple of years with new bushings and Koni shocks. It is tight, and tracks straight as an arrow down the street. The brake master and clutch master have also been replaced within the last 12 months. Dunlop tyres are nearly new, and the spare is the original 205 SP sport. The fuel tank is in great shape, and the gauge reads accurately. Coolant changed every 2 years with proper Ford Motorcraft green coolant, distilled water, and Ford diesel additive even when driven little. No exhaust leaks. Sounds fantastic with absolutely no odd noises or issues! Truck has never had an aftermarket tune installed or been beat on like most. Even air intake is stock and original. Has no problems starting in cold weather either. It is very powerful and sounds great. Most of these trucks don't drive as good as they look, this one absolutely does! It is more powerful than most of the 7.3's I have driven and very tight. It does not wander and tracks down the road very well, smoothly, and quietly. I have owned 19 Super Duty 7.3 Powerstroke diesels over the years, and unfortunately 3 6.0 and 6.4's, 2 V10's (horrible engines!!), and quite a few Lightnings, and this truck runs, sounds and drives better than most of them, honestly, plus doesn't cost a fortune to maintain like the newer diesels. It is simple and easy to maintain and does not have tons of sensors like the new ones that go out and are very expensive to replace. Comes from the factory with no catalytic converter, no diesel particulate filter, and all the other power robbing, expensive to maintain items on the 03.5+ diesels!! You are basically looking at a near new truck for 1/4 the price (comparable truck actually $75K+ for a new junk diesel, and no manual transmission available!!) of a comparable new one with out all the issues of the new ones.  Truck is meant to be driven and enjoyed. It drives and tows VERY well. No hesitations, back-fires, pops, squeaks, and is not all over the road like most others for sale. Looks, drives and feels like a newer truck. You will not find a nicer 7.3 Powerstroke with a manual transmission for the money!! The suspension is responsive and tight, steering is tight, and transmission is tight with no slippage or grinds. Never has a tuner on it and never towed anything other than a 5500 lb travel trailer a handful of times. Brakes are adjusted properly, and it stops very well and straight. Does not wander, shimmy, or have wind noise, even at 85 MPH on the freeway. There is not a nicer, low mileage, best year 7.3 Powerstroke out there for this low of a price anywhere! Never abused and was never a daily driver (even when new it has been a multiple owned vehicle). All work has been professionally done on this truck since new. Has been garaged its whole life and babied. It is very powerful, reliable, and nothing has been overlooked for longevity, tastefulness, and durability. Both original keys/ alarm remotes and tool box key. 2000 was the last year of the forged engine connecting rods too. You won't find a nicer truck for the price, anywhere. If you are still reading, Thank you, you are the one that will probably buy this truck, so keep reading... :) You are better off getting one of these trucks that have been driven, properly broken in, and properly maintained than one with super low miles that has not been properly stored or has dried up seals because of incorrect storage and maintenance. Nothing leaks or seeps on this truck (even rear main seal doesn't seep) and it burns no oil. Starts right up, first time, every time. Idles smoothly with nice deep exhaust tone. No hesitations. Very smooth power. Gets great MPG too, 18+ MPG in town, and 25+ MPG on the freeway driving easy. Brakes front and rear are firm and are power assisted 4 wheel discs. Power assist works as it should. No shimmies, squeaks, or pulls when you step on the brakes. Parking brake works perfect. Fresh Motorcraft 75-140 synthetic fluid with friction modifier in differential. U joints tight (replaced at 130K when clutch and ball joints done, all of which done due to time, not because any of it was really needed).  Transmission fluid also just done and look like new inside. Both cooling system green coolant and distilled water/Ford additive new. Brake fluid also flushed and refreshed and when brakes were inspected recently, they were still at over 80%. As I said before, ALL fluids and filters have always been changed well before needed and in reality, this truck has been over-maintained!! Ashtray and cigarette lighter never used, not even for coins or junk to mar the ashtray! Cup holder is not broken like most and pops out of dash correctly. No rattles or wind noise!! Truck will seat 5 comfortably and rear seat back folds up for extra storage in the cab. I know I keep saying it, you will not find a nicer 7.3 for the money!! Look at the undersides on others for sale (if they even have underside pictures) they are usually rusty, oily, and filthy ( and sometimes people even spray can them all over the hoses, bolts and floor pans!!!), interiors worn and dirty, worn seats, beat up beds, and the engine boxes look awful with all aluminum corroded etc etc. Please take the time to look at my 100+ pictures and you will see the difference between this truck and the others out there for sale. You DO get what you pay for in this case!!  