For sale is my 1963 Ford Fairlane 4-door project car. This car has been heavily modified, but is incomplete in its current state. Originally equipped with a 200ci 6 cylinder w/automatic, this car now has a newly built 347ci stroker motor and rebuilt 4-speed Top Loader transmission. This car runs, drives, and brakes at low speeds, but is incomplete and will require additional work (listed below) to be made roadworthy. The interior and exterior have remained mostly untouched since I bought the car, and could use some work as well. This car has spent most of its life in California, so it is mostly free of any deep rusting except where I have mentioned it. Includes many additional parts in the trunk (extra pair of original wheels, carb tuning kit, trim pieces, etc) that you may need to complete this project. I have kept receipts for almost all of the parts on the car, as well as documentation for the aftermarket parts installed. A complete list of all the work done to the car is as follows: Engine bay completely stripped, sandblasted, and coated with bedlinerAll engine bay and front end parts sandblasted and painted blackPassenger side framerail and battery tray completely replaced where they had rusted out Stock front suspension and steering rebuilt with new bushings and shocks Lowered front and rear (1.5 coils cut in front, reversed 2 leafs in rear) Scarebird front disk brake kit installed with Mustang rotors and Maverick master cylinder, brand new front lines and proportioning valve in rear15" chrome smoothie wheels in front w/new tires, balanced Engine & transmission specs:347 Ford Stroker Motor (.030 over '78 block)Probe/Coast High Performance rotating assembly (fully balanced)10.5:1 compression ratio Converted to roller valvetrain with Howard's Cams linked roller liftersComp Cams XE274HR Hydraulic Roller CamshaftScorpion 1.6 roller rockers Trick Flow TFS170 Twisted Wedge cylinder headsSummit intake manifold (RPM Air-Gap style)ARP head bolts and main studsWindage trayDoug's Tri-Y headers Aluminum radiator (2 row, 1" tubes) Professional Products Powerfire distributorFord Racing plug wires Summit 750CFM carburetorSummit mechanical fuel pump3/8" steel fuel line front to rearFord 1G alternatorNew batteryHydraulic clutch master & slave cylinder to replace mechanical linkage Toploader 4 speed transmission with wide-ratio gearing, rebuilt with kit from Toploader Heaven This car does have its share of problems, which I'll do my best to disclose to you here. Externally, the clearcoat is flaking off, and there is some body filler that has cracked along the driver's side door. The exterior does have quite a bit of body filler in it, although exactly how much I can't be sure of. The interior does need to be redone, as well. The seats were reupholstered before, but the springs in the front seat are sagging. the carpet in it was replaced, but does not fit the area around the shifter anymore after the manual was swapped in. A plate also needs to be fabricated to fill the hole that has been cut in the floor around the shifter handle. The headliner is completely gone. The passenger side floorboard should probably be replaced, but doesn't have any holes in it yet. The engine is untuned right now, and runs very rich. The hydraulic clutch slave cylinder currently leaks fluid, and so has to be bled and refilled every once in a while before driving it. There is one very slow leak coming from the transmission tailhousing gasket, and a small coolant leak around the heater hose outlet on the intake manifold. The brakes, while operational, most likely need to be adjusted as they do not work very well right now. The transmission should be shimmed to sit higher in the transmission tunnel, as it currently hangs slightly too low. Also, there is no exhaust at the moment, so it is extremely loud. I've had the car up into 2nd gear on the street in its current condition. It's close to being roadworthy, but as you can see this is still very much a project, and will need to be towed away. I am selling it because it requires more attention than I can give it right now. While I've tried to list all the major issues with this car, there are many more that are either too small to mention, or I'm just not aware of, and for this reason the sale of this car is completely AS-IS. Ask as many questions as you need, and I'll do my best to answer them. I would encourage you to come look at it before placing a bid, if possible. Located in Springfield, Missouri, but registered in California with a clean title and no back-fees (current non-operational status.) Buyer is responsible for shipping/transportation costs. I can work with you to ship it off or load it on a trailer.
