After the inspection is complete, they call me with the results. I then either do the repairs and put the vehicle up for auction, or if the problems are too numerous, and it looks like she's going to be a problem vehicle, I liquidate the vehicle at a local auction. My repairs average about $400.00 per unit. Please understand that we are not in the vehicle restoration business. I don't replace every teeny tiny part that is not brand new. The folks who check out these units have been working with us for several years now, and they dont abuse my business. If the brakes are in good shape, they tell me. If they are below their recommendations, I replace them. If they tell me that it needs an alignment, I have it aligned. If it doesn't need an alignme... THE OWNERS MANUAL ALSO HAS THE DEALER STAMPED SERVICE INTERVALS FROM 1975 TO 1977. THE STORY: THE CAR WAS SOLD TO THE SECOND OWNER IN THE MID 90’S THAT LIVED IN RHODE ISLAND. THE CAR WAS THEN PURCHASED BY THE GENTLEMAN I PURCHASED IT FROM IN 2003 WITH 45,000 MILES. HE PURCHASED THE CAR AS A TOY AND ALWAYS KEPT IT GARAGED. THE CAR WAS NEVER DRIVEN IN THE RAIN. HE OWNED THE CAR FOR 12 YEARS. DURING THIS TIME FRAME HE ONLY DROVE THE CAR ROUGHLY 7000 MILES TOTALING ROUGHLY 600 MILES PER YEAR. WHEN HE PURCHASED THE CAR IT WAS 100% ORIGINAL AND IN EXCELLENT OVERALL CONDITION. A FEW YEARS AFTER OWNERSHIP HE DECIDED TO HAVE IT PAINTED THE ORIGINAL COLOR SINCE THE BODY HAD A FEW TINY BLEMISHES AND THE PAINT WAS STARTING TO SHOW ITS AGE. DURING THE TIME OF OWNERSHIP HE STARTED IT EVERY MONTH OR SO AND TOOK IT FOR DRIVES AROUND TOWN TO KEEP IT UP TO PAR. HE CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTER AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR AND REPLACED ONLY A FEW PARTS. SOME OF THE PARTS INCLUDED A GAS LINE, IGNITION CYLINDER, FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS AND TIRES. OVER THE LAST YEAR I’VE COLLECTED AND SOLD SOME VINTAGE PORSCHES AND BECOMING MORE AND MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE WITH THEM. I JUST JOINED THE PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA. SOME OF THE THINGS I’VE LEARNED IS THAT MOST OF THE VINTAGE PORSCHES ADVERTISED ON THE MARKET FOR SALE ARE IN NEED OF SERIOUS WORK. THE BODY’S ARE FULL OF RUST, THE PAINT QUALITY IS POOR, MANY FEATURES DON’T WORK AND MECHANICALLY THERE A MESS. THE DAY I PULLED UP TO SEE THIS CAR THE GENTLEMAN HAD IT RUNNING IN HIS DRIVEWAY. I WAS IMMEDIATELY IMPRESSED WITH HOW GOOD IT WAS RUNNING. I SAT INSIDE THE CABIN AND STARTED CHECKING EVERYTHING. I WAS BLOWN AWAY THAT EVERYTHING I CHECKED WAS IN WORKING ORDER. Inspection ReportUnfortunately most classic vehicles that are being advertised for sale by dealers and private parties aren't exactly what are being advertised for sale. This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different. The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages. Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration. An example would be a classic vehicle that's being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc. Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored. There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components. The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale. At MS CLASSIC CARS I own the entire inventory and take pride in what I sell. We are selling our '07 Lexus IS350. This is the 350 which has 306hp (not the IS250) and it has 71,200 mi. We are the second owner of this car and have never been in any sort of accident with it and we bought it at 23,645 mi. from the Jake Kaplan Land Rover Jaguar dealership in Warwick Rhode Island. From Nov. of '06 (when the car was first purchased) until we purchased it the car lived in Florida and from then on it was owned here in Maine by us. We have never driven it during the winter months. The exterior is "Black Sapphire Pearl" which is a navy and it can look closer to black at night, but in the sunlight it's a metallic blue. This car drives as straight, smooth, quiet, true, and solid as the day it was new to us. There are no leaks and it doesn't burn an ounce of oil. This is one CLEAN vehicle and we have spared no expense in being sure it had absolutely everything it needed for service and appearance. It comes from our pet-free, smoke-free, child-free home and it has a new Maine Inspection Sticker and a clean title. Most recent service and purchases (within the last few months and few hundred miles of driving and with receipts on hand for everything) include:1. The condition is very good with not a single scratch or scrape on the front or rear bumper, no door dings, and because all weather trays were installed (and included) the floor carpeting is immaculate. It includes all the service records in chronological order, both key fobs in brand new condition, all the Lexus owner's manuals/books, and we have the title in hand. I have three cars and after buying my newest one I cannot justify keeping them all. This car drives unlike so many others and it's so much fun to be behind the wheel of it. $17,250.
