1971 Triumph TR6 convertible with overdrive, restored over the past two years and now recently completed. I purchased this car nearly two years ago and began what became a significant restoration process. Much of the car has been either repaired, replaced or otherwise restored to original condition. It had an electronic ignition unit that I left intact, as it appeared a recent upgrade, and this is virtually the only non-standard functional feature on this car, other than the addition of a J-type electric overdrive unit which is more durable than the original A-type unit. Improvements, replacements, restorations and repairs include (but are not limited to) the following:Rebuilt engine, to include replacement block (old one was cracked), new standard size rings, rod and main bearings, ground and lapped valves, head resurfaced, new hoses, new 12-volt battery, battery cables and battery blanketNew radiatorNew headlights, chrome headlight rimsNew door and trunk locks, keysNew heater coreNew custom built 3" diameter steel dual radius roll bar that does not impede the vision of the driver's rear-view mirrorNew fan shroud, fan beltsNew motor mountsNew stainless steel exhaust pipe and stainless steel mufflerNew carpet New seat upholstery, to include foam and fabricNew convertible top along with new vinyl top boot to dress up the looks of the car when the top is down (which should be most of the time)New windshield with sealNew red line tires, including spareRebuilt transmission and added a rebuilt J-type electric overdriveNew clutch disc, new throw out bearing, pressure plate resurfacedRebuilt speedometerRepacked all greased fittings, to include front steering, front wheel bearings, rear CV joints, new rear end gasket, fresh gear oilNew hydraulic inline rear shock absorber conversion kit, new front shock absorbersNew transmission and driveline PVC tunnel unitsFresh 'signal red' exterior paintToo many minor components replaced to mention (the restoration file is approx. 2 inches thick with receipts, diagrams, etc) While I have endeavored to return this vintage European sports car to original condition, a few minor components may be of slightly different configuration/design, but the intent was to keep it original looking, and I believe I have achieved this goal. The frame has been repaired at some point prior to my purchase of the vehicle at the pivot point on the driver side trailing arm, in addition to a few other places, and is solid. The previous welder, however, did not replace the trailing arm bushing bracket as far up on the frame as should have been, as that would have required removal of the body to access that point for correct welding. Accordingly, this bracket is approx. 1 inch too low, but I have added coil spring spacers to bring the car back into level, and I don't believe the geometry of the trailing arm has been affected to any significant degree. Also, the idle once the car has warmed up runs at around 1200 rpms, which does not really affect the operation all that much, but to many this may be an annoyance that would require both Stromberg carburetors to be rebuilt. The carburetors run perfectly fine throughout the performance spectrum, so I have left them as original, with only the diaphragms and gaskets being replaced on both units. No manner of warranty is offered on this 44-year old car, nor any guarantee of any kind. Sold strictly on an 'as is, where is' basis. To the seller's knowledge, however, this car has been restored to a high degree of mechanical operation, and should perform admirably under normal driving conditions. Additionally, NO PERFORMANCE CLAIM OR WARRANTY ON THE CUSTOM DESIGNED ROLL BAR is stated or implied. This steel roll bar has been welded by a professional welder, and is bolted to the car's frame using (8) 3/8" carriage bolts, and will probably (but not guarantee) increase the likelihood of surviving a roll-over accident over the previous design of the car without any roll bar whatsoever. I highly recommend, however, that the ultimate purchaser not roll the car over at all and put this custom-designed roll bar to the ultimate test. It is a convertible, after all, and getting involved in an accident that results in the car rolling over is going to be rough on the passengers regardless, roll bar or no. Please only submit your offers with intent to purchase. Once your offer has been accepted, it is a binding contract. Down payment of non-refundable $1500 deposit via PayPal must be made within 48 hours of the accepted offer or 'Buy it Now' function having been selected. Balance of the payment will be due within 7 days of the closing of the initial sale date via whatever secured means that guarantees the seller full valid payment. Release of the car for transport will not occur until all funds are secured and verified as valid within seller's bank account. No exceptions, sorry. If you wish to use a wire transfer, please note that buyer will be required to pay ALL of these transaction fees, to include those by both sending and receiving financial institutions, and these fees are exclusive of the purchase price. International buyers are welcome to submit offers. I will assist in the shipping if possible, for additional fees, to the point of debarkation or export (west or east coast of the U.S.).

