1962 Ford Falcon Station Bus for sale (that's the official name). 112,000 original milesI'm the third owner and acquired it from my dad (who was the second owner) in around 1988Windows all the way aroundSeats are not original--they are from an 80's era Ford WindstarIncludes spare tire on original (?) wheel170 I-6, 3 on the treeIt's been sitting for a long time but will run well with a little TLC. Probably not safe to drive without some minor work to make sure the brakes work, replace the tires, likely needs fuel tank clean-out, oil change, diff fluid change, etc.Some very minor body work needed, but it's overall pretty rust-free. It had some cracks in the filler material at one time so I immediately sanded it down and painted it to prevent rusting.Falcon badges on doorsInterior is basically bare other than seatsIt of course takes regular LEADED fuel, so you'll need a lead additiveEquipped with an aftermarket 1-BBL Holley, but I have the original which I will include. The new carb is auto-choke, but the old one is a manual chock using a cable from the front of the dog house. The choke cabling is still in place, so it will easily take the original carb once rebuilt.Includes the original oil-bath air cleaner, steering wheel center/horn button, and some other misc parts in a box.Comes with THE ORIGINAL keys too! I have owned this van for about 28 years. I had always planned to restore it, but never found the time, skill, or money. Sadly it is time to let it go now. It needs a good home where someone will give it the care it needs and deserves! I love this old van. My Ebay username is even tailored after its resemblance to the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine! It is a blast to drive since you sit slightly ahead of the front wheels. This makes the front seat ride incredibly smooth. The angle of the steering wheel makes it feel like a big city bus too. It is not quick by any means, but gets you from point A to point B. It has been basically untouched for many years now. I used to run it every couple of months, sometimes in place and sometimes I'd drive it around the neighborhood, but it has been sitting in its current spot for about 5 years now. That's what told me it is time to let it go! Repairs over the years include: new radiator, new muffler (currently has a Cherry Bomb--it sounds really cool on the old I-6!), new valve cover gasket, new heater core, new heater fan control switch, new defrost ducting, new fuel pump, had generator rebuilt (yes, generator, NOT alternator), new motor mounts, new king pins, new carb. Please keep in mind these repairs have taken place over 28 years, so I'd stop short of using the term "recent"! It was last registered in approximately 2001. Once it is roadworthy and when you register it, you may want to do a little work to get the recorded name changed from Station Bus to Econoline or similar. Twice I have been pulled over by the police because the word "station" was in the registration notes they can see, and they assumed it meant station wagon. It is clearly not a station wagon but a van, so they did their jobs (a little too) well and pulled me over to confirm I didn't have stolen license plates. Ford put out several Falcon branded vehicles in the 60's including the sedan, Ranchero style truck, truck with a van front-end (Econoline truck), and this Econoline-based version. The Econoline "line" has several variants in and of itself which I can no longer recite from memory, but Google can tell you the whole story. Sorry about the pictures too--they don't show the rear or driver's side very well due to its position in my garage. Trust me when I tell you they are both in similar condition to the sides you can see in the pictures. Oh--and I will clear out the junk inside it too, so don't worry about having to deal with that. In case you're wondering what kind of crazy you're dealing with: we live in the woods so the golf clubs in the interior picture are suspended to keep the mice out of the bag. :) Feel free to contact me with questions. Original working gauge cluster with aftermarket gauges for rpm, oil pressure, water temp, and voltage (Fuel gauge is not completely accurate and might need calibration in the future). B&M sport floor gear shifter. Complete custom stereo system, new JVC head unit with FM/AM radio, Bluetooth, USB, and Aux input. Two 5-1/4” Memphis front kick panel speakers, two 6x9 Memphis rear speakers, and two 12” rear subwoofers by Digital Design. For sale is a 1962 Ford Falcon Sedan. This car has been one of my daily drivers for a year and has been gone through and upgraded to handle modern driving but still have classic looks, The motor is a Ford inline 6 (250) from a 1973 Ford Maverick and has been rebuilt and runs well. the transmission is a strong C4, and backed up with a Ford 8" rear with 2:75 gears. the car has drum brakes all around, but are to an upgraded size to 10.5", opposed to the stock 9", all four corners were rebuilt as well as the master cylinder and hard lines. Front suspension was rebuilt with all new upper and lower control arms, spring seat shocks inner and outer tie rods as well as the idler arm and rear shocks. The interior was restored by the previous owner and looks and feels great. stock bench seat was removed for a power seat and is very comfortable. In all it has been a very great car but I no longer have time to upgrade the things I wish to and would be good to pass it on to a new owner, The issues with the car are minimal but any old car has quirks. Rust on the car is only in the trunk pan but have been isolated and covered, as well as the floor-pans, Not my personal work but the quarter panels, rockers and so on are in great shape and covered with POR-15 to insure they stay that way. The car is a great weekend car or perfect candidate for an early 60s muscle car project. Falcons are getting expensive and finding good examples is getting hard! Extremely straight. The trim is there and excellent. One repaint way back when. Original blue paint and interior car with a white top(needs top redone, and the convertible top frame is in excellent condition). Has the original convertible top boot too. All glass there and good. Underhood # matches vin. Original engine and transmission, with a spare engine and trans if you'd like them. Youngest son thought he'd get the car back on the road and took some engine and suspension brackets n such and painted them some goofy colors, but that's nothing really-just looks stupid. All engine bracketry underhood all in place. Numbers matching everything. Original everything and in good shape. Interior original, with original deluxe wood steering wheel in great shape, dash unmolested, dash bezels not damaged or broken. Engine runs, but needs car gone through or restoration. If you have been looking for a Falcon Sprint Convertible-they're rare...one in this mostly original shape with no rust is pretty much unheard of. Look at the pictures...the car is excellent.
