My Dad and I have owned this car for the last 10 years and have loved it. However, I am now making minivan payments so the fun car has to go. 5-Speed Fiat 2000 fuel injected Spider 124 with an older restoration, but still in great shape. The paint and interior restoration was done prior to us owning it, approximately 12 years ago we estimate (based on the age of the paint, etc). However, it still looks and runs great. Has everything original, numbers match everywhere, etc. I drive this daily, no leaking issues or anything. The top has no holes in it, and while it's 12 years old, the vinyl on it is in great shape and could probably easily go for another 5. No visible rust. This was primarily a California car but spent a brief time of it's life in Wisconsin. It was never driven in icy / wintery conditions and has been garaged every day since we've owned it. Over the years we've spent $5k or more on miscellaneous fixes. The most expensive was probably a head gasket replacement about 5 years ago, but it's ran great since. Nothing went un-repaired for any period of it's life while we owned it. The tires have excellent tread, probably almost near-new, as I had them replaced a couple of years ago but I only put 2000-3000 miles a year on the car, if that. It starts up in a quick hurry and the engine is very strong/quick. The clock on the dashboard never worked, and the Fiat mechanics have all said to expect it on this model, so it was probably the only thing not gone through. There's a small exhaust leak towards the muffler making it sound a little louder than normal. The radio was hooked up wrong, so at the moment it doesn't work. This is admittedly my fault. The previous radio was an aftermarket casette player which worked great. I tried to upgrade it [myself] to a CD player - and well, I can't figure out exactly how it's supposed to connect in. I was going to fix it by going to a Best Buy or a stereo store who probably knows how to wire such things. The seats do have small tears but the carpet is very clean. Overall, the car is very clean in and quite a nice driver. It hasn't had an accident that I'm ever aware of and other than a few nics on the paint there's not a bunch of annoying door dings, etc. The paint was done at a pretty good quality shop I believe, no orange peel, etc. The heater works great. The ride is nice and the brakes are fairly new. What else? Ask and I'd be happy to answer. I'm sorry to give this one up. This was my fun car. :-(

This is a good driving car with no rust. Very fun to zip around in on the weekends and have fun with family and friends. Not a show car, has the usual amounts of dings and scratches one would expect on a normal car that is 31 years old. Was repainted red at some point in it's life and has been a joy to own for about 7 years. I have replaced numerous parts over the years and really am sorry to see it go. I just don't get the chance to drive it anymore and would like to see it go to an owner who would appreciate it. Please contact me with any questions.

For sale is my beloved Fiat Spider. I bought the car about 2 years ago as a project. I've invested about $2000 in it since I purchased it and there are many, many new parts. It was my daily driver last summer and I came to love it very much. I attend college in Detroit, so I had to mothball it this winter. It ran very well until the day before I left when it started lurching and dying. I didn't have time to find out the problem and I certainly won't be able to this summer, so rather than see it sit and rot I'd like to find it a good home. My folks are awfully antsy about slimming down the number of cars that we have, so I'm selling it pretty cheap. It's got about 96,000 miles on it if I remember correctly, New pinpoint vinyl soft top, new center console cap, new tires, new starter motor, new ignition switch, recently redone 4 wheel disk brakes and much much more. The interior is in pretty nice shape with custom altered seat covers (the original vinyl on the drivers seat is torn, but the passenger's is perfect) the stereo works, even the clock functions (Spiders rarely have working clocks). It needs body and paint work, there is a dent int he rear end that is not shown, I'll update with pictures tomorrow, but the frame is still solid. I loved the car to death, and I hate to see it go, but it needs a new home with someone who can continue my work. It's definitely a project ar and will bo sold as is. I'd like to get $1,000 out of it, but I'm flexible on the price. I want it gone quick. Message me with any questions or if you'd like to see more of the car.

