A truck with a genuine 1930s feel like this one begs for a lazy Sunday drive, and reminds you of the serenity that a country road can provide. This pickup's exceptional condition is rare, because most from this era were purchased to be lifelong workhorses and not many survived. It does have a touch of indulgence with the chrome lights and grille from Chevrolet's AD line, but the rest of the body is much more industrial. It's a two-tone reminder of an honest day's work. In fact, its labor credentials feel so legitimate, there's a temptation to stencil your name down the side with your fictitious feed-n-seed company. We won't stop you, but please don't ruin the quality cream and black paint already on this truck. The polished wood bed looks perfect on this pickup. It's obvious that the rear has been restored somewhat recently because wood can't go untouched 85 years on this earth and continue to look this good. Still, just like the rest of the truck, the history has been respected. A nice touch is the classic trunk mounted in the bed. This allows for room to securely store gear without taking up precious interior space. Inside is a cab built for long-lasting function. The vinyl bench seat is intact and very authentic. There was a new dashboard panel engineered for 1930 that carried an array of round gauges for speed, mileage, oil, water, and power. A special innovation for this year was a new electronic gasoline gauge developed by Delco. Someone has taken amazing care to make sure all of these readouts are still working today. The four-spoke wood wheel was purely functional decades ago, but today it is beautifully artistic. The three-speed manual has a purposeful metallic feel. There is no radio, but I'm willing to bet that on every road trip you'll create a mental soundtrack of blues, jazz, and swing. If you're not into making your own music, there is one other sound that never gets old. The 194 cubic-inch straight-six motor gives off an industrial symphony of simplicity. It is a rhythmic chug that feels like being in charge of a mini locomotive as the tempo increases with the acceleration. The ride is another exercise in minimalism. Leaf springs, solid wheels, and bias ply tires are far from modern, which makes them perfect in this time capsule of a pickup. The full experience of being behind the wheel is to feel rolling history. This Chevy is special because it was built at GM's Janesville, Wisconsin factory. This is a facility that held the record as GM's oldest running factory until the assembly line went idle in 2009. Caring for this truck is like watching over a part of this story. An authentic vintage truck is a huge part of American history. There will be no speed records in this pickup, but for the right person, every day can be Sunday. And wait and see the looks and crowds that will gather. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Frame Off Restored Onyx Bel Air Convertible 283 Power Pack V8 3 Speed Manual PS Year: 1957 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Black Mileage: 844 Transmission type: 3 Speed Manual Engine: 283 V8 Interior color: Black Silver & Red Vehicle Info This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible is without a doubt one of the finest vehicles in our RK Motors Charlotte showroom. It's a true Onyx Black car complete with a correct red and metallic silver interior that is simply breathtaking. With only 844 miles on the odometer since an exhaustive restoration, it features all the correct details that make these iconic cars some of the most sought after classics ever made. If you've been looking for a rare, investment grade '57 Chevrolet we have your car. The trim tag decodes as follows: STYLE 57-1067DTX = 57: 1957 Model year, 1067DTX: Bel Air convertible BODY # L18455 = Lansing Michigan built body, number 18455 from that plant for the 1957 model year TRIM 683 = Red imitation leather with metallic silver imitation leather accents PAINT 793 = Onyx Black The VIN number; VC57J195338, also shows this to be a V8 powered (V) Bel Air ( C ) that was assembled in Janesville (J) Wisconsin. Frame off restored over a three year period, this '57 Bel Air uses high quality parts and makes no excuses. The first thing you notice when you walk up to this car is the straight black paint job that is as deep as the car is long. Every piece of the body was made liquid smooth with narrow panel gaps that allow the doors, hood and trunk to close with solidity and sureness. Then mirror-like Onyx Black paint was generously applied and resulted in a car that looks stunning and is sure to elicit double takes wherever it goes. The front bumper, designed to make the car look wider than it