For sale is my recently completed restoration of a 1917 Ford Model T Touring car. This 98 year old antique vehicle was partially restored when I purchased it a few months ago. The prior owner of the vehicle passed away prior to completion, but had replaced all tires and wooden spokes, and rebuilt the engine with fresh babbitt bearings and had installed a larger Model A crankshaft, Model A piston rods and specialty aluminum .040 oversize pistons with four rings. This work was accomplished perhaps in the early 2000's, and then was placed in storage until I purchased it two months ago. The 'fresh' tires now have some minor age cracks, but have virtually zero wear on the treads. The car had the original top irons included with the sale, but no top or interior upholstery was done. I installed a new top, new upholstery and new seat springs, new floor mats, and rebuilt era correct coil box, coils and Tiger timer, along with new wiring throughout. The engine was also never ran up after having been rebuilt, and I disassembled the motor and found that the magneto magnets and coil ring had been removed. I replaced these components with the correct components which I recharged and reconditioned , and the magneto now produces approximately 11 volts AC at an idle, and around 25 volts AC under normal running RPMs: a very powerful ignition system currently. It also has a 6 volt battery with generator and electric starter (neither of these components were OEM to the 1917 model year, but are extremely useful when used for touring and daily driving). I also replaced the piston rings with new specialty rings from Egge Pistons in California, and had honed the cylinders prior to installation. A high compression head has also been added by me to accommodate the increased power from the larger Model A crank and longer compression stroke. The cam has been ground to increase the duration of valve opening, and much larger main bearing caps and bolts/nuts have been installed. A rebuilt Holley NH carburetor has been installed and provides adequate fuel for this 191 cubic inch engine (original block displacement is 177 cubic inches). All of this engine work and machine work is not visible, and accordingly the only visible alterations to this engine are the addition of the generator and cutout as well as the electric starter, the 1/2" lower cylinder head, and larger main bearing nuts. Only an experienced Model T expert will be able to detect any modifications, and to most all others, this car looks to be original. In other words, it does not appear to be 'hot rodded', but it indeed has more power than the original 20 horsepower engine. My estimate of the current power would be approximately 32 horse power. To cool engine with this increase in HP, a newly manufactured radiator has been added, and no overheating problems exist currently. This increase in power allows the car to travel at much greater speeds, but the 1917 Touring platform/suspension does not support any speeds beyond 45 miles an hour with stability. Extreme caution should be exercised in traveling at these higher speeds, and this 'stroker' engine is primarily designed to allow the operator to navigate hills without losing as much speed and/or down shifting into low gear. It also allows much faster time to achieve cruising speed when shifting from low to high gear. The torque of this more powerful engine is adequate to power through moderate hills with no stress to the engine, and no threat of breaking the much stronger Model A crankshaft, as was a possibility of the weaker original crankshaft. Sold on an 'as is, where is' basis. $1,500.00 nonrefundable deposit via PayPal required within 48 hours of sale, and the balance due within 7 days of sale. All funds must clear seller's bank prior to release of the vehicle to the buyer or buyer's agent for transport. Seller can assist the transport company with loading the vehicle onto buyer's trailer, but driving Model T's onto trailers is tricky and even the most experienced Model T drivers cannot warrant that they will not have issues loading these old cars into tight spaces typically present on car haulers. Purchaser must take possession of the vehicle within 30 days of the date of sale on eBay, and if delays in picking the car up exceed 30 days, a $150.00 per month storage fee will be assessed for each month the car remains in my custody. Purchaser must carry comprehensive insurance immediately upon purchase and during storage, as seller will cancel the existing comprehensive insurance policy upon date of sale. IMPORTANT NOTE: 1917 authentic Illinois license plates, luggage rack and antique suitcase, bulb horn shown in photos are not included with the car, seller will remove them upon sale to ultimate purchaser prior to shipment.

