Ford : Model A Ford 1931 victoria complete nut and bolt restoration to judging standards

This 1931 Model A Victoria #A4741190, indented firewall, has undergone a complete and extensive, ground up, nut and bolt restoration, done to Model A judging standards. Great care has been taken to assure that every part of this car is Ford correct. This low production car was restored with the idea of never selling it, so, no expense was spared or detail overlooked. The engine was rebuilt by a well known Model A engine rebuilder. Internally it was built to tour (after showing). It has a counterbalanced crankshaft, and a touring cam. The only thing externally that is not absolutely correct is that it has a Brumfield high compression head. It has the correct side bowl carburetor. It has a lightened flywheel and V-8 clutch and pressure plate. The transmission is completely rebuilt. The rear end has been rebuilt with the 3:54-1 touring gear. The frame and all connected parts were disassembled and powdercoated. The underside of the car is as nice as the topside. The body has been carefully painted the correct (by Ford Archives) Ford Maroon using PPG Concept. It has the Vermillion stripe. All of the wood is new. All of the stainless was professionally restored and polished. All of the nuts and bolts and washers and lockwashers are of the same configuration and color of the originals. The tires are new Firestones 4.50/4.75 x 19, with correct valve stems and hardware. The interior is the correct broad cloth. The curtains were handwoven to exactly match the original fabric. All of the garnish moldings are woodgrained in the correct stiple mahogany. It has the correct rebuilt windshield wiper that parks to the left. It has the factory pop-out switch. It does have the Flathead Henry floating brake system which is easily replaced with original, but it sure does stop better. It has all new cast iron brake drums with shoes arched to the drums. The top has the correct molding bent to the roof radius with the rubber insert. This car runs and drives like new. It has fewer than 100 miles since restoration. I have many more pictures.

Up for grabs is this neat old Henry Ford 1928-29 Ford Model A Sport Coupe! This cool little A has awesome patina and would make a great banger hot rod, or father and son project! Comes with complete front and rear end, rolls and steers good, tires are almost new, deck lid isn't an original but I believe it's a model B deck lid and comes with a few inner panels so you can make a descent lid out of it. Car has usual rust as pictured. Doors open and close, has all original glass that isn't broken and front windshield swings in and out as it should. Sub rails are in good shape, all sheet metal is pretty strait. Has no motor or transmission. A great start to a neat little Model A folks. What you see is what you get. Does NOT come with a title. For sale is a nice 1936 Ford Truck with flathead and 3 speed trans. The Motor is a 1950 Mercury Flathead with Offenhauser heads and intake with dual carbs and runs smooth as silk and has a great sound. The trans shifts smooth and seamless thru the gears. The electrical system works perfect and has been converted to 12V. The suspension is nice and tight and brakes are new with power juice brakes added and new tires. The interior and glass is all in very good shape with little to no wear. The paint is an older paint job that still has a nice shine. The wood bed is in very good shape but is a few years old. Over all this is a great truck that draws a crowd where ever you take it. This year we took it with us to the Race Of Gentleman in wildwood and were allowed to bring it with us in the pits with our race car. The response was unbelievable, everyone wanted to check it out. This is a great old Model A Ford. It drives nice,All the gears are good.All the lights work. The aahooga horn works very well. I have put on a new, shorter pitman arm to make the steering easier. All the shocks are on the Model A and work well.The doors shut extremely well.The ignition electronics has been upgraded and a 6 volt alternater was installed. The back tires are new. the rest of the tires are in good shape. I had the exhaust pipe extended so that the exhaust gas would not be expelled under the cab. The spark plugs are all new. I just drained , flushed and replaced all of the fluids. I purchased the coupe from the widow of the previous owner. I was informed that the previous owner had the motor overhauled and had the motor computer balanced. It also has a new battery. I have not put 500 miles on the car since I purchased it.I just had the Model A painted. It's two tone and is original Model A colors. Please look at the photos - They show just how nice this Model A Ford coupe is. I have owned other Model A Fords and this one is the best one I have ever owned.