actually is, presents a show worthy shine and is every bit as straight as the cars body. It houses a proper gold Bel Air grille that looks brand new and prominently displays a chrome grille bar with clear marker lights and a pristine Chevrolet crest. Above that Chevrolet crest, the chrome hood trim lines up perfectly with the edges of the bumper and sits below Bel Air exclusive gold hood ornamentation that contrasts well against the Onyx Black paint. At the top of the hood, '57 Chevrolet 'spear bullets and spoons' shine like they're fresh out of the factory and at the leading edge of the fenders, clear headlights live in perfect chrome housings. At the sides of the car, classic tri-five Chevy stainless runs from the front fenders to the rear fins and shows no signs of imperfections. Bel Air exclusive gold script and emblems that are housed within the stainless look nice enough to be showroom fresh. On the bottom half of the car, stainless rocker moldings are dent free perfectly reflecting our concrete showroom floor. Front fender louvers ride above the stainless trim and are coated in gold to perfectly match the hood script and rear fender emblems. Excellent looking stainless runs from the convertible boot around the curved windshield and complements chrome wipers, a chrome passenger fender mounted antenna and a correct chrome driver's side mirror. At the back of the car, stainless trim begins at the top of the fins just behind the power top and continues down to tail lights that are surrounded by chrome and sit on top of a show worthy rear bumper. Another Bel Air exclusive gold "Chevrolet" script above a matching gold "V" on the trunk lid, and stylish fender skirts add the finishing touch. Under the hood, the Onyx black flows down the firewall and into the highly detailed engine bay. Centered in that engine bay is a correct, new for 1957, 283 V8 painted in traditional Chevrolet orange. On top of that 283 is a correctly restored and decaled '57 Chevrolet air filter which feeds air into a correct 4 barrel carburetor. Supplying fuel to that carburetor is new stainless fuel lines that run from a new fuel tank to a correct glass fuel filter housing positioned above the right side of the intake manifold. That correct intake manifold is painted Chevrolet orange to match the block and feeds air and fuel to correct Power Pack heads. On each side of the intake, correct valve covers feature silver "Chevrolet" script and sit above correct bare metal exhaust manifolds which send gas into a true dual exhaust system. At the back of the engine, a correct coil supplies a correct distributor which sends fire to the cylinders through correct GM wires. At the front of the engine, you'll find a correct Onyx Black radiator that sends coolant to the block through correct hoses and clamps. On the driver's side of the motor is a correct oil filler that sits above a correct generator complete with tags. This motor is as completel as the outside of the car; not a detail was missed during the restoration. The frame, finished in chassis black, is stunningly straight and smooth. The floor pans are solid and covered in the same satin black as the rest of the suspension components. Up front, the Chevrolet orange oil pan is as straight and clean as the day it was installed and sits in front of a correct 3-speed manual transmission. The transmission sends power to a driveshaft with correct factory markings and turns a correct rear end that is painted and marked as it originally came out of the factory. The clean front suspension houses the cars correct coil springs and drum brakes along with factory power steering. The rear suspension includes correct leaf springs, correct drum brakes and new shocks. All fuel lines and brake lines were replaced during the restoration and a true dual exhaust that is factory correct was interwoven into the chassis. Keeping the car connected to the pavement is new wheels with chrome spinner style hubcaps that are wrapped in 215/75/14 Coker Classic whitewalls. The theme of perfection spills over to the interior of the car with the striking bright red and metallic silver interior. The stylish, curved '57 Chevy dash is painted bright red and features spectacular stainless trim across the width of the car. The gauge pod, detailed in chrome, includes a bow-tie equipped speedometer, a fuel gauge and a temperature gauge. In the middle of the dash you'll find an AM/FM radio and on the passenger's side you'll find more exclusive gold "Bel Air" script and a factory clock. Stainless trim frames the inside of the windows while the stainless from the dash flows into the silver accents on the flawless two tone door panels. Fully restored