My inspiration for this car was the Doane Spencer roadster in the early version. This is not a clone but is a tribute to the ingenuity shown by Doane throughout his automotive life. The chassis is an original 32 frame, one of the nicest i have ever worked on with a real model A front crossmember stock K member, modified for a T5 transmission, and a stock rear crossmember. The front suspension is a 32 heavy axle dropped 3 inches, Posie multiple leaf spring behind the axle on custom owner built bat-wings and hair pins. 33 Ford shocks inside the frame. MT 40 Lincoln drum brakes on 40 spindles with custom steering arms. 1932 steering box with 15/1 ratio and needle bearings for the sector shaft. Rear end is a 1936 rear gone through by Hot Rod Works with 9 inch ford axles and housing ends. Spring is a posies multiple leaf, radius rods are 1936 and shocks are 1932. Brakes are 11 inch ford. Wheels and tires are all 16 inch with Coker classic's. The engine is a 1949 8BA bored 3/16 with a 4 inch Merc crank. French rods Ross Pistons. Navaro heads and intake 59A style new Strombergs Isky Max 1 Mallory unilite crab distributor. All machine work by H&H flatheads assembly buy the owner. S10 T5 transmission. Brookville body with the cowl modified to resemble the 36 roadster look and for the Duvall windshield. Windshield made by Cam Grant and he straightened up the outside edges for a more correct look. Real 32 parts are the front spreader bar. hood tops , firewall, gas tank. and rear frame horn covers. Dash panel by the owner all gauges work, the AMP gauge was modified to a volt gauge. It could use A/C and there's a spot on the dash for the control. This was my first Model A....probably won't be my last! There's something special about those early fords. This very rare unshopped top 3-Windows coupe kept all the original things including the functional cowl hood vent, the functional front windshield, the functional rear window, the cowl lights and the factory door hinges and handles. No rust and No patch on this 83 years old original Henry Ford steel body! The steel dash and all the windows mouldings are chromed in the pure traditional nostalgia style. In the interior the red leather expertly crafted to seamlessly flow throughout the entire cabin including the headliner. The chassis is fully boxed. A Vintage Chassis Works front straight axle is fitted with a Unisteer rack and pinion steering system. The 9”rear axle is supported by a triangulated 4-link bar system and adjustable coil-over shocks. Under the hood lies a vintage 429 Ford engine recently overhauled will all the best and a very nice sounding cam with a great rumpity rump idle. In the 9'' rear end a posi-traction unit and a 2.75 gear ratio set-up was installed for a relaxing 1900 rpm at 60 mph. The fuel tank is all steel measuring 16-gallons. Braking is performed by a real set of vintage power-full Buick drum brakes fitted with Ford back-plates. No fake-drum here. And no need to worry, these brakes are from a Buick Electra 225 and are made to stop big car. The wheels are powder-coated original 1935 Ford 16'' genuine wire wheels and they are a perfect fit with the new Firestone 6.00-16 inthe front and 7.50-16 inthe rear. The entire vehicle was fully rewired using a Ron Francis fuse panel and harnesses. All the paint-striping was done by hand by a renowned old school paint-striper.