This car is a freshly completed build by a Hot Rod shop owner in central Florida, and it is about as clean a car as you could ask for! The car consists of a Total Performance body, California Custom Roadsters rails, Speedway ordered suspension bits, and completely reworked 350ci V8 with brand new 350 Turbo transmission. The TPI body is in fantastic condition, and just like the rails, rear end, and pretty much everything else, was carefully prepped for accepting the gorgeous Dark Brown Mica Metallic finish. Mixed directly from the PPG color chart for a 2007 Camry, the color is easy to match if you need to, and provides a rich looking finish in a sea of black and yellow cars. The finish is glossy, slick, and wet looking all around, and has been painstakingly hand striped from front to back to contrast with the finish and match the neutral colored steel wheels. The car has really not been driven much, so it shows less than a handful of truly minor little marks like tiny scuffs/stone chips and things on the painted areas. The rear end has been smoothed and painted as well, and looks amazing, as do the frame rails from front to back. Again, practically no sign of use to be found, just normal dirt/grime from not being professionally detailed. The builder fabricated a custom built, removable rear storage rack that looks amazing, and has the strength and room to hold a cooler, show chairs, and whatever else you might need for a day of cruising. It really gives the car a great look, especially with the 15 gallon spun aluminum gas tank with vent positioned in front of it! Aluminum also contributes the frame for the glass windshield, which is crack and damage free. It has vintage style chrome mounts, and a chrome round mirror on the driver side. The car rolls on brand new Wheel Vintique Steelies wrapped in fresh, skinny radial tires. The combo up front is P235/75R15 in the back with chrome lug nuts and trim ring, with like-new DHTZ radial tires. Up front, skinner 185/65R15 Douglas Xtra-Trac II radials are wrapped around matching steelies with chrome trim rings, lug nuts, and centers. All of it looks like new, and has less than 300 test and break-in miles on it since completion. Chrome vintage style side steps make getting in and out of the car a breeze for driver or passenger. The OEM theme continues at the back of the car with vintage looking chrome tail lamps, including driver side license plate mount with light. Polished aluminum head lamp mounts prop up the massive chrome head lights, which seem to light up the world when they are on. All of the chrome and bright work still looks new because it basically is! This car was freshly done, and has just an estimated 300 miles or less on it, as well as the majority of the components. Chassis on the car in the back consists of a painted Speedway 4-bar set up including polished and powder coated coil-over shocks, and a narrowed, smoothed, and cleanly finished 8” rear end packed with 2.79 gears. Up front, Wintec was tapped for the entire front suspension system, which was also treated to the Dark Mica finish, along with all new hardware and components. The chassis was carefully aligned and adjusted, and the rear drum brakes and front disc units were perfectly adjusted to bring the car down from speed without any drama, pulling, or excess fade. It rides fantastic, doesn’t feel choppy on the road, and tracks normally without pulling or catching thanks to the narrower modern radial tires. The engine block was sourced from a 1970 Chevrolet Corvette according to the prior owner/builders notes, and the block casting number and casting date number would support that. The 350ci 2-Bolt Main engine was thermos cleaned, peened, tumbled, and then magnafluxed to check for any hairline cracks or issues. After passing muster, the decks were surfaced, cylinders bored, and that other good stuff the machinist does before it was completely reassembled with all new internals, gaskets, and accessories. This was a stock-type rebuild, with OEM spec internals, so you don’t have to worry about it having a crazy cam or having to constantly wrench on it! All new seals, gaskets, and hardware throughout made sure the build looked as fresh as it was. Power is plentiful, and the car will spin tire for days if you want, but still run at highway speeds without killing itself thanks to the highway friendly gears. An HEI distributor feeds all new plugs, JEGS Performance plug wires, and ignites the fuel for the Edelbrock Performer 1406 carb. This 600cfm square-bore unit is the perfect match for the Edelbrock Performer intake on the car, and gets fuel to everything without any issues. Wondering what the cool air breather is? It is an old vintage bed pan that was reworked for the car! A polished aluminum custom radiator with custom aluminum fan keeps things running super cool, with all new hoses, gaskets, and waterpump. Performance starter fires it up every single time, and all new custom wiring with modern harness makes sure the electrical is just as perfect as the rest of the car. The engine was matched to a brand new 350 Turbo transmission, which has a 2,500rpm stall, 10” converter, and gets direction from the B&M Shifter with vintage style crystal ball topper. Mechanically, the car is all sorted out, and it starts perfectly, runs wonderfully, and has proven to be reliable and clean running during my tenure with the car. I have driven the car about 75 miles myself, and it is a BLAST! It handles great, can be guided by one hand, and does everything it is supposed to do VERY well! There are no known electrical, mechanical, or functional issues with the car