1935 Chrysler Airstream Touring Sedan. This great looking car was restored to near original condition around the late 1980's or early-to-mid 1990's. The gentleman I purchased it from owned it from 1996 and had taken great care of it, using it rarely in parades and a few car club functions. This older restoration still looks in excellent condition and runs and drives smoothly. It has an in-line 6 cylinder engine, with a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. It appears that a hydraulic brake booster has been added to the brakes, and gives an assist in bringing this 3,050 pound car to a stop without great effort. Of significant note, when I parked this car in my wife's spot in the garage while I worked on some minor mechanical issues after I purchased the car, and after I drove the car to test all of systems, it appears there are absolutely zero fluid leaks: no rear end or oil pan leaks, no anti-freeze, no leaks of any kind were present on the garage floor when I moved the vehicle after about a week of minor maintenance in this one location. Ordinarily, 80 year old machines almost always leak something, but not this old beauty. The previous owner tells me that he had recently spent $1100 on the brakes, and from what I can tell from driving the car, and by the way it stops it appears money well spent. The engine starts immediately when cold with a manual choke, and warms up quickly. No noises, unusual vibrations or visible emissions are present, and it runs quietly and smoothly. All gauges work as they should, and while the speedo works OK, it makes noise at certain speeds. The paint is a lacquer application as was popular in older restoration, and is checking most noticeably on the front passenger door and passenger side hood section, in addition to nicks and scratches in the paint in other areas but it really does not detract from a general excellent appearance overall. A truly nice looking car that has been superlatively maintained over its lifetime. There is virtually no rust anywhere, and looking at the undercarriage suggests this car was never run in foul weather, and as of the last 25 years has been a relative trailer queen more than a daily driver. The following are items that are non-operational, but may disappear from the listing as I am continually working on these items:Turn signal lever has broken off. Accordingly, I can't tell if the turn signals work or not, but I am in the process of correcting this. Turn signals were not OEM to this car. Heater is not connected to the cooling system. ( IMHO, this car is way too nice to be run in the cold weather anyway, but that's just me.)AM radio is non-operational, but all the components seem present and intact. The speedometer/cable make noise at certain speeds. Fog lights (aftermarket additions) are non-operational Rear passenger compartment overhead light is non-operational No manner of warranty is offered on this 80-year old car, nor any guarantee of any kind. Sold strictly on an 'as is, where is' basis. To the seller's knowledge, however, this car has been restored to a reasonable degree of mechanical operation, and should perform admirably under normal driving conditions. Please only submit your offers with intent to purchase. Once your offer has been accepted, it is a binding contract. 1925 Ford Model T Coupe, commonly referred to as a 'doctor's coupe' back in the day, this nice old antique is in excellent condition, recently restored. I purchased this car several months ago and it was in relatively good condition when I bought it, and appeared to have had an easy existence. Much of the car is original and virtually rust-free, several restoration/repair items have been performed to include: Engine has been disassembled and gone through for any significant problems. New rings were installed, valves were lapped and adjusted, bearing clearances were adjusted/shimmed to the specified 15/1000" clearance, cylinder head was resurfaced, new nickel plated head bolts and copper gasket installed. When I purchased the car, I discovered that the original 1925 engine block was severely cracked and the cylinder head was warped, and was no longer serviceable, and was replaced by a serviceable 1921 era short block and cylinder head. The original damaged engine block has been retained, and can be purchased separately and shipped separately from this eBay listing, please contact seller if the original block is needed for authenticity purposes, and seller can price this damaged block for sale and shipment based on location of the ultimate purchaser. All tires including spare have virtually zero miles on them, although they were installed at some point in the past by the previous owner(s), and are road ready. All rims including spare rim have been serviced to insure reliability and all wood spokes have been checked for tightness and re-varnished with 4 coats of spar varnish.New radiator installedBrake light actuated by foot pedal added for safety during operation, was not original equipmentAll three locks have keys and function as they should: ignition, passenger door and trunk.Coils have been tested, tuned and are functioning perfectlyRuns on both battery and