Has a bad motor, and does not run. Possible cracked block, coolant in radiator is what initiated seller to park it. Seller will not ship, buyer is responsible for pickup. This was a rig that would go anywhere when it ran. Transmission and rest of power train was still operational when it was parked. New brakes and ball joints were installed in 2014. Tires were new in 2014 with less than 15,000 miles on them. Cracked windshield prior to current owner.

I am selling my beloved adventure vehicle - my '89 Trooper with 4 wheel drive, V6 2.8L engine and manual transmission! If you are looking at this ad then you know just how amazing and versatile this vehicle is! This Trooper is a west coast original. I bought it in Oregon in summer of 2014, where it spent it's entire life with ONE owner who took very very good care of it. I am the second owner and got it to be my ski hill companion shuttling me and my friends up to the slopes. It performs excellently in winter conditions (as you know) and is remarkably fuel efficient for it's age and type. As a west coast truck it has NO RUST. I've had it out east for 2.5 years and each winter I have had full rust-protection applied as well as regular maintenance. I've babied the thing! Things that make this trooper special include the trim package. This one has full automatic windows and locks that work. It has its original cassette stereo and new rear speakers. It also has window tinting in the passenger windows and cargo windows and back door. Rear wiper works great. Heater blows hot. Engine purrs! A couple of cosmetic things: It has a windshield crack, door lower chrome trim is absent (visible in the photos), the passenger seat back pocket is partially torn, there is one small cut in the headliner (which is otherwise perfect) and the usual nicks and scratches you would expect for its age. Equipped with winter tires and brand new all-terrain spare. (ski box not included) The only reason I am selling my trooper is because this summer I bought a work truck that has become invaluable to me in all capacities and I can't afford to keep them both. Time to send Trooper on to its next adventurer! Serious inquiries only.

It has seen very little use since, only a few thousand miles. It was in occasional use until a few years ago. Good ground clearance, full body on ladder-frame, independent front suspension, fuel-injected engine, excellent throttle and clutch action, relatively light, and fuel economy of well over 20MPG when driven carefully. When in low-low, the crawl ratio is very good for a stock SUV. This is a "real truck", not a glorified car or minivan, like many newer "SUVs" The body has some rust, but has been repaired when necessary (new steel welded in and repainted). Fully undercoated. The rockers were cut out and replaced with welded-in heavy-wall square steel tubing, and wooden nerf pads screwed to the sides of this tubing. Years ago, there were some small rust holes in the tubular frame rails, but they were repaired with the "fish plate" method. The snowplow is a 6-1/2 foot Meyer with electric-hydraulic power lift and angle. The plow frame on the vehicle was custom made to fit it. Two complete sets of tires wheels!: 4 nicely-repainted OEM steel wheels with all-terrain tires with VERY little tread wear (not shown). 4 OEM steel wheels from a newer Nissan pickup truck, with 4 Bridgestone Winter Dueler snow tires in good condition (on the truck now). The interior came from a 1991 Trooper of a higher trim level, and is in good condition. Known problems: The return line from the power steering box is leaking significantly around where it threads into the box. We don't know if the fitting is damaged/rusted, or if the leak comes from the PS box itself. The plow raises and lowers normally, but sticks when a power angle adjustment is attempted. The hydraulic cylinders move slightly, so it may be that one of the angle solenoids is stuck or faulty. No other significant issues that we know of. The engine block was rebuilt some time before we bought it. We replaced the cylinder head with a new aftermarket head in 2001, after the notoriously failure prone OEM head cracked. The engine runs very well. Not currently registered, but we have a clear New York title in hand TERMS OF SALE: As-Is, Where Is A deposit of $500 must be received via PayPal or cash in person within 24 hours of a sale.