1982 Fiat Spider 2000 Convertible I purchased this car in 1991, and have driven it less than 20,000 miles in that time. The car is stored every winter, and is only driven during the summer months. It is in good condition, but is not perfect. I'll do my best to give an honest description of it's condition, both good and bad, so there are no surprises. In 2000 it was involved in a minor accident, and suffered some rear end damage. The frame was not damaged. The rear bumper tubes, the rear valance panel, and the lower panels on both rear quarter panels were replaced. Since it was going in for repairs anyway, I also replaced the rear wheel arches with new metal to get rid of some rust. At that time the entire car was repainted with the original color. It has been garaged since that time, and the new paint has never seen rain. There is a small dent below the mirror in the driver's door (see photo), and there are a few nicks in the paint. The transmission has been replaced with a used transmission. Synchro's are good, and shifts smoothly. Rear differential was replaced with a refurbished unit from International Auto. All four brake calipers and front rotors have been replaced. Not much has needed to be done to the engine, other than a valve adjustment a few years ago. It does drip a little oil, but what do you expect for a 32 year old car. The driver and front passenger seats have been reupholstered. The convertible top was also replaced. The carpet is worn. The dash is cracked in two places (see photo), which is pretty common for this model. The center console has a few small cracks as well. The sun visors should probably be replaced. The inside padding has disintegrated, and is coming out as a fine powder. A set of new visors can be purchased on eBay for around $135. The clock keeps time, but the time adjustment knob doesn't work (have to disconnect the battery to set the clock). The driver's door lock does not function. All other locks work as they should. Skid plate, splash guard, a few miscellaneous spare parts, car cover, and the Clymer Shop Manual are included. Delivery is not included, and must be arranged by buyer.

Up for sale to a good home is this 1982 Fiat Spider convertible. This has been my baby for 17 years and it shows when you see the car. This car has always been garage kept and has not driven in bad weather. I purchased the car in 1997 from the 2nd owner. It has a little more than 70,000 miles on it of which I put 40,000 miles during my ownership. It has all records from time it was sold new until now. No expense has been spared for this car over the years. The best way to describe the car is by category which I will list as follows: The body is excellent. I had the entire car painted in 1999 and it had 51,000 miles on it. It had some rusted rocker panels and some trunk damage. I replaced the rocker panels and the trunk and had the entire car taken to the metal and redone. Other than the rust on the original rockers the car has no rust. The shock towers are excellent and the trunk is the same. Under the hood is the same with no rust on body. All rubber on bumpers, chrome tubes, lights, tail lights are super nice. The wheels are the original 14" Cromodoras and have been repainted and clear coated. There is one small chip on fender on drivers side but it is very small. The transmission was taken out and rebuilt in 2001 with 59k on the odo. The Fiats would loose the synchro sleeve on second gear due to the wrong gear oil being in transmission. I had it taken out, and rebuilt with all new bearings, sleeves, second gear and the proper gear oil. It changes like butter. I was told that these little transmissions are very durable with the right gear oil. The clutch was in excellent shape so I did not change it. I replaced the clutch cable. The engine has always purred like a kitten. I have replaced virtually every seal on the engine due to age and leakage. The engine does not use oil. It had the timing belt replaced last spring and has less than 1500 miles on it along with a few bearings on the timing belt gears and such for good measure. The suspension has had work as well. I lowered the car with performance shocks and springs. The car looked wedge shaped from the factory and affected the handling. It sets more level now and handles like a champ. The tires were replaced last spring and have less than 1500 miles on them. The brake system is essentially new. The calipers were starting to get some wear on them and did not function properly. Last spring I replaced all calipers, lines, pads. It will stop quickly like new. The fuel system has also had attention. The injectors are original and work perfectly. They are the Bosch type. The fuel tank gave out last spring so it was replaced along with fuel pump and filter. By the way, when I took out the fuel tank and could see the trunk part of the body there was no rust. The exhaust system was replaced last spring from the converter back. The interior of the car is good. The drivers seat could use a new cushion. There is a slight tear on the flat part of the seat. The threads in the back of the drivers seat are starting to come loose. The passenger seat is still well bolstered and no tears. The package shelf, door panels, and map pockets are very nice. Window regulators work perfectly. The wood in the interior is without blemish. The dash has two cracks at the defroster vents and they have been there since I bought the car. Carpet is in very good condition. All heater controls work well as do the all the gauges and the clock. There are no electrical issues with this car. Battery is one year old. Steering wheel has some wear on spokes but is not turned white. It is sharp. The top is good and the cage is excellent. The top boot is original and is in nice condition. In summary, one would be hard pressed to find a Fiat Spider that has been maintained like this one has. When released in 1982 it was ahead of its time with the innovations in this car. Car is ready to go and ready to be enjoyed. You will not be disappointed.