magnetoMinor upholstery upgrades, although the existing upholstery is in very good condition with no tears or fraying apparent.Fresh trunk liner and carpet installedDoor panels re-upholsteredAll windows adjusted, serviced, lubricated and all 5 moving windows function as they shouldCarburetor rebuiltGenerator cleaned and brushes cleaned and re installed for maximum performanceThis nicely restored car runs, cools, stops and starts as it should, all systems including headlights, tail light and brake light, map light on dash and generator all function well and it is a reliable touring vehicle, and it does not appear to have excessive mileage on most of the components of the vehicle. Minor issues include a few oil leaks (standard on all Model T's), and is equipped with a non-original horn although the horn present is era correct. Many knowledgeable antique car enthusiasts have insisted that this 1925 model year Ford did not come with cowl mounted oil lanterns as standard equipment. I researched this issue, and have determined that indeed these functioning oil lamps were standard on all 1925 Model T's that were not equipped with optional generators. This car's lamps are authentic original equipment, and are in excellent working condition, with fresh oil and wicks that are ready to light when needed. Additional comments have been made by the same knowledgeable enthusiasts regarding the wooden spokes on the standard equipment wheels: Henry Ford had them all painted black. These spokes were originally painted black, and one of the prior owners took painstaking efforts to remove the paint and stain and varnish the original hickory hardwood. I personally prefer this look to the standard black paint, and chose to leave them as they are, even though this is not how the factory produced them. Certainly if this is an issue with any subsequent buyer as to originality, these spokes can be repainted black without much problem or cost. Sold on an 'as is, where is' basis with bill of sale only and Alabama registration certificate indicating the serial number 11654441. I purchased this car from an individual in Alabama who provided the registration document but insisted that no title was issued for cars 35 years old and older by the State of Alabama. Accordingly, no title will be issued with sale, and buyer will be responsible for obtaining a title in states that require such documentation. IMPORTANT NOTE: 1925 authentic Illinois license plates shown in photos are not included with the car, seller will remove them upon sale to ultimate purchaser prior to shipment.

1924 Ford Model TT one ton tanker truck, great condition, runs excellent, with Ruckstell rear end along with standard Model T planetary transmission. When I purchased this truck, it arrived in good condition as it appeared from 10 feet, but upon close and thorough mechanical inspection, a great many undisclosed problems, shortcomings, missing major components and shoddy workmanship were discovered. I have subsequently corrected these problems, and since my purchase in October 2014, I have performed the following on this truck: Removed the old leaking carburetor and installed a freshly rebuilt NH carburetorMost of the electrical wiring has been replaced, to include lights, timer, ignition. The horn wires and battery to starter cable was in good shape and was not replaced. The emergency brake shoes and linkages were missing, I replaced the entire emergency brake system to include shoes, pads, linkages. The truck had an inferior distributor and coil conversion, I removed this system and returned it to original rebuilt buzz coils and new ignition timer and ignition wires. The ignition was jerry rigged by an amatuer mechanic to run the engine only if the lights were turned on with a jump wire, since no ignition key was sold with the vehicle. I obtained the correct key, and returned the ignition to standard Ford configuration. The truck was missing the hood and both doors, I installed new hood and installed new wood doors with original-type Model T hardware. The leaking and corroded exhaust system was replaced, including the manifold, exhaust pipe, tail pipe and muffler. The existing slipshod floorboards were replaced with correctly configured plywood and poplar materials. The driveshaft pulley was terribly bent and out of balance, and was replaced.A small 15" wooden poorly functioning aftermarket steering wheel was replaced with the original Fordite steering wheel, and the wobbly steering column was reinforced for improved stability. The previous owner claimed the following:New tires and tubes was claimed. I found some minor age cracks in the rear tires, but virtually no wear on them, and the front tires appear to have no wear, either. While these tires are not new, they have exceedingly low mileage if any mileage at all on them.Good front end was claimed. I discovered some movement in the tie rod bushings, but it shouldn't significantly impede the functioning of the front suspension system.Rebuilt engine with new babbitt bearings was claimed. I did not disassemble the engine to verify this, but when I ran it during my inspection it ran perfectly, with no noises, vibrations or