at this time, and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. Inside, the tub was finished out with all-weather capability in mind. It is covered from the sides to the seat in marine grade vinyl done in a vintage pleated style and two-tone for a classic look. Upholstery shows little, if any, signs of being used. The prior owner/builder was about 6’2 and 195 pounds, so he made sure there is plenty of room to get around inside the car. I am 5’11” and about 250 and I fit just fine in it too. Lokar supplied the spoon chrome gas pedal and OEM style brake pad, which are both to the right of the column for easy access. An OEM style column has a vintage turn signal/ hazard light control affixed to it, and is topped by a custom made all aluminum steering wheel. Three different shift trim rings are included with the car, so when you decide if you want any kind of floor covering, you can use them to affix the boot. A master battery shut-off is conveniently floor mounted as well, and works as it should. Dash is painted and finished, and has Stewart Warner gauges for OIL pressure, and WATER temp on each side of the centrally located SPEEDO with odometer. Speedo still needs a cable to hook it up to the 350 transmission, so you can say you did SOMETHING to the car! After the initial build and shake down was complete, the car was disassembled for paint, powdercoat, and upholstery work. It was then rebuilt, driven about 225 miles by the builder, and another 75 or so by me. Now, you can start with zero and roll off into the sunset knowing that the car really doesn’t need anything at all except to be driven. Overall, this is an incredibly well-built machine, with essentially all new parts from front to back. It has a great old-school appeal to it, and snaps heads like a chicken farmer when you drive past! In the area? Come see it. If not, fly down here for a personal showing! This truck is the famous MAN MADE LEGENDS Shop Truck, built back when original owner John Sad was still at the helm of the NC Hot Rod and Restoration Specialist. If you’ve read a rod, Kulture, or customizing magazine in the last few years, you’ll surely recognize the name, as both the original team and the new owners have managed to turn out some of the koolest rides this side of the Mississippi over the years. This particular truck is a melding of classic old patina style and aging techniques combined with a quality build out to create a truck that is reliable and fun to drive, but with all the crazy appeal of a “Rat Rod” on top of it. The first thing that gets you is the appearance. It looks like it has been sitting in the back 40 for 50 years, and seems like it would blow away in a dust of rust with a strong wind, but on closer inspection you realize that it is a real, solid, steel body that has been painstakingly customized to LOOK old! How they do it is a shop secret, but take a look at all of the large photos I have provided and you will see that the truck has about as perfect a patina as you could get outside of Mother Nature. The patina treatment extends from the body to the chassis, to most of the components on the car, and even goes under the hood to the carefully treated engine and engine bay! From the inside out, and front to back, this truck gives off an appearance like it has sat outside since Henry Ford built it! Grab a magnet, and you’ll be amazed at how solid everything is, and how much effort was put into making sure all the doors, hood, and other parts lined up and fit. No bondo patches, no chicken wire, no crushed up beer cans… just Henry steel combined with a vivid imagination and extremely talented fabrication and finish work. Wood bed rails, bed floor, and fuel tank cover are all solid wood, and each plank was carefully treated and aged to make sure it didn’t look out of place on the truck. Real Surf Boards grace the top of the roof, and are bolted, screwed, and strapped into place to keep them intact on high-speed runs from Johnny Law. Original windshield visor is intact, and the windshield moves fore and aft to let additional ventilation in. Hood has functional aged leather straps in place to “hold it down”, but in reality, the front latch and attachment screw for the belt makes sure NO ONE steals a glance at the engine bay unless you want them to. Chrome mirrors on each side of the truck provide good views for the driver, and are practically the only bit of shiny bright stuff on the truck! Wheels are perfectly aged as well, and wrapped in BF GOODRICH Silverstone wide white wall bias-ply tires that have been purposefully NOT kept clean to go with the rest of the rides look. Everything from the suspension front and rear was purposefully aged and patina finished to keep the look going as well, but as you can see in the pictures, it is all clean, solid, and fully functional beneath it all. Custom striping throughout the truck looks amazing, and has been carefully aged as well so it doesn’t stick out. All of the logos and striping are hand-painted and look perfect on the truck! Everything from the rear bumper, hardware gate chains, lights, even the Coca-Cola bottle opener on the right rear of the bed… were all PURPOSEFULLY aged so that they fit the look and feel of the entire build. Back of the cab has a wood-framed license plate holder, but it does NOT have a plate light, so if your State requires one on classic cars, plan accordingly. The only other bit of chrome on the truck appears to be the vintage Chrome Lady lying on the fuel tank over. She is bolted down to keep thieving hands at bay! Rear glass has a little crack in it, but the windshield is crack and issue