bright red bench seats feel firm to the touch and feature metallic silver accents and stainless trim. The two tone theme on the front door panels is carried onto the rear door panels and flows past the rear seat to disappear under the red convertible cowl. Up front, silver kick panels highlight the curved dash and look great next to red detailed Bel Air floor mats that protect the new black carpet. The centerpiece of the interior is a red steering column that holds a chrome shifter for the 3-speed transmission and a correct red steering wheel complete with chrome horn ring and classic Chevrolet Bel Air centerpiece. Documentation included with this car includes a history of title holders and photos taken during and after the restoration. This 1957 Bel Air will stun even the harshest critics. It's a highly desirable 50's convertible that is a blue chip, investment grade car thanks to a detailed and accurate restoration. It has all of the right stuff and is absolutely one of the top 1957 Chevrolet convertibles on the planet. About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final. This is exactly why we created the RKM Performance Center. Being proud members of SEMA, ARMO, HRIA and the North Carolina Motorsports Association, the RKM Performance Center is a nationally recognized shop; best known for high level OEM restorations and custom builds. You put it on a diet, check the option box beside L72 and bolt up a tough Muncie 4-speed! When it comes to performance, durability and sheer intimidation, nothing beats a good old GM workhorse. And, thanks to their simplicity and heavy duty hardware, cars like the Chevrolet Biscayne are ideal foundations for killer sleepers with monstrous horsepower. This sleek sedan, 1 of 183 L72-powered 'Bisquicks' produced for the 1966 model year and 1 of only 11 believed to still exist, is the literal embodiment of brute force. Amenities like manual steering and a tough F41 suspension make it the perfect car for authentic driving experiences, while classic lines, a simple interior and miles of smooth lacquer are sure to wow the purists. Looking for an award-winning investment that's road ready, show-ready and just plain battle-ready? This fully-sorted Chevy has it all! Simple, sinister and accurate. That's how we'd describe this exclusive Biscayne. And, not surprisingly, that's exactly what the car's VIN, cowl tag and original window sticker have to say as well. So, on Thursday, May 12th, he headed to Larson Chevrolet to trade almost even for this beastly Chevy Biscayne. John thought, rightfully so, that Chevrolet's L72 427 could be a lot of fun in the blue collar brand's most blue collar offering, and he spent much of the next year enjoying his new toy at local drag strips. In June of 1967, when John headed to Vietnam to defend our freedom, the Biscayne found its second owner in 20 year old Leroy Levens. Still wet behind the ears, Levens threw a few go fast pieces on the car and promptly blew its original engine. Luckily, a service replacement block was located and Levens, honing his racing skills on both the road and track, eventually blistered the strip with a best time of 12.69 @ 106MPH. As the years passed, Levens continued to back the car out of the garage for sunny day joyrides and, eventually, coordinated a frame-off restoration which included a roster of NOS components. In 1986, sporting fresh Tuxedo Black lacquer, the Bisquick caught the eye of New Jersey resident Joseph Fasano. And, after 24 months of negotiations, Fasano purchased the car and promptly detailed it to factory-correct guise using many dated components. The next 25 years included a lot of time on the trailer, many award-winning appearances at Super Chevy shows and a couple hundred miles of careful road time. And, circa 2013, the car was purchased by its current, Ohio-based owner who spent $7,000 and 300 hours freshening its original sheetmetal and smooth lacquer paint. With a wet-look finish and subtle branding, this Biscayne is an intentionally low-key take on the fundamentals of every hard-edged muscle car: tough looks, sturdy components, reduced weight and tons of power! At the front of the car, a broad stainless grille hangs a bright Chevrolet crest and small AACA plaque between a two-tone bumper, four T3 headlights and clear parking lamps. At the sides of that grille, mandatory door handles and a bowtie-branded mirror complement the natural simplicity of NOS ornamentation. At the tops of those handles, straight stainless trim highlights correctly-dated glass. And at the back of the car, 'plain Jane' tail lamps float between a broad chrome bumper, a second Chevrolet crest and an off-set "Chevrolet" script. Pop this