visible emissions. I am pleased with the condition of the engine, and have no reason to doubt that it has been rebuilt with very little wear since its rebuild. The magneto was claimed to have been removed. I verified that there is no magneto function. The tank on the back is divided into three sections, with no valves at the bottom of each. Upon inspection, each tank has apparently been out of commission for an extended period, and all three sections would require sealing and valve installation prior to use. Since this vehicle is 90 years old, I would suspect that its days of hauling 300 gallons of oil/gas are well behind it, and I would not recommend trying to press this vehicle back into service unless the tanks have been completely redone, the leaf springs replaced and the wheel hubs replaced and wooden wheel spokes replaced at a minimum. My best guess as to its current capacity would be perhaps using only one of the three sections, or no more than 150 gallons, max. I discovered upon inspection a metal plaque indicating that this truck was at one time part of a truck fleet owned by Sinclair Refining Company. Although this could not be historically verified, all evidence present on the truck including the era correct tank suggests that it is entirely possible that this truck was original commissioned as a fuel hauler. Accordingly, I took the liberty in ordering Sinclair Dino gasoline decals for the tank. Although the decal itself was not available until 1934, recall that this would have been during the depths of the Great Depression, and rather than many companies ordering new 1930's Ford Model AA vehicles, it was exceedingly common that a truck fleet of 10 years old as this one would have been at the time was kept in service. IMPORTANT NOTE: I purchased this truck from an individual in Oklahoma and received a notarized bill of sale along with an Oklahoma title that had been filled in by the guy I bought it from as the new owner, but this individual never processed the title into his name. The eventual buyer needs to be aware that the title is in the name of two prior owners ago (including me), has been signed over to the last buyer, who subsequently provided me this unprocessed OK title along with a notarized bill of sale. UPON SALE, ONLY BILL OF SALE AND EXISTING OKLAHOMA TITLE WILL BE PROVIDED TO BUYER. IT WILL BE ENTIRELY THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ULTIMATE BUYER TO PROCESS THESE EXISTING DOCUMENTS FOR TITLING PURPOSES. NO OTHER DOCUMENTS ARE AVAILABLE, AND NONE WILL BE PROVIDED OTHER THAN THESE TWO MENTIONED HERE. $1,500.00 nonrefundable deposit via PayPal required within 48 hours of sale, and the balance due within 7 days of sale. All funds must clear seller's bank prior to release of the vehicle to the buyer or buyer's agent for transport. IMPORTANT NOTE: 1924 authentic Illinois truck license plates shown in photos are not included with the car, seller will remove them upon sale to ultimate purchaser prior to shipment.

1925 Ford Model T Coupe, excellent condition, recently restored. I purchased this car several months ago and it was in relatively good condition when I bought it, and appeared to have had an easy existence. Much of the car is original, several restoration/repair items have been performed to include: Engine has been disassembled and gone through for any significant problems. New rings were installed, valves were lapped and adjusted, bearing clearances were adjusted/shimmed to the specified 15/1000 inch clearnce, cylinder head was resurfaced, new nickel plated head bolts and copper gasket installed. All tires including spare have virtually zero miles on them, although they were installed at some point in the past by the previous owner(s), and are road ready. The rims have been serviced to insure reliability and all wood spokes have been checked for tightness and re-varnished with 4 coats of spar varnish.New radiator installedMinor upholstery upgrades, although the existing upholstery is in very good condition with no tears or fraying apparent.Fresh trunk liner and carpet installedDoor panels re-upholsteredAll windows adjusted, serviced, lubricated and all 5 moving windows function as they shouldCarburetor rebuiltGenerator cleaned and brushes cleaned and reinstalled for maximum performanceThis nicely restored car runs, cools, stops and starts as it should, all systems function well and it is a reliable touring vehicle, although it does not appear to have excessive mileage on most of the components of the vehicle. Minor issues include a few oil leaks (standard on all Model T's), non-original horn although era correct. Sold on an 'as is, where is' basis with bill of sale only and Alabama registration certificate. I purchased this car from an individual in Alabama who provided the registration document but insisted that no title was issued for cars of this age by the State of Alabama. Accordingly, no title will be issued with sale, but likely the subsequent buyer will not have an issue registering this car and obtaining a title in states that require such documentation. $500.00 deposit via PayPal required within 48 hours of sale, and the balance due within 7 days of sale.