Amazingly clean from top to bottom. No surprises or disappointments with this truck. Original Oxford white clearcoat paint shines like new and has been waxed regularly and always garaged. Much more durable than today's water base paints. Look at the reflections. Never been put on a lift incorrectly, never been bottomed out. Door jambs, engine box, wheels, underside, and bed also kept clean and waxed. Look at the underside and frame rails. Many original markings still present along with several original stickers. Never a bent body panel, floor pan, or frame rail. All original Ford Carlite tinted privacy glass including windshield which has no chips or cracks. No dents, or large scratches anywhere on the body.  There are no dents, or repairs on the body, just a few dings and paint clearcoat issues in a few spots as shown in the pictures. Looks and drives like a 20K mile truck. The truck is nicer, drives much better, and way better maintained and kept detailed over any other 7.3 out there in this price range. Again, please take the time to look at the 100+ detailed pictures. Truck is very clean through out and a thrill to drive. More reliable and durable than all the new diesels out there with out all the maintenance nightmares of the new ones. No automatic transmission to worry about going out. Google the 7.3 Powerstroke and you will see that they are considered the BEST diesel ever put in a truck! I know these 7.3's well as I have owned quite a few over the years. Look at the others out there for sale, they don't compare to this one at all. You get what you pay for.  Ask questions if you have them if you are serious, I am very easy to deal with.  Truck is VERY clean top to bottom. Horn, power windows, and power locks work perfect. Sony stereo and speakers sounds great. All lighting in cluster and on switches works perfect. All power options work perfect. Power windows smoothly glide up and down smoothly with no clunks or skips. Power door locks work like they should. 2 keys and 2 remotes. No wind noise or leaks when truck is washed. Doors close tightly. Speedometer works perfect and doesn't bounce or stick like most. All gauges work perfectly and are accurate. All lights work both interior and exterior. Truck just turned 135K miles, which is just breaking in for a well maintained 7.3. Many of the miles on this truck were from being towed behind a motorhome too, where truck was not under its own power, but miles kept accruing as all 4 wheels were on the ground. Last oil change done a month ago. E load rated 10 ply tires have plenty of life left ( I'd say about 50%) and are Goodyears. These 7.3 Powerstrokes are well known to be the best diesel ever installed in a truck and are often called the "million mile motor''. With proper maintenance there are quite a few out there with even more than than 1 million miles!! Ford has not been able to produce a diesel since even close to a 7.3, and the others (Dodge and GM) may have OK diesel engines, the trucks that the engines were in can't seem to stay together!! All lock cylinders are original to the truck and work smoothly with no binds. Look at how well all the body panels and windows line up!! All original trim, weatherstrips, lights and emblems are in nice condition and not faded or deteriorating like most others. This is not a clean up and sell, everything is as correct as possible and has been since new. Care, thought, a huge amount of time, passion, and attention to detail is present on every aspect of this truck and has always been babied, detailed frequently, and waxed often. Always kept indoors when not in use. Very hard to find combo too, with the long bed, 6 speed manual transmission, and supercab , so it's perfect for hauling things while still easy to park and maneuver while taking the whole family not only in comfort, but know you will get there. The nice ones have gone up 60% in the last 6 months. People consider the 7.3 Powerstroke to be the best diesel ever installed in a truck in the history of trucks!! The nice ones will keep going up in value when in the condition and desirability of this one. Remember, you get what you pay for, this truck does not need ANYTHING!! The paint and color combination is simply stunning and the options make it a pleasure to drive and it turns heads where ever you go. No excuses, issues, or stories.