sedan's wide hood and you'll find a fully detailed, date-correct 427 which is branded with a familiar 3869942 casting number. Introduced as the ultimate option for street-prowling bowties, Chevrolet's storied L72 big block spins stout 11 to 1 compression into an as advertised 425 horsepower. At the top of the all-business mill, an NOS dual-snorkel air cleaner funnels wind through a correct Holley 3246 carburetor. That carb rides on a correct Winters intake, which hangs between correct, cast iron heads that benefit from 3-angle valve jobs. Those heads sit on a .030-bored block that's fitted with stock pistons and a correct L72 solid lifter cam. At the back of that cam, correct but deactivated transistor ignition shoots spark through date-coded Packard TV R Suppression cables. Below those cables, correct exhaust manifolds jettison baked Sinclair into a big, true-dual exhaust system. In front of those manifolds, GM-coded belts spin a correct alternator above an NOS fan clutch and idler pulley. And, at the front of the engine, an original, L72 Biscayne-exclusive radiator is fitted with a correct shroud, a correct finger guard, GM-branded hoses and old school tower clamps. Bright Chevy Orange paint coats the block and, as always, looks great against a fully finished hood and glossy inner fenders. Correct decals are present and accounted for. And niceties such as stainless fuel lines, a Delco-branded coil and a high quality Delco battery topper ensure the car looks just as good as it runs. Park this Biscayne on a lift and you'll find a solid undercarriage that's been no stranger to mirrors and occasional flash bulbs. Straight floorpans, restored in the same Satin Black livery that details the car's engine bay, ride on a sturdy black frame. An era-correct Muncie feeds a familiar GM 12-bolt, which spins a posi-traction differential around big, 4.56 gears. Under that capable drivetrain, a completely rebuilt F41 sports suspension is equipped with manual steering and 4-wheel drum brakes. At the center of the floors, an aluminized, true-dual exhaust system utilizes throaty turbo mufflers to weave an aggressive, full-throttle rumble into a subdued and classy idle. At the corners of the suspension, great looking G78-14 Goodyear Power Streak IIs frame painted steelies and red-detailed hub caps. And everything, from this Chevy's NOS shocks to its leak-free fuel tank, is fully restored and ready to hit the pavement. Decked in correct red hides, this sedan's stunning interior has been returned to factory-fresh condition in virtually every way. The wide bench seats feel newer than their NOS covers suggest, and present just as well now as the day they rolled out of the dealership. At the base of those seats, like-new carpet is protected by thick, color-keyed floor mats. At the sides of that carpet, a combination of original and reproduction door panels hang straight stainless trim around simple chrome handles and small, modernist armrests. At the front of those panels, a restored dash, which features a rare, 7,000RPM tachometer, carries what appears to be a correct radio. At the base of that dash, a stylish chrome shifter rows around an NOS boot and baseplate. Opposite that shifter, an original mirror fronts a bright white headliner. In front of the driver, a color-keyed steering wheel spins around a classy blue bowtie. And behind the passengers, a spattered trunk seals a full-size spare tire below clean decklid decals. In the golden era, few muscle cars could hang with Chevrolet's 'taxi cab special'. And today, few collector cars can eclipse its status as one of the baddest street bruisers to ever wear a bowtie. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air Restored Bel Air Bubble Top 409 Dual Quad V8 4 Speed Year: 1962 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Black Mileage: 99437 Transmission type: 4 Speed Manual Engine: 409 V8 Interior color: Blue Vehicle info In 1962 the Beach Boys paid tribute to a legendary Chevrolet powerplant when they released the song "409". During "409" they talk about taking her to the track where she really shines and always turns in the fastest times. This 1962 Bel Air 'bubble top' could have easily been the car the Beach Boys were referencing. Completely restored, equipped with a 409 horsepower/409 cubic inch big block and sporting an Aqua bench seat interior, this Chevy is ready to start winning awards! This gorgeous full-size is the beneficiary of a professional restoration that stands today as a pristine example of how incredible a 60s-era Chevy can be. Before we get too far into the car's description, let's decode the VIN. VIN: 21537JXXXXXX2: 1962 model year15: Bel Air 637: 2-door