It is a legitimate rotisserie FRAME-OFF RESTORATION that was completely disassembled and impeccably restored by famed 57 CHEVY EXPERT, CARL MITCHAM OF TEXAS. Mitcham primarily specialized in concourse restorations and this is one of his finest!Later, this Chevy became part of the collection of WELL KNOWN MUSCLE CAR COLLECTOR, CARL DWIGGINS OF NORTH CAROLINA...Dwiggins had a stable of some of the most prestigious original and restored cars on earth!I purchased the car from him in 1991 and have owned it 25 years...SINCE IT'S RESTORATION IN THE LATE 1980’S THE CAR HAS GONE A TOTAL OF ONLY 885 MILES AND LOOKS AS GOOD TODAY AS IT DID WHEN IT WAS FIRST RESTORED!...I have always stored the car in a climate-controlled garage under a car cover.The quality of craftsmanship of this car could never be duplicated for even close to the asking price...However, I do want to sell the car and will consider all reasonable monetary offers!THIS CAR WAS ALSO FEATURED IN THE MAY, 1988 ISSUE OF "SUPER CHEVY" MAGAZINE AND APPEARED ON THE FRONT COVER!!!...CHECK OUT THE SCANS OF THE PHOTOS AND TEXT FROM “SUPER CHEVY” MAGAZINE AS WELL AS HOW THE CAR LOOKS RIGHT NOW IN THE LATER PHOTOS.This vehicle has an ACTUAL CORRECT 1957 283-270 Horsepower Motor w/ Solid Lifters...IT HAS THE PROPER IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS STAMPED INTO THE BLOCK IN 1957 BY CHEVROLET...Of course, it has an original metal "Bat-Wing" Air Cleaner, as well as properly date-coded/correct number Carbs, Dual-Point Distributor, Aluminum Intake, Heads w/ correct numbers/casting marks and so on...It also comes with the correct original high-voltage 091 Ignition Coil and correct Water Pump, Gas Pump, Pulleys, Oil Pan, Linkage, etc. Naturally, this car has a properly date-coded radiator, transmission, rear, and all NOS original shocks! (you know, the shocks with the swirls)The car was restored using ALL ORIGINAL AND NOS PARTS. The only exception being the current battery, as well as the side mirrors which were added later. There were no other reproduction parts used at all! In fact, not many 57 repro parts were even manufactured yet and available for sale at the time of this restoration! Additional options include E-Z I glass, chrome rocker mouldings, wonderbar radio, deluxe heater, spinner hubcaps, etc. Standard steering and brakes compliment the package.
