It offered a number of technological improvements over the outgoing 348. Starting with the new 3.5-liter engine that had five valves per cylinder, which allowed better intake performance. Other improvements included a new engine management system, and a larger more sophisticated exhaust system. With a top speed of 183 mph, and a 0–60 mph time of 4.7 seconds, it was considered a properly fast car in its era. In 1995, Ferrari introduced the GTS model to the F355 family. The GTS model was based on the Berlinetta but offered a removable "targa-style" hard top roof, which could be stored behind the seats. A total of 2,577 GTS models were produced, with 2,048 delivered with the 6-speed transmission and only 529 delivered with the F1 transmission. This was the last GTS targa style model produced by Ferrari. In 1997, Ferrari launched the 355F1. The 'F' was dropped from the model designation for this model, presumably because F355F1 sounded a bit redundant. The F1 gearbox is not an automatic transmission. It is a manual gearbox complete with clutch, which is hydraulically controlled such that moving the up or down shift paddle carries out all of the same actions as in a manual car, except it is controlled by computer and is done in around 150ms. It is a long time California car finished in Argento Nurburgring silver over a Nero black leather interior. This car remains in excellent condition throughout, showing only 13,623 original miles on its odometer. The engine-out major services always went well beyond just replacing the belts. The third engine-out major was performed in 2012, therefore the next engine-out major (based on a 5 year interval) is due in 2017. Pristine condition with the only notable exceptions being a bit of wear starting to appear on the driver’s side seat bolster, a scratch into the base coat on the front bumper (lower driver’s side corner) that happened when the car was transported, and a scratch in the clear coat on the passenger side headlight cover that was there when I received the car. Included in sale are all three original keys, genuine Ferrari car cover, tool kit, manuals, etc. The Michigan title is clear and in my name. Ultra rare and desirable, very early 1995 F355 GTB. 100322 was manufactured in late 1994, and was one of the first F355s to arrive into the United States. Originally ordered new by noted collector and founder of the Yankee Candle company, the late Michael Kittredge. This Berlinetta resided with a collection of early, Enzo era Ferraris including a 250 GTO and many other rare and priceless models. Kittredge took fastidious care of this GTB, and kept complete service records from the time of delivery to its eventual sale to his friend, collector racer and dealer, Bobby Rahal. This car is a great driver. All service issues have been addressed, so you can drive it for another 5 years without worry. I’d describe it as a three-footer, it’s still that good after 20 years and 55,000 miles. These cars are known to go well over 100,000 miles easily. The Berlinetta is the model to have if you’re a true sportscar enthusiast. The rigidity of the structure provides the finest driving experience, with none of the shakes and rattles of a convertible, as well as the true beauty that Pininfarina designed. Note that the side markers have been eliminated, as well as the airbags, replaced by a European steering wheel and a smooth dash. If you decide this is the one for you, I’ll help facilitate shipping with your shipper. If you wish to have any of the niggles addressed, I’ll help with that too, just don’t ask me to pay for it, as I’ve priced the car according to its present condition.
