Up for sale is my 1998 Honda Accord LX. It needs a new transmission, or if you know how to fix one yourself, you're in luck. The car would slip out of 3rd or 4th gear and go into 1st or 2end. It is an automatic transmission. Issues started in July of 2014 and the car has been sitting for a year. Car starts with no issue, engine sounds great and quiet. Runs smooth. Never had an engine issue while driving it. I just put in a brand new battery into the car on October 19. The car only has 99445 miles. I moved closer to the city for a job, so I did not need to use this car, so that's why it ended up sitting and not getting fixed. There are a couple tiny rust spots from where rocks chipped the paint on the hood, and few small scrapes on the bumper. For a car in it's age, it is in great physical and interior shape. It is missing the nob to select fan speed on the dash. The interior is clean. The flex coupler underneath has a small hole in it, so the car does sound a little loud but it does not affect driving. Car has valid NJ inspection until July of 2016. Thats just about everything I can think of, I want to be upfront about everything. I am the second owner. I purchased the car in November of 2013 and put about 17k miles on the car by the end July 2014 when the issues started. I do not recommend driving this car with the current state of the transmission. Once the transmission warms up, that's when the gear slipping occurs. I have changed the transmission fluid numerous times using the recommended Honda transmission fluid in an attempt to save the transmission. I've seen used transmissions go for as little as 350, so if you know what you're doing, you can fix it up for relatively cheap if you know what you're doing. I'm not a car guy so at this point, I just don't feel like putting the work in the car nor do I have the knowledge to do it all myself. If you know cars and know how to fix the issues I said above, you'll get a great car that has low miles on its engine for a Honda! It will last for a long time and will be a great commuter vehicle or someone's first car. I'm asking 1800 for the car or best offer. Car is located in Blairstown, New Jersey.Car is Sold As Is. This is a Rare chance to own a car that is hard to find with tons of documentation including Build Sheet. This is a 1989 Pontiac Grand Prix Turbo Mclaren. There were only 750 made in 1989 and only in two colors red and black.The engine is where this car really stands out. I have borrowed some of the following information from online websites to how this engine was made: "The cars started life as regular Grand Prix but not completed, final assembly took place at ASC McLaren, the same folks who built earlier GM supercars such as the Buick GNX and the Pontiac Turbo Trans Am. The cars received more than just a hot motor there, the paint was applied by hand and is a much higher grade than other Grand Prixs and other GM cars of the era. For the engine it received a special built 3.1L V6 that was unique to the Turbo Grand Prix run through a 4T60 4 speed automatic with overdrive. This was not a "corporate" engine as the regular 2.8 and 3.1 V6s of the time which were used in other versions of the W-body such as the Lumina, Buick Regal, and Olds Cutlass Supreme. None of the other makes offered a turbo model. The engine developed 205HP and 225lb ft of torque. This may not seem like much today as many four cylinder engines far exceed that but for 1989 this was a marvel of modern engineering. Keep in mind for example the top of the line 1990 GTA Trans Am with a 5.7L V8 only made 225HP. Differences over the normally aspirated 3.1L engine do not stop with the factory Garrett T-25 turbo. The iron block iron was added with 20% nickel content to improve strength, very small amount of tin for same, both additions unique to the VIN V code engine. The compression ratio was also lowered to 8.78:1, forged rods were used, strengthened crank, special oil pump, unique intakes, aluminum heads, stainless steel exhaust and of course factory intercooled." This car has never seen snow and has been garage kept since bought new by the original owner. I am the second owner of the car and have carried on the tradition of keeping it garaged and away from snow.This Grand Prix is one of the cleanest ones of there, and also has lowest mileage. At the time of posting it only has 48,384 miles on the clock. The exterior is in very good, the paint is deep and reflective (As stated earlier Grand Prix Turbos cars received special hand paint jobs). The front lower air dam would need to be resprayed has rock chips and some scratches.The 16" gold cross-lace rims are in very good shape. The tires have about 90% tread left on them. All lights and lenses work with no cracks or scuffs or cloudiness. No Rust on exterior of car. The interior is in wonderful shape. The leather is soft and supple with no rips, tears, or dings. There is one section of the passenger seat where the fabric came away from the seam, its not ripped just needs to be tucked behind side of seat back.(I will be fixing that this weekend.The dash is perfect, without cracks or discoloration. The door panels are clean and in great shape. The headliner is sagging slightly in a couple places. The HUD (Heads Up Display) also works perfectly, as does the "information center" at the front of the shifting console. This system provides a digital compass, as well as all kinds of information on the car (service intervals, fuel range, avg. mpg, etc.). The radio works as does all the controls that at the radio and buttons on steering wheel to control radio. The cassette player had a tape stuck in the tape deck, I was able to get it out. Not sure if a tape will work in it (Don’t want to try to get a tape out its big pain). What I love about this car is that everything works(Except for A/C see below). Every switch, button (and there seem to be thousands of them), gauge, dial, etc. are in working order. Of special note are the power lumbar seats....you can adjust these every way. This Grand Prix of course has the WS6 suspension package and while the term "handles like it's on rails" is really over-used in car descriptions, I can think of no other way to describe it. There were only a several options available for the Grand Prix Turbo, and those were leather interior, power sunroof. The air condition works but blows warm