1988 Ford F-150, XLT Lariat, 4-wheel-drive, Regular Cab. Has 5.0L/302 V8 and automatic transmission. Four-wheel-drive has dog leg floor shifter for transfer case, and manual hubs. It's an XLT Lariat, which was top of the line, and it has all the nice stuff you could get that year except power windows and locks. Carpeting is fairly clean, as is the cloth seat. There are a couple small tears in the seat as shown in the pics. The headliner material is a bit loose, but doesn't hang in your face and it's never bothered me since I'm a little short. The sun visors are also a little worn. The A/C is cold (living in Alabama, I make sure of this on ALL my cars, lol). I installed an aftermarket Kenwood CD player with an install kit (no cutting wires), but I *may* have the original radio if you want it as well. Cruise Control works as it should. This is a Southern truck with minimal rust and a solid body. I believe the approximately 93K miles showing is accurate. I was told the truck was a farm truck before the previous owner got it. The guy I got it from just used it when he moved, and then as an occasional vehicle. I used it as an around the house truck as well, only putting about 9K miles on it in the last 4 years I've owned it. When I bought it, I did a full tune up, transmission service, coolant change, new water pump, and rear brakes with master cylinder. It also needed a new steering box, so I installed one then and changed the fluid over to the newer Mercon V, which virtually eliminated the "Ford power steering wine" that's so common. The box is not as tight internally as I'd like, so the steering is a touch loose, but all other front end components are tight, and the truck drives well enough, so I haven't tried to replace the box again figuring another rebuilt unit wouldn't be any better. The exhaust system was almost totally replaced when I bought it as well, all except one manifold. The opposite manifold, Y-pipe, and catalytic converter were all replaced, and a new single in/dual out Flowmaster muffler installed with the pipes turned out sideways behind each rear wheel. The 4 new tires (well, 5, as I also replaced the spare) were also installed at that time on a set of early 90's Bronco alloy wheels I got from a friend. I've changed the coolant again this year as maintenance, and recently installed all new front brakes with slotted rotors from brakeperformance.com, Wagner pads (not the $19.99 no-name crap), new calipers, hoses, and a brake fluid flush with synthetic DOT4. The truck runs, and definitely stops like it should. The truck has dual fuel tanks, and both will run the truck, but the return-style fuel system returns to the rear only. It's not really a problem as long as you empty the rear before running on the front tank. If you use the Buy-It-Now, I'll fix that before you pick it up as it is simply the switching valve, still available from Ford, and in stock at my local dealer the last I checked. The body is in expected condition with some dents and dings, pretty average for year model. I do not believe it has ever been wrecked or repainted. The paint is shiny with a good wax job, but does show it's age up close and as seen in some of the photos. Tail gate has non-matching paint as it is from another truck, but is in decent shape and latches well. I believe the Buy-It-Now price is fair if you'll look at how much higher others are selling for here on eBay. It's certainly not as perfect as those, but it's a great truck. I'm going to be towing a heavy trailer somewhat regularly soon, and it will weigh more than what I believe this one can handle, so I'm getting something newer and stouter. With the Buy-It-Now price also comes a used trailer hitch that I bought, but haven't gotten around to installing. If you have a feedback score of less than 10, or a rating less than 75%, please get prior approval. Non-paying bidders will be reported to eBay. It costs a lot of money to list things on eBay, and it's just plain rude of you to waste other people's time and money. If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them via e-mail. It may be easiest over the phone for you, so message me your United States phone number with the best time frame to call. Truck is located in Anniston, AL, less than 5 minutes from Interstate 20. I will be willing to pick you up from either the Birmingham or Atlanta airports for the cost of fuel (Birmingham is closer, but Atlanta's not much further).Paypal deposit of $250 due immediately, remainder due as cash or cashier's check from a major bank (Regions, Compass, or Wells Fargo are biggest here) at pick up. Truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end listing early.