free. Chassis is primarily stock style components, which have all been aged accordingly in appearance, but function quite well. Drum brakes all around stop the truck with ease, and with a minimal amount of feedback to the driver. Shocks and springs work together nicely to provide a good ride, and you won’t chatter your teeth out on a highway cruise or rolling over a speed bump. A Ford 302CI V8 of unknown origin rests under the hood, and is a very mild stock build, with no radical internal components, mostly stock parts inside and out, a complete absence of billet and chrome, and a perfectly done patina on everything from the air cleaner to the block. It dripped a couple of drops after driving on the shop floor, so we tightened the oil and trans pan bolts and it stopped. Other than that, it is leak, weep, and drip free. It is not a smoker, and has no known issues at this time. It starts right up, idles cleanly, and appears to be tuned very well. Again, this is NOT a radically built motor. It was kept as close to stock as possible for reliability, ease of maintenance, and problem-free ownership. You can get practically anything the trucks powertrain needs at your local auto parts store, and it is a perfect vehicle for someone who lacks mechanical ability because ANY local garage can work on it for you. It is mated to a Ford 3-speed automatic transmission with a basically stock configuration, no shift kit, and no stall converter. It shifts smooth and easy in all gears, and combined with the smoothed 9” FORD rear end and its 3.73 gearing, provides more than manageable cruising speed to get you around town and to the next show. They even added weld bumps to the rear axle to make it look like it would have if someone narrowed it back in the day! This is NOT an Interstate cruising Power Tour car, but it is perfectly suited to cruise at 55mph and head to the next town for cruise night. Cooling system is a stock set-up, with a larger radiator and bigger fan. It stays cool when cruising, and lays at about 194 degrees when driving it. Get stopped for longer than 10 minutes in one place, like I did heading to the Island in it, and she will reach about 210 degrees, but quickly drops back down the second you start moving. All in all, a pretty cool running little machine considering the fact it doesn’t carry an auxiliary electric fan on board! I have had the pleasure of cruising this truck about 60 miles total, and it is a BLAST to drive! Drive. That is an important word, because between the bias ply tires and stock style suspension you actually need to DRIVE this thing! No time for selfies or using the rear-view to pretend you’re Caitlyn Jenner…it is all gas, brake, steer, and go with this machine! It is so much fun to drive, and you will be amazed at the attention it gets! All of the lights work, including headlamps, tail lamps, and signals. The interior of the truck is just as radical as the exterior, and has so much going on if you blink you’ll miss something! Aluminum aircraft bomber seats have been properly aged and fit with a burlap/boat vinyl seat cushion for comfort and protection from the elements. Floor is all steel with exposed rivets, and all of it has been acid-etched and painted with rustoleum for looks and protection. Door panels, kick panels, and rear panel are all covered in bamboo shade material, which not only looks great, but keeps with the “Water? No problem!” them of the interior! Steering wheel is a vintage something, and looks super cool while providing more than enough acreage to steer this beast with. Dash is original, with original center pod, but the key switch has been done away with in favor of a switch and push-button starting procedure. Vintage turn signal control box is mounted on the stock-style column. Center console was custom made, and housed the custom made shifter and housing. The gauge pod unit was created from a block of wood that was custom worked to hold the gauges for Speedometer/Odometer, OIL, TEMP, FUEL, and VOLTS. Everything seems to be working as it should, except for the Speedo, which the prior owner said needs a cable attached between it and transmission. Column mounted Tachometer is functional and looks great too. Control panel on lower left of dash houses switchgear for the truck, and works like it should. Doors shut tight, and the wood-topped levers open and close them solid and surely. This is NOT a back-yard built junker that you can’t even take down the block. This is a PRO-BUILT rod that was made to look old and ratty, but is extremely clean, solid, and well-constructed when you get past the paint. I have had a blast driving it out to the Island for a cruise night, and just zipping around town in it, and find it to be about as fun to drive as you could ask for. People absolutely LOVE IT. Men, women, old, young… it seems like everyone wants to take a picture with it, admire how nice it is once they get up close and really start examining it. 1931 Ford Model A Hot Rod Up for sale is a 1931 Ford Model A Hot Rod. This car is done really nice... Rebuilt 454 dual quad big block, rebuilt TH400 trans, Ford posi 9" rear end with 3.92 gear. Lucky 7 drop front axle, 4 wheel disc brakes. TCI shifter, electric water pump, MSD ignition w/ Power Blaster coil. New chrome high torque starter. The frame is smoothed out and boxed throughout. All bare metal has been clear coated and the body is original Henry Ford steel. Interior is completely finished out with 2 12 volt power outlets and a 110 volt power inverter. Pinstriping & Clay Smith Cams Mr. Horsepower emblem is hand painted also. This is a really beautiful car!!! Don't miss it!!!!
