1997 Jeep Wrangler with 92k. Runs and drives good. Does not need anything. It is not perfect, but mechanically it is in pretty good condition. It has new tires. Brakes are in good shape, about 90%. It has a brand new exhaust/intake manifold gasket, down pipe, center pipe, muffler and tailpipe. When I had exhaust system done, the shop went around with a hammer on the frame and it is pretty solid. They put a sealant on the frame. The sealer smells like vinegar and is white-whatever rust spots it comes into contact with turns black and is protected. That cost $350 to have done, because it has to brushed on and is to thick to be sprayed. That means it is pretty much rust free. The body is pretty straight. It has a couple scratches, but nothing major. It has a couple small dings. The only one that sticks out is on the drivers door. It looks good overall. The windows that are in it now slide, but it does have zipper windows that are in the back seat. The top has a small mark-please see pic. The interior is in pretty good condition overall, with the exception of the drivers seat-please see pic. 4x4 works well. There are clunks over bumps. There have been no modifications done to it. We are a specialized Jeep shop located in Conover NC about 1 hour north of Charlotte NC. While our niche is in frame up restorations we cater to all your Jeep needs. I have for sale a very clean 1985 Jeep CJ7 Renegade with a 258 Inline 6 cylinder and the desirable T176 four speed mated to a Dana 300 Transfercase. Many Jeeps come up for sale with little to no history following them. This Jeep has a decent and simple story. It was purchased new in 1985 in Rhode Island. It was then sold to a German women at approximately 6,000 miles and driven to the Carolina's where it has spent the rest of its time. The Jeep was driven all over the country by her and her son on vacations and daily travels. Sadly the women had passed away and left the Jeep to her son. He was a Mopar man and wanted to pass the Jeep onto a good home for someone else to enjoy. I purchased the Jeep from him with the promise I would bring it back to life while retaining the original character of the CJ.Considering all offers. What's been done:The engine, transmission, transfercase, driveshafts, and gas tank were all removed. The frame and under body was extensively cleaned and degreased. The under body had a light professional undercoat sprayed on. (not the cheap gooey tar stuff). The tub had original undercoat on it otherwise I would have left it in paint. The frame is immaculate and rust free and was sprayed with semi gloss rustoleum. Has an almost frame off appearance underneath. The 258 was place on the engine stand and had the following replaced:Intake and exhaust manifold gasketRear main sealOil pan gasketWater pump and thermostatTiming chainBeltsHosesFuel pumpFuel lineFuel hosesFuel fitersAlternatorStarterClutch, flywheel, throwout bearingCarburetorPower steering pumpCoilDistributorSpark plugsSpark plug wires All hard parts including pulley, brackets, intake and exhaust manifold were media blasted and paintedThe wiring has been gone through and simplified to remove unneeded troublesome computer. The transmission and transfercase were cleaned and degreased down to the metal and primed and paintedThe fuel tank was removed and cleaned inside and out, all lines cleaned out, new hoses and new fuel sender installed. The Jeep presents were for its age but has imperfections and fading on the hood.There was a new Bestop Supertop installedNew BFG All Terrains on factory wheels All gauges and lights including interior under dash lights function properly. After the inspection is complete, they call me with the results. I then either do the repairs and put the vehicle up for auction, or if the problems are too numerous, and it looks like she's going to be a problem vehicle, I liquidate the vehicle at a local auction. My repairs average about $400.00 per unit. Please understand that we are not in the vehicle restoration business. I don't replace every teeny tiny part that is not brand new. The folks who check out these units have been working with us for several years now, and they dont abuse my business. If the brakes are in good shape, they tell me.
