That has undergone a nut and bolt transformation complete with photo documentation, notes from the builder, and every recite for all parts and labor spent completing this show truck. The International Harvester Company’s K and KB series of trucks are known for their prewar design in the postwar era. The KB series is basically a K series truck with wings surrounding the grille, chrome wrap-around hood trim, chrome hood ornament, and chrome model designation lettering. These trucks were the workhorses of many companies’ fleets, because of their low cost, simplicity, and most importantly their legendary reliability. This resto-mod KB-1 is in fantastic condition it could be used as a true daily driver. From the paint down to the frame, every detail of this truck has been done with quality in mind. Solid foundation for a good project.Engine turns over and runs great, first time and every time.Has 2 extra gas tanks and fuel pumps for long trips.Was originally going to pillage the drive train all the way down to the Dana 44 axles for another project due to back DMV fees, however lack of time and space prohibits.Back California fees are around $650.00 if you wanted to register and restore. Clear Title.Rust is minimal and fairly localized to rear wheel wells and bed. Rockers, floor panels, door posts and frame all fine. 345 Motor with Air conditioning, Dana 44's, front disc brakes (3:73), 4 speed transmission.New fuel pump, battery, thermostat and fluids just because it sat for a while.If it didn't need new front brake lines, I'd say you could drive it away.I know a good towing company or if you have your own, I would be more than happy to help with the shipment/transportation process.If I forgot anything, please feel free to email with questions! After a century of building all varieties of trucks and settling into mostly commercial vehicles, International celebrated its 100th birthday by reentering the medium-duty truck market with its brand-new MXT. Aimed at an upscale crowd that still demands the looks and performance of a real truck, the MXT is a true 4X4 that can tow fifth-wheels with ease. It's born from the same ideals as a large truck designed for military use--it offers carrying flexibility, durability in extreme conditions, and incredible strength. However, a truck like this, tricked out for civilian use, has just one purpose--letting its owner show off. That's exactly what the new MXT does. We first saw this truck three years ago, when International, a major player in the civilian heavy-truck industry and increasingly in the world of military transport, unveiled the military-spec SmarTruck III concept and a commercial variant (Truck Trend, July/August 2004). The commercial version became the MXT, an intimidating, highly capable machine. Riding on 40-inch tires, the three-and-a-half-ton MXT is seven and a half feet tall, eight feet wide, and 21 feet long. Its 300-horsepower V-8 diesel engine makes 530 pound-feet of torque, which is pushed through an Allison 2200 RDS five-speed automatic transmission. Bringing the truck to a halt are four-channel ABS hydraulic brakes. The truck's large blunt nose and bumper cutaways let it climb like a goat over obstacles--grinding them up with all four wheels in one of two 4WD gear ranges. The short rear overhang prevents the truck from getting hung up--but even if it did, the aircraft-carrier-size tow hooks would make quick work of hauling it off whatever smaller vehicle it was stuck on. In the back, the deep, seven-foot cargo box is lined with chromed checker plate and is built to carry two tons of cargo while the standard rear hitch will tow another eight. It hauls these weights on a 6500-pound front-drive axle and an 11,000-pound-capacity rear one. Inside, it carries five in upgraded, air-conditioned comfort. Its crew cab rides on an airbag suspension system that isolates the cab's movements from those of the chassis. What's it like to drive something this size? Because the MXT is equipped with an automatic transmission and power steering, maneuvering it is surprisingly easy, and the tall seating and truck's blunt features offer a solid, spatial sense. Lane management is a snap and the backup camera prevents any Prius from being accidentally crushed. The one caveat is the turning radius--it reminds us of a line from an old country song: "Give me my 40 acres and I'll turn this rig around." It's kind of like that. Still, there are benefits that make up for the need to make wide turns. Pulling up to a stoplight inBarrie(nearToronto,Canada), the MXT slid in alongside a tinny-sounding racer wannabe piloted by a driver who felt the need to share his thumping bass with the rest of the community. His eye line was about even with the truck's runningboard. When we did a decibel test by revving the diesel (in neutral) to 2000 rpm, the thumping bass miraculously stopped. 