This is an original '78 Corvette Indy 500 Pace Car. It has the original matching numbers L-82 engine and automatic transmission. It's a project but highly worth restoring. I bought the car from the original owner in 2013 and I have a copy of the original title. This Corvette has been a New Mexico desert car its whole life so there's absolutely no rust, even surface rust is minimal. The frame is totally dry and straight. Of course, since it's a desert car the paint and interior are sun-beaten so it will definitely need these cosmetics. The body has never been hit and still has the original lacquer paint, which is not in horrible condition but has the usual lacquer checking. The interior is in very bad shape and will need new carpet, dash pad, door panels, seat covers, etc. The original engine has a very loud knocking sound and will need to be rebuilt. I thought it might be in the TH-350 transmission so I had the transmission professionally rebuilt but that didn't stop the noise so the engine need a rebuild, but the good news is that the original transmission was completely rebuilt. This Pace Car still has its original Pace Car specific blue tint T-tops (no cracks) and aluminum wheels. The tires are older Goodyear Eagle GT+4's, but they were not driven on when the car was put in indoor storage years ago, and the rubber is soft and there's no dry rot. This Corvette definitely needs a lot of work, but it's a matching numbers L-82, it's never been hit, it's a dry desert car, and it's complete and unmolested so it's worth restoring! It even has the Latch system for car seats in all three spots in the back, so if you have a car seat you can put the baby in the middle and adults on the outside (I found this especially handy). The backseat is incredibly roomy, and the leather is easy to clean and maintain. I would have no problem selling this one to a friend, the only reason I'm selling is that I need a daily driver for a round trip of about 4 miles, and sometimes I take several small trips a day which means parking it several times. It fits in one standard parking spot (without going over the lines), but takes some effort to do that. I just need something smaller, but I can't afford to keep it and get a smaller car. If you want to take long trips pulling a 5th wheel camper or the like, this is the truck for you... it will pull anything with ease, and you will be amazingly comfortable with the Laramie luxury!I also got the question last time from someone who wanted to pull a toy hauler how tall it is from the ground to the top of the tailgate. With the tailgate up, it's 58 3/4 inches (just under 5 feet) to top of tailgate measured on level ground.This is a well priced truck, ready to sell, and I will help you any way I can. For sale is my 2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V. My father-in-law bought it brand new and gave it to my wife when we got married 3 years ago. Runs perfectly. It has always had a little bit of trouble starting, even brand new off the lot. Sometimes you have to turn the key twice or turn off the A/C and then start it. But it always starts. It has a 2.5l inline 4-cylinder and a 6-speed manual transmission. Never had any mechanical problems. No engine leaks. A/C blows cold. Goodyear Eagle GT tires with 20000 miles on them. Interior is in very good condition. Power windows, sunroof, locks, mirrors, steering. Tilt and cruise control. Full size spare tire on 17" matching rim. The automatic feature on the driver's window doesn't work. The sunroof doesn't always stop in the locked position so you have to manual push the button until it is fully closed. Has the factory 9 speaker 300 watt Rockford Fosgate audio system with an 8" subwoofer. Has a Torsen limited slip differential. Very fun to drive. Never been raced. I usually get 26-31 mpg.
