It has a Turbo 400 three speed automatic transmission with a shift kit, an auxiliary transmission cooler with a fan had been installed for better performance. A rebuilt bullet proof cast iron 205 transfer case was matched to the auto transmssion. Front axle: Freshly rebuilt Rockwell 2.5 ton military axle with a Detroit locker and disc brakes. When I bought this jeep I planned on keeping it forever. I got it from Oklahoma, the previous owner got it from the Nevada/California area. Oriiginal paint and body. Rancho Suspenion and leaf springs. I have spent a lot of money on the jeep to include new main seal, new steering box, new exhaust, stater, oversized radiator, alternator, battery, serpentine belt and u joint. The trans has been serviced. The wiper motor knocks and will need replaced, a new one is included. The tires are decent and the era correct aluminum wheels show well. The paint and undercarriage is excellent. I have the original full hard doors. One does not open and I am trying to get it fixed. The door panels are new. They look good but not perfect. It also now had a tune up and some vacuum lines replaced, A/C has been converted. I have full soft top that is serviceable and a bikini top. The jeep has the rear window defogger switch so a hard top could be installed. This is the nicest 89 you will find, the body and frame is excellent. I also replaced the very bad factory seats with new seats and carpet. I did not glue the carpet down incase I eventually wanted to rhino line the interior. I am going to tune up the jeep, it needs it. The stereo is new and sounds excellent. If you want to look at the jeep let me know. I purchased this Jeep in April. the frame is a 1989, but the body is a 1994. Full metal doors. I originally paid $5000. I put a lot of money into it. I put a 4.5" Rough Country lift, 33" Nitto Trail Grappler Tires and 20" Fuel Maverick Rims ($4500). I put new seats, seat belts, risers, and sliders ($1000). Im not sure if the AC or heater works. There is a kill switch on the battery because the radio is not wired properly. If the jeep sits for several hours, i flip the switch so the battery wont die. This is easily fixed i just dont have the time or money right now to do it. I need to sell ASAP. I also have a brand new deluxe console that matches the seats with front and rear cupholders, its just not installed. None of the gauges work. There is a new engine that was put in 6 years ago, it is a straight 6 and runs like a beast! There is no housing on the carburetor. The window cranks are missing.

BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE DON'T READ!!I AM RELISTING MY JEEP WITH BUY IT NOW INSTEADUp for sale is my 1989 Jeep Wrangler YJ, Yellow exterior with black interior It has a 5.7L Chevy V8 with a TH350 automatic transmission mated to the NP 231 transfer case. Has dual exhaust, B&M shifter. It has power steering, power brakes, tilt steering, front disc brakes, ICE COLD A/C!!! It is a hardtop model with full metal doors, full black carpet (front area, back area, and cargo area) in good shape along with black seats and door panels, to entire interior is in excellent condition for the year (sorry it’s a bit dirty in the pics). It has all 4 American Racing aluminum alloys (I believe they are 15x10) wheels, with nearly new 31x10.5x15 Firestone Destination tires. Spare tire is a factory wheel in decent shape. Has nerfbar front bumper, rear bumper (with built in receiver hitch), and sidesteps. Working gauges: Tachometer, Fuel, Temperature, and Voltage This jeep is overall a very solid jeep, please look at pics and ask for more pics if any doubts or questions please. The frame is solid as can be seen on pics. The body is solid overall as well (check out the floor pics and the cargo floor area pics), the only spot I see that has some rust showing (can be seen in pics) is where the JEEP stamped logo is on the driver's side right in front of driver's door where the floor of the tub meets the side of the jeep tub. Also, there is some rust on the side nerfbars as well. One other minor rust I saw was on the passenger side in trunk area where the rollbar bolts to the body (you can see it in picture, nothing major but I'm disclosing everything I can think of. Now For The Bad: The engine is smoking a bit, I believe its only on the passenger side (probably needs a head job/valve job, but I have no clue, I am not a mechanic) There is a sounds coming from the transfer case (I think there is something wrong with the front output of the transfer case, but again I'm not sure, nor do I even know if the sound is really coming from there). right now I believe its in 2WD and it drives fine the way it is right now. The drive train was all put together: engine, tranny, transfer case, driveshafts, mounts, etc. BUT, the small linkage that goes from the 4x4 floor shifter to the actual transfer case is missing (I bought it this way)…So I haven’t been able to test the 4x4, also the front axle vacuum/actuator thing that engages the axle in 4x4 is not connected (vacuum seems to be connected, but the electrical plug on axle is not) It could use a paint job, as you can see in the pics it has touch ups on the paint, the nerbars could use some painting, the hardtop can also be repainted as well, But if you want it for off-roading then its just fine the way it is. Now to Summarize So with all that being said, if you know about jeeps then you know that just the V8 conversion is worth some bucks. I really feel that a Chevy 350 with a TH350 is one of the best combination because of the power you can get from this combination as well as the easy and cheap to find parts for it as well. a barn find 1989 Sahara jeep. Amazingly even the seats and top still are intact. Trans seems to shift through gears and and brakes clutch seem to still hold pressure. Engine had batt and radiator fluids drained when it was stored because owner went into care facility. Family disputes made jeep stay in storage for over a decade and hasnt been cranked. I turned the engine with fan to make sure it wasnt frozen and it spins like a top. When being towed, jeep didnt hesitate at all rolling except the dry rotted busted tires. Look at pictures for overall shape...only ba d areas is one little rust spot in drivers floor board where seat bolt goes through and back passenger corner has some rusty flakes on surface but not through. I traded this for a couple jet skis so that is why I am selling it. It has a 6 cylinder engine and manual transmission. Runs fine I guess but I am more used to a hemi. When I got it I took it to a shop for a full inspection. They replaced the ignition switch(so I have the only keys), installed a new exhaust manifold, new plugs, cap, rotor, belt, and new rear LED tail lights. This will pass inspection. This jeep has air conditioning and an aftermarket stereo. The body has some kind of spray on bed liner that feels rubbery. Tires have tread but it looks like they could use a new set that suits the jeep better. As for the rust issue these have I could see none. Others could not see any. I wont say there is not some hidden somewhere but I could almost bet there is none. Yes the floor boards are solid too. The jeep has a dealer tag that is from Arizona so I would say that is where it came from and reason I don't see any rust. I have drove it around but I am not a jeep guy so I don't know how far of a trip I would take it. When I have drove it around I had no problems but it seems like a lot of work driving compared to my newer trucks that drive like cadillacs. This needs picked up with in 2 weeks and paid at that time. If you don't contact me with in 24 hours after purchase to set up a time or I have the right to sell locally if I choose. More than just the massive ground clearance, the entire front fender section has been re-tubbed to carry enough suspension travel to overcome boulders. The rear end has even less fender restriction, so all four wheels can handle separate elevations with ease. Still not convinced? Just look at the tires. The Goodyear MT/R units are reinforced with Kevlar, so they are literally designed for bulletproof off-road performance. Still, there is some beauty in this beast. The parts that you scrape the most have been hit with an easily replaceable black paint, and as an added bonus, it makes for a nice complement to the electric blue body with Tomahawk graphic.