1926 Ford Model T Touring car, runs and looks great. Everything is functional that should be, to include: Runs very well on both battery and magnetoGenerator charges at approx. 7-8 amps when running according to the working ammeterFoot starter button easily engages the 6-volt starter, but also starts with hand crank in frontLow/high forward speeds and reverse work as they shouldConvertible top folds up and down and can be done by one person ( it is called a 'one man top' but one woman can do it as well).Radiator cools nicely, and uses no water pump (only Henry Ford's preferred 'thermosiphoning' at work)Fully inflated and functional spare tire with reconditioned split rimAll tires are relatively fresh (one is brand new), with no age cracks. The spare has slight age cracks, but is a very solid tire with lots of tread leftHave run the car up to 42 mph, as measured by GPS. It cruises nicely in high gear at approx. 35 mph, but will certainly go faster.Clear title in my name (I have yet to receive it from Sec. of State, but am expecting it to arrive in the mail momentarily). Many new or nearly new components, to include: New radiator with new dog bone and motometer - high versionNew top, side curtains and top ironsNew or nearly new tires and tubesNew upholstery and door/kick panelsReconditioned coilsNew lighting wiring harness and timer to coil wiring harness Items of 'interest,' problems or issues: Radiator shell: the car comes with two 1926 all-brass radiator shells (see photos), and as the photos show, the car currently sports a gloss black radiator shell. I had intended to nickel plate one of them, and simply paint the other black so that the car could be driven while the work was done on the plating. I chose the rougher unit as the one to plate, since the plating company was going to do the brazing repairs, dent repairs and polishing prior to the plating, and I thought that the better condition shell would look better painted in the interim. The plating company originally promised me to have the radiator shell done in 'six to eight weeks.' Wow, I thought at the time, that's really a long time to wait, but I agreed to this turnaround time. When 6 weeks had elapsed, I went back to the plating company to see how things were coming, and they told me that they had only just removed the old nickel plating, and had yet to do any of the repairs. "It'll be another month, maybe more, and it will cost you more than we originally quoted you." That, and other local plating companies are two months or more lead time as well to effect this work. I asked them to just give me my unfinished radiator shell back at that time. It is still in need of plating, but some work has been done on it. If the ultimate buyer wants to return the car's appearance to original, then this shell needs nickel plating and perhaps a plating company near you can complete this task in a more timely manner than any plating companies here in the Chicagoland area. I would sincerely hope so. Paint: the paint job on the car is OK, and does not really detract from the general appearance, but it has imperfections here and there. Oil leaks. Virtually all Model T's leak oil, and especially around the 'hogshead' in spots, but this is all part of the fun of owning a Model T. NOT INCLUDED: photos show this Model T equipped with an antique bulb horn (not included with sale), an accordian-style running board luggage rack (not included with sale) and an antique piece of leather luggage (also not included with sale). These three items will be removed prior to buyer taking possession of the car. PayPal deposit of $500 required within 48 hours of eBay purchase, balance due within 7 days of purchase date via certified funds. Shipping at buyer's expense, but seller can provide shipping quote and assist loading. Car will be released for shipping only after all funds have cleared sellers' bank, perhaps 7 to 10 business days or longer. If it appears that the initial successful buyer does not intend to live up to the terms of this posting for any reason whatsoever, seller reserves the right to cancel the transaction and relist the car at any point after the listing has ended, and block the recalcitrant buyer going forward.