3284 Here is what motor trend had to say The new MXT is an ego-boosting, earth-shaking show-stopper. It's born from the same ideals as a large truck designed for military use--it offers carrying flexibility, durability in extreme conditions, and incredible strength. However, a truck like this, tricked out for civilian use, has just one purpose--letting its owner show off. That's exactly what the new MXT does. We first saw this truck three years ago, when International, a major player in the civilian heavy-truck industry and increasingly in the world of military transport, unveiled the military-spec SmarTruck III concept and a commercial variant (Truck Trend, July/August 2004). The commercial version became the MXT, an intimidating, highly capable machine. Riding on 40-inch tires, the three-and-a-half-ton MXT is seven and a half feet tall, eight feet wide, and 21 feet long. Its 300-horsepower V-8 diesel engine makes 530 pound-feet of torque, which is pushed through an Allison 2200 RDS five-speed automatic transmission. Bringing the truck to a halt are four-channel ABS hydraulic brakes. The truck's large blunt nose and bumper cutaways let it climb like a goat over obstacles--grinding them up with all four wheels in one of two 4WD gear ranges. The short rear overhang prevents the truck from getting hung up--but even if it did, the aircraft-carrier-size tow hooks would make quick work of hauling it off whatever smaller vehicle it was stuck on. In the back, the deep, seven-foot cargo box is lined with chromed checker plate and is built to carry two tons of cargo while the standard rear hitch will tow another eight. It hauls these weights on a 6500-pound front-drive axle and an 11,000-pound-capacity rear one. Inside, it carries five in upgraded, air-conditioned comfort. Its crew cab rides on an airbag suspension system that isolates the cab's movements from those of the chassis. What's it like to drive something this size? Because the MXT is equipped with an automatic transmission and power steering, maneuvering it is surprisingly easy, and the tall seating and truck's blunt features offer a solid, spatial sense. Lane management is a snap and the backup camera prevents any Prius from being accidentally crushed. The one caveat is the turning radius--it reminds us of a line from an old country song: "Give me my 40 acres and I'll turn this rig around." It's kind of like that. Still, there are benefits that make up for the need to make wide turns. Pulling up to a stoplight inBarrie(nearToronto,Canada), the MXT slid in alongside a tinny-sounding racer wannabe piloted by a driver who felt the need to share his thumping bass with the rest of the community. His eye line was about even with the truck's runningboard. When we did a decibel test by revving the diesel (in neutral) to 2000 rpm, the thumping bass miraculously stopped. I have for sale a 1979 Scout, this Scout has been completely restored, THERE IS NO RUST!!!! The Scout has new carpet, upholstery, cup holder console, working cruse control, working AC, tilt steering column, rally steering wheel, power steering and power brakes. The truck has every option that was available in 1979. I am also including a full set of skid plates I had powder coated for the truck, note they are not installed.  Engine is the International 304, rebuilt with less than 5000 miles, runs as new with no leaks and uses no oil between oil changes. Transmission is the 727, rebuilt with less than 5000 miles, no leaks and shifts as new. Transfer case Dana 20 cleaned checked and serviced with synthetic gear oil. Axles are Dana 44s fully serviced with synthetic gear oil, run quite and smooth. I just repacked the front wheel bearings and installed new Warn locking hubs. Also has new brakes, tires and wheels. I have also installed new 4 core radiator, new fan shroud, AC system is brand new with all modern components blows cold. The Scout has just been completely serviced and in ready for years of service. I stripped the body to bare metal. replaced the quarter panels, front floors, and front cab mounts, also cleaned and inspected the entire truck, there is no rust and everything works as new or better on this Scout. The lower portion of the Scout is sprayed with color matched bed liner as well as the interior floors and bed sides. The Scout has new base/clear paint in the factory color, along with a clear stone guard on the front grill. I have completed many frame off restorations on Scouts and this one is as good as it gets.
