We wanted to start this restoration with a solid, complete car so we could restore it using the Original parts and components from this car not second hand or reproduction parts. We meticulously removed every nut and bolt, media blasted them and restored them back to the original manufacture finish. Everything on this car is Correct as when originally assembled new. Call Chris at 330-990-6970 *** About the 1964 E-Type: Jaguar certainly made their mark on the automotive industry when they introduced the E-Type in 1961. The E-Type Jaguar had all of the cutting edge technology. Right out of the box, this car was good for a top speed over 150 mph and 0-60 mph around 6.5 seconds. Technological advances included monocoque construction disc brakes, rack and pinion steering and independent front and rear suspension. One area that Jaguar really hit the nail on the head was the styling. E-types are often referred to as some of the most beautiful vehicles ever made. This particular example is a Series 1 which are considered to be the most desirable and most beautiful. This run from 1961-1967 is known for its covered headlights. The glass headlight covers frame the front mouth opening on either side. This opening is smaller on the Series 1 cars in comparison to the later cars. Other distinguishing features are the rear lights mounted above the bumpers and the exhaust exiting beneath the number plate in the rear. The 3.8L Inline 6 is equipped with triple SU carburetors and is good for an output of 265 horsepower and 240 lb ft of torque. The power is put to the wheels through the Moss four-speed gearbox. These Power figures were highly impressive for this era, especially considering the lightweight construction kept the weight of this roadster under 3000 pounds. This car has correct leather-upholstered bucket seats, Leather-trimmed center instrument panel and console. The vehicle rides on independent suspension all around and features very unique inboard rear brakes. Power disc brakes are standard in all four corners. This particular XKE has been privately owned by the owner of JK Auto Group. The engine and transmission are original to this car and have been completely restored to exact factory specifications. The odometer shows 4 miles since completion as it has been used as a trailer queen for concourse judging and a museum piece since completed. Vehicle Information VIN: 1E79067BW Stock: 0129 Mileage: 56,572 Color: Fawn Trans: Automatic Engine: Inline 6 MPG: Drivetrain: RWD Description Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this fairly complete and decent Series 1.5 2+2 for restoration. This 1968 car was a one year only production model and incorporated a lot of carry-over Series One features including the pretty taillights, earlier bonnet air opening, and attractive smaller bumper set. The 1.5 still carries the panache and silhouette outline of the earlier model's 2+2. This car was recently purchased from it's long term owner from 1991 who planned to restore it but could never find the time. The body on this car appears pretty decent and straight. There was an incident at some point in the past that required replacement of the original picture frame and the RH front subframe. The LH subframe is the original and reveals a kink in it, so it would be wise to replace this during the restoration. Nevertheless, The bonnet gapping appears fairly good and even. The bonnet underbelly/pan looks very straight and unhit. The doors close well. Wheelarchs are very decent. The boot/trunk floor appears pretty good. There is some rust-through in the front and to the rear of the driver's floor. The passenger floor board appears more solid. There is a typical rust spot around the battery box area. The interior trim of the car is pretty original as well as the glass, chrome, dashboard, and instruments and all appear to be in good condition. The windshield was replaced at one time. Work has commenced on restoring some interior items, but best to plan for a complete retrim. The previous owner stated that the car drove well in 1991 with a good engine and gearbox, before being put away for restoration. The engine currently turns by hand but no attempt has been made to start it. It appears this 4.2 unit has been sourced from a later Series 2 car. The exhaust system looks to be in good shape. Overall, a very decent 2+2 that appears very complete for straightforward restoration. With the rise in Series 1 prices, this Series 1.5 car is a good and economical alternative for an entry-level E-type owner.Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions. Thank you for looking at this amazing 1970 Jaguar Etype Cab 4.2. First of all this is a three owner car that has been in the same ownership since 1988, always garaged and mechanically maintained so the owner could jump in her at any time, fire her up, and go for a drive. Grand Prix Cafe have had her on the lift and conclude that this is by far one of the most original Etypes we’ve ever seen, everything is as it should be, other than the after market Borla exhaust, which has a deep rich sound to it. She is showing 54,603 miles, matching numbers, and has a comprehensive service history going back to the 70’s. I personally test drove this car for 20 miles and I’m completely blown away with how she drives, she has bags of power and pulls perfectly with no hesitation through each gear. The transmission is smooth and without any grinding or noise. The clutch is light and all systems work as they should. She drives straight and true and the brakes work as they were designed with no binding or pulling on application. If you are looking for an etype that you can instantly jump in and drive across America then here she is. There are no rattles, she is a real pleasure to drive with absolute confidence. OK so lets get to the bodywork. As you can see from the photos she is cosmetically starting to show her age on an older paint job, but only on close inspection, the panel fit is just right and shows she has likely never been hit. Now if you wanted to spend some money on her then she would benefit from a new coat of paint and all new leather seats and carpets, you could also go for a new set of chrome wire wheels, then you would have a stunning beautiful dark blue Etype with beautiful blue leather interior. I personally have never seen this color combination. The convertible top is in very good condition and fits perfectly. The dash has no cracking and will clean up very nicely. All the chrome is in place and while showing its age it has perfect patina. The tool kit looks like we were the first to open it, everything is as it should be. There is surface rust here and there but nothing structural to worry about. The rear wheel arch will need a more serious repair, see image however, the integrity of the body is very good. There are plenty of restored cars out there for sale however, its very hard to find cars like this that are original and have not been molested. Grand Prix Cafe is a full turn key restoration shop and have restored a number of Jaguars, including Etypes and MKII jags. GPC would be happy to undertake any restoration work.
