First Generation, Early production, Original configurationApril 17th 2014, the Mustang\'s 50th Birthday!) 1964 -1/2 Mustang Standard Coupe For Sale! March 23, 2014 (this cars BD, production date) has turned 50. As I understand, production for the Mustang started in March of 1964 to be introduced to the public in June of 1964. Thats what the was all about. Ford motor company wanted to be the first in the New Year to get their car out before all the other car manufactures. I remember it was a big deal for fall to arrive to see all the new cars models and changes in the fall of the year. This car was purchased at Bill Weldon Ford, Sunland, California. California registered May 19, 1964 and was driven across country in June of 1964. Returning to reside in Sunland, Costa Mesa, and Orange, now in Burbank California. 65A M 85 23C 71 5 1, Vehicle #5FC7U103108, (1st one started with 5F08F100001) 170 inline straight 6 cylinder engine with generator, 13 inch wheels (I have not checked to see if these are time coded, I know that they have not been changed), redid original red color interior, with banana milk shake (my color) exterior paint, was Wimbledon White. The interior pieces are all new with just an ok paint job on the exterior. No accidents, just dings from the parking lot people. The original motor (#s match) has been rebuilt about 15 years ago. It has been my daily driver. Anyone interested, needs to see and drive before cash as is purchase.Things that dont work on this poor little thing.Radio, Heater/defroster, Check out fuse box, Dash lights, Original tire jack, handle needs TLC.
