'Red Hills Rods & Classics' is thrilled to offer you this absolutely FLAWLESS 2008 Roush P-51A Mustang with only 215 miles since purchased new @ Mike Finnin Ford in Dubuque Iowa. This car is #120 of only 151 built! Retail price was $62,753, but most Ford dealers were getting a $10,000 premium above and beyond the list price. You will not find a more PERFECT example of a 2008 Roush P-51A anywhere @ any price, period! We have sold quite a few low-mile vehicles in the last 10 years, but we have never seen an example so FLAWLESS that we could not find a single blemish, inside or out! The paint is absolutely brilliant and without a single flaw anywhere! The interior is showroom fresh and looks as though the car just left the factory! This Roush P-51A is simply pristine from top to bottom! Personally, I have always been a huge fan of WWII fighter planes, so when Roush released the P-51A back in 2008, I was instantly smitten with the car. It is by far the most beautiful Mustang that Roush ever created, and they have become highly collectible over the last 7 years. The ROUSH Performance P-51A Mustang is easily the highest horsepower Mustang that the company has produced at the time of its release, and represents the first time that internal engine components have been upgraded by ROUSH technicians in their Livonia, Michigan facility. It was determined that the only way to give the P-51A moniker its due was to completely break into the 4.6L, 3V and rebuild several of the functional internal components, which include a forged steel eight-bolt crankshaft, forged aluminum pistons with increased dish to lower the compression from 9:8 to 8:6, and forged steel H-Beam connecting rods. These upgraded parts were necessary for the stock Ford engine (which comes with 300 horsepower from the factory) to be able to withstand the additional power generated from the newest iteration of the legendary ROUSHcharger supercharger system. Additional alterations include a custom aluminum upper and lower intake manifold for the high capacity air-to-water intercooler and ROUSHcharger. ROUSH installed a custom fuel rail and high-flow fuel injectors, a high-flow capacity fuel system, as well as a dual electronic throttle body. The new ROUSH P-51A engine has a preliminary rating of at least 510 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. torque. It is anticipated that final figures may even be slightly higher than this when final testing and calibration is approved by the ROUSH engineering staff. The changes to the ROUSH P-51A don't end under the hood. A ROUSH aero-body kit was installed, which includes a front fascia, chin spoiler, hood scoop and rear spoiler. The ROUSH black high-flow grill is added along with cooling side shields to give the car the aggressive look it needs while stalking the streets. Internally the car comes with ROUSH sport leather seating and custom floor mats, both with an embroidered P-51A emblem. The white face gauges and billet aluminum pedals get a lot of use as the driver bangs through the gears w/ the ROUSH short throw shift lever and retro black ball. For those who look behind the 18" ROUSH forged five-spoke wheels will see the vaunted Stage 3 suspension underneath this vehicle. Designed to handle even the tightest twists and turns, this suspension includes specially-engineered and tuned front struts, rear shocks, front and rear springs, front and rear sway bars and jounce bumpers. The front brakes are also upgraded with 14-inch front two-piece rotors and four-piston calipers. Each component was specifically engineered so that ride comfort was not compromised at the expense of the tremendous gains in performance. These are very special cars indeed, and to find a PRISTINE example with only 205 original miles is a once in a lifetime opportunity! Every piece of original documentation is present and will go to the new owner. The owners manuals, etc. are still wrapped in plastic and have never been opened. Both of the original Window Stickers are in perfect condition, as are the original hang tags. Wrapping a 600 horsepower ROUSHcharged V8 in Tremec gears, BMW suspension components and a literal interpretation of Triple Ace Bud Anderson's "Old Crow" warbird, this elite roadster takes Ol' Shel's Cobra to a whole new level! BODYWORK/TRIM From inception, Backdraft cars are turnkey products developed and engineered to mimic the vintage appeal of authentic aluminum Cobras while handily out-performing pretty much anything on the street. The assembly of this roadster's professionally finished body began with a steel-lined GRP molding that was hand-tweaked and gel coated on a full-size rotisserie rack. Once that coating was complete, the newly formed fuselage was smoothed by a seasoned fiberglass professional, baked in an even coat of primer and inspected top-to-bottom to ensure first-class quality. When quality control was cleared, clean Vapor Metallic PPG was detailed with Olive war paint, covered in three layers of ChemSpec clear, baked and cured for three days, and finally, flattened and polished to a head turning shine. And today, this super slick Cobra is a sophisticated build that exhibits twice the style and twice the race-bred DNA of a typical replicar boulevard cruiser. Following the successful launch of their P-51 Mustang series, some of the most sought-after and collectible tuner Mustangs ever created, Backdraft Racing armed another storied American fighter with this P51 themed Cobra. And, as if you couldn't tell, their WW2-themed aesthetics look absolutely stunning on this roadster's sublime and curvaceous body. At the front of the car, a sculpted and re-angled nose hangs black-trimmed headlights above clear, bullet-style parking lamps and Satin Black quick lifts. A riveted hood anchors a small, "ROUSHCHARGED" scoop in front of locking latches and Satin Black windshield wipers. Behind that hood, a tinted, Backdraft-branded windshield hangs a small mirror and 'Jack Roush' branded wind wings in front of a tight top, a Satin Black roll bar and a familiar, Monza-style fuel filler. At the sides of the car, monochromatic exhaust pipes ride below stylized Roush emblems, color-keyed air extractors and 3M quarter guards. And at the back of the car, black-trimmed tail lamps combine with a black tag light to illuminate a locking trunk handle and a second pair of Satin Black quick lifts. ENGINE Like most Roush-branded creations, this Cobra features a supercharged and intercooled 4.6 liter Ford 'mod motor'. But, unlike most run-of-the-mill Roush mod motors, that engine, installed by the pros at Speed Fanatix of Boynton Beach, Florida, makes an incredible 600 horsepower! The TVS Technology ROUSHcharger is an Eaton-style blower that successfully manages on-track temperatures thanks to an air-to-liquid intercooler. At the side of that blower, a large induction system snakes around an Olive Green alternator and Aeromotive fuel componentry. Below that blower, a high performance Roush intake complements satin fuel rails, yellow Accel coil packs and Olive Green cam covers. At the front of that blower, a lightweight aluminum radiator utilizes an Olive water neck and polished tubes to circulate coolant around a large puller fan and polished overflow tank. Even though Ford's go-to V8 is a very strong engine as is, this one has been supplemented with a beefier cooling system and recalibrated ECM. Aesthetically, the spotless mill features a typical OEM-level appearance that's set off by an array of clean accents. And, when you twist its key, you'd better be sure you've clicked your belts! DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION When it's time to put your hair in the wind, forget about outdated Toploader 4-speeds because this modern-day Cobra blisters the pavement with a fresh Tremec TKO600 5-speed. That world-class transmission delivers power to a 3.46 limited-slip BMW rear end that creates whiplash-inducing acceleration while still allowing the car to loaf along at highway speeds. That drivetrain, which is bolted to a hot-rolled rectangular steel ladder-type chassis, sends power through the same BMW-sourced MacPherson strut front and fully independent rear suspension that's become a Backdraft hallmark. And thanks to that suspension's adjustable front stabilizer bar, fully adjustable rear ride height and BMW power steering system, you're getting a Cobra that has a performance threshold capable of humiliating much more expensive hardware. Brakes are drilled and slotted discs at all four corners that, thanks to this car's featherweight construction, are virtually impervious to fade. And there's simply nothing that looks better on a Cobra than a set of Halibrand-style wheels, which spin aggressive Nitto radials around yellow Wilwood calipers.