sport coupe (bubble top)J: Built in Janesville, WisconsinXXXXXX: Production sequence number The 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air bubble top was carried over from 1961 even as other full-sized Chevrolets migrated to the convertible-look roof profile. The bubble top Chevy's lighter weight and superior aerodynamics made it a favorite with drag racers who already knew the 409's vast potential. Assembled during the fourth week of October, 1962, this sinister-looking Bel Air bubble top 4-speed has been professionally repainted. Its Tuxedo Black paint complemented with matching station wagon steel wheels, Firehawk blackwall tires and an Aqua bench seat interior. Evocative details abound, from its highly detailed engine compartment and undercarriage to a column-mounted tachometer and below-dash auxiliary gauges. By the late 50s, the rise of the pushrod V8 in production passenger cars made one thing abundantly clear: cubic inches ruled. It was natural then that the factories responded to each other's escalating performance with that very recipe. And at the dawn of the 60s, Chevrolet laid down a historic marker with their big block W-head design. Originally displacing 348 cubic inches, the mill grew to 409 cubic inches in 1961, establishing the archetypal muscle car as one with big block power and, more importantly, creating an American pop culture legend immortalized by the Beach Boys in their hit song "409". This 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air embodies that legend at its most potent: an improved block casting, larger valves, a higher compression ratio, a solid lifter cam and dual Carter AFB 4-barrels that combine to produce a magical 409 horsepower. The car's engine compartment immediately shines thanks in part to silver valve covers and a Satin Black air cleaner. On both sides of the aforementioned carburetors are correct orange cylinder heads. And overall, the detailing involved in this bubble top's restoration is absolutely excellent. Put this Chevy on a lift and you'll see a Satin Black frame that's complemented by Satin Black floorpans. The beefy 409 spins power to a correct rear end thanks to a tough Borg Warner 4-speed. Spent gasses travel down factory manifolds and exit out dual-chamber Flowmaster mufflers to create a nice, vintage rumble. Familiar drum brakes, which can be found at all four corners, are responsible for dampening the massive power. Turns come courtesy of fresh power steering. And, at the corners of the chassis, Firehawk Indy 500 blackwalls circle stainless, Chevrolet-stamped hub caps. Open the doors and you'll reveal a striking Aqua interior that impresses just as much as the rest of the vehicle. Naturally, the pigment is extremely vibrant and, in the middle of that pigment, thick bench seats are in excellent shape and show little to no signs of wear. In front of those seats, an Aqua dash hangs small accessory gauges and a stainless tissue box beneath factory telemetry and gorgeous chrome trim. At the base of that dash, like-new carpet frames a small chrome shifter. At the sides of that carpet, 2-tone door panels hang bright handles and pliable armrests between pristine stainless trim and dent-free Fisher sills. In front of the driver, an Aqua steering wheel spins chrome-trimmed spokes around a beefy, 7,000 RPM tachometer. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk hides crisp mats and a full-size tire beneath fresh decklid decals. This 1962 Bel Air bubble top impresses every chance it gets. The car's body is close to flawless. The powerful big block is more than capable of sitting you back in your seat. And the Aqua interior is simply stunning. If you're in the market for a cool, full-size Chevy, you won't find another example as nice as this one. Don't miss your chance to own this sinister Bel Air! [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Frame Off Restored Bel Air Convertible 283 Power Pack V8 3 Speed Year: 1957 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Black Mileage: 844 Transmission type: 3 Speed Manual Engine: 283 V8 Interior color: Black Silver & Red Vehicle info This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible is without a doubt one of the finest vehicles in our RK Motors Charlotte showroom. About this auction & rk motors charlotte Please note that all sales are binding and final. VIN: 21537JXXXXXX2: 1962 model year15: Bel Air37: 2-door sport coupe (bubble top)J: Built in Janesville, WisconsinXXXXXX: Production sequence number The 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air bubble top was carried over from 1961 even as other full-sized Chevrolets migrated to the convertible-look roof profile.
