Thank You for looking at my 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback ''A'' Code. It's a factory 4 speed car and a real ''A''code car.I bought car in 2009 from Brea ,California.It was a driving, fast,former amatuer drag race/street car [See photos].When I bought it it had a 302 in it and the original 4 speed toploader.It was red in color,then after stripping paint I found the vintage burgundy color to be original.The options on car were 4 speed manual steering ,A code v8,power brakes .Made in Detroit Michigan.Just a plain Jane fast fastback California car. This car is fast,reliable,beautiful.It is above average compared to middle of road restore,The paint and motor,motor compartment are its high points. No apologies..I made it to be a 1960's era looking drag/street car authentic in every way, no power steering or ac.Its mean and powerful and has nice sound,stance.And if you look at before and after it pays tribute to its amatuer street/drag racing history how I got it.Though I personally have never taken to track,or know its capabilities.there. I decided to restore car .After examination there was no rust.There was a dent in driver quarter that was repaired earlier.Also there was prior radiator support work,and crinkled passenger inner motor fender work.We replaced raditor core support,right fender,inner fender,and the ends of frame rails because they were not perfect on edges and been.The undercarriage was solid and coated with primer and paint.There is no rust anywhere on car.The rearend was replaced with a HIPO 9 inch center,and 8 inch 28 spline tubes,and axles.It has a built 3;55 positraction in it now.This was to increase strength reliability and looks.It now is a Hipo era rearend.This configuration only came on those cars. The body was taken down to bare metal,very nice epoxy primer,sealing all ,The engine was treated to cardinal semi gloss black.All body panels were aligned,rear fender edges were rolled to accomodate 255 75/15 tires.Many coats and blocking before paint.The paint is Boyd Coddington Red,,First car was painted white base,Then 1.5 gallons of Red,And 4-6 coats clear.The paint was colorsanded 40 hours,then 3 step buffing,and poishing to remove imperfections. At this time all the chrome and stainless was polished and plated triple chrome. The battery was moved to trunk and trunk is splatter painted and factory vynil cover laid.All weatherstripping ,locks,handles,electrical was gone through,new door felts and new front windshield.Retaining original side glass and rear glass still in place[some scratches on original rear window minor] The motor compartment was modified by removing 2 inches material on either shock tower,fabricated,and smoothed for placement of bigger taller stronger motor 1.5 inches taller wider. It took many hours of fabrication of headers and figuring to get motor in car.The motor was replaced with a Ford Pro line aftermarket Crate windsor 351 yr 82 ,that has all new parts,Aluminum pro line,ported polished heads, aluminum pro line pistons,aluminum rockers,intake performer edelbrock,850 cfm edelbrock,MSD electronic ignition,distributor,Sanderson Headers alumium coated long tube,New alumium radiator,high output fuel pump, Polished Cobra air filter and polished valve covers,with alumium spaers to look like 289 small block.The car was dynoed at @370 hp to back wheels and 425 hp motor @It has dual exhaust 2 inch from collectors to flowmasters in back.Through gt holes in valance.Crisp,mild,throaty responsive.The transmission was rebuilt ,it has long gears for better driving ratio.Its the original Toploader that came with car.Chrome monte carlo bar,and chrome shock strut supports. All the engine hardware and fender bolts are show stainless everywhere.It looks nice when hood is open .The abs power brakes were added.Also new bushings,controls arms,front rear brakes were added.they are modified abs 11 inch front discs that allow 15 inch wheels to be on car. Interior has new Gt door panels,center console restored,hurst shifter,painted interior panels cardinal black semigloss,new carpet,new factory recovered buckets,seatbelts,heaadliner,lights,oil temp,water temp,tach added.All interior courtesy lights work ,original material in great shape on back seat.All trim painted black,new chrome handles ,knobs,switches,factory am radio.,polished original rocker chrome.The car sits on 15 torque thrust original 1960's mags ,new,and 255 75/15,225 75/15 front. I removed bottom chrome and restored authentic GT to car,that wasn't on it originally. So after description the whole car has been frame off restored,many hours rebuilding rstoring ,finished September 2013 The car can be seen in Garden Grove Ca 92841. The first 2 pictures were today with the bigger rear tires They are M/T Drag radial slicks,the other rear matching 2 tires are included in sale and are in following stance pictures.I put big tires because the small tires would not hook up at all!