1972 Classic Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible, nice looking car, very well maintained. Much has been updated and upgraded on this car, to include: New convertible top and roof liner, installed 11/11/2013New heater components consisting of New heat exchangers (heater boxes) New ducting in front to improve defrost functionality Installation of two heater blowers inline with the heater boxes, which are surrounding the exhaust manifolds - these blowers were purchased from a dealer who represented spare parts off of NASCAR racing cars, and these units were originally designed as blowers in the engine compartments of large yachts to ventilate any fuel fumes, but were later re- designed by Roush Racing to cool their NASCAR brake systems. These blowers have 'RK 191' written on them, indicating one of Roush Team race cars, but I can't determine which one, maybe somebody else with Roush Racing team info can determine this.New exhaust systemNew engine dress up components to include fan shroud, engine tin and other misc. partsRecent low profile directional tires, giving the car a low slung modern look (for a 41 year old car)New carpeting and floor mats, both inside the car and forward trunk areasNew seat beltsNew correct spare tire and rim, fully inflated, lug wrenchAll mechanical components have been checked for reliability, including all brakes, CV joints, engine, transmission and clutch, electrical system.Too many other minor parts and components have been replaced to mention without leaving something out, please ask if you have questions. NOTE: there are several systems that were engineered by the German VW teams back in the 1940's through 1972 when this car came off of the assembly line, and some of them were just plain lousy engineering, and I replaced them, namely the windshield washer system and the heater system. Both were just barely functional even when brand new, and in my opinion unacceptable. Heater system: in line with the heat exchangers but before the flapper valve running into the passenger compartment, I have installed two 12 volt electric blower fans, than when engaged blow perhaps as much as a 500% increase in air flow than the original German system. So much heated air is generated by these fans (formerly installed on NASCAR race vehicles), that I had to install a rheostat to control the fan speed so that the interior compartment does not get too hot (nobody ever said that about a convertible VW Beetle before). This unit, when the levers are set to defrost, generate a healthy heated air flow to the windshield ducts, and the system works as it should have been designed 50 years ago, but wasn't. Because the car is air cooled, no water is used in the heating system, and accordingly the heat exchangers start putting out heat after only about 30 seconds after the car has been started from a stone cold engine left over night in a cold garage, and once just a minimum amount of heat is available, the NASCAR heater pumps force warm air into the drivers compartment almost immediately. Any other car takes several minutes to warm the coolant that provides heat to the interior of any standard car, but this VW has heat right away, regardless of how cold it is outside. Windshield washer system: the original German system on these cars had the spare tire providing pressure to the washer fluid reservoir, and then plumbed up to the windshield wiper control inside the car, then on to the windshield washer nozzle on the hood. Each and every step along the way, leaks could occur through normal wear and aging of the rubber components, and failure anywhere along the line would depressurize the tank along with the spare tire. Any failure anywhere in the system would ensure not only no pressure to the windshield washer, but also ensure a flat spare tire. Terrible engineering, in my opinion. I removed all of this, and simply installed an electric washer pump designed for a 1981 Toyota Camry at the bottom of the washer reservoir, and wired a control button to below the dashboard, where failure of this system is extremely low: no chance of losing your spare tire air, and virtually no chance of losing pressure to the windshield washer nozzle on the hood. The condition of the car is very good, but the car is 42 years old, after all. Relatively rust free Colorado car now in Illinois, but there are some minor areas with surface rust but nothing structurally significant. The older paint job on the car still shines nicely, but there are many areas that had touch up paint applied, and some cracks and checking are apparent on the hood and elsewhere, but it does not really affect the generally nice appearance of the car. PayPal deposit of $500 required within 48 hours of eBay purchase, balance due within 7 days of purchase date via certified funds. Shipping at buyer's expense, but seller can provide shipping quote and assist loading. 1977 GMC Sierra 1500 stepside pickup truck, original purchased in Arizona, rust free and relatively low mileage (81,965 original miles). Garage kept for last 20 years in the Chicago area (at least), has not been driven in rain or snow since older restoration (perhaps 25 years ago). Transmission was just rebuilt ($2,000) less than 100 miles ago, engine rebuilt approx. 6,000 miles ago. Owner indicated that the engine when rebuilt had oversize pistons installed, but did not remember what size they were bored to at the time he purchased the truck. The large 454 Chevrolet Big Block V-8 engine has power to spare, and can burn off the relatively low mileage tires easily if you don’t ease up on the pedal. The truck was painted perhaps 10 years ago or more, but still retains a great shine. Only two very tiny chips in an otherwise nearly perfect paint job, this truck with a little detailing could be almost show quality. Everything works, to include factory air conditioning, this excellently maintained truck needs virtually nothing, either mechanically or aesthetically. Excellent running and looking truck. Power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, everything works as it should. Please call Duane @ (847) 890-3258 with any questions concerning the condition of the truck, or if you require an inspection prior to bidding. Truck is available for inspection in Marengo, IL upon request.