Designed by Italian stylist and coachbuilder Pininfarina the Fiat 124/Spider rivaled the MGB and Alfa Spider as the world’s longest running sports car. Many collectors will tell you that the most desirable models are the fuel-injected models, which began in 1980. '81 Fiat Spider 2000 Turbo — Overview: These little cars were never very powerful, but with the exception of the truly exotic cars, handling capabilities were far superior to most other sports cars of their time.. Fiat began to consider pulling out of the US. In an attempt to try to save the Fiat brand in the US, the importer, Fiat USA, Inc., worked with Legend Industries to install turbo chargers on several late '81 and early '82 cars, after they reached the United States. Boost was limited to only 6 psi to avoid damaging the engine, which was not designed to be used with a turbo. Even at a modest 6 psi, the turbo really awakened the little two liter four cylinder engine. Rarity: Only approximately 700 Spider 2000 Turbo models were made. These turbo models proved to be somewhat unreliable, and many of these cars were “de-trubo-ed”, leaving them as normal “Fuel Injected” cars. With the turbo failures, and the normal number of mechanical failures and accidents associated with a car nearly three decades old, there are very few of these still running and in their original mechanical condition. Handling: Truly amazing.. Acceleration: Pretty good... by 1981 standards. It's not a Ferrari, but with the turbo it easily outruns “stock” spiders. Not only does this fuel injected ‘81 Spider look great but also it drives and handles as good as it looks!!! Everything works. The gauges all operate. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts nicely through the gears. The clutch was changed when the motor was rebuilt. The engine was rebuilt about 3000 miles ago. The entire car was restored over the last few years. Everything has been disassembled and any worn parts have been replaced. Brakes are new. Brake lines have been replaced. Suspension was rebuilt and modified for better handling. Upper and lower control arms have been replaced with new. The interior of the car is original. There are some very small cracks in the seats. (See pictures)The original turbo was replaced with a new unit as the turbos on these cars were susceptible to premature ware. To combat this, a post oiler was added to keep the bearings on the turbo cool when spinning down. Every effort was made to make this a drivable car you could take around town or a nice trip. The engine runs nice and smooth while the operating temperature stays nice and cool. It’s got plenty of pep. The brakes feel good and the steering is accurate and fun. This car has power windows and a/c. both work well. The A/C was retrofitted to 134a Freon. Tires: 195/65/14 tire have less than 2000 miles All turbo hoses were replaced with new silicone hose. Brakes are new and have an adjustable brake bias valve installed. Pioneer sound system, am/fm/cassette/cd 6disk changer Oil pan guard was installed. (See picture) Few things needing attention… A couple of small dings and paint blemishes could be easily repaired (see pictures) The vinyl top has a slight cut in the welting and is barely noticeable. The rear window is clear. The Pininfarina Hardtop comes with the car. These tops are VERY RARE!!!!!! The top alone would go for about $3,000.00. These were used on the 124 rally cars and were designed by Pininfarina. This is not a knock off! Pedigree: This car has won at concourse at the Fiat Lancia Unlimited national Fiat club meeting twice in class. It has trophied 3 times at Lime Rock Park concours d’Elegance. And has been invited 3 times and participated at the Greenwich CT. Concours D’elegance. It is a very presentable car. Also included in the sale are extra motors and transmissions and all original parts and extra turbos/manifolds. Many of these parts can no longer be obtained. Feel free to contact me to schedule a time to see it for yourself. Worldwide Shipping at Buyers Expense Please, No con artists. I have seen this in the past and will not be negotiating with people I cannot speak to directly. Money talks…….
