1971 Oldsmobile 442Ultra Rare, Matching Numbers, W30 ConvertibleDocumented in the W30 Registry!1 of 10 ProducedEarliest Production Known to Exist & Loaded with Factory Options!Oldsmobile produced only 110 442 W-30 convertibles in 1971, only 10 of which, including this stunning example, were factory equipped with air conditioning. This car is included in the W-30 Registry and has been inspected and verified as an authentic W-30 by a noted W-30/442 authority. A very rare example of Doctor Oldsmobile's finest muscle-car convertible, this W-30 retains its original drivetrain comprising its original numbers-matching engine, transmission and rear end. The engine and W-30-only OW-code transmission bear the original VIN stampings and the original rear axle housing shows the unique code for W-30 cars equipped with factory air conditioning. The car retains the original parts exclusive to the W-30 package, including the original red fender liners, factory GM H-code cylinder heads, OW-code automatic transmission, factory intake manifold, correctly stamped 7041257 carb, 1112034 distributor and other parts unique to the W-30. Finished in its original color of Matador Red and complemented with a White top and interior and White rally stripes on its W-25 Open Air Induction Ram Air Induction Hood, this is one of the most striking color combinations that ever left the Lansing, Michigan, plant. This car is not only the top-of-the-line W-30 but was also ordered with a multitude of options making it even more rare. The factory options list includes the W-30 455 CI engine, 400 Turbo Hydra-Matic high-shift-point automatic transmission with Hurst Dual Gate shifter, factory air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, power top, power steering, tilt column, sport steering wheel, rally gauges, AM/FM Radio with 8-Track tape player, power front disc brakes, and power trunk release. It would likely be impossible to find a more thoroughly equipped and visually arresting W-30 convertible with factory air conditioning. Perhaps the earliest W-30 convertible built, it is believed to be a factory show car. According to GM factory records it was delivered to the GM factory warehouse in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in January of ’71 destined for Midwest car-show duty. A body-off restoration was performed in the mid '80s, when typical rust repair was necessary due to the car’s Midwestern origins. Body panels were sourced from a rust-free donor car and used to keep the car all-original GM sheet metal. After passing through a handful of long-term owners, this factory-air W-30 convertible was purchased by muscle-car collector Mike Guarise. Because of the significance of this car, Mike had the car restored again in 2014 to a much higher standard. The 300SEL 6.3 started out as an auspicious personal project by company engineer and amateur racer Erich Waxenberger, who was able to somehow squeeze the heralded 6.3L V8 M100 engine from the flagship 600 limousine into the popular Paul Bracq designed W109 body, which until that point was offered only with a 6-cylinder engine. Seeing the opportunity to more comprehensively utilize the M100s production facilities, Mercedes surprisingly decided to slate the car for production, developing Waxenberger’s weekend project into the ultimate wolf in sheep’s clothing – an elegant and supremely comfortable sedan that provided performance similar to – if not better than – most of the dedicated sports cars of the era. Rare Opportunity............................LOW RESERVE Extra Nice Cadillac!! Greetings to All!! imotors is quite pleased to offer possibly one of the nicest 1960 Caddys Available anywhere! 1960, IMHO was the re-designed '59!! We ALL love 1959 Cadillacs, with those huge fins, and quad bullet tail lights. I spent many hours in one as a child, and those memories are etched in my mind forever!! I am now 61, and that was at least 50 years ago! We travelled from Pittsburgh, Pa to Milwaukee Wisconsin in one more than once. Four small children in the backseat with no DVD players, or even a walkman!! I am surprised that we all survived!! This particular example has spent most of it's life in New York State. I purchased it from a fellow who just did not have the means to care for it properly, or bring it to the level that you see here. I believe that it has had one repaint sometime in it's life. It is mechanically fantastic with fresh brakes(lines, cylinders etc.), and new dual exhaust from front to back. The floors and frame are totally solid and original, with no patching noted anywhere. We had the car painted from the molding down, and Expertly re-patched the bottoms of both front fenders. The chrome is bright and shiny with some light pitting on the trunk molding that you can feel, and some on the rear bumper that you can't feel, but can see on close up inspection. You will note in the many detailed photos below, that there is a small rust hole in the right rear bumper end. Easily repaired or replaced next winter while the Caddy is in storage! The Fawn interior is original with the exception of the front seat, and the headliner. Both have been expertly restored with original materials from SMS by the famous Weimann's interiors in Delmont, Pa! As you will see in the photos below, it is simply Gorgeous, and looks just like it did in 1960!! There is one typical crack in the dashpad. I decided to let the lucky new owner decide what to do with this...Dash cap, or new pad, or leave as