air, when it is on you do not hear the cycling switch come on, so I think the switch is one problem and possible recharge. I do not use a/c so this did not bother me. This car has not been modified in any way. Computer chips are available to improve performance but I do not see a need for it. This car is 100% stock and all original. The recent work that I had done was that all motor mounts including trans mount and valve cover gaskets were done this year. Here is one of the other great things about this car Documentation!!! I Have All Paper Work For The Car Including a file from the original owner that has all receipts from dealership from when the car was bought new, including all sales receipts, Original Warranties Build Sheet, Vehicle Invoice and Service Records. One thing the original owner had done when the car was bought new was dealer installed rustproofing/undercoating ($800.00), through TST Total Systems Technology and yes I have that receipt as well. T-tops have a slight drip when it rains HARD, new front tires, rear tires are about 50%. The car NEEDS only 3 things that I HAVE and will go with the sale of the car! That is: factory a/c compressor and condensor need to be reinstalled, I have a brand new heater core and hoses in box (the heater core is bypassed because its summer), ALL front end components to completely rebuild the front end (control arm bushings, sway bar links, ball joints, tie rods, strut mounts, etc). The only thing it needs that I don't have are the keyed door lock cylinders (they are $50 on ebay with new keys). I live in the country and never cared to lock my car. The headliner is missing and some interior panels are missing ( I can tell you where to buy them locally, it never bothered me because its garage kept and the T-tops are off 90% of the time!) Otherwise, if you're coming from Oregon, drive it home! At 100+ mph I don't care, it drives straight smooth and vibration free at all speeds! Its not a clunker, rattle trap, or project car, there is no rust and I just either didn't have time, nor the "want" to reinstall the parts listed. IF you want those parts installed then you can pay my shop fee, otherwise I cant rationalize it on my own dollar time. It shows its typical wear for a 1986 keep that in mind! Not a show car (yet) but an awesome ride with a very nice exhaust tone and a ballsy 305! 2008 Maserati Quattroporte Executive GT A FLORIDA CAR!!!! This 2008 Maserati Quattroporte is powered by a Ferrari-designed, 4.2L V8 engine making 400 horsepower. The engine is paired with a conventional six-speed hydraulic automatic transmission. Don’t make the huge mistake of buying a Quattroporte with a Duo-Select transmission, they are very expensive to repair / maintain. I had a Maserati Spyder with that trans and it cost me about $7000 for a clutch job which only lasts about 20,000-25,000 miles. This automatic is extremely dependable, and the only way to go if you want dependability, reliability and a long trouble free service life. My understanding is that this transmission is built in Germany by ZF who builds Mercedes and BMW transmissions that have a proven long and dependable service life. A sport mode allows for especially quick shifts and downshifting which is really impressive. With this 6-speed automatic, the Quattroporte can accelerate to 62 mph in 5.6 seconds on its way to a top speed of 168 mph. The Quattroporte has better weight distribution than most sport sedans and is claimed by the automaker to be the best-handling sedan in the world. With the engine mounted behind the front axle, more weight is placed on the rear wheels for better traction and better-balanced handling. The suspension is also designed for high-performance driving. It uses forged aluminum arms and supports and a special geometry that prevents the front end from diving during braking or the rear end from squatting during hard acceleration. The Skyhook suspension system, co-developed with Mannesmann-Sachs, uses a series of sensors to instantly adjust the shocks for driving conditions; it includes normal and sport settings. I have owned over 60 vehicles including Ferarri, Porche, Mercedes and BMW and this is by far the best handling and best performing of them all.... no question. A Brembo anti-lock braking system brings big four-piston calipers to all four wheels for quick stops from high speed. Electronic stability control is also standard. On the safety front, electronic stability control is standard. So are six air bags, including front side air bags and side curtain air bags covering front and rear occupants. Inside, the Quattroporte is finished in Frau Gray (Grigio) Leather, Black carpeting, light gray “suede” appearance headliner and Black Piano Wood trims. Entertainment is provided by a Bose audio system developed for the Quattroporte and includes CD Changer with GPS Navigation system. The specifications for this system are listed below. This Executive GT model gets a classic appearance, with chrome front and side grilles, and ball-polished 19-inch wheels. Also included on this vehicle are optional front heated and ventilated seats with massage, rear reclining seats, and side blinds and power rear sunshade blind. With approximately 57,300 miles (subject to change due to use of vehicle) the engine and powertrain operate flawlessly as if new. This car runs, shifts and drives smooth, straight and tight as if new. The body is super clean and straight with only a few very minor (and very difficult to see) flaws / scuffs typical from normal use but still leave this car looking perfect from a few feet away. The brakes, tires and wheels are in good shape, again, with only a few flaws here and there but look very good overall. This car literally needs nothing to get in and enjoy driving anywhere. The interior is overall in extremely clean and like new condition with exception of wear on rear console corners and rubber coated controls that is typical with all of these cars regardless of model year or age. Otherwise, the interior is in like new condition with the new car smell of a Maserati right out of the factory. Original floor mats are in excellent condition. Owner’s Manual, GPS CD’s and both original remote keys are all included. You will never find a nicer cleaner Quattroporte for the money. This truly is a beautiful car that is barely broken in with tons of life left in it.
