Kit car? Street rod? Fox-body custom? Whatever you might be building or modifying, if you want to put a muscular small block in it, you should seriously consider one of Ford Racing's 385 hp, 351 c.i.d. GT-40 crate engines. They're built around Ford's well-known 5.8L Sportsman II block, fitted out with forged pistons and a single-plane "Victor Jr." intake manifold, plus high-flowing, race-proven GT-40 aluminum cylinders heads, complete with the GT-40 valvetrain package. The compression ratio is an easy-to-live-with 9.0:1, but the engines' output is still hefty. With headers and a 780 cfm Holley (both sold separately), they crank out an impressive 385 hp at 5,500 rpm, with 377 ft.-lbs. of torque. That's more than enough to motivate just about any street rod, hot rod, custom car, or truck in a big way. The engines come with oil and water pumps, a dual-sump oil pan, a billet steel flywheel, and a high-performance harmonic balancer.WarrantySome parts are not legal for sale or use in California on any pollution-controlled motor vehicles Pony car & Hot Rod lovers delight ,This car was billed as the "Gentlemen's Muscle Car" or a "Muscle Car in a Sports Jacket" because it was more luxurious and refined than its' Mustang stable mate. This 72 Cougar is ready to rumble,This fine Cougar has received new life from a Genuine 351 Ford Crate Motor,Fuel Pumped in by an external electric fuel pump, Jet coated header's feed exhaust through two magna flow mufflers and out through aluminum 2 3/4 inch one piece H pipes with oval tips, ,Electric fans provide cooling air through a Griffin four row radiator ,with an Edelbrock Victor Jr. aluminum high rise manifold fed fuel via Holly 670 CFM Street Avenger four barrel carb.Pump gas pumped in by an external electric fuel pump ,Power grounded by a Dominator Jr.Ford AOD tranny , through a custom balanced Aluminum Drive line ,Four good 15 inch tires on spiffy torque aluminum wheels complete the power distribution package.Out side , Ford produced the first sequential turn signals and rear illumination that add a very distinctive element to your turning and breaking alert system's .Paint shines as if new,Bikini top looks fine , no dents or rips outside or in.Interior looks as if never used.Speaker grills missing off of door panels but available .Front Bumper replaced ,Triple Chrome ,With a matching set wheels . Wheelbase 112.0 in (2,845 mm) For 1971, the Cougar was restyled, weighed less, and had only a one-inch-longer wheelbase than its predecessors (112 vs. 111 - which was similar to GM's intermediate-sized two-door models, such as the Olds Cutlass). The front end now featured four exposed headlights; the disappearing headlights were eliminated. The center grille piece was now larger, sharing its appearance with the 1971 Mercury Cyclone. The rear featured a semifastback with a " flying buttress" sail-panel. The convertible returned, as did the XR-7 and the GT package. The Eliminator package was dropped, but the Ram Air option remained. The engine lineup was revised for 1971, as well. Now only three engines were offered—the standard 240 hp (179 kW) 351 Windsor two-barrel V8, the 285 hp (213 kW) 351 Cleveland four-barrel V8, and the 370 hp (276 kW) 429 Cobra Jet four-barrel V8. 1971-1973 Mercury Cougar XR7 By 1972, the climate had begun to change as the muscle car era ended. No longer able to use gross power numbers, the manufacturers had to use net power figures, which dropped the once-mighty figures down substantially. Engines were shuffled around a bit with the 429 engine option no longer available. They were now the standard 163 hp (122 kW) 351 Cleveland two-barrel V8, or the 266 hp (198 kW) 351C four-barrel Cobra Jet V8. Other than that, the Cougar remained a carryover from 1971. Only minor trim details were changed in 1972. The big-block engines were gone for 1972 and 1973. The days of performance-oriented muscle cars were coming to an end. Aside from minor grille and taillight changes, 1973 would be largely a carryover year for the Cougar, but it would mark the last year of the Mustang-based Cougar, and the end of Cougar convertibles. (A light blue/white Cougar XR-7 convertible was actually the "last" convertible built by Ford Motor Company.) An automatic transmission and power front disc brakes became standard, though a 4-speed manual transmission was still available as a rarely ordered option. Many changes were scheduled for the 1973 models. Power figures continued to change, as new federal/ EPA regulations began their stranglehold on the V8 engines. The new figures continued to fluctuate, but engine options remained unchanged from 1972. The standard engine continued to be the 168 hp (125 kW) 351 Cleveland two-barrel V8. Optional was the 264 hp (197 kW) 351 Cobra Jet V8. The following years changed to the Thunderbird/Torino chassis. Additionally, an arguably little known trim style and certain mandatory options (e.g. hardtop) of Cougar was the "Bronze Age" edition made by Mercury in 1973 (also made for the models: Mercury Monterey, Mercury Montego MX, and Mercury Comet of that year). [8] [9] While it was marketed primarily in copper metallic colors, [10] it was also available in 6 other colors: ivy glamour metallic, green metallic, medium brown metallic, saddle bronze, medium yellow gold and white. Here's a 56 GMC. Has been off the road since 1995. Pretty solid truck with minimal rust. Removed the spark plugs and filled the cylinders with marvel and let it sit for a few months before starting. Have clear Ca. title, black plates match the paperwork. Currently on non- op so no funny DMV issues. Minimal rust confined to lower front fenders and cab corners. roof drip rails rock solid. passenger door opens and closes great, drivers door has a sloppy hinge. the engine is strong, its a Pontiac V8, I believe a 317. Pulls a steady 20 lbs of vaccum.45- 60 lbs of oil pressure.Changed the oil, new spark plugs and cleaned and kitted the carb. no other tune up work has been done. Have run the engine several times, the longest was about an hour. the temp gauge read in the low normal range. no water in the oil or vise versa. fuel gauge goes to full. old gas in tank. been running off a one gallon gas jug. has a good hot battery. charging system seems to work. 4 speed stick w/ granny. Drove it a short distance, the clutch feels good, only had room to get it up through 3 rd gear, the trans felt fine. Reverse, first second and third felt fine, forth I don't know. tach does not work. NO BRAKES. I thing it could be made into a fun driver with typical work needed on a vehicle that has sat this long. 500.00 deposit through pay pal due within 24 hrs of auction end. Balance due within 7 days. bank wire transfer or cash only.I will provide 30 days free indoor secured storage. Truck located in Anderson Ca. about 140 miles north of Sacramento right off Interstate 5.