is. Everything works as it should with the exception of the clock, and the power antenna. All power windows and seat, along with the AM Radio. What is nice about this one is that is has Factory installed A/C that blows cold! This is a Gorgeous 1960 Cadillac that runs and drives fantastic. It always starts right up, and has been ultra-dependable!!! I have driven it a few hundred miles with no noted issues. It has been a pleasure, and rides just as you would expect a Cadillac to ride...like you are on a cloud! As you will notice at the end of the presentation, there is a trail of ownership from 1960 until now. Long term ownership indicates care and pride, which I believe this 1960 Cadillac has enjoyed it's entire life!!! He has owned this truck for a number of years now, I think around 5. My dad travels to Florida for the winters so the truck is not driven in the winter and doesn't get beat by the salt and nasty road stuff that really just tears vehicles up here in WI as you already know. There is no rust on this truck. The truck is in great shape. There are minimal chips or scratches in the truck. The truck looks great and drives great. Being the guy he is my dad always has the oil changed and whenever anything comes up he always has it fixed or addressed. This truck is primarily used as his daily driver. 99% of the time its just him inside with nothing in the back. He does occasionally pull a trailer with ATV's on it a few times a year and of course you got your normal runs to home depot or menards type stuff. The interior is just as clean as the exterior. There are no rips or tears in the seats. Its not all beat up inside. Its got your standard am/fm stereo, cruise control, crank windows, vinyl floors and seats. My dad likes the basic interior, he says its a lot easier to keep clean. The previous owner prior to my dad had some stuff mounted to the dash, so there are some screw holes that will remind you, something used to be here. The truck has been well cared for and maintained, oil changed every 3k miles, tires rotated all that stuff. With presently 161,780 miles it is his daily driver so this will change. the truck runs just like it should. The engine fires right up and idles smoothly. The engine has tons of power and pep to get things moving. The transmission is in perfect working order and it shifts though all of its gears just as it should. The tires are all in pretty good shape all around. The spare tire cable underneath is broken, but my dad doesn't even carry it with him. He has the spare tire but says if he gets a flat he isn't going to change it, he has triple A. If he takes the truck on a longer trip he will throw the spare in the bed just in case but locally doesn't even bother. The truck is a 4 door super cab. It has the extended cab or half cab whatever you want to call it with the bench seat in the back that folds up. It has a 6' bed. The bed is lined with the paint on diy kit you buy from the auto store. It actually holds up surprisingly well. Well again overall its an original texas truck, then my dads who goes to florida in winter. So its a salt free rust free truck. It has been maintained with the best of care by its first and second owners. It has no issues whatsoever. It is my dads daily driver, he just drove it up north twice within the last month and would not hesitate to drive it anyplace in the country right now. This truck is primarily used as his daily driver. 99% of the time its just him inside with nothing in the back. He does occasionally pull a trailer with ATV's on it a few times a year and of course you got your normal runs to home depot or menards type stuff. The interior is just as clean as the exterior. There are no rips or tears in the seats. Its not all beat up inside. Its got your standard am/fm stereo, cruise control, crank windows, vinyl floors and seats. My dad likes the basic interior, he says its a lot easier to keep clean. The previous owner prior to my dad had some stuff mounted to the dash, so there are some screw holes that will remind you, something used to be here. The truck has been well cared for and maintained, oil changed every 3k miles, tires rotated all that stuff. With presently 161,780 miles it is his daily driver so this will change. the truck runs just like it should. The engine fires right up and idles smoothly. The engine has tons of power and pep to get things moving. The transmission is in perfect working order and it shifts though all of its gears just as it should. The tires are all in pretty good shape all around. The spare tire cable underneath is broken, but my dad doesn't even carry it with him. He has the spare tire but says if he gets a flat he isn't going to change it, he has triple A. If he takes the truck on a longer trip he will throw the spare in the bed just in case but locally doesn't even bother. The truck is a 4 door super cab. It has the extended cab or half cab whatever you want to call it with the bench seat in the back that folds up. It has a 6' bed. The bed is lined with the paint on diy kit you buy from the auto store. It actually holds up surprisingly well. Well again overall its an original texas truck, then my dads who goes to florida in winter. So its a salt free rust free truck. It has been maintained with the best of care by its first and second owners. It has no issues whatsoever. It is my dads daily driver, he just drove it up north twice within the last month and would not hesitate to drive it anyplace in the country right now.