grumpaschest Store A True American Classic a Beautiful un-restored 1925 Chevy 2 door coupe. This car is all original including the almost still perfect top. No restorations ever. Car is in good running and working condition. The only modification is an electric fuel pump that was added for efficiency (the original pump is still intact; it is just bypassed). This car has some history and spent the majority of her life in a museum right across the street from Harrah's Hotel and Casino in Reno, Nevada. The gentleman that I purchased car from began to re-wire it and replaced the wood flooring and trunk wood. The wiring is simple and mostly done. Other than a new battery, new tubes tires and the electric fuel pump, the car is all original. All of the wood is in near perfect condition, all of the glass is good and windows operable. I don't believe the car is missing anything. The paint is all original and pretty much rust free, the rust that can be seen in pictures is very minor just a light surface rust, there is no cancer or holes or rot or bondo anywhere. The underside is very nice and clean, again no cancer; a very solid steel car. The hoses were also replaced. it is all original with matching engine and vin numbers at some point late twenties or thirties the head was swapped out with a 28 dual port head which was very common since the earlier heads were single port and not as efficient. This car runs good and does not seem to be leaking and or burning any oil. Please check out my video that I made, gets you up and close to it. Just Look Up 1925 Chevy Coupe on you tube In my opinion this car does not need to be restored and should either go back into a museum or be put into the middle of someone's Business showroom floor as a mascot. And if someone did want fully restore it would not take a lot to do, don't have to tear completely down all the wood is perfect not rotted. Interior would be very easy to put in. This would make a very nice rolling project. Guaranteed a first place winner in any car show, you just don't find them like this anymore. Car is currently titled in California but was originally and most of its life was a Nevada vehicle. It is titled only which means no registration fees until you are ready to put it back on road, no non-op fees or back fees are owed if you are in California and if you are going to register in California I just found out that you can order your own number with old style plate through Cal DMV. (Thought that was kind of cool) Plates on car are neither matching nor original. If you use the Buy it Now option for $24.000.00 I will include the following; sand car down to metal, prime and paint with as close to original paint and color scheme as possible, and I will put new headliner and door panels as well as have seat re upholstered and offer free delivery of up to 500 miles of Anderson California and $1.50 a mile there after (must use buy it now for delivery option). If you prefer to buy it as is and finish it yourself make me an offer. Car is being listed on other sites as well. I am just a regular Joe Grumpa that lives on a small fixed income that occasionally finds some very rare and good finds and this is just one of those finds. I just recently found this almost lost and forgotten Mark VI. Second owner had purchased this beauty well over thirty years ago and drove it very little. For the past twenty five plus years this car had only come out of the garage to play three times and that was for local parades. She has only registers 40781 on the odometer. I believe, and would even put a wager on it, that it is actual and original miles on her. It appears the spare tire is the original. Paint looks to be original except maybe the cream color; I am not sure if cream was added later over the burgundy. Interior is beautiful. All leather with no rips or tears in any of the seats. Could use headliner replacement and perhaps new carpeting. All of the wood is in very good shape, dash wood, sun roof wood trim all very nice. Chrome all very nice, a few very minor paint nicks and scratches but then it is almost 65 years old! She has a fresh tune-up, oil change and a new battery. I was told that the radiator was rebuilt three years ago (for the last parade she was in) and it seems to be working well. If you plan on going on a road trip I would suggest the tires be checked. They appear to be in good shape with lots of tread but they look pretty old. She is currently tagged and registered in the state of Oregon until June of 2016. From 1946 to 1952 there were only a total of 5,208 Mark VI produced. Of that 5,208 there were only 180 4-door saloon models with the updated and more powerful 4.6 straight six with the 4-speed transmission. That makes this car very rare! How many out of 180 produced are still alive today? I saved this one from who knows what and now she needs a good, loving home for another sixty years or more. Would consider a trade for maybe even a Ferrari LOL. Just thought I would throw that out there. If you have any questions, give me a call 1-530-